Night of a New Moon

'We are in a cave. How the hey did they make a light to mimic the sun?' I think to myself trying roll-over and get away from the light. When I try and move I feel a wight on my chest. My eyes shoot open and I look down to find Scoots resting her head on my chest.

Looking at her then to the bed I see that its messy so she did use it. She shifts and I start to panic thinking I wok her.

*knock, knock*

'Who the buck would be knocking at this time of day?' I think closing my eyes pretending to sleep.

"Hmmm.. it's to early go away sis." Scoots says goggily curling closer to my side.

*knock, knock*

"Honey, I'm coming in?" I hear mum's voice from the other side of the door.

'NO! BUCK, BUCK, I'M SO BUCKED!' I scream in my head as the door creeks open.

The sound of hooves start getting closer to the back of the sofa. "Honey, I know tha-"

I slowly open one eye seeing mum looking down at the two of us with a shocked expression on her face. The moment her eyes meet mine her expression changes to a scowl.

"Young lady you better have a explanation for this?" Mum tells me still holding her scowl.

"...." I say nothing trying to think of what to tell her.

Scoots starts to shift opening her eyes. She lifts her head slowly looking around the room till she sees mum. She jumps up in a panic falling off the sofa taking the blanket with her.

"Princess Luna!" She says panicked jumping to her hooves and saluting.

Mum makes her way over to a chair as I sit up. Sighing she looks between Scoots and me before speaking. "Now I'm not going to jump to conclusions. Could one of you please for the love of the night tell me what is happening?"

"I...I c-can m-ma'am." Scoots says "L-last night I couldn't sleep. S-so I got on the sofa next to Moon and feel asleep." When she done explaining she's nervously shifting in place.

"I see." Mum says focusing on Scoots. "I must ask. Is it that you aren't good in new places or is it something more?"

I raise a brow at her shooting her a 'What are you doing' look witch she returns with a sly smirk.

"A little of both." Scoots says quietly looking at the floor.

"I'm sorry dear could you speak up?"

Taking a deep breath "A little of both ma'am."

"Well then. would you mind explaining it to me?" She asks with a ear to ear grin.

Scoots blushes almost as red as Big Mac "I-I ki-"

I get up and put a hand over her mouth then glare at mum. "Stop, just stop. Why are you doing th-" I stop my eyes go wide "You read my journal didn't you?"

I facepalm at her antics. "Please act your age." I say rolling my eyes.

"Vary well, my dear." She pouts "Now, Scootaloo what I'm about to say I ask that you pinkie promise that you will tell nopony with out permission?"

Scoots looks at me and I just nod "Ok, cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye."

"Now Scootaloo as you know the royal family is made up of my sister, Cadance and me. But that's not true while in the public eye that is true. Now many years ago I did take a mate but I thought her lost and to my sorrow that was true. My family has one more member and no its not Blueblood he has is a prince by name but without the power. The royal family has 4 members my sister Princess Celestia, my niece Princess Cadance, myself and my daughter Princess Moon Rune. The only differents is she wishes it not to be public." Mum tells her.

Scoots looks at me with wide eyes in surprise after she was told about the family but I cant bring myself to look her in the eyes.

I pull my knees to my chest holding them close be for speaking "Scoots Oi was planin' ta tell ya after this weekend."

"So your a princess?" she asks.

I give her a weak nod.

"And your her mother?" she asked mum.

She nods.

"and you were going to tell me after this weekend? Why?" She asked

I used my magic to levitate my bag to me. I dig around till I find two potion bottles and place them on the table. "That question ya asked me a week ago about changin' ya in ta a thestral. The blue one can do that," I pointed to the blue bottle. "the red one can make you a lunar pegasus." I told her after pointing to the red bottle.

"That still doesn't answer my question?"

I gulp and look her in her eyes. "The question ya asked me last night about why did I bring ya ta this town and not campin'. I was scared that with others around I wouldn' have the nerve ta ask if ya might want ta be my marefrind but I think any chance of dat just went out da window?"

"Your a idiot. You know that?" she told me. I looked to her and found her scowling at me. "I could care less that your a princess. I not happy it took you this long to tell me? Yes, yes I am," I flinched "but that is some thing we can talk about later."

I looked at her confused. She walks over and tackles me in to a hug.

"Over that month I started to fall for you but was waiting for you to ask me." She moves back some so she can look me in the face. "Moon your strong, brave, caring, funny and pretty. After a moment of shock she melts in to my embrace closing her eyes. I feel her tongue against my lip asking for entrance. Opening my mouth her tongue enters as we explore each others mouth. But all thing come to a end and for us it was to the sound 'aww' coming from my mum.

We both look at her with heavy blushes. "You two are so cute." Mum says smiling ear to ear.

Scoots looks back to me. "I didn't know you had your tongue pierced?"

"She has what now?!" Mum yells.

"Mum I've had it for months." I say sticking out my tongue to its full 11" length.

"You know you should have told me? I wouldn't have bin mad I know you pierced your ear but did you have to?" She asked.

"Yea I know and sorry for not tellin' ya."

She waves her hand dismissively. "Its fine but you two should get changed we are going to see the night guard school in town today."

I let Scoots use the bathroom first. When she got back I took my turn but the second I closed the door I opened it and glared at mum.

"Change me back!" I growled in a deeper then normal voice.

Mum smirked at me. "But my dear son this is your punishment for that prank last month."

Taking a deep breath "How long?"

"24 hours and you will be back to normal." She chuckled.

"Fine!" I yelled slamming the door shut.

Finishing my shower I grab a pair boxers from my sleepwear bag. I walked out and put my cargo pants and hooded half jacket on happy that I have a size adjusting enchantment on my stuff. I put my leg armor on then the full arm with my fingerless armored gloves and the pauldron. I then get my battle skirt, belts and knives on and buckled. Last I put my shackle and arm wraps fixed in place.

"Um Moon aren't you going to put a shirt on?" Scoots asked me.

"Nah. But I am goin' to hide my wings." I tell her hiding my wings.

Mum claps her hand getting up "Now shall we get going? I think the guard that came with me are wondering what has happened to me by this point."

"Well with me bein' male for the day just call me Rune." I tell them.

Walking down the streets ponies that we pass bow to mum. Scoots looks around as we go and I take note of the shops that she looks interested in for later in the week. Me and Scoots make plans for the week and weekend to tell her sister on the walk to the school. We get to the school and see a large field that looks to be twice the size of the field in canterlot.

Entering the school we are greeted my a unicorn thestral mare. "Greetings your highness, we are happy that you could make it to the midterm duels." She says with a bow.

Mum gives her a smile. "I glad to be here. Shall we go over the teams and their records?"

"Of course Princess." She pauses and looks at me and Scoots "And how might your guest be they look like students?"

"Yes you are right the two of them are they are from CMS. I asked them to come with to see how this school dose with the future night guards of Canterlot." Mum tells her.

"I see no problem with it. Some of the teams only have two members so they could help them." She takes a closer look and us "I see that this colt is a earth thestral but this filly must be mixed blood."

Me and Scoots figured we would head to the library with it being so early to let the other team get together. Walking the halls we made a quick stoop at the cafeteria for a snack. When we get to the library we could hear loud voices of what seemed to be one sided. Walking around the corner we find a group 7 thestrals 3 earth, 2 unicorns and 2 flyers. We get to the group just in time for a unicorn to push a earth. I grab him as he falls.

"Hey, why are you pushing others around?!" Scoots yells.

I help him back up to his hooves as a filly that looks like him comes up to us. "Thank for catching my brother." I give her a nod and walk past them over to Scoots side.

"Its none of your business so stay out of it!" The unicorn mare says.

I see one of the earths start to move and point at him. "Stay. If ya can't see the lass is talkin'." He gives me a glare but I just smirk.

"Now as I was saying the buck gives you the right to push other around hm hm?" Scoots says.

The filly takes a step closer to Scoots. "Well for one you defending a fillyfooler and her coltcuddler of a brother. The second is your getting in my face about it you half blood."

Scoots and I scowl "That is the biggest load of gobshite I think I've ever head." Scoots said be for looking at me. "That how you and Moon would say it right?" I give her a nod.

The fillies face turned red with anger and she tried to take a swing at Scoots only for her to lean back. The colt from before took a few steps forward past the angry filly. Taking my hood off I let my left eye change and got into his face.

"Lad ya need ta back up!" I growl and bare my teeth glaring at him and he backs off. "Now, This is whats 'bout to happen. Ya bunch of cunts are goin' leave and we don't see ya till the duels. If Oi do ya get a one way trip to the medics. Am Oi clear?" I ask glaring at the group.

The group of 5 leaves in a huff but still leaves. I send Nyx a message with our link and have her follow them in the shadows to keep tabs on them.

"Thank you for that. You helped us but you just made enemies with the top team at the school." The earth filly tells us.

"No worries." I tell her befor bumping Scoots with my hip "Ya did good love."

"Thanks. You know one of these days your going to have to teach me that language that you speek?" Scoots says taking a set at the table. I give her a nod.

"So Oi take it that group was doin' that ta get under your fur?" I ask

"Yea. It dosn't help that we are mached up with them for the duels." The colt sighs.

"I'm Midnight Shield by the way and this dork is my twin brother Dawn Shield." Midnight says. Her fur cream colored, mane/tail are black with a light blue streak going past her shoulders and orange eyes. Her cuite mark is a dark blue shield with light blue outline.

"Hi I'm Dawn like my sister said." His fur is the same cream color as his sister. His mane/tail are the same black and blue but his mane is cut longer in the front and short in the back. He has the same eyes. His cuite mark is a light blue shield with a dark blue outline.

"Nice to meet you both I'm Scootaloo and this is Rune." Scoots tells them.

"Sup"

"So can you tell use about that group and why they were bugging you about your sex life?" Scoots asks.

Midnight sighs "Its nothing new. As most ponies know thestrals have a low population so same sex couples are frowned upon."

"Her and her group did some digging around and found out that we both swing for the same team. Her and her group spread the word so we are kinda outcast of the town." Dawn finished

"Hold up! With the male ta females bein' Oi think its 10 ta 1 in fav of females. How can it be that big of a problem? Oi know for a fact that thestrals are not havin' problems Princess Luna showed me the numbers." I ask.

"I don't know what to tell you?" Midnight shrugged.

"Back to the main topis at hand. She was more or less trying to get under our fur as you said. I just wish that the group would stop." Dawn said laying his head on the table.

"Oi think Oi 'ave a plane but Oi need ta make a call?" I say grinning like mad. I take my phone out and hit face time before propping it up to show the table.

"Oh Luna, I know that smile." Scoots facepalms.

*ring* *ring* *ring*

Cadance pops up on the screen 'Hello~'

"Hi Cad ya 'ave time ta talk?"

She looks at me and blinks a couple of times 'Moony is that you?'

'Moony' I hear Scoots giggle so I elbow her "Luna" I say rolling my eyes.

'hahahahaha' She busts out laughing and disappears off screen. A moment later she shows back up with Gleaming who falls over with a thud of armor hitting the ground.

"GLEAMING OI WILL CUT YOUR TITS OFF WITH A RUSTY SPOON IF YA DON'T SHUT DA BUCK UP!!!" I yell making the ponies at the table and over the phone all jump.

'I'm sorry Moon I shouldn't have laughed.' Gleaming said I just growled at her but nodded.

'Yea same. So you called so whats up?' Cadance asked. We tell her what was going on and she checked the papers that I was talking about. 'Moony after what you told me and looking at what the population rate is can you do something for me?' She asks with a sweet smile that sends a chill down my spine.

"Aye Cad what can Oi do for ya?"

'I want you to break them. They want to be night guards end those dreams. Nopony and I mean nopony BUCKS WITH LOVE.' We all look at her with wide eyes. 'And don't worry about Luna I'll call her and let her know that I asked you to do this.'

"It'll be done. Talk to ya later."

'Later Moony~" She says before hanging up.
