My Little Pony: Escape From Earth
Ch.3 The Show
Previous ChapterNext Chapter(Backstage)
A woman named Rebecca walked down the hallway. She was making sure that the staff would be ready for the show, then Beegle, Mikey & Sarah walked by. She noticed Jason wasn’t with them. “Where’s Jason?” She then activated her walkie talkie. “Does anyone have a 20 on Jason? No? Dammit! Just perfect!” She continued down the hall, when the manager; Ben, started following her.
“Rebecca?” He said. “Rebecca, you have a minute?”
“No, the show’s about to start and I’m a kid short.” Rebecca replied
“Well I was gonna do this gently, but since you’re in a rush, I’m canceling the show.”
“...What!?” Rebecca asked.
Ben shrugged “Yeah you’ve probably heard about my promotion this morning.”
“No I haven’t I’ve been busy”
“Oh have you?” Ben asked. “Well guess what? I’m the vice president of the program now, and the Human Bunch doesn’t really go with my idea of a bright future.”
“Are you kidding!? We’re still a huge hit!”
“Maybe, but it’s childish and stupid. I mean the stars are damn kids for God’s sake. I want to do something cool and cheesy, so today’s your last show.” Ben responded.
“But we have tapings lined up for 3 weeks.” Rebecca pointed out.
Ben leaned forward. “Not anymore.” He then turned and walked away. Afterwards Rebecca walked to the breakroom and saw Jason sitting and writing.
“Somebody find Cal and tell him to get Jason on stage.” She said into the Walkie Talkie. She then walked away, unaware that Jason had been listening.
(Show Stage)
Barb and her agent walked out onto the stage and greeted the audience. “Hello everybody and welcome to the Human Bunch!” She said as the audience cheered. “Now, I want you all to check your tickets because we have an extra treat for some of you. If you have any stars on the back, you’re in luck. You get to stay after the show and meet the Human Bunch!”
“And Stevie” her agent whispered to her.
“And Stevie. Don’t forget Stevie.” Barb said
“Twilight hurry up!” Spike said, eager to check the tickets.
“I know Spike I’m checking.”
Then out of nowhere they heard a familiar voice. “YES! We got the the stars sister!” Twilight recognized that voice. It was Celestia, sitting between Discord and Luna.
“Celestia!” Twilight exclaimed. Happy to see her mentor.
“Twilight! My faithful student, how have you been?”
“Great! We’re celebrating Spike’s birthday. Oh yeah! That’s right, the tickets!” Twilight said as she reached into her saddlebags. Neighsay and Poppy just checked their tickets and saw that they have stars.
“Oh my God! Neighsay…”
“Poppy, we are gonna meet the bunch!” Neighsay said then kissing Poppy. Twilight then pulled out the tickets, and to Spike’s disappointment, they had no stars. Spike sighed in disappointment.
“It’s okay Spike.” Twilight said. Fluttershy felt a little bad for Spike. She then looked to her left to see Barb talking with her agent. Seeing this, Fluttershy started to think and came up with an idea. The camera crew then started filming.
The announcer then spoke. “Tidal Wave Studios Presents; The Human Bunch!” The audience cheers. “Starring: Beegle,” Beegle walks onto the stage through a door, waving at the audience. “Sarah,” Sarah slides into the stage bumping into Beegle. “Mikey,” Mikey swings on a rope knocking Sarah and Beegle to the ground as the audience laughs. “Jason!” Jason doesn’t appear on stage. “Jason!” The announcer repeats but Jason still doesn’t appear. “Jason?” Backstage Stevie was on a tricycle holding a lollipop next to Rebecca.
“Where the Hell is he!?” Stevie asked.
“Just go out there and say Jason got stuck in Mr. Walker’s fence again.” Rebecca replied.
The announcer continued, “And featuring; Stevie!” Stevie opens the door and rides his tricycle onto the stage next to Beegle, Sarah, & Mikey, then waves at the audience.
“Is that a grown man dressed like a child?” Flash asked Spike.
“That’s Stevie. Nobody really likes him.” Spike responded.
Stevie then turned to the bunch. “Guys, we have to get Jason out of mister Walkers fence. Again.” The audience laughs at that comment and cheers as Stevie and the bunch waves at them.
“Our first scene will begin in a few minutes folks! Sit tight.” Fluttershy then got up and turned to Twilight.
“Twilight, I hope you don’t mind. I have something to do.” She said
“Don’t be long.” Twilight said as Fluttershy walked off. Then a couple of 10 year olds are on stage running the slimy time challenge. They run through an obstacle course avoiding slime and pies thrown by the Human Bunch.
“Twilight, I need to check in with Shining Armor.” Flash told Twilight.
“Really? It’s Spike’s birthday.”
“Don’t worry, it’s just real quick.” Flash assured her
“Can’t you go one day without thinking of work? Besides your not supposed to have your phone out.” Twilight pointed out.
“I’ll just go to the restroom and use it there.”
“Okay, just don’t take too long.” Twilight said.
When the obstacle course was over, Rebecca was backstage looking for Stevie. “For the love of God, where is Stevie? He’s in the next scene.” She then turned to Barb and told her to go look for Stevie. Barb nodded and walked off.
(Stevie’s Dressing Room)
Barb knocked on the door to Stevie’s room. “Stevie?” She walked in to see Stevie drinking beer. “Are you drunk?” she asked.
“No, I’m buzzed.” He responded. “After this, I’ll be drunk.” He said as he pointed to his drink. “Want some?”
“Come on, we need you on set!”
“Come on, have a drink with me.” Stevie responded
“Stevie, seriously! We need-”
“They waited for the kids. They can wait for me.” Stevie interrupted. He then took a sip of his drink. “You know, that uniform of yours is really working out for you. It’s working for me to.” Barb was not amused. Then Fluttershy entered the room.
“Um, excuse me.” She said
“Ma’am I’m not signing any autographs right now.” Stevie interrupted
“Um, okay, but I was actually wanting to talk to Barb.” Fluttershy responded. Stevie set down his cup and pushed both Barb and Fluttershy out of his room.
“Tell Rebecca I will be there soon, right on que! As always!” Stevie said and then slammed the door shut.
“I’m sorry if I got you into any trouble.” Fluttershy apologized.
“Nah, it’s nothing. It’s just that one of our performers is a big dick.” Barb answered as they walked down the hallway. She then turned to Fluttershy. “Y-You’re from the audience. You’re not supposed to be back here.”
“I know and I’m sorry. It’s just that it’s my friend’s birthday, and he’s crazy about the show, but we didn’t get stars on our tickets. I was hoping I could pay you to let us meet the bunch.” Fluttershy asked.
Barb thought for a moment. “If it means that much for your friend, I’ll see what I can do.”
“Thanks.” Fluttershy said. They both started walking back to the audience area.
Stevie was getting ready for the next scene. He put on a golden tuxedo, and looked in the mirror. “Showtime bitches.” He said before taking one last sip of his drink and throwing the glass away. He then exits the dressing room and walks by Ben’s office. Then he hears Ben talking on the phone.
“Glenn, I told you to stop. The show is canceled.” Ben said. “Yes, I told Rebecca and she was pissed. Ask me if I care. Of course I don’t! This show takes up more than 2 stages. Not to mention what we can do with all the tech we have. As for those kids, we’re going to sell them. The Human Bunch is done, it’s my call! Oh and one more thing: LIVE WITH IT!!!” He said before hanging up. Stevie was glad to hear this. Truth be told, he hated his job, hated the disrespect he got for acting, and worst of all: he hated those 4 kids he worked with. He walked off smiling. Ben laughed, happy that they were finally going to do a show his way, but suddenly: “THUMP!” Ben could’ve sworn he heard that outside the office window. He got up and walked towards it slowly. As soon as he reached the window, the office door slammed shut. He turned towards the door. “HEY!” He shouted. Then he walked over to the door to open it, but it was locked. “ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?” Ben said. “WHAT THE HELL’S GOING ON!?!?” He then heard that noise near his window again and walked toward it. When he got there he reached for the curtain and pulled it open, and what he saw startled him. Mikey was right outside the window staring at Ben. He suddenly felt something grab him by the arm and was pulled away.
(Show Stage)
The show was almost over and Jason and Mikey brought a spinning wheel onto the stage. The audience cheers and Stevie arrives on stage. “Hey everybody!” He greeted. “It’s time to spin… the Wheel of Endings!” The audience cheers again.
“I wonder how the show’s gonna end?” Mikey said
Spike turns to Smolder. “It’s gonna land on ‘Rock Out.’ they always land on that.” He told her. Stevie turns to Jason.
“Why don’t you spin it Jason?” Stevie asked. Then he walks over to Jason and whispers, “It might be the last time you ever do!” and smiles.
Jason was silent for a moment. Then he turned to Stevie. “Okay Stevie.” He said. Jason then put his hand on the wheel and started spinning it.
The audience began to chant, “Rock Out! Rock Out! Rock Out! Rock Out!” The wheel spun for 12 seconds until it landed on ‘Rock Out’. The audience cheers as Stevie and the Human Bunch got their instruments and started singing.
Tra la la, tra la la la
Tra la la, tra la la la
One kiddo, two kiddo, three kiddo, four
Four kiddos make a total many more
Over hill and highway, the bunch buggies go
Come along to bring you the Human Bunch show
Picking up our mess of fun
Picking up our mess of fun
Lots of fun for everyone
Tra la la, tra la la la
Tra la la, tra la la la
As the song continued Fluttershy and Flash returned to the audience section. “Where have you been?” Twilight asked Fluttershy.
“You’ll see.” Fluttershy answered as the audience continued to sing along. Then when Stevie was close to Jason, Jason spun and tripped Stevie with his guitar. The audience laughed.
Spike saw this and turned to Twilight. “It seemed on purpose. Jason would never hurt anybody on purpose.” He told her.
“I’m sure it’s just part of the show Spike.” Twilight assured him. The Human Bunch continued their song as Stevie layed on the ground groaning. When the song was over, the kids bowed.
“Give it up for The Human Bunch!” The announcer says as everyone cheers. “And don’t forget Stevie!” Stevie sits up and waves to the cheering audience as he leaves the stage along with the Bunch. Barb then entered the stage with her agent.
“Thank you for coming everyone.” Barb said. “If you have stars on your tickets sit tight, and the rest of you, Doug will show you out.” She says as she pointed to her agent. The audience (excluding Neighsay, Poppy, Celestia, Luna, & Discord) got up and started to follow Doug.
“Are you excited?” Poppy asked Neighsay.
“I sure am.” Neighsay responded
Before Twilight, Spike, Flash, Fluttershy & Smolder could leave Barb stopped them. “Where do you think you’re going?” She asked.
“We don’t have stars on our tickets.” Spike answered.
“Do you really think the Human Bunch wouldn’t want to meet their biggest fan on his birthday?” Barb asked him. Spike looked at Twilight in surprise.
“How did you know?” Twilight asked. After a bit of silence, Twilight and Flash turned to Fluttershy.
“I may have talked to her about it.” Fluttershy answered.
“Well then let’s meet them.” Flash said.
“Follow me.” said Barb. When everyone else was following Barb, Flash checked his phone.
“Uh, I’ll be right behind you.” Flash said before walking off. What can be so important to Flash right now?
