Night of a New Moon

Moon POV

*groan* "What hit me?" I ask groggily sitting up only to wince in pain.

"Easy, take it easy my dear." Mum says helping me sit up. "You took a good beating. You fractured your right arm and broke 5 ribs. Your arm and ribs should be good as new by tonight but the bruise on your side will last a few days."

I blink a couple of times "Right Cad kicked the hay out of me and I passed out."

"She did but at the same time you didn't try and fight her. The others are in the lower tower they didn't want to leave so I let them stay."

Getting out of bed I grabbed my pants "I think I should explain some things to them?"

Mum nods "you should. I told them a little but not much."

We head down to the lower part of the tower and find the others waiting.

"Scoots report, how long was I out and what has bin said?" I say walking in to the room holding my side.

"You were out for a day and a half. Midnight and Dawn know that we are part of the night guard. Princess Luna asked them about finishing school back in canterlot." Scoots says befor hugging me being careful of my side. "I'm happy to see you moving Cap."

I hug her back "Glad ta be back love." I take a seat and look at the twins. "So I have a question for the two of ya? Other then bein' cadets at CMS would ya be interested in joinin' the Shadow Unit? If ya do then ya will get missions but it will not impact your school work and ya get extra training."

The twins look at each other and start talking it over. "So we finish school but are part of the guard and cant tell others till after school?" Dawn asks.

"And we get missions and training plus the training at school?" Midnight asks.

"Yea that's about it."

"Were do we sigh up!" The twins say together.

I smile and give mum a nod. "Well the two of you will come back with me friday morning and I take you to the units barracks. Other then that you just need to go pack for us to leave."

The twins go and get packed leaving us in the tower.

"So we leave in the morning love? I say me and you hit the town tonight?" I ask getting my jacket.

"Yes!" Scoots cheers "You said we would have a look around so lets do it!"

We hit the towns shopping district. Stopping at a couple of stores Scoots picks up some clothes. We find one store that had some pricing kits and earrings. Got some dinner at a mom and pops place that was out of the way before heading back to the tower for the night. Mum, Scoots and I talked about if she wanted to take the potion or not. She picked to take the lunar pegasus one but she is going to let her sister know before taking it.

The Next Day

Waking up I got moving packing all the stuff that we have and got the stuff that we picked up in town to mum's chariot. Meeting with the twins I let them know that I would see them sunday and to get settled. Saying good bye to mum and the twins me and Scoots started making are way to Ponyville. We keep to the ground as went through the forest. None of the predators bothered us as we came across them other then looking at us then moving on.

Getting closer to edge of the forest we heard the sounds of fighting, growling and barking. Finding the noise we found the group that we left fending off a pack of timber wolves. Looking to Scoots she just shrugs and points to the others. I walk up behind the pack leader and grab it by the back of the neck and look it in the eyes.

"Take your pack and leave or die!" I growl loudly in its face.

I drop the timber wolf it and its pack run away with their tails between their legs in to the forest.

"Get your group together and get ta town. Not goin' ta save ya anymore." I tell the group as Scoots and I head back into the forest.

As we make our way closer to town we spot other teams. We pick a good hidden spot in a tree to see how some of the others did. Most of them look fine but some look shaken up form a week in the Everfree. I smirk seeing the team that we left carrying the team leader. Our spying is cut short when on of the night guard sees us and waves us down.

We jump down and walk up to him "Hey aren't you the two that went MIA?"

"Sir. ya cant be MIA if ya are followin' orders."

"Right? Come with me the Sgt's will love to hear this." He said leading us to Sgt Chaser and Sgt Night.

Sgt Night sees us and taps Sgt Chaser on the shoulder. "Chaser look at what we got here? Two deserters?" Sgt Night says glaring at us.

"You have two seconds to tell me why you left your team?!" Sgt Chaser yelled.

"We were following orders ma'am!" Scoots tells them.

"And what orders would that be? Nether Sgt Night or I gave you any orders?"

"Princess Luna's ma'am!" I tell them.

The two look at each other then at us. "The Princess?" Sgt Night asks and we nod.

"Ma'am I have a letter for ya if ya wish ta confirm it?" I say digging into my bag and pulling out a letter with her seal on it.

Sgt Night takes the letter and reads it before sighing and handing it to Sgt Chaser. When done with it they talk with each other.

"Well seeing as you were under orders we cant do anything to the two of you. But done do it again working with a unit is what keeps ponies safe out in the field." Sgt Night tells us as the two of them walk away.

We start to head into town till the sound of wings gets our attention. Looking up we see Rainbow Dash and Spitfire flying towards us.

"So... your team said you ditched them on the first day and left them for dead?" Spitfire said rolling her eyes.

"Got orders from Luna ta meet her at the Town at the Night Tower so that's what we did." I smirk after getting a whiff of a smell in the air.

Rainbow shacks her head. "So squirt other than that did the two of you have fun?"

"Well not much Moon go-"

"Hay!" Somepony yelled. We tuned around and found the team that we left. "Whats the big Idea leaving us out in the middle of the woods?!" Aqua yelled limping up to us with help.

"Bugger off, class is over for the weekend so get lost." I tell her with a board look.

"You don't get it do you filly? Its the weekend so we don't have to follow the school rules!" Flash barked.

"Hay dash? I say we head home we can tell you what the Princess asked us to do?" Scoots said turning back to her sister.

Dash nodded "Yep lets get going."

"I'm not done talking to the both of you!" Aqua yelled grabbing Scoots by the shoulder.

Scoots grabbed Aquas hand and elbowed her in the muzzle. Flash made a move to take a swing at Scoots but I grabbed her by the throat and slammed her in to the ground. Free Fall was about to move but stopped feeling a sharpened wing by her neck. The others didn't make any moves.

"So ya three done?" I asked folding my wing.

"Buck I think she broke my nose!" Aqua yelled holding her bleeding muzzle.

"Trust me lass we could 'ave done a lot more ta ya." I tell them with a glare.

"Enough!" Spitfire yells getting in between us. "You lot go get patched up and get ready for your ride home. You two go to the house now!"

We grab our bags and fly to Scoots and Dash's house leaving Spitfire and Dash with the Sgt's and the group. Touching down on a cloud I look at a nice size cloud mansion. Scoots unlocks the door and takes me in to the living room to wait for the others.

"So how much trouble ya think we got inta?" I ask Scoots.

"Not to much." Spitfire says entering the room with dash not to far behind. "The others started it and you defended yourself. I told the Sgt's that we would talk to you but I don't see a point in it so end of story." she shrugs before taking a seat.

"Now that your home you two go put your stuff in Scoots room and I'll start dinner and you will tell me how your week went." Dash says going into the kitchen.

Scoots takes me to her room and we drop off our bags before we leave I pick up a dildo sitting on her nightstand and tease her about it. I get a good laugh as she chased me into the living room with a blush befor tackling me and hitting me in the side.

"Alright you two dinners done!" Dash called from the kitchen.

At dinner we all talk about the week. Dash and Spitfire get a laugh that I got my flank kicked by the princess of love till we tell them that she was in a alicorn rage. Scoots tells them about the school and how they had a thing about the same sex couples. They didn't take it to well till told that the 5 cadets got what was coming to them. Let them know that the twins are switching schools.

Smirking I couldn't hold my curiosity "So Spits how was Dash? Did ya taste the rainbow?" My smirk got bigger as she laughed and Dash turned bright red.

"Yea I did and it was a fun night." Spits chuckled.

"SPITS/MOON" Dash and Scoots yelled.

"What?" Me and Spits asked at the same time.

Dash face planted into the table and Scoots facepalmed. We Just laughed at them.

"So how long 'ave ya bin together?"

"4 and a half years know. But please don't tell others if the public gets wind we would get no peace." Spits tells me.

I give her a nod. "No probs Spits not my style."

"Sis before those two start talking about your relationship any more. I want to ask you about something?" Scoots piped up before me and spits could get going.

"Whats up?" Dash asked with a questioning look.

"Last month I asked Luna and Moon if they know any spells to change me into a thestral. The princess found two one for what I asked and one for a lunar pegasus. She told me that I needed my guardians permission to take either." Scoots nervously fiddled with her hands looking at Dash.

Dash sighed but smiled. "Sis its up to you but I support you no matter what you pick. You will always be my sister no matter what." Scoots jumped over the table and tackle hugged her.

I laughed "Ya goin' to tell her anythin' else?"

Scoots face flushed and Dash looked at her with a raised brow "Scoots?"

"I... um.. I... and" Scoots sputtered trying to find a answer.

I facepalmed and groaned. "I asked her ta be my marefriend Dash."

Dash laughed and rolled around on the floor. "R-really Scoots you had trouble telling me that. Buck did you forget that I'm a fillyfooler? If I told you no I would be a hypocrite."

I looked at Scoots wiggling my brow and stuck out my tongue to its full length. Scoots went red, Spits and Dash looked at me in surprise.

Spits pointed at me. "That's not fair!" She yelled making me laugh.

I grab Scoots and pull her into my lap and give her a quick peck on the lips.

Dash snapped out of her daze. "Is that a lunar pegasus thing?"

I shack my head. "No Dash its not. All thestrals have long tongues from 6"-10"."

"Lucky bitch." I heard Spits whisper.

After dinner we made plans for saterday. We chatted for most of the night before calling it a night. Me and Scoots spent the night cuddling as we drift off to sleep.

• Saturday -

In the morning we all got up. Me and Scoots did our workout regiment by the time we got back we got breakfast. Scoots and Dash went in to town. Me and Spits sparred going back and forth using 'Iron Wing' style. Sparring with Spits was fun and we gave each other a good workout. After lunch I taught Scoots some wolf, prench, germane, and istallian (I could not think of something better than that for italian). The rest of the day just went by in a flash till night.

• Sunday -

Getting up I put on a hooded sleeveless shirt and some baggy camo pants. After getting dressed I made some coffee and waited for the others. Once breakfast was over Dash and Spits flew with us to the train station to say good bye. Riding back to canterlot was boring but gave us time to work on language lessons. Pulling into the station I was met with the horror of mum waiting for us. The moment she saw me I got hit with that gender swap spell.

Walking to the castle mum let me know that the twins had bin shown to the apartment. Passing mares keep giving me looks that made me hold on to scoots to keep her from going after them. When we got to the castle I asked Scoots to get Iron, Mist and the twins to meet me at the guard training field outside. Mum took me to the throne room to see Aunt Tia. When we got closer I could hear Blueballs asking for more bits.

"I'm Sorry Blueblood but the answer is no. You don't need any more bits." Aunt Tia told him.

"But Auntie?" He whined.

Mum cleared her throat. "I hope we aren't interrupting anything important sister?"

Aunt Tia smiles. "Not at all Luna and I see you have a guest with you."

"'ello Princess Celestia It's nice ta meet ya." I give a curt bow.

"Peasant you should be on your knees bowing down to all of the royal family." Blueballs said.

"...." I just walk past him and follow mum to base of the thrones steps.

"Hay did y-" I didn't let him finish but a roundhouse to his face sending him out of the throne room doors.

"I 'eard ya I just don't give a buck." I smirk as some guards drag him unconscious body to his room.

Aunt Tia sighs as she walks down to meet us. "Rune did you have to kick him?" She asked before giving me a hug.

I Just shrug. "Nah but It did shut 'em up."

I heard the sound of a camera and look over to see mum with her phone out. After taking to them for a little I headed to the training field. Getting out side I found Gleaming leading some of the guard through drills. I smirked and tackled her pinning her arms at her side straddling her.

I smirk down at her. "So mate. Still goin' laugh at me now that its not over da phone?"

She gulps as I cross my arms. "Hi Moon. I didn't know you got back today? You know it was all in good fun right?" I narrowed my eyes at her as she started to sweet. "Please don't cut my breasts off." She whimpered so only I could hear.

I laugh and shack my head. "Filly I had no plans on doin' that. Plus Cad would kill me." I get off her and offer her a hand up.

She sighs taking my hand getting back one her hooves. "Oh thank faust. You had me scared for my girls. So how are you feeling? Cadance told me what happened and has bin betting herself up over it." She gives me a pleading look. "Do you think you could talk to her latter?"

I pat her on the back and give her a smile. "I'll talk ta 'er tonight Gleam."

I see my unit get to the field so I wave to Gleaming and I walk over to them. When Iron and Mist get a good look at me they stop dead in the tracks wide eyed and slack jawed.

I roll my eyes at them. "Take it in cunts. I stuck like this till the mornin'. So get over it." The two of them snap out of it. "Right. Iron, Mist as ya know Midnight and Dawn are new members of da unit. I asked ya out ta da field so I can see what da two can do. Iron after we get done I need ya ta take measurements for uniforms and armor plus weapons."

"Got it Sir." Iron snickers.

We get to work Testing the twins out seeing how the two of them fight. Both seem to favor sword and shield. They move well in full armor but still have good flexibility. After working with them we head to the forge. Iron takes the twins measurements and I draw uniforms and armor for them. Getting back to the apartment I let them know that every sunday we will be training. I grab a shower before going to the castle dinning room for dinner with.

Entering my room Scoots is laying on my bed reading a book we got last week. Scoots told me I should mess with the guards and castle staff by waking to the dinning room with my fur still damp and without my shirt on.
