A Merpony's Adventure

For the last few days, Selene was helping the islanders gather fish and supplies from the sea. she was also acting as a lookout for the ship since she could spot it easier. While looking out for the ship she ran messages and supplies from island to island. It became routine till she noticed a large wooden ship pull into the center of the islands. It had large white sails with light blue banners with the sun sitting in the middle of them. Gold trim was running along the railing causing Selene to move to the island. Pulling herself on land.

“NiTa Ship!” she shouted causing the islanders to move to shore. Selene jumped back into the water watching as smaller boats landed in the water. She stayed out of sight watching as Celestia flew from the larger ship to the island. Selene followed her staying out of sight. Her ears were the only thing you could see from the island.

“Sun!” NiTa smiled as Celestia landed onshore.

“NiTa where is Elder Sol we have supplies he requested” she looked around as the islanders looked down.

“Elder Sol is in the land of the spirits. I am now Elder” he smiled as Celestia looked towards him.

“I am sorry for your lost”

“Thank you sun. But we had a request”

“Oh?”

“New islander wants to meet you” he smiled as he pointed towards the ears in the water “She shy” he waved his hoof in the air causing Selene to wave her tail.

“A merpony?” she chuckled as NiTa sighed.

“I pull you from the sea. get up her meet sun!” he shouted causing her fins to raise from the sea. Selene lifted her head a bit allowing only her eyes to be seen. She pointed up towards the sun as her fins slapped the water.

“She acting weird. I know some merponies act this way from Krill” he sighed. He watched Selene staying in the water. He watched as the boats moved towards shore. Some were carrying boxes of food but what caught Selene’s eyes were crystals. They were mixed in with books that were tied to another boat. She moved towards the boat looking up at the crystals.

“Hey” the pony on the boat held up a rower causing Selene to scatter.

“The merponies are trying to steal the gems” the pony shouted again as NiTa groaned. He shook his head as he looked towards Celestia.

“Since islander won’t get on land. Elder’s last wish. Take Kiadre with you” Celestia looked down at him.

“You sure? Wasn’t this her wish to be laid to rest?”

“It was” he turned towards the sea causing him to nod to it. Selene jumped out of the water trying to take a crystal but the pony on the boat whacked her on the head.

“Kiadre!” NiTa shouted as Selene appeared rubbing her head. She sighed as she moved towards shore blushing. Moving her mane she looked up and pointed towards Celestia.

“Not sun”

“Pony controls sun. She takes you to the surface” NiTa looked towards Selene who stared at him.

“She wants to take me to land?” Selene looked up as Celestia nodded. Selene moved her fins as she looked towards NiTa.

“Who keeps islanders safe?”

“We will keep each other safe. Go live your dream. Elder Sol’s last wish for you. He made bag up for you as well” NiTa turned and walked off as Selene sat there in silence. She turned and looked up towards Celestia. Leaning in she poked the white pony.

“have fur like islanders, not orcas” she huffed as Celestia looked down at Selene.

“Well, Selene we will have a nice time on the boat” she smiled as Selene stared at her.

“Do I know you?” she leaned in as NiTa walked back with a bag filled with potions and books. NiTa placed some grilled fish and pork in the bag before handing it to Selene.

“She knows my name” her ears went up as NiTa smiled as he nodded.

“Kiadre is popular among islands. Sun comes now and then. Legends of Kiadre are told. You Kiadre” he smiled as he patted her head. Celestia looked towards the other ponies.

“While the other ponies are getting supplies, I can take you to the ship allowing you to explore” she smiled as Selene nodded. She took the bag placing it in a bubble. Taking the bubble she moved back into the sea as Celestia held her wing out. As Selene moved towards the ship Celestia looked down at NiTa.

“When did she wake up? I never got a notice”

“She woke up night father walked with spirits. She has been helping here on the island. Doesn’t remember” he looked up at Celestia who sighed. Spreading her wings she took off towards the ship. Once she landed on the deck she noticed Selene was walking around with her magic on. The bag NiTa gave her was attached to her back.

“How about I show you to the room you can use on the way back” Celestia smiled as she walked down into the ship’s haul. Selene followed as she noticed ponies were going back and forth carrying different items on their backs. She stayed silent as Celestia took her to the back room where a large circle bed was sitting with tons of pillows and blankets piled high. Selene placed her bag down as she walked around the room.

“You can explore the ship while I get things taken care of on the island” she smiled as Selene looked back towards her. She waited till Celestia was gone before moving from the room. She sighed as she decided to move from room to room till a small whistle caught her attention. Moving from below deck she walked on top noticing the sails were down. NiTa was waving at her as the others gathered around. Celestia landed on the deck.

“Open Sails! We're moving out!” the captain yelled from above causing Selene to look up. The rope is watch caught her eye as she walked around the deck. For the first few hours, Selene stayed on deck in the shadows watching the islands disappear. Her tail was moving behind her as her ears went up. Turning around she noticed Celestia walking up behind her.

“It never gets easier leaving your home” Celestia glanced down at Selene.

“The home I was born to be easy to leave. The home that I was welcomed into with open hooves yes” she sighed as she stretched her hooves looking up towards the sun.

“How do you know me? Your not pink sugar? Or angry fruit” she tilted her head as Celestia looked down at her.

“Pink Suga? Angry fruit?”

“Oh, I don’t know. When I try to remember when I left. I remember this pink sugar and it scares me. Along with this orange angry fruit. I don’t know you” she blinked as Celestia smiled.

“You do not half to rush to know me.” She brushed her wings along Selene’s head. this caused the merpony to huff. Her cheeks puffed up as she watched Celestia enter the deck. Turning around she noticed the island was gone. Getting up she placed her magic on allowing her hind legs to appear. As she entered below deck she was stopped by a weird chaotic creature with his hands on his hips. He had an apron on with baby toys hanging out of his pockets. His mane was in a bun as he glared towards Celestia.

“We need to talk Celestia” he growled as Selene stayed quiet.

“Discord not”

“No now. Twilight is losing it. Every time she looks at the twins she starts crying and locks herself away. Next trip you are sending her! Or you will take her mind and” he stopped as Selene poked his back. Selene was poking his back as she was looking at the scales and fur of his body.

“Excuse me but we are talking here” he huffed thinking it was another pony touching his back. Selene looked up at Discord.

“Sink. You were covered in flour. Which is not real flowers but spelled the same” she watched as he turned around. Selene was tilting her head as she blinked “Where did that come from and why do I know that?” she rubbed her head as she shrugged. Placing her magic back on she walked around.

“I’m going to go read in the bedroom” she walked past Celestia who glared at Discord. Unknown to them Selene hid in a nearby room staying silent.

“She awake! When were you going to send word!”

“I just left the island with her Discord. How in the world am I going to send word to my sister if I get interrupted by the creature of chaos! Besides she doesn’t remember much” Celestia glared at Discord.

“Maybe if I can”

“No messing with her memories Discord! I will have Krill and Kibby look her over once we are on land.” She sighed as she shook her head “Just let the others know she's awake” Celestia turned around as Discord disappeared. As Celestia turned around Selene was standing behind her.

“Selene”

“So I knew you two?” she blinked up at Celestia as she had tears in her eyes. Celestia sighed as she waved her wing towards Selene as she walked down towards the bedroom.

“I know you and so does he. Your mother is our sister. The last time I heard about you was from your father” she smiled as Selene looked up towards her.

“Mother said she was a surface pony. By her stories, I did not think her sisters were mixed match creatures” Celestia tried to hide her snicker.

“Discord is your mother’s brother. Your mother’s younger sister is named Luna. She controls the moon. You will see her when we land” Selene nodded at the words as she turned her head. her ears twitched as she felt something appearing above them. Celestia cursed a bit as Selene turned around and walked towards the deck. Celestia followed stopping Selene before she reached the deck.

“Stay here” she ordered the merpony causing her to stop. Celestia walked on the deck noticing her sister with the elements of harmony.

“What are you doing here?” she walked closer to Luna.

“Discord told us that she was awake”

“She is”

“So where is she?” Luna tapped her hoof on the deck.

“She is in the deck below but no pony is to see her till Kibby looked her over”

“What happened” As Luna was yelling at her sister Pinkie Pie snuck off towards the bowls of the ship. Selene was walking around the ship exploring it still.

“Selene!” Pinkie yelled causing the merpony to turn around. her eyes widen as she took a step back.

“Oh, pink sugar” her fins flexed as she jumped past Pinkie Pie and ran. Pinkie followed the merpony chasing her onto the deck. Selene went to the right climbing the rope up towards the pillar holding the mast.

“Pinkie” Celestia snapped as the merpony looked down at the ponies in the group. The pink mare calmed down and hid behind Luna.

“Sister your not yourself”

“Selene doesn’t remember us. She thought Discord was you” Celestia looked towards the group as Selene stayed silent before climbing down. She moved towards Celestia slinking along the deck. She tapped Celestia’s side pointing towards Pinkie.

“Pink sugar! And Angry fruit” she moved her hoof towards Applejack causing Rainbow Dash to laugh “She is ego on wings or fins. Do you call these fins?” she held up Celestia’s wings causing the elder mare to smile.

“They are wings. Also, it's not nice to call your friends that”

“Friends? Do I have friends? I mean I have one friend from the surface. But I haven’t met her since she was small fish” she dropped Celestia’s wing from her hoof. Celestia let out a small chuckle. Selene looked towards the others before turning around and entering the deck. The others looked towards Celestia who sighed.

“I was going to let Kibby and Krill look her over before you see her” Celestia looked towards her sister and the group. However, she noticed that something was off.

“The twins are missing” Discord spoke up as he let out a tired groan.

“Let Twilight”

“She not here” the group spoke up as Celestia looked towards them.

“Your student hasn’t slept in almost a month. Between saving the world and having the twins. I finally got her to sleep before dragging the others here” Discord groaned as he disappeared. As he went off to search for the twins Selene was on her way towards the bedroom. Dusk and Celestial appeared in front of her with their hooves up at her. Selene moved towards them leaning her head down to them. she nuzzled them both before picking them up. Looking them over they were both of proper weight. Placing them on her back she went around the ship asking who they belong to. None of the ponies knew anything about them. She walked back towards the bedroom releasing her magic. the twins rolled from her back and onto the bed laughing. Moving her tail around them she watched as their eyes blinked at her.

“I know you two. You are Dusk” her hoof pulled the little colt towards her “and you are Celestial” her hoof pulled the filly towards her. They both nuzzled her before settling down and resting. Pulling her tail around them she let out a yawn. Selene laid her head down by the twins as Discord appeared in the room. He noticed the twins were wrapped up in her tail. Dusk has his fins up causing Discord back up.

“Okay” he disappeared from the room and reappeared on the deck “Found the twins. They found Selene” he smiled as Celestia shook her head.

“Okay, you all head back.”

“but we”

“Need to be around when Twilight wakes up. I can handle the twins since Selene is around” she smiled as Luna nodded as she grabbed Discord in her magic before disappearing from the deck. Celestia looked towards the captain who bowed towards her.

“We are on course princess. we should arrive in Trottingham in a day if the wind stays like this” he smiled as Celestia nodded.

“I will be in the guest room. make sure no pony bothers the main room. they need to stay asleep and stress-free” Celestia turned and walked into the bowls. Selene was in a mixture of sleep and not sleep as the twins were doing the same. Most of the time they were in a playful mood. The chefs would bring Selene some shredded coconuts and some milk for the twins. Mixing the pork with the coconut she was happy. The twins were happy with some coconut milk. The twins were taking up most of her time allowing the days to move by faster.

“Selene” Celestia walked in as the twins were laying up against her asleep. The merpony looked up towards her. Her eyes were glazed over as she blinked.

“Where is Twilight the twins are ready for bed” she spoke up causing Celestia to freeze. She watched as Selene blinked a bit her eyes returning to normal.

“Selene?”

“Oh, Celestia. Can I help you” she smiled as Celestia nodded.

“We made it to land. I have a train car ready to take us to Canterlot” she smiled as Selene looked up at her.

“The others aren’t going to be there?”

“Do you want”

“No…no. When I think of them or think of their faces my head hurts” she looked up towards Celestia who nodded.

“Very well.” She smiled as Selene got up picking the twins up. She placed them on her back before picking her bag up. She walked out from the bowels of the ship to see a large city with many ponies flying around causing her to gasp.

“Wow ponies swim in the sky”

“It’s called flying. Now we will take the” she stopped as Selene made some water pillars appear allowing her to walk across the harbor. She was busy focusing on the city around her she was ignoring the stares from the ponies on land. Once her hooves touched the dock she finally noticed the ponies staring. Her fins went up hiding the twins on her back. she smiled as Celestia landed beside her.

“Shall we?” she kept her smile holding her wing out.
