Night of a New Moon

Moon POV

It took some time but the elements let me walk around town with out one or all of them with me. Walking about the town look to be the same as back home with the only change being the gender of some of the ponies. I made my way to the school house to see of the CMC in this world are still in Ponyville or back in Canterlon.

"Y'all don't ave to do this Scooter." A southern male voice said.

"He will if he's not a chicken." Said a snobbish voice.

"Your right Diamond Crown, if not all the fillies in class will think your just a scaredy colt." Another snobby voice said.

Rounding the corner I found a male Scootaloo, Sweetie Bell, Applebloom and two earth ponies both male. One was light rose in fur with blue eyes and light purple and white mane and tail. The other had light gray fur, purple fur and silver mane and tail.

The male Scoots was looking at the Everfree so I made my self know to the group. "Yo whats goin' on around 'ere?" I said walking up to them.

"Well hello my sweet." The rose colored colt says walking up to me. "My name Is Diamond Crown, my family is the richest in Ponyville."

"Hello miss, my name Is Silver Tray and its a pleasure to meet you." Silver said giving a small bow.

"Yea nice ta meet ya. What about them?" I ask pointing to the other three.

"Oh them. Nothing to worry about the flightless chicken was about to prove hes not scared to go into the forest and to the castle of the two brothers and back." Diamond said giving a smug victorious smile.

I watch the CMC going back and forth for a little till Scooter walks off to the forest the others sigh and walk to the school house.

"Well if the two of ya will excuse me Oi 'ave ta go." I say walking the direction Scooter went only to be stopped mt Silver and Diamond.

"Come now you should come hang out with the two of us my sweet." Diamond said putting a hand on my shoulder.

I brush him off and keep walking but call out to the two. "Yea not goin' ta happen! Oi dislike ponies like the two of ya!"

I followed Shooters trail as he went farther in to the forest. 'Well at least the lad id goin' the right way.' I think to myself as I start to hear talking just ahead of me. Pushing forward I found my target and just listen to him.

"Why am I so stupid!" He yelled smacking a bush with a stick. "How could I fall for that!"

I couldn't keep watching this it reminded me of Scoots when she thought she did something wrong. "Ya know, yell any louder and the creatures of the Everfree will come ta see what the sound is." I told him walking out from behind a tree.

"Y-your t-the f-filly from just a l-little bit ago." He stuttered

"Yea and?" I asked

"You should go back its not safe for a filly to be in the woods." He said turning around and walking away.

I sigh and follow him but keep out of sight. Going through the wood none of the monsters would come close to him and the few that did backed off at the sight of me. Fun fact about being a predator others will give you space if they think your more dangerous.

"Finally! Now I can get something and get out of this stupid forest!" He cheered failing to see the manticore sneaking in to the castle behind him.

*ROAR*

I wasted no time jumping in between the two. The manticore brought its claws down and I put my left arm up and stopped it.

"Now Now kitten ya should know not ta hunt ponies." I mocked giving it a fang filled smile.

We had a star off till its slowly backed down and left the room leaving me and a shocked and shacking colt.

"Ya good lad?" I asked shacking my left arm.

"I" He looked up and me then back down. "I'm sorry"

"For what? Ya didn't do anythin' lad." I say trying to reassure him.

"But your hurt?! How could this not me my fault!!" Ok now hes losing it. *Slap* "Ow"

*huff* I grab his shirt and pull him to his hooves. "For da love of da night! listen and listen good ya twit! Oi don't give a flyin' buck if ya think this is on ya! Oi did what Oi thought was right!"

"I.. Ok." He keeps looking at the ground as he grabs one of the fallen flags from the floor.

"Now that ya got your shite lets get out of 'ere." I called heading to that door.

As the two of us walked to the edge of the forest I could feel the claw marks on my arm healing but something was wrong. I looked at the marks and take a taste some of the blood. My eyes widen realized that its claws had poison on them. I mentally slapped my self forgetting that manticores claws had a mild poison.

I look over to Scooter and see him shacking trying to use the flag he got as a blanket. "Ya cold lad?"

"N-no." He denied.

I shook my head and took my jacket off before throwing it to him. "Put it on. The cut may be short but it will keep ya warm." I dug into my bag to find some cloth wraps for my arm.

"B-Bu"

"Put it on" I snapped.

"Yes ma,am."

We walked in silence for a good minute all the time I was wrapping my arm and was having trouble tying it off.

"Um.. I-I could help." Scooter said.

"If ya could." I stopped and held my are out for him. "Nice medical tie."

"Thank you." He smiles at his work. "My friends and I get injured every now and then. So I asked my brother if he could get me a book of first aid."

"Moon Rune" I said holding my hand out to him. "My name its Moon Rune."

He gave me a smile and took my hand "I'm Scooter."

The two of us keep walking back to the school house. The closer me got we could hear yelling from the inside of the building.

"How could you let my brother go in to the everfree!"

"And you! Why would you tell him to go in there!?"

"Dash you need to calm down. Yelling isn't going to help."

"Cheerilee, how can I be calm Scooter is off in the everfree. He could be lost or hurt!"

We looked at each other and ran into the school house.

"It's all right everypony I'm fine and back!" Scooter said before his brother hugged him.

"Oh thank Solaris your ok." Dash held Scooter not letting him go.

I smiled and started for the door till somepony stopped me.

"Hey! Were are you going!" Diamond yelled getting the attention of the rest of the ponies. "You went into the everfree too!"

I looked at him over my shoulder. "And your point is?"

"Why should the three of us be punished and not you!" Diamond then marched up to me grabbed my arm and tried to drag me back to the group. "You entered the forest to help him and fillies should know better!"

*Hiss* "Get your bloody hands off me!" I pulled my arm back and looked at it. "Put your hands on me again and Oi'll break your arm!"

"How. Dare. You." Diamond now mad took a step forward and took a swing at me.

I was going to follow through with my threat but somepony pulled me back making me and them fall and Diamond hit nothing but air.

"Moon, I know you don't like it but you can't go after him." Scooter whispered holding me and for some odd reason I listened. "Let me have a look at you arm the wrap is bleeding thanks to him."

I nodded my head and held my arm up for him to look at.

'Why did Oi stop like that?' I thought watching him unwrap my arm. 'Why is it da Oi feel as if Scoots if the one tellin' we what ta do?'

"The bleeding has stopped. Do you have a clean wrap?" I nodded to him and got him a clean wrap for him.

When he finished The rest of the adults and the other two colts came back into the room. "Thanks Scooter."

"Well my dear I know this is not the best way to meet but I'm Miss Cheerilee." She gave me a smile. "Unfortunately you did go into the everfree just like Scooter so I'll have to punish you with the others."

"But she only went in to help me find my way out!" Scooter argued trying to help me.

"Dear how old are you and what is your name so I can get in contact with your parents?" Miss Cheerilee asked.

"Rune that's what ya can call me and Oi'm 16." I looked her in the eyes and smiled "And ya can't do anything ta me Oi'm not one of your students and any more information is classified under the crown."

"Sweetie you can tell me who you parents are." She said.

"Classified" I got to my feet and walked up to her. "But Oi will say this." I pointed to Diamond and Silver "The two of dem tricked Scooter in to the everfree. He would have been eaten my a manticore if Oi hadn't gone after him." I then held the blooded cloth up for them all to see as my eyes hardened "And somepony will pay for this blood!" As I growled out the last part.

"I-I see" Cheerilee seemed nervous now "I-i will let all of you go for now. I expect to see you three in school tomorrow."

We all left the school house. Scooter suggested we go to sugarcube corner for some food and the others agreed.

"Surprise!"

"So were you surprised were you, were you." Berry asked popping up out of nowhere.

I game him a sad smile "Sorry Barry but Oi can see in the dark Oi saw all of ya."

"Oh" He blinked and the just nodded his head "I'll have to try harder next time."

The party went on for a good part of the night I got to meet Scooters friends. The elements got on my case about going in to the forest. I didn't see any signs of the Diamond or Silver so that was a plus. Wrapping the night up I found the local hotel and got a room for the week then went to bed for the night.

-Next Morning-

*bang* *bang*

"UGH!"

*bang* *bang* *bang*

I roll out of bed and yank the door open. "WHAT!" I yelled at the one banging on my door using the RCV.

"S-sorry M-moon *gulp* b-but I g-got a letter from the P-prince this morning and It was for y-you." Dusk Shine handed me the letter.

"Oi'll look *yawn* after Oi take a shower. Now go home Dusk." I closed the door on him and throw the letter onto the table and got a change of cloths and took a shower. Once done with my shower I put one a dark purple one piece and black pants on and opened the letter.

Dear Moon Rune

Now I know that you may not like it but with the time you are down in ponyville my brother and I would like you to attend the local school. I would all so like you to look in to some of the odd happenings in the everfree. You are free to do as you please but I hope to take this time to go to school and make some friends.

I looked at the letter one more time and then folded in before grabbing my spare jacket out of my pack. 'Got ta love pocket space'. My first stop of the day was going to be the nerd that had to wake me up for a stupid reason.

*knock* *knock*

"One moment" I could hear Dusk from the other side of the door. It opened an Dusk looked at me. "Hi Moon, so what did the Prince say in his letter?"

I smiled and held the letter up then set it ablaze of purple fire turning it to ash. "Never wake me up in da mornin'. Oi worked as a Night Guard for a reason." I then walk away leaving the scared stallion at his door.

I sighed and thought back to the letter and headed to the school house with the original copy after blacking out the looking into the forest part. As I got closer to the school house I could see all the the colts and the few fillies that were in the school. Miss Cheerilee spotted me as I was walking up and waved me over to her.

"Hello Moon Rune, I got word this morning that you might be part if my class and I'm happy that you are taking part. The incident from yesterday was asked to be dropped for you by the Prince. So you have nothing to worry about." She then should me to the class room and gave me one of the desks in the back.

I used the time before we actually started class to speed through the class books to see what Is different in this world. What I found gave me a headache reading that the only thing was the gender of the ponies and names had changed. When class started we covered math, history and geography before she let class out for lunch/free time. I sat at my desk dumbfound how far ahead I was in comparison to them.

"Moon Rune could I talk to you for a moment?" Miss Cheerilee asked as I was leaving class.

I sigh and walk over to her desk. "Yea teach what ya need?"

"Well I was hoping you could tell me how you are. I noticed that you weren't paying attention during class." She asked giving me a disappointed look.

"Oi'll de blunt. Your class is far behind with the schooling Oi have taken so far." The look on her face was that of confusion.

"I don't understand? How could you be farther then the class you are all in the same age group?"

"Don't know. Oi might keep coming to class till Oi go back to the capital. Oi have not made up my mind yet." I told her as I left the room.

I look around and see everypony talking and hanging out with others. I start to feel a pain in my chest and decided to get some space. I fly to a clearing not to far from the school to be alone. I land on a tree branch and just look out over the field. My mind wonders to thoughts of Scoots and Mids. I remember the time that Mids tried to surprise us by making us dinner and the mess we had to clean up. I remember the time that I got Scoots to sing even though she thinks she can't.

"Scoots, Mids Oi know that ya miss me and Oi miss the two of ya. So so much." I start to humming the song that she could practice when she thought no pony was around. Unknowing to me tears started to fall and I had gotten the attention of five colts.

Scooter POV

I was with my friends waiting for Moon Rune to leave the class so I could talk to her and give her jacket back. I saw her leaving the building and look around. She had a weird expression on her face before flying off to the field by the school.

"Guys I just saw her fly to the field let's go." I say heading over.

"Why are we following her again?" Sweepy Bell asked.

"An't we asking her about herself?" Apple Buck asked.

"Ya that's the plan, plus I need to give her jacket back."

We were getting closer to the field. Two ponies we didn't need around started following us.

"Hey, were do you think you losers are going?" Diamond asked.

"None of your business." I snapped at him.

Before he could reply we found Moon siting in a tree looking out over the field.

"Scoots, Mids Oi know that ya miss me and Oi miss the two of ya so so much." She said in a somber tone.

'Who is Scoots and Mids' I thought. Before any of us could talk to her she started to hum. I could see the side of her face being the closest to her and saw tears falling down her cheeks.

We all listened to her sing she had a beautiful voice. When the song ended I watched we feel her face. I started to walk to the tree but was pushed aside my Diamond and Silver.

"My sweet you have a lovely voice." Diamond said getting closer.

"Buck off ya twat!" She said glaring at him.

"Now that's no was to talk for a lovely filly like your shelf is it?" He countered

I could see the fur on the back of her neck start to rise and her wings twitch.

"Hay leave er alone!" AB yelled.

"She told you to leave so do so." Sweepy added.

"Didn't she tell you yesterday that she disliked ponies like you two?" I said as we got in between her and them.

"This has nothing to so with you three. Leave use alone and get lost." Silver said.

"Why would she want to hand around with losers like you all?" Diamond said walking around us.

Moon hopped down from the tree and started to walk around Diamond as he got closer to him.

"My sweet, why don't you come hang out with us we can show you around town?" Diamond said blocking her with a arm.

"Hay!" I yelled and grabbed his arm "leave her alone!"

Diamond pulled his arm from my grasp and faced me. "How dare you! If you don't leave I will force you to, you lame excuse for a pegasus!"

"No! No I will not!" I yelled

His face turned red. "Fine I'll make you then!" He grabbed my shirt and brought his other arm back. I closed my eyes waiting to feel the hit.

"Na Oi think ya should let the lad go before ya get hurt." Moon said.

I opened my eyes and saw her holding him by the arm. "Let go of me like a good filly and I'll deal with this trash so we can be alo *grunt*" He stopped talking and his face changed to one of pain.

"Oi think ya need ta learn not ta mess with me." She flexed her hand causing him to grunt again.

"Release me at one!" Diamond shouted.

I could see her adding more pressure to his arm. "Get lost ya cunts!" She growled.

*SNAP*

"AHHHH!!" Diamond let go of me and fell to his knees holding his arm. "You mule! You broke my arm!"

Moon grabbing him by the neck and tossed him to Silver. "Take 'im and leave while Oi'm feelin' nice."

Silver took of with Diamond and headed to the school.

"Sorry about that." Moon said giving me a small smile.

"Dat was a little much don't ya think?." AB asked.

"Not really." She said shrugging her shoulders. "So what can Oi do for ya lads?"

"Oh right I wa....'

*POP*

Dusk Shin teleported in to the field cutting me of. "Ha thank Solaris I found you Moon you need to come with me the Prince sent a letter to meet him in the library and to bring you."

"Fine" She looked back to me and smiled. "Sorry Oi talk with ya later lad."

The two of them then disappeared in a flash of light.

Moon POV

'What is goin' on with me' I thought to myself as Dusk teleported us to the library. Looking around I found all the guys and a Barb sitting and talking about who know.

"So ya said that ya got a letter? What was it about?" I asked looking up to Dusk.

He blinked a few times. "Oh right. Barb I need the letter form the Prince!" He called out.

"Right here Dusk." She said handing it to him.

"My faithful student Dusk Shine.

My brother and I have felt a large magic flare in the everfree and would like you and the bearers of the Elements of Harmony to look into it. We don't know what has caused the flare but you all should be careful. I would also like you to take Moon Rune with you as her skulls may help you in your search. I am also attaching a letter for you to read to Moon Rune as well.

Prince Solaris. "

He took a breath and started to read the second letter.

"Dear Moon Rune.

I have asked you friends to bring to you the rest of your gear. The two of then were very surprised that I found them. I would like to talk to you later about them and how they keep unnoticed by all the guards. I wish you luck and hope for the best.

The region if the night.
Prince Artemis."

"That is why I cam and got you but we will have to wait for you friends at the transition before we can go. We will meet them there and leave from there." Dusk said running back and forth packing a small shoulder bag.

"Wait! Why are we bringin' a filly wit' us?" Applejack asked.

"Yea it's to dangerous for her to go." Berry said

"Come on guys we can keep her safe." Rainbow Dash said.

*Scratch* *Scratch* *Thud*

"Um, I thing somepony is at the door?" Bard said walking over and opening it. Once open she fell back and she scooted away from it.

In walked Nyx and Erebus. Erebus had a bag on her back and Nyx had my knives in her mouth. The two of them walked over to me and put the stuff down.

"Thank ya girls." I took my stuff from the bag and got my armor on and got ready to leave. I looked back at the guys and they were all staring at me. "Are we goin' or what?"

The group all went from one ponies home to another to get stuff that they would need. The only one other then me to bring weapon was Applejack. We mad are way into the forest and started to follow the map that Dusk was given. Getting deeper the atmosphere started to get darker. We ran into some timberwolves but they turned away from and wen around us.

Walking for hours Dusk had is stop for a rest. I keep scanning the area because it was way to quiet for my licking. No pony said anything as we took a rest.

*BOOM*

"What was that?" Dusk asked.

"Don' know, but we are about ta find out." Applejack said unhooking his axe from his back.

We mad are way in the direction of the explosion. Spotting a glowing staring to break through the trees we slowed to the tree line. Getting to the edge we peered around the trees and saw a group of ponies and what seemed to be a alter. I spotted body's of dead ponies and bones in the area. The group started to move body's of a unicorn, earth pony and a pegasus on to the alter.

"Tonight my brothers and sisters have will bring our mistress back from the abyss to rule over all of Equestria. Tonight we will end the false rule of the brothers and rise from the ashes of the day. Eternal night will last forever and the Mistress Nightmare will rule over all!" A pony in a black clock yelled as the others cheered.

"Wh-what is this?" Dusk whispered.

"Buck me! This is necromancy and dat group is tryin' ta bring Nightmare Moon back ta life!" I growled and pulled a knife. "We 'ava ta stop 'em!"

Applejack put a hand on my shoulder and yanked me back. "Hol' up there filly let da stallions handle this 'ere problem." Him and the rest of the guys nodded to each other and marched out in to the opening.

I flu in to a tree and stand on a branch and watch fuming.

"Halt in the name of The Prince!" Dusk yelled getting the attention of the group.

"Oh if it's not the puppets of the tyrants themselves!" The leader yelled. "You shall never stop us from our task!"

"ATTACK" One of the ponies yelled. Some of the unicorns summoned zombies and some prepped spells. The earth ponies started to charge removing there cloaks reveling black armor with a crescent moon symbol on it. The pegasus took to the air tossing there cloaks as well. The two groups started fighting. Rainbow took on the flyers as Dusk and Elusive cast spells. Berry pulled a cannon out of his mane. Applejack clashed with the ground troops and zombies. Butters was calling some of his animal friends to help him.

The leader was focusing on his task till one of Dusk's spells hit him. He got back up and joined the fra. The Elements started to push but now with the leader fighting the tides slowly started to sway.

"Come forth my hound!" The leader bellowed and shot a bolt of magic at the ground. A circle appeared on the ground and a large black and red bipedal wolf rouse out of it.

All the fighting came to a stop at the sight of the 8" tall muscle bound behemoth. The cult ponies moved fast to get out of it's way. The zombies in it's way were ripped apart. Having had enough of sitting and doing nothing. I hid my wings and took a running leap off my perch. I landed in the path of the wolf and stood up throwing my head back letting out a loud howl and shifted in to my wolf form.

The other wolf came to a stop its ears perked and it started to look around. In the shadows large shapes started to move about.

"What is this!" The leader yelled. "Who are you and what is your purpose here!"

I stared straight at the other wolf and spoke in a dark manner. "Ya think your da only pony that can use shadows? Don't make laugh for ya are only a guest. But for those da are born of dem we are much more!"

"Stop standing around hound! KILL THEM!!" The leader yelled and ran back to the alter.

"Let me show ya true use of shadows." I looked to the moon over head and smiled. *HOWL*

Out from the shadows of the tree line a pack of wolves with wisps of black smoke emerge. The wolves are lead by Erebus and Nyx. The cult ponies back up seeing a army show up the leader looks angry for the interruption and the wolf just growls at the pack.

"Now come fight and show me what ya got lad!" I say excitement.

The other wolf lunges for me. I lean back letting his hand pass over head. I recover and throw a punch into his lower abs. Keeping my momentum I get behind him and go for his spine. He swings back making me roll out of the was and back up. Dodging I look for a opening to go for. I spot one but one of the cult ponies grabs me.

"NOW!" The cult pony yells.

The wolf does just that and brings his claw down on the two of us. The cult pony gets cut clean threw killing him. As for me he gives me four claw marks from my left shoulder and down my chest. I fell back letting out a yell of pain.

3rd POV

The fighting all stops as a scream of pain draws the attention of all in the clearing. The large wolf stands victorious over the fallen Moon Rune. As the seconds pass a howl breaks the silence and one of the wolfs from the pack attacks one of the cult ponies. The wolf pack takes out most of the cult ponies but some run form the fight and get away. The Elements of Harmony are lost on what to do. Dusk Shine starts to fire off spells at the cult leader but is blocked by other unicorns.

"Yes, Yes Its complete!" The cult leader yells as his spell finishes.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!" The Elements, other ponies and large wolf all look to the body of the filly. They watch in shock and surprise as she gets to her paws.

Dusk sees the large claw marks on her chest that should have killed anypony closing at a rapped pace. "How?" Dusk Whispered to himself.

I one swift motion she disappeared form the spot and reappeared in front of the other wolf. She grabbed him by the neck and forced him onto a knee. The wolf tried to swipe at her but his hand was stopped by her. Moon Rune then lunged forwards and bit into his neck. The wolf cried in pain and he felt Moons fangs digging in to is flesh. Moon Pulled back taking out the other wolfs throat. Kicking the wolf away Moon started walking over to the alter.

The alter lit with a bright light as the spell that the cult leader cast had finished working. When the light faded the three bodies that had once laded there were gone. In there place was a black female alicorn with starry mane and tale, wearing silver armor. She opened her eyes and her dragon like turquoise eyes scanned over the clearing. Her eyes stopped only a moment as she saw the Elements. She looked to the cult leader that was bowing to her.

"How am I alive! Tell ME!" Nightmare Moon ordered him.

"It was I that brought you back from the abyss, Mistress." The cult leader happily answered her.

"Good. That means I can be FREE!" Nightmare said smiling.

"Not goin' ta happen!" Moon Rune Growled now standing on the other side of the alter.

"And who are you to tell me what to do?!" She turned to Moon Rune and paused. "Who are you? You look so familiar and your eyes."

"Ya wouldn't know me but Oi'll tell ya who Oi am. Princess Moon Rune Noctis, Daughter of the Moon and Princess of Shadows." Nightmare Moons eyes get wide and she takes a step back from Moon Rune.

"No!" Nightmare says She takes a deep breath and walks forward and off the alter and up to Moon Rune. "Look at me young one." Nightmare said.

Moon POV

I glared up in to the eyes of Nightmare. My eyes met hers I stared my black and purple slit eyes meeting her turquoise slit eyes. I see her eyes slowly getting bigger as she backs up and starts pacing.

"No! No! This can't be right I know for a fact that he has no foals!" Nightmare rambles then looks at me. "But you look so much like him?" She reached out and lightly touched my check.

"What are ya gabbing about ya slag?" I can't help stare at her somethings off about all this.

She takes her hand back and starts to say something but I get blasted my magic from the cult leader. The elements and Nightmare call my name.

"What are you doing you fool!" Nightmare yelled grabbing the cult leader in her magic.

"But My Queen she is with the elements and sent by the princes to send you back into the abyss." The cult leader says.

I get back up on shake paws 'Buck me da blast was a strong one.' "Oi'm goin' ta kill 'im!" I growl feeling the burns in my side healing. Nightmare and the leader look at me in surprise

"How are you still alive?!" The cult leader asked. "That spell should have killed you!"

Nightmare's head whips around to the cult leader. "You tried to kill her?" The cult leader nodded. "You tried to kill her!? The daughter of the only stallion that I loved!" She growled dragging him closer to her.

"Bu-But I" *Snap* He never got to finish for a angry Nightmare snapped his neck.

I took notice that she was breathing heavy as I took a step closer to her. "Nightmare tell me and tell me the truth. What were ya ta Prince Artemis?"

"I-I" She stopped and I could see the sorrow in her eyes. "I. No we were friends but later we became more." She paused and took a shake breath. "I loved him and he me. But I'm a umbra and we don't have real bodies we are nothing more then shadows."

The pieces started to click together in my head. "So come mornin' ya disappear. Only to watch from the shadows."

"But then he found a spell that should have helped us but something happened and we became one. We lost who we were and tried to take over. Something with that spell a voice that would tell us that Solaris was the to be overthrown." She paused and looked to the full moon.

"*sigh* A curse." She looked at me with wide eyes. "Da spell ya use had a curse on it. Da two of ya were bein' controlled."

She shuck her head and gave me a sad smile. "It's to late now. I have been labeled a monster and that's all any pony will ever see."

I shifted back to normal and looked at her and found no lie in her eyes. I heard the sound of something in the air and saw Applejacks axe flying at Nightmare. I stepped in front of the axe which in hindsight not a smart move. I stood there with the axe in my shoulder.

"Stupid filly!" Applejack yelled

I look up and see them with the Elements of Harmony glowing around there necks. They don't hesitate and fire a rainbow colored magic beam at the two of us. Nightmare does the last thing I could think of and jumps in front of me and raps herself around me protectively. When the beam hits is everything goes white. Opening my eyes I look around and see Nightmare still holding me.

"Hello young ones." A voice says from behind us.

I look back and see a off white alicorn with red mane and tale in a gray dress smiling at the two of us.

Nightmare puts herself between me and the new alicorn. "Who are you and were are we?"

"Please calm yourself Nightmare Moon. We are in the realm of magic. As to who I am, well I'm Faust."

"Buck this. Send us back, Oi rather deal with the Elements of Harmony then da Alicorn of Creation!" I yelp forgetting about the axe in my shoulder.

"Language young filly. I might not be your actual grandmother but you are still my kin." Faust says

"By the night Moon your shoulder!" Nightmare panics "Don't move I'll heal you!"

I hold my hand up and stop her. "Thank ya Nightmare, but Oi got it." I grab the axe handle and yank it out with a grunt. The wound heals just as fast as normal.

I look up and find that Faust is now standing next to us. "You are your mother's daughter alright."

"Can ya tell us what da two of are doin' here?" I ask hoping for an answer.

"When the Elements hit the two of you I intervened. All those years ago that curse made my son and Nightmare in to something they aren't. I didn't have the power then to help them but now I do. Nightmare I know that your love for Arte is true and for that you should not have suffered the way you did. For that I am sorry." Faust said giving Nightmare a hug.

"Thank you Queen Faust." Nightmare said hugging her back.

The two broke from each other and Faust turned to me. "Moon I know your going to ask if I can help you and I wish I could but I don't know of a way to. What I can tell you is that the mirror will open in a few days."

"That's all Oi need ta know." I tell her giving her a sad smile. "Oi just want ta go home." I can feel the tears on my cheeks.

"Now our time is come to a close. I'm giving you a letter for my sons it will tell them what really happened in the past." Faust turned to Nightmare. "I have a gift for you my dear. That spell that gave you life was incomplete. I'm going to fill in the missing parts of it you will have a real body. You will be something new to the world and mix of alicorn and umbra." Faust's hand and horn lit as she cast her spell.

Nightmare gasped as the spell took hold. "Thank you."

"It's time for the two of you to go back. Good luck and Moon please don't kill them."

"Oi'll think about it."

In a flash of blinding white light Faust was gone and we were back in the clearing from before in the center of a dust cloud.

"Did we do it?" I heard Dusk's voice.

"I think so." Elusive said.

"I reckon we did." Applejack said.

"Well we are awesome like that." Added Rainbow.

"Yay, this calls for a party!" Berry cheers.

The dust cloud starts to disappear and I can feel my blood lust growing as the five of them keep going.

"Um guys I think you should turn around." Butterscotch timidly said.

The five turn around and see the two of us standing there unharmed.

"WHAT!!" The five say after seeing us.

I turn to Nightmare. "Can ya teleport us ta Canterlot?"

She nodded and lit her horn and we were gone in a flash. Looking around I found that Nightmare had taken us to the royal gardens. The two of us made our way to the throne room avoiding the guards. when he get there I knock out the few guards watching the doors. Once inside I locked the doors with a number of magic locks.

Turning around I saw both Solaris and Artemis standing at the base of the throne stairs. The looks on the twos faces was of shock, confusion, worry and sorrow. Shining Armor was the first pony to compose himself and started barking orders to the guards in the room. The guards surrounded us with weapons drawn and ready for a fight.

"Surrender and get on your knees!" Shining ordered.

Nightmare gentle pushed me behind her as her magic flared. The two princes were still out of it in confusion.

"Last chance monsters! Give up know and the two of you will not be harmed!" Shining yelled making a hand gesture. The guards started to close in on the two of us.

Nightmare guide me backing up from the group.

"Last and final warning!" Shining bark pulling his sword.

Time seemed to slow for me. All the stress and the odd feeling that I had been feeling since I got to this world had finally reacted it bolting point. I was fed up with being ordered around. Done being looked down on because my gender. It was time I let out me frustration and now to me would be the perfect time.

I put my hand on Nightmares arm and could feel her shacking. "Nightmare, Oi'm about ta do some thin' I was goin' ta show my mum. But at dis moment Oi think now is a good time. Please stand back." I calmly said walking in front of her.

"Halt don't move!" Shining yelled.

"It's time ta run wild Oi think." I said giving a wide smile. I started to feel my kitsune and wolf magics mixing.

3rd POV

All the guards in the throne room watched as Moon Rune closed her eyes and started taking deep breaths. Slowly black wisps started to flow off of her as set stands still. All the unicorns and the three alicorns in the room could feel the large amount of magic flowing around the filly. Her body twitched ever so slightly till she fell to her knees and grabbed her head.

The sounds of cracking started as her body shook. Her fur got longer muzzle narrowed, claws grew slightly longer. From her back her tail filled in as eight more grew. She got to her paws and opened her eyes. The ponies that know what they looked like now saw her purple eyes glowing. Nightmare being behind her could see the runes running down her back glowing.

Standing before the ponies was not Moon Runes normal wolf form but a mix of fox like fetters and a more wild look. Moon Rune then grew a large smile tilting her head to the side.

"So lads who want's ta play?" Moon Rune said releasing a tremendous amount of blood lust.

Shining Armor gulped and could see that his stallions were sweating. "Don't worry guards. We can stop her." Shining told them trying to reassure them and himself.

In a instant Moon Rune ran up to one of the guards and kicked him in to the wall before cutting shallow in to another with her claws. One of the guards ran at her with his spire but was grabbed by the ankle with one of her tales and flung in to a pillar. The process repeated itself a few more times of guards being clawed, thrown into walls or pillars till Shining was left standing.

Shining Armor fired a spell at her but she just let it hit her as if nothing happened. Panicked he tried to us his sword but was caught by her tale and tossed back and dropped it. Scrambling for his sword at the moment he went to pick it up Moon Rune put a paw on it. Shining Armor looked up at her with a mix of fear and surprise at her speed.

"Good night Shining Armor." Moon Rune said hitting him in the face with a open palm strike knocking him out.

Nightmare POV

I watched in awe as Moon decimated a group of guards and the captain of them. Looking at the guards I could tell that none were killed. She had held back to avoid doing serious damage to them.

"Moon?" I called out to her hoping that she would respond.

She turned her head and looked in my direction and gave me a small smile. "Don' worry Nightmare. Oi think now would be the perfect time ta talk ta the princes, no?" She finished tilling her her head to the brothers.

"Oh right." I blushed in embarrassment forgetting about needing to talk with them. "Ahem.. I know neither of you want to see me after what happened and I now nothing I say might change your minds. I what to start by saying I'm sorry for what has happened." I could feel the tears coming to my eyes and looked at the ground.

"Nightmare let's let them look at the letter we got." Moon said.

I nodded my head and waited silently as they read the letter. I felt a hand on my arm and look over to find Moon giving me a worried look. We stud there in silence waiting.

"Night?" Artemis said quietly.

I looked up at him as Solaris was reading or rereading the letter. Looking into his eyes and found the stallion that I fell in love with giving me a worried look. Slowly Artemis lifted his hand to my cheek. I couldn't help but lean into his hand.

*BANG* *BANG*

"Buck da guards are tryin' ta get in." Moon Rune sighed and started to make marks on the floor.

*Sigh* "How could I have been so stupid?" Solaris said putting the letter down.

"Moon Rune, could you take the locks off the door?" Artemis asked.

Moon nodded and walked up to the doors. She waved her hand and then jumped back landing before us. The doors we pushed open and the elements and guards ran in weapons ready.

"Get away from the Princes at once you monsters!" Yelled the element of magic.

"Everypony stand down!" Solaris ordered.

"Don't worry your Sir. we will save you from them!" Yelled the element of generosity.

"How abou' ya all shut up and let fa prince tal.."

"Be quiet filly, the stallions are talkin'!" The element of honesty barked.

Moon Rune clenched her fists and visibly stared to shake. The stone floor under her oasis started to crack from the amount of magic that she was holding.

"What filly, got nothin' left da say?" Honestly mocked getting closer to Moon. "Now move!" He said now in in front of her.

"Oi'm done." Moon coldly whispered.

"So be it monster." Honestly said spinning on his hooves kicking Moon in the side.

The impact was loud and bones were heard breaking but Moon didn't move from her spot. I watched as Moon grabbed the stallion by the face and slam him in to the floor.

"Oi'm done with this shite. All y'all seem ta think is dat everything is black and white. That magic can only be one thing, but your wrong. Can any of ya say ya know da truth of what 'appened a thousand years ago? No. Can any of y'all truly say that she is evil? This ends now!" Moon finished talking and walked over to Solaris and prompted him to finish.

"She's telling the truth all those years ago it was a curse that caused it to happen, not my brother or Nightmare. A curse and thanks to our mother we know the truth." Solaris finished the ponies in the room looked lost and confused as what o do.

"All of you go back to you dutys and see to it that the injured are helped. My brother and I will make a announcement later today or tomorrow." Artemis said.

Everypony left and helped the injured out of the room leaving the four of us. After the last one left Moon sat on the floor and shifted back to a pony but looked exhausted. Walking closer to her I could see tears running down her cheeks.

"Moon are you alright?" I asked.

"Buck no. How in the blood 'ell could Oi be alright! Everything Oi know and love are on da other side of a bucking mirror!" She yelled in frustration be for slumping down further.

"What mirror?" I ask.

"Right, sorry Nightmare. Moon is from another dimension and came to ours by a mirror that starswirl created." Solaris said.

"Oh Moon I am so sorry. I had know idea." I pull her in to a hug hoping to try and comfort her.

"Oi just want ta go home." she said in a low whisper.

???? POV

In the room of the castle unknown to anyone the mirror started to shine in the dark room. The glow was low and only lasted a small amount of time. A small black bird had come out of the mirror and landed in the center of the floor. Flapping its wing it took flight and went back in to the mirror as the light cut out.
