A Merpony's Adventure

Selene was sleeping soundly till something woke her. It was a whisper a slight whisper in her ear. She couldn’t understand what the whisper was saying but it made her want to follow it. Her eyes were locked on the wall as she listened to the whisper. As she was staring at the wall the twins started to stir causing Twilight to open her eyes. Rolling over she tries to nudge Selene but all she nudge was air. Fully opening her eyes she noticed the merpony was sitting up.

“Selene?” she called out to her but noticed the merpony was not paying attention. Sitting up she noticed her eyes were fully black as tears were flowing from them. fangs appeared in her mouth as Selene turned towards her. Dropping her head down to Twilight’s leg she whispered towards the crystal changing it to pink.

“Star will protect you” her voice sounded as if it had multiplied. Twilight had tears in her eyes shaking her head.

“You can fight this. You can” Selene stopped her as she let out a loud hiss. She lunged at Twilight who pulled a pillow in between them before grabbing the twins and running. Celestia and the others were up and sitting around a small fire trying to fully gather themselves as Twilight came running into camp. With Selene following on her heels but stopping before entering the village. Her tail was turning black as her mane was slowly changing.

“Kiadre?” Elder Sol pointed towards Selene as Twilight held onto the twins panting.

“The curse took over.”

“Why can’t we go any further?” Celestia spoke up as she got her wings fluffed up. She watched as Triton and his family appeared on the beach at a bad time.

“Barrier” Elder Sol spoke up causing the rest to look at him in shock. Selene’s fins raised up as she let out a loud hiss.

“Ske Kiadre (sorry Queen of sea)” Elder Sol walked forward. Raising his hoof he pulled out liquid magic from the ground causing the sisters to stare. He created a small ball before flinging it towards Selene hitting her in the shoulder. She let out a loud scream before falling to her side.

“That is not going to stop her” Star appeared beside Twilight without her tail.

“Queen Roseate”

“Hide the twins Twilight we need to get closer” Selene got back to her hooves as she let out a loud growl as she stared at them. She walked around onshore as Triton kept her from going to sea. Twilight gulped as she left the twins with Elder Kikka before walking to shore. Star looked towards Selene who made a black trident appear in her hooves.

“Well isn’t it the famous Queen Roseate? Come to get your Granddaughter back from us” Selene smiled as she let out a chuckle.

“You three need to let her go” Star slammed her hoof into the ground. She walked closer to shore taking Triton’s trident from him. She got on her back hooves holding the trident in her front two as a spear.

“Why would we ever let something like her go?”

“She not yours!” Star swung the trident causing Selene to dodge.

“Oh, but she is” Selene let out a chuckle as she brought her trident down. Star threw hers up blocking Selene.

“She is not! She is mine!” Star growled.

“You took our chance of having the sea gem away! So we took your granddaughter. She is no longer yours” Selene broke Triton’s trident causing Star to jump back.

“Selene!” Twilight shouted causing the merpony to stop. Her eyes changed a bit before the curse took over again. She let out a huff.

“We will find a cure”

“What cure Roseate?”

“You really didn’t think I wouldn’t find a cure? I found a way to send the sea gem to the pony I want. I found a way to cure a pony of the curse of a sea witch” she smiled causing Selene to let out a loud yell.

“I won’t let you” she stopped as Star disappeared causing her to growl. Snapping her fins closed she ran to the sea jumping over her family. This left the ponies onshore stunned as Star appeared beside Twilight. The others looked towards Star as she was panting looking down at the pieces of the trident.

“Well shit” she looked towards the ponies.

“You know a cure?” Twilight spoke up.

“Skelly was a sea witch. Its cure was experimental. I didn’t think it would work”

“You had a cure! And you didn’t say a damn thing!” Twilight’s mane was on fire as she walked closer towards Star.

“I didn’t say a damn thing because of one ingredient!” she watched as Twilight calmed down a bit.

“What?”

“You need the tears of Fraust. The tears of the first alicorn. You can only get that from the sea, King Atlas. The last time I saw him he was growing mad. I’m not sure if he can help you. Plus there is a side effect. Skelly fell asleep for a year. When she woke her memories were gone” she looked towards Twilight who fell to the ground.

“We can’t win”

“We can but it's in your hooves”

“It’s always in my hooves!” she growled as she kicked a rock into the sea “It’s always in my hooves! And now she has gone to who knows fucking where!”

“Twilight” Celestia spoke up.

“Oh fuck this.” She huffed as Star shook her head.

“There is a cave where Sea witches go. There used to be three that ruled them all. But with them gone Selene is now in control. If you can get to the old King and grab the tears I can make the potion. We can stop her at the kingdom of Maremuda but the guards half to be ready. And we will not a lot of them” Star looked towards the elements before sighing. Twilight aimed a rock towards her.

“Your hiding something. I know that look! Selene had the same look when she was” Twilight growled. Star noticed the sea was getting uncontrolled.

“First off calm down.”

“Why should I calm down!”

“Because you are the heart of the sea!” this made Twilight stop as the others were staying quiet.

“You called her that long ago”

“When the mind forgets the heart does not. Twilight you are Selene’s heart. You are the heart of the sea. You can control it just like Selene. if you weren’t for her heart she would have completely harmed you. She held back. There is no barrier here Twilight and the Elder knows that.” Star glared towards Elder Sol “Twilight she was holding back. she saw you with the others that is why she stopped. You hold power over her that no one does. She stopped when you called her.” Star was looking towards Twilight as Celestia shook her head.

“I am getting lost”

“Same”

“Roseate explain” Triton huffed as the merpony sighed.

“We ponies of the sea have no heart! We are born with no heart. It is said that King Atlas's heart was ripped from him when he was sent away with his ponies. Ever since then it is said that the ruler of the sea is born without a heart. For their heart is born on land causing them to wait in the sea forever. None of the rulers of the sea ever been on land. I never went to land my husband did. Selene is the first one.”

“But how do you know you were born without one?” Luna spoke up as Star rubbed her hoof.

“I may have opened myself up on a whim with Skelly at my side. We were both shocked when I couldn’t find my heart.” She smiled as Celestia shook her head.

“Please do not give my student ideas” she groaned as the others chuckled a bit.

“So what do we do? If she has no heart how do we take her down?”

“I don’t know” Star looked towards the ground

“What do you mean you don’t know” Luna spoke up as Star held her hooves up.

“Look as of right now the witches do not know she is missing a heart. They do not know of the story as my late husband erased everything. The protection that I placed on Selene gave her a fake heart that looks and acts real. As of right now, we keep Twilight safe while the islanders keep the twins safe. We have the upper hoof. For now, get to Maremuda. Once there Twilight meet me on the training field” Star disappeared leaving the others to stare at Twilight.

“Hey don’t look at me” she snapped as Elder Sol placed his hoof on her shoulder. He smiled softly at her. Twilight sighed as she got to her hooves walking towards the shore. She stopped at the line of the water before taking a deep breath before jumping in.

“I think that is her answer” Luna spoke up as she got to her hooves and followed Twilight. The others followed Twilight changing into their tails as Celestia stood up walking to her sister.

“Is it weird? I’ve never seen this side of my student before” Celestia looked towards her hooves.

“I wish I could give you two tails Celestial sisters” Triton spoke up as he was holding his broken trident.

“We will fly to Mount Aires from here”

“Like hell” Discord stood up stretching his arms. He had a grin on his face as he cracked his knuckles. He held his lion paw out snapping his fingers. Celestia and Luna's hind legs were changed with long koi-like tails. Celestia was white with orange and yellow spots while Luna had white and light blue spots. They turned towards each other and shrugged before entering the water. Elder Sol watched as they disappeared into the ocean causing him to shake his head. He looked back towards his wife holding the twins that were staring.

“Wk faht (Work Father)” NiTa spoke up as Elder Sol shook his head.

“Peka fk Kiadre. Takn ce skulls (Pray for Queen of Sea. Take care children)” he smiled as he walked over to the twins. NiTa sighed as he looked towards the ocean.

Selene was moving along the ocean floor the fish and the other creatures were moving away from her. She stopped along the trench unnerved from the darkness below. Filling her lungs with water she moved down into the darkness. Something was calling her and she was following it. Moving along the trenches she noticed many of the witches were watching her from the caves along the walls. She was unmoved as a few started to follow her as she came to a large opening. Witches were moving along different caves trading and dealing out their goods. They all stopped with Selene entered the area. The whispers stopped as well causing her to huff.

“So the queens filled their promise” one of the larger witches spoke up. She moved into Selene’s field of vision. She looked like the others in the area but she had a large dark blue ribbon wrapped up in her mane.

“And you are?” Selene growled as she gripped her trident.

“ whatever you never be my” she was stopped as Selene smacked her across the face with her trident.

“I don’t care who you are. Get in my way when we take over Maremuda and I will make sure you are the first one dead” she smiled as she held her trident up.

“you got some fight in ya. At least the old bags didn’t catch an old sea” she stopped as she noticed the gem on Selene’s back “Fuck they captured the fucking queen of the sea” she shouted causing the others to whisper.

“Is that a bad thing?” Selene glared towards her as the sea witch shook her head.

“No, I am sapphire. I have been holding this little village down. Told by the long past sea witch elders they nabbed a powerful merpony.” Sapphire looked down at Selene who was still holding her trident.

“Well, are you going to stand there or find me a bed to lay on? I was in a fight with Roseate” she growled as Sapphire nodded.

“You can have the old castle” Sapphire moved towards the wall as Selene followed till they got to a large wall filled with silver and gold ore running through the cracks. Selene entered the castle noticing the marble floors and walls as the throne room was caved from snowflake obsidian while the pillars were marble. Sapphire bowed before leaving. Selene let out a sigh as she moved through the castle noticing the next room was filled with books from the top of the cave to the bottom. A large circle bed was in the middle filled with pillows and blankets.

“Twilight would love this place”

“You are really thinking about that bitch?”

“I told you to leave her alone or should I continue to fight?” Selene let a huff out as she heard the witch laugh and cackle in her ears. As she was looking up she noticed a version of herself with pure black eyes with black tears running down her cheeks. Her teeth were sharp as fangs while her coat was white as snow. Her black mane had bonefish swimming around.

“This is what I will turn you into. This is what will rule the sea” the sea witch growled as Selene turned around.

“You know they will stop you”

“I want to see them try” The sea witch disappeared leaving Selene a moment to herself. Placing the trident down she floated up to the top and pulled a book from the shelf. Opening the book she noticed that it wasn’t transferred over. The words were too far gone for her to transfer anything from land to sea. Moving from book to book it was almost the same causing her to sigh. Sitting on a pile of books Selene closed her eyes allowing herself to rest. This allowed the witch to take over. Sapphire walked in bowing as she had a plate of kelp.

“Sapphire is it?” she had a smile as the sea witch nodded.

“Do me a favor will you?” Selene smiled as Sapphire stood up.

“Yes I will”

“Good. There is a mare in Maremuda. Purple probably surrounded by others. Make sure you” her hoof flew up and smacked her right cheek.

“Do you want me to fight?”

“No” the witch growled as she looked towards Sapphire.

“Gather the witches. We will march on Maremuda” the sea witch bowed leaving Selene alone.

“I am not going to give the surface dwellers any time”
