Night of a New Moon

Moon POV

After hanging up the phone I look at the others at the table. Midnight and Dawn look shaken, Scoots looks confused. I let what they just heard sink in and think of a ways to maim them.

"So that just happened?" Midnight asked.

"And the Princess just asked you to kick the buck out of them?" Dawn asked.

"And why did she laugh at you and call you Moony?" Midnight looked at me with a raised brow.

"Oi may 'ave pranked Princess Luna." I say looking the other way.

Scoots grabs my school ID from my pocket. "Take a look at this." She says sliding it to them.

They take a look then look at me then back at the ID. "So... your not a dude?" Dawn asked frowning. But Midnight smiled.

I chuckle at the reactions "Sorry Dawn Oi'm not and Midnight ya have ta get through Scoots first. That sister she was talkin' 'bout was me." She just aww's.

"So whats the plan?" Dawn asked giving back my ID.

"Well could you tell us about the duels?" Scoots asked.

"Well Its a one round match for the 3rd years. It lasts all week but once two team finish they have the rest of the time off till next week." Dawn starts

"The only team that has two rounds are the ones that are fighting at the end of the week. Other than that its two teams enter one wins and one loses. The losing team has its rank dropped down but not by much." Midnight finishes.

"Well Oi ave a idea but ya may not like it?"

"Ok" They say

"We join your team and Oi as Cadance said break 'em."

"That cou-" Dawn was cut off my the library door slamming open reveling a angry princess of the night.

"Explain!" Mum yelled walking up to us.

I explained what had happened and what we told Cadance.

She sighed and sat down at the table. "The explains why she was so mad. So did you come up with a plan?"

"Oi 'ave one. Ya need ta take the gender swap spell off me but Oi 'ave one."

"Ok come with me and I'll take it off but it goes back on sunday when you get to the castle got it?"

I nod "Yea it was your counter prank Oi owe it ta ya."

Me and mum walk to one of the teachers offices. She teleports my bag to us so I can get what I need. When I change she hits me with the counter spell. I tell her I'll keep her posted by sending Erebus with her and she agrees. Getting back to the others I find them chatting.

"Whats up cunts I'm back!" I say grinning sitting down at table.

Scoots rolls her eyes use to my antics, Midnight gets a nose bleed and Dawn just looks at me wide eyed.

"Love, ya think ya could braid my mane the way it normally is?" I ask Scoots.

"Sure but why do you always have that braid?" She asks leaning on my back and starts putting a braid on the left side of my head.

"If I have to guess its a clan thing? Some of the old clans in the north have thing that show that your a member right?" I give Dawn a thumbs up.

"Wow. If I remember you told me you came from the frozen north?" Scoots adds.

"Damn girl that way out of the way. What clan are you from?" Midnight asked.

"The clan I was born in ta was the Night Wolves."

"And done, you have a tie in your belt?" I pull out some cord and hand it to Scoots "Thank you."

I take another cord out and tie the rest of my mane back before putting my hood up. We spent the rest of our time chatting about how school for them was and what it was like in Canterlot. After this was over I was thinking that I'll ask if the twins would be willing to move to Canterlot. After lunch all the teams went to the arena for the duels to start. Nyx let me know that the team I was fighting planned disabled the fields safety features. With our mach being the last today it would workout.

During the brake I had Nyx relay what she found out to mum. When the brake ended mum, Nyx and Erebus looked ready to kill the group. With the end of each fight I could see the other team getting ready. When the time came the headmistress of the school announced the mach.

"Now for the final match of today! To the Right we have the top ranked team of Frost Bite (female unicorn), Swift Flight (male flyer), Sword Strike (male earth), Night Wind (female flyer) and Spell Flare (female unicorn)!" The crowd cheered for them. "On the left we have The twins Midnight and Dawn Shield!" The twins got nothing but boos.

Mum stood up and held up her hand silencing the crowd. "Now with them are two cadets from CMS! I give to you 3rd years Scootaloo The Raven and Moon Rune The Wolf!" She stopped and look me in the eyes "May the hunt begin!"

"The three of ya stay out of the field. This my fight." I pick a song on my phone and set the volume to max before handing it to Scoots "Hit play when it starts." She gives me a nod. I pull my hood down and walk on to the field.

"And how do you think you are?!" Flare yells from the other side of the field. "Do you really think that you can take us?"

"I know I can ya night walking cunt!" I call out to her.

"Now when the countdown hits 0 begin!" Mum yells.

The other team gets in to formation unicorns in back flyer to the side and the earth in front with a shield.

"Gun dèan na diathan tròcair air ya oir cha seall mi dad. Nuair a thig am madadh-allaidh is dòcha gun ruith an creach. Oir chan eil ach an t-amadan a ’seasamh agus a’ sabaid." (May the gods have mercy on ya for I shall show ya none. When the wolf comes ta hunt may the prey run. For only the fool stands and fights.) I say closing my eyes and crouching down with my fingers touching the ground in front of me.

"What the hey kind of stance is that!? Or are you giving up?!" One of them calls

I feel my body start to change becoming more wolf like. My hooves change in to paws. My tail becoming solid and bushy. My fur getting thicker. My claws extending out more then normal. My muzzle narrowing. Finally my teeth getting sharper and some getting longer.

I open my eyes showing my purple slitted pupils glowing and black scleras before breath out some frost.

"WHAT THE BUCK?!" The other team yells and I growl and bare my teeth.

3rd POV

"Princess! What is happening!?" The headmistress asks in a panic.

"That comment you made to the two that came with me that is why Rune got mad. She is part wolf and can switch in to a wolf form if she feels the need." Princess Luna tells the headmistress.

When the buzzer hit 0 Scootaloo hit the play button one Moon's phone and music filled the field.

Moon launched at team. The unicorns stared firing spells at her but she would jump to the side and keep moving forward. The flyers took to the skies looking for a opening. The earth charged forward ready to meet her. When Sword and Moon met at half field he swings his mace aiming for her head. Moon catches the head of the mace in her left hand. Sword tries to pull his mace from her grip but finds himself out muscled.

Sword pulls his shield back to hit Moon but as it swings forward she kicks it sending him back and off his hooves. Moon applies pressure to the mace head breaking it then jump forward out of the way of Swift. Twisting in the air Moon brings her paw down on Sword's shield before he can get back up breaking it and shattering his arm. As Sword screams Moon twists around grabbing one Swords legs and breaks it in multiple places.

Moving out of the way of a shot of magic Moon pulls one of her knives driving it in to Swords shoulder and in to the floor pining him to the spot. Seeing Swift getting ready to attack Moon takes her other knife and throws it at him. As the knife passes Swift, Moon teleports to it and behind him. Moon grabs is left wing and crushes the bone close to the base. Swift yells in pain as he falls to the ground.

Getting up Swift stabs at Moon with his sword but she spins around the attack grabbing his arm and shatters his elbow. Continuing her spin Moon cuts the tendon of Swifts leg before slamming his face into the floor knocking him out. Moon looks over and sees Night trying to pull get knife out of Sword's shoulder. Moon charges Night causing her to fumble her weapon. Dodging a panicked attack Moon gets behind her and breaking both her wings.

Night shrieks having her wings broken. Moon grabs Nights wrist twisting the bone forcing it to shatter as she moves in front of Night and delivering a elbow to her jaw knocking her out. Dropping under a ice spell Moon runs in the direction of Frost. Frost sends spell after spell at Moon only to leave small cuts on her. Getting close to Frost, Moon takes a swing at her horn but Frost leans out of the way drawing her knife.

Frost stabs Moon in the side but her hopes are short lived as Moon grabs her hand holding the knife. Putting pressure on Frosts hand Moon breaks its. Moon puts her knife away then grabs Frost by the horn. Screaming in fear Frost feels her horn staring to break. Moon stops putting pressure on Frosts horn and grabs her by the uninjured arm. Twisting her body Moon wraps herself around Frost to break her arm and one of her legs.

Moon pulls Frost's dagger out of her side and turns her attention to Flare. Before going after Flare, Moon walks over to Sword and gets her over knife out of his shoulder. Tuning back to Moon sees Flare channeling a spell. Getting closer Flare releases a fire ball at Moon who takes the hit.

"HA... Take that you bitch! I WIN!" Flare cheers.

"Hahaha... did ya really think this would end me? Dragon I know 'ave hotter fire then this." Moon says walking out of the fire without any burns or signs she was in a fire at all.

Flare starts to cast another spell but Moon takes one step forward and is in front of Flare in the blink of a eyes. Moon grabs Flare my the throat lifting her into the air. Moon kicks Flare in the leg breaking it on impact making her scream. Flare tries to pull out her weapon but Moon grabs her arm and crushing the bone. Moon drops Flare but grabs and holds her up by the horn.

"The Princess of Love told me ta break ya and your band of twats. So with this I can say it's done." Moon said putting pressure in Flares horn.

Flare realized what Moon meant and screamed in fear at the top of her lungs. Moon twisted her hand to the side breaking Flare's horn. As Moon walked to the other side of the field she crushed the broken horn in her hand so it could never be fixed.

"And with that we have a winner!" Princess Luna yelled

Luna POV

'Damn, my little girl has her mothers and my brutality.' I thought as we head to the arena. Nyx and Erebus on each side with the Headmistress Dark Flare behind us. Entering the arena I see Moon talking to her team still in her wolf form. Looking to the field I see the medical team tending to the 5 downed ex-cadets. 'Its a good thing that everypony left after that mach. Things might get out of hand.'

As we make are way over to the downed cadets I overheard Moon on the phone. On the way I see a group of ponies running to the field some in armor and guessing the parents of the cadets.

"Princess Its a good thing you came some of the injuries we could use your help with." One of the medics says walking up to me.

I give her a nod. "Whats the damage?"

She sighed looking at the charts. "Starting with Sword Strike, hes right radius and ulna and shattered. His left leg is broken at two places on the femur with one on both the tibia and fibula. Last is his shoulder blade its broken in three places." She turns to the next paper. "Swift Flight, his left wing base of its humerus has bin crushed. His right elbow joint was shattered. The tendons of his left lower leg have bin severed." She takes a deep breath. "Night Wind, both of her wings at the base of the humerus have bin crushed. Her right carpals we crushed as well. Frost Bite, her left carpals, metacarpals and phalanges are all crushed. Her right arm at the humerus is broken in two spots. her left leg at the patella was broken." She flipped to the last page cringed and flinched. "Spell Flare, her left femur is broken in three spots. Her right radius and ulna are shattered. Last her horn is broken 2 inches form the base."

"My word that is a lot of damage. Unfortunately I cant do much, the crushed bones cant be fixed and shattered bones could be healed but not fully and the broken horn we cant do anything for." I sigh looking at the cadets and their parents.

"*sigh* That's what I was afraid of Princess." The medic says as she walks back over to give them the bad news.

*The sun glows on snowy pastures~ Summer dawns as the winter passes~ Celebrations start as the cold air drains~ So take a step onto Celestial Planes~*

"Hello Cadance, How can I help you?" I ask answering my phone.

'So? Moon only said it was done, how much damage?' Cadance asked

"Give me a second and I'll text it to you." I send her a text of the damage.

'Nicely done. I think I would have done worse.' She tells me as I hear a whistle and talking on her end of the call.

"You have." I deadpan "Did you fo-" I heard a loud crash. Nyx and Erebus run off and jump in the backs of two guards ponies pining them down. Moon has another pined holding one of the guards arm in the air and her knee on her back and head pined. "Cadance! Get here now!"

*pop* Cadance teleports next to me and I point to the seen. We both rush over and stop it before it can go to far.

I grab everpony in my magic an separate the groups. "Everypony stand down at once!" I yell

"Explain NOW!" Cadance yelled.

"That D-dog bitch crippled my daughter!" The mare in guards armor yelled holding her arm.

"My son will never be able to fully use right arm or walk without a limp!" A earth thestral stallion in guards armor yelled.

"Same for my daughter with her left leg, arm and right wrist!" A unicorn thestral mare yells walking in front of the last guard.

"And our sons arm leg and wing?!" Another mare yells.

"AND WHAT OF MY BABY?!" Dark Flare yells from behind the group making us all turn to her. "THAT BITCH TOOK ALL HER HARD WORK AND SPAT ON IT FOR WHAT?! TWO FILLYFOOLERS AND COLTCUDDLER?! PONIES LIKE THEM ARE NOTHING BUT TRASH THAT SHOULD BE K-"

Cadance teleported in front of her and grabbed her by the throat lift her into the air. The group stated to move to help Dark but I teleported in front of them wings flared. I hear crackling sounds next to me and look over to find Moon still in wolf form wings flared and lightning arcing around her arms and claws. Looking back I see Scootaloo, Nyx and Erebus in front of Midnight and Dawn.

"YOU WILL NOT MOVE! AM I CLEAR?!" I yell letting my magic spike. I feel a spick from Moon as well. The group backs up staring at use with wide eyes.

"YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TELL OTHERS HOW THEY SHOULD LIVE THEIR LIVES OR HOW THEY SHOULD LOVE!!" Cadance yelled at Dark. "IF YOU HAD NOT REMOVED THE SAFETY FEATURES FROM THE FIELD YOUR DAUGHTER AND HER FRIENDS MIGHT HAVE WALKED AWAY!! YOU ARE THE REASON FOR ALL OF THIS TO HER NOT ANYPONY OTHER THEN YOU!! IT WAS YOUR TEACHINGS AND YOUR WORD THAT SHE FOLLOWED!!"

"I WAS THE ONE THAT GAVE THE ORDER TO BREAK THEM AND IT LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE THE LAST ONE!!" Cadance growled.

"Princess ya need ta get all the ponies out of the arena and ta a safe spot." I look at Moon and see her looking at her cousin with worried expression. "The moment that she drops that mare. Please get them all out?"

I know that I can't move all the ponies in the arena to I plan to do the next best thing. I watched Moon walk over and grab Cadance's arm forcing her to let go of Dark's throat. I quickly teleported the unconscious mare to the others and put up a shield and soundproof spells. I turned back just in time to watch Cadance send Moon flying into a wall.

"Note ta self alicorn rage and Cad pack a punch." Moon said as I watched her get out of the rubble and back over to Cadance.

I watch as Cadance starts to make her way over to the downed Dark. Moon walks in to her path and wraps her arms around Cadance's right arm and her neck.

"Come on Cad this ain't ya. Ya nee-" *BASH* I watched Moon gasp as she took a punch to the side. "*cough* Come *cough* back ta *BASH* us." Moon tightened her hold. "Cad *BASH* p-please go *BASH* back t-ta the lovable twat that *BASH* t-the family knows an loves."

I cringe each time Cadance hits Moon but force myself to not leave the shield. Cadance after some time seemed to start and regain her senses slowing down.

"M-moony?" Cadance asked shacking.

"*sigh* Hi Cad. Oi'm happy your back. Oi think Oi'm goin' ta take... a... nap?" Moon said slowly closing her eyes.

When Moon collapsed in Cadance's arms I dropped my shields and run over to them. Getting to them and checking them over with a spell. I send the cadets to the hospital with their parents, Dawn, Midnight and Scootaloo to the tower with us.
