Night of a New Moon

Moon POV

Leaving the apartment with my shirt on my shoulder just like Scoots said I start heading to the dinning room. Passing maids I would see them blush and look the other way. Getting closer to the dinning room I spot guards waiting at the doors are both mares. When I get to the doors out of the corner of my eye I see them trying to stay composed. I push the door open and find most of the captains and princesses at the table along with Blueblood.

"Peasant have you no respect for the crown?" Blueblood said seeing me first making the rest turn to face me.

"Good evenin' princesses and captains." I give them a slight bow then take my spot at the table.

"And if you don't mind me asking? Who are you?" One of the captains asks.

Before I could answer mum looks at me "Moon why are you not wearing a shirt?"

"Oi got out of da shower and rushed ta get 'er." I tell her putting my shirt on.

The maid came in at took are orders we all eat and talk about the stuff abound the castle and things that will be happening. Blue complains about things not going his way. During dinner I see Cadance just looking at her food avoiding looking at me. With dinner getting close to ending the others start to leave the dinning room leaving Cadance, Gleaming, Mum, Aunt Tia and Blueblood.

"Cad we need ta talk." I tell her seeing her getting ready to leave.

"That's Princess Cadance to you." Blueblood says glaring at me.

I roll my eyes and look at him "If ya don't mind Oi was takin' to her not ya Blueballs. So if ya could leave da room?"

He was about to say something but Aunt Tia cut him off. "Blueblood if you could please leave?"

"But Auntie?" He whined.

"Blue leave." Mum tolled him.

He got up and left the room with a huff. When the door closed silence fell over the room.

"I'm sorry" Cadance whispered hanging her head.

I sighed and walked over to her placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Cad? Oi'm not mad at ya for da other day. Oi did what Oi did ta keep ya from goin' after that mare out of rage."

"But...but I hurt you? How can you forgive me that easy?" I watch as tears stream down her face.

"Can mother told me somethin' when Oi was younger." I place my hands on her face and lift her head to look at me. "Be angry at da ones that deserves it. Don't let little things around ya get ta ya. If somewolf ya know gets ta ya stop take a breath and just let it go." I stop and lean in the table and look her in the eyes. "What happened was not ya. Oi did what Oi did so ya would go back ta the lovable princess we all know. So don't keep beating yourself us over this."

Cadance go up and pulled me in to a bone breaking hug. "I know that you forgive me but I'm still sorry that I lost it like I did." I patted her back trying to not focus on my ribs slowly cracking.

"Sweetie are you feeling better?" Gleaming asked.

She let me go of me and I took a breath. "I am." She gave me a quick hug then hugged Gleaming. The two of them left after that.

I heard giggling from behind me. I slowly turnaround and find Mum and Aunt Tia trying hard not to laugh at me.

"Dear I love you but I know for a fact that you just lied to Cadance." Mum said.

Aunt Tia shacks her head. "Shes right Moon. You did a good thing but you didn't have to do it that way."

"Your mother and I have anger problems. She was the more leveled headed of the two of us but making us mad was not the best thing to do." She laughed for a moment. "But over time we tempered are anger learned that just because somepony makes you mad I is not a reason to fight."

"Hate and Love, Light and Dark, Negative and Positive, Harmony and Disharmony, Moon and Sun everything has a balance. It was one of her greatest teachin's." I said smiling.

"That's right." Mum said nodding. "She know that true balance is something that needs to understand both sides of the bit."

I looked out of the window seeing the sunset and moon rising. "When we went ta da Kitsune Empire my dark side had reached da point Oi was close ta losing my self. She put me inta my own mind ta face it. Oi learned that one can not live without both light and dark that is what makes me who Oi am. Oi accepted da fact that ta hole Oi need to live alongside both sides as one."

"Well I off to bed. Have a good night you two." Aunt Tia says

"Good night sister."

Night Aunt Tia."

"Shall we head over and get young Scootaloo so we can begin the transformation?" Mum asks.

"Yea, she was going ta stay up late so we could. Oi did tell 'er that she would miss school in da morning but still." I reply shrugging my shoulders.

We head to the apartment to get Scoots and the potion. On the way mum tells me that the room in the medical wing should be ready by the time we get to it. Entering we the stuff that will be needed and pick up Scoots. Walking to the medical wing of the castle I go over in my head what will need to be done. When we enter the nurse shows us to the room that we will be using.

Mum leaves to inform the doctor that we will be beginning shortly. While shes out I draw a rune circle on the floor that Scoots will be sitting in. When Mum gets back with doctor Cross she tells Scoots she needs to strip down to her underwear. When she is done I take out a Ink pot and start putting rune scrips on her. Taking my jacket of I write the same ones one me.

I look over the scrips on both me and her then nod. "Ok everything is ready."

"Now young Scootaloo. All you have to do is enter the circle and drink the potion. You will not be able to leave it till it is over." Mum looks at the runes on me and her. "The runes on you and Moon will dull the pain but it will still hurt a great deal."

Scoots nods and looks at me. "I'm ready for this."

Mum hand her the potion. "Then enter the circle. Once you do the runes will activate then you can drink the potion."

Scoots walks to the center on the circle as the runes on the ground, her and me start to glow white then drinks the potion. The second she drinks the potion I fall forwards on to my hand and knees breathing heavy. Scoots looks to me before falling herself and starts to scream in pain for her transformation. I grunt and get my self in to a sitting position.
Look to Scoots I can see her slowly changing.

What feels like hours she goes throw changes some small some big. Her eyes changed and became catlike, her fur got thicker, the tips of her ears grew tufts of fur, her nails became more claw like. The biggest changes are to her teeth, height and wings. Her wings got slightly bigger and the tips of each feather became the same color as her mane. She grew taller then she was. Last was her teeth as she was screaming I saw them become more predatory.

Thanks to the runes that I put on her and me a larger portion of the pain that she was going throw was sent to me. I could feel the changes happening form her bones breaking to her muscles changing. When it was all over me and her collapsed on to the floor breathing heavy and groaning in pain. The doctor checks her over to make shore she it ok and nothing went wrong.

When they are done running the test that they need on her we head back to the apartment. Slowly we make it back and Mum leaves us to rest for the night saying that she will be back in the morning to check on us.

"Moon what happened during my change? I saw you collapse?" Scoots asked in a raspy whisper.

I sigh and look to her and whisper. "Da runes that Oi put on ya and me took most of da pain from ya and sent it ta me."

"What? Why would you do that?" She opened her eyes and looked my way. "And why dose it look like the lights are on?"

I give a low chuckle. "Oi did it so ya wouldn't pass out. The lights are off welcome to true thestral night vision love."

She nod and curls up in to my side and we fall in to the dream land till morning rolls around.

Next Morning

I got up and got out of bed careful not to wake up Scoots. Hopping in to a shower and getting dressed I meet the others in the apartment dinning room and let them know not to be to lowed today with what Scoots just went throw. Getting some food for the two of us I head back to the room. When I enter I place the food on the coffee table. Hearing a groan I look over and see Scoots start to wake up.

"Good morning love. How are ya feelin'?" I whisper.

"Sore and could use a drink." She tells me slowly crawling out of be and making her way over to me and the food.

"Other then that have ya spotted changes?"

"Um... I think my sense of smell I knew the moment you got back I could smell the food." She takes a drink. "I know my eyesight is sharper."

"I have bin whisperin' since last night."

"Really?" I give her a nod. "Wow."

"Yes and we will be workin' on that and ya eyesight ta day so ya don't have trouble in school tomorrow." I tell her letting my voice get closer to normal level.

We eat and I take the plates to the kitchen to clean them while Scoots takes a shower. Mum shows up after I get done with the dishes. We head back to the room and find Scoots reading on the couch. Mum greets her in a normal tone making her jump and cover her ears. After apologizing her head to the medical wing for a check up. After a little walking her eyes start to adjust to the light during the day and at night.

When the doctors are done me and them go over the test results with me being the baseline for lunar pegasus. Everything checks out as 100% normal and we get the ok to leave. Parting was with mum her head to the training field and work out her new muscles. After working out we go back to the apartment and work on her hearing by going over our language lessons.

We decide to take a nap some time around noon. Mist woke us up and let us know that Iron was done with the twins gear. We meet the twins in the living room and then we all head to the forge. Getting to the forge we hear raised voices coming from Irons workshop. Walking around the building we enter her shop and find her and three thestrals.

"I told you that the weapons and armor are order for the Shadow Unit you can't come into my shop and demand I give you stuff! If you need gear then go to the proper protocol to get it!" Iron tells them.

A mare starts to get in her face an I can see Mist getting angry. "And I told you that the 1st unit has the right to ask and take what we need if the pony is not around to clam it! So hand them over!"

Iron pushes the mare back. "You aren't getting anything from my shop so get out!" She yelled.

I decide that this is a good time to end this. "Good afternoon Iron. Is the order I put in done?"

"Afternoon Captain. Yea its done but this group of halfwits are trying to take it." Iron tells me not taking her eyes of the other group.

I raise a brow and look at them. "Really now. Ya three explain NOW!" I growled you the last word.

"Who the buck are you?" Mare asked with a snar.

"Cunt your talking ta a captain watch what ya say." Mist growled and stared to advance on the mare.

I held up my and stop her. "Relax Lieutenant Glaive. Our unit is still new so I'm not surprised others don't know us."

The mare scoffs. "Yea right I'm not buying any of this for a second."

"Ya don't have ta but if ya don't leave now the lieutenant, sergeant, and me are going to drag your flank out of this frog and to your captain." I tell them.

"As if Captain Light would believe anything any of you would say or any of you could take us in a fight." She said with a smug look on her face.

The twins step to the sides of the door. "Have it your way." I smiled as two of them fell to the ground out cold. The mare looks at the two downed guards. She looks back at me as I smile and slowly walk over to her. She tries to take a step back but I grab the collar of her armor. "Now I will give ya two options. Ya can ether walk with use ta your Captain or I can knock ya out and drag ya ta her."

"I'll walk Ma'am!" She said giving me a salute.

"Good now go sit in the corner and when we are done we are going ta see her." I nod over to the corner that the other two are in.

Iron claps her hands getting our attention. "Well now that that's done. Midnight, Dawn if the two of you would come with me?"

The twins go with Iron to the back of her shop and the rest of us wait for them to come back. The Three of them come back in full gear. Both uniforms are black cargo pants and and hooded jacket that fades in to dark blue under gray half chest armor. Gray leg guards from the knee down and thigh guards. Full arm armor with shoulder guards and fingerless armored gloves. Iron hands them both a broadsword in a sheath and kukri which they strap the sword onto the side there belt and kukri to the back. the last thing she gives them is a shield.

"Nice you two look ready to kick some flank." Scoots says.

Mist and I nod. "Now that you two are set could you please get the three of them out of my forge?"

"Can do Iron." I turn to the mare in the corner. "You pick the two of them up and follow us."

"Yes Ma'am." She says doing as I tell her.

We walk out of the forge and over to the training field by the night guard barracks. When we get to the field I look for Light and find her watching over some sparing matches.

I walk up to her crossing right throw the sparing ring. "A word Captain Light?"

"Captain Rune, how can I help you?" She says with a raised brow.

"Me and my unit went ta get gear that I ordered ta find three of yours tryin' ta force the smith ta give it ta them." I tell her pointing to the three of her unit.

She looked at the three with a scowl "I see. You three get over here now!"

The three ran over and salute. "Ma'am!"

"What in the name of Luna were the three of you thinking!" Light yelled at them.

"We weren't ma'am." The mare says.

Light sners at them before truning to me. "Rune it was your unit that they wronged. What would you like to be done?"

"Truth be told two of them had there flanks kick already so I'll let ya pick what happens." I tell her leaving the training field.

We head back to the apartment and I tell the twins to get ready for tomorrow being the first day of CMS for them. Before they pack anything I enchant there gear the same as I did for Mist, Scoots and mine. We all eat dinner and head are own ways for the remainder of the night. Me and Scoots go over some last minute homework for class wednesday.

"Hay Moon how do you think the girls will react to my changes?" Scoots asks me flopping down on the couch and leans into me.

"Scoots the girls wont give a flyin' buck." I shift position making her head fall into my lap.

She look up at me smirking. "Your a bitch ta times you know that?"

I hummed for a second before leaning down and nipping the top of her ear getting a squeak and blush out of her. "I know I am."

She retaliates by leaning up and nips my cheek. "So you have ant Idea of what tomorrows class has planed? I saw some of the teachers at the castle today."

"I do." I tell her leaning back on the couch. "Some of the guards will be coming to class to look at recruiting for next year. What you the twins and I have is what some of the 4th years can get but its not easy and with the 4 of us its going to be slimmer."

"Um... Aren't you worried about them calling you captain?"

"No love the other captains have told the ones that will be at the class in the mornin' not ta and I know that two of them will be in class as well."

"All right. Now why don't we get some sleep?" She got up and jumped into bed.

I got up and got into bed. "Night love may the night bring sweet dreams."

"Good night Moon and may the flight of pegasi sing thee to thy rest." Scoots said snuggling into my side.
