Mac the pony and Maya the siren had arrived at Southern Shelf and the first thing they saw was ice, just more ice and Mac was getting tired of it, that and Bullymongs.

They were currently inside an ice cave. “Bloody ice.” Mac muttered to himself.

Maya heard him and could help but giggle. “You are right about that.” She then decided to ask him a question. “What’s your story? Why travel to Pandora to become a Vault Hunter?”

Mac wasn’t sure if he wanted to tell her, considering he didn’t know her that well. “Tell you what, if I tell you my reason, you will tell yours.”

Maya nodded. “Deal.”

Mac stop and so did she, he started to tell his reason. “Let’s see here, my parents and my granny died five years ago. I lost my house and farm to the bank because I did not manged to pay what my parents owed them, and my so calls friends didn’t even bother to help me. They just said, you got this Mac.” Maya couldn’t help but feel bad for him. “A few days before the bank was about to take my house, I found an ECHO device at the local post office in my town. I heard the recording about the vault. Then said fuck it, I packed up my things and left. There was nothing left for me.”

“What about the rest of your family? Why didn’t you ask them for help?” Maya asked her.

“I did and they didn’t want to help me, they said that my parents got themselves into the mess and it was my job to fix it. I couldn’t, even my little sister didn’t want to help me.”

Maya was shocked to hear what he said, that his own family didn’t want to help him. “I am sorry Mac I didn’t mean to bring up bad memory.”

He just shrugged it off. “Don’t worry about it, I tried not to think about it. I told you my reason, your turn.”

“Well, my reason for coming to Pandora is that I want to learn more about my Sirens lineage. You see, most of my life I lived with some monks that called themselves Order of the Impending Storm, they help me trained my powers and they saw me as their goddess and saviour. I eventually found out that they were using me to scare other people to give them money and obedience. I eventually killed their leader, left Athenas and now I am hear.”

Maya’s reason wasn’t as bad as Mac’s, but it was still bad, beginning used by an order just to scare a planet just so they could take advantage of the people there. It was pretty messed up.

“Sorry to hear that.”

She did was Mac did, just shrugged her shoulders. “Don’t be, I am glad I left those assholes. Although, this planet is probably even worse than mine. Thanks to that jackass Jack.” Mac agreed on that one. They counited to walk.

Eventually they arrived at a cliff and they saw holes in the ice and Bullymongs, they crouched down so they wouldn’t get spotted right away. There were small once, medium and big once.

“What should we do, take them out?” Maya asked Mac in a whispering tone.

“I’ll take them out, you stay here.” He whispered back.

Maua was offended when she heard that. “Just so you know, I don’t need protection.”

“Protection has nothing to about it, just stay here.”

Before she could say anything ells, Mac got up and took a few steps back. She then saw that Mac started to run towards the cliff, at the end of the cliff he jump of it and landed not far from Bullymongs. “Hey, you fucking wandering fur balls, over here.” They then charge him.

Maya was about to help him but stopped when it looked like Mac started to glow, out of curiosity, she decided to watch and see what happened. She got a shock when she saw what happened next, Mac kicked one of the big one and it flew at least ten feet in the air, when it landed it did not move. Then some of the small one attack Mac, he punched them so hard that he actually killed them with one punch. One tried to jump at him, but Mac just punch him the face, while the Bullymong was in the air, stop it dead in the track.

Maya just watch the whole thing and the only thing she could think about hoe sexy that pony was, she was getting turn on by of strong he was, she was getting a little horny. She was brought out of her thoughts when he was finished with them, she got up and jump down the cliff, she then ran to him.

When she arrived, she just looked at the dead Bullymong, at least she thinks they are dead.

“How did you do that?” She asked him.

“Do what?”

“This.” She gestured to the dead Bullymong that was lying around them. “You took out at least eight Bullymongs without breaking a sweat, I have never seen anything like it.”

“I am earth pony and we are known when it comes to strength.”

She believe him. “Then why were you glowing?”

Mac looked at her with a confusing look. “I was glowing?” Maya nodded. Mac scratch his head. “I have never done that before.” He the shrugged his shoulders. “Oh well.” He then started to walk towards the bridge, leaving a very confusing Maya.

“Wait a minute.” She walk after him. “Aren’t you a little curious why you glowed?” She asked him.

“I am guessing that I have some magic in me, but I am not an expert when it comes to this stuff. One of my former friends would probably know why but he isn’t here.” He rubbed his forehead. “Can we talk about this another time? I want find this midget that is riding the Bullymong.” Maya decided to respect what he said.

When they reached the bridge, Mac pulled the lever that made the raft move. Once on it, Maya pulled the lever on the raft and they were on the other side. They had to walk up some stairs and on the top, they saw a bunch of building and their destination, Blackburn cave.

“So, this is where this Midge Mon is.” Said Mac

“I guess so.”

They saw a bridge that was submerge under water and they had to pull a lever to expand it, unfortunately for them there were bandit on the other side with weapons. One it was expand they were in for a fight.
Mac got ready his assault rifle while Maya got ready something that looked like a miniature version of an assault rifle. “What’s that?” He asked her.

“It’s bandit submachine gun or SMG for short, it’s not as powerful as assault rifle, but it gets the job done, at short range. If it that don’t work, I can just take out my gun.” Mac just nodded. “Then pull the leaver.” He did and the bridge raised.

One of the bandits was leaning towards the wall, he was bored. He notice that the bridge raised. “What the fuck?” He then looked at the other side and saw a female and a pony running across the bridge. He then shouted. “HEY, WE GOT VAULT HUNTERS COMING OVER…” That was all he could say before Mac put a bulled into his skull.

Even that Mac managed to kill the bandit, the others was alerted. “Here they come.” He was right, out of the buildings that was just across the bridge, came out two more bandit. Mac killed one while Maya took out the other one.

They both hide behind the first house and Mac took a look around the corner. He saw no activate. “It’s look like they didn’t hear him shout or the shots.” He told Maya.

“We should be careful we are still outnumber.” Mac agreed with that.

Mac step out from the corner with his assault rifle raised and ready to fire, Maya followed him. They had to cross another bridge, there was a house on their left that they hide behind. Mac took a look around the corner of the house, he told Maya was he saw. “I can see at least three bandits and three psychos, they haven’t notice us yet.”

“Can you use your sniper rifle to take one of them out?” Maya asked him.

“If I did, a hell would break loss.” He looked at her. “See is you can get around the other side of the house.” She nodded and went the other way it didn’t take long before she returned.

“No good, the way is block.”

“There goes that idea.” Mac though for a moment. “Alright, new plan. You see those two barrels up ahead?”

Mac and Maya switch position so the siren could see around the corner. “Yeah, I see them.”

“Try and sneak up to the barrels while I position myself behind that box.” Maya saw the box he was talking about, it was ‘leaning’ against the wall. “I will take up position there and take them out with my sniper rifle while you take them out from the barrels.”

Maya like the plan. “I can do that.” She walked around the corner and headed towards the barrels, also nothing trying to be seen.

Mac watch her go and couldn’t help but think that she had a sexy ass, he shook his head. ‘Focus Mac.’ He followed her and took up position behind the box. He waited for Maya to get in position, strangely enough, none of the bandits or the psychos saw or notice her. ‘Are they idiots?’ He though while aiming his sniper rifle at one of the bandits. “Nighty night.” He took the shout and his head disappeared.

Before anyone could react, Maya revealed herself from here she was hiding. She just her Siren power to life one of the psychos in the air, she then killed it with her gun. Mac reloaded as fast as head could, he took aim at another one and managed to hit a bandit straight in chest, the bullet went through. Maya managed to take out the rest with putting a bullet in their skull.

Once they were all dead, Mac walked out from the box and walk to Maya. He looked at her ‘work’. “Remember me not to piss you off.”

She gave him a sly smile. “Don’t worry about that handsome.” Somehow, that made Mac blush and he was relieved that he had red fur.

Mac rubbed his neck. “Well, back to the task. There’s no way that the rest of the bandits didn’t hear the gun shots, we are probably up for a fight.” As soon as Mac said those words, a psycho came running towards them. Maya took him out with a bullet to the head.

Mac put away the sniper rifle and got ready the assault rifle while Maya got read her SMG, they had one hell of a fight coming for them.

They crossed the bridge to their right and as they did, more psychos came charging at them. Mac fired first and he managed to hit some of them, Maya took out he rest. Then they arrived at large opened place and there were more enemy’s to kill. After taking care of them, they had to climb higher on some roof tops. They took care of the enemy’s there to until they reach their destination, a couple of double doors.

Once there, Mac was ready to kick the doors in when they suddenly opened with force and a middles side Bullymong came out, riding it was a midget.

Hammerlock. “Ah, what an unlikely symbiotic relationship, two deadly creatures cooperating to survive this harsh environment! Also, the midget looks like a little human backpack, and that’s funny.”

“You have a weird sense when it comes to humour Hammerlock.” Said Mac as he got up after he was knock down by the doors.

Hammerlock. “Hm, I guess so.”

Once the conversation was over, Mac and Maya headed after the Bullymong who had moved a floor down. They chase it and fired shoots after but the Bullyomng keep leaping away, that made them miss.

“Dame it, it won’t stand still.” Mac looked over to Maya. “Can you use your ability to stop them?” He asked her.

“Yes, but they have to be close.”

Mac nodded. “Alright, I’ll chase after it and force them towards you, once you have them trap, we kill them.” Maya like the plan.

Mac jump down a floor and started to chase the midget the was riding the Bullmong, she watch as those two jump from place to place and Mac chasing after them. Mac managed eventually to get the Bullymong close enough so Maya could lock them in the air, once she had done that, they fired enough bullets into the Bullyomg and midget to make a swiss cheese.

Hammerlock. “Wonderful! That fracas was most helpful to my studies on Bullymong social structures. Return to me at your earlies convenience.”

Maya walked over to the corpse and kick it. “That Hammerlock, he has some weird ways to study other creatures.”

Mac nodded. “You got that right, let’s head back.” And they did.

Before they left Southern Shelf, Mac decided to ask Maya something. “So, did a woman guide you here?”

“You mean the women that appeared in my ECHO device after the explosion?” Mac nodded. “Yes, and what’s with her? She says that we are the only one who can stop Handsome Jack, for doing whatever he is doing.”

“I have no idea what she is planning but one thing is for sure, I don’t like begging used, it has happened to me before and I didn’t like it. Once we are off the glacier, I am going to ask her.” With that said, they left Southern Shelf.

Author's Note

Time to explain what Mac's skill is; I call it inner strength. What it does is let Mac tap into his inner earth pony streng and that gives him a boost, he becomes strong, faster and he doesn't get tired while using his skill. It only last for about fifteen seconds, but he can do a lot of damage in that time.

Now, a little information about Mac. He's older than the Mac in the show, he was about thirty two when Dusk Shine came to Ponyville. He is thirty six in the this story.
