Chapters The princess and the death
September 29th, Manehatten City rooftop.
The mission has changed drastically for Umbrella agent Thorax as it usually did.
He had just spent eight days in the sewer's of Manehatten city, survived the abominable doctor Chaos had turned himself , which had killed the rest of his team, and had fought his way through the infested police department to the rooftop for extraction with the G-Virus sample in tow holstered in the back of his belt.
Now his friend Nighthawk was telling him that somepony high up in Umbrella had scrambled his current extraction plan and that he had to find an alternate form of escape?
Thorax activated his helmet's communication unit again and tucked his combat knife back into one of his pockets.
"Acknowledged Nighthawk how much time do I have unti Mission Code XX commences ?"Thorax asked calmly , his voice slightly muffled by the gas mask.
"Three days at the most Mr Death. I'll have more information soon, it's nothing you can't handle though I'm sure"Nighthawk responded .
"Of course I can you either adapt to the mission or you fail. And I've never failed in the past few mission's in Canterlot. I'll keep you informed of the situation here Nighthawk I will deliver the G-Virus to Umbrella at all cost"Thorax replied to him .
"I'll inform our queen not to worry"Nighthawk told him.
"Affirmative agent Thorax out"He replied turning off the comm channel.
Thorax walked across the roof and looked down over the roof top's railing at the ruined city streets below , the crowds of rotting zombie's shuffled aimlessly in the streets some feeding off of fallen bodies. Most of them were doing nothing , he could hear the echo of moans from all the way up the building.
"I still have a couple of weapons with me and I also have my magic. I better head back down the main hall though, recover any supplies left over for the journey ahead I'll need everything I can get in this infected city"said Thorax to himself as he turned away from the metal railing and paced back across the roof to the door leading inside.
He readied his horn and proceeded to open the door slowly. There was nothing but mangled magic blast's , ridden bodies of zombie's and B.O.W's littering the dark staircase.
"I probably cleared out most of the department on my way up here. I doubt it's empty though."Thorax said to himself quietly .
Thorax then walked down the the staircase more cautiously, he was nearing the balcony overlooking the department's main hall.
As he passed through the stations empty corridor and offices an eerie silence seemed to hang over the body filled hallway , Suddenly the sound of muffled magic blasts sounded off in the distance.
“Another survivor ? Sound's like it's coming from down in the main hall" Thorax thought to himself.
He picked up the pace and hurried down the hallway , as he passed a closed wooden doorway a hoof burst through the door frame and attempted to hatch onto Thoraxes hoof.
Thorax dodged out of the hoof's reach quickly and faced it , he kicked the wooden door opened revealing a mare police officer zombie , the zombie moaned hungrily with outstretched hooves and attempted to bite and grab Thoraxes mask.
In one swift movement Thorax ducked behind the zombie, slammed it head first into the wall opposite the door and he grabbed the zombie by its neck , he then jerked the zombie's neck to the side , in a lightning quick motion, snapping it cleanly , the former officer collapsed to the wooden floor it's head twisted horribly.
Thorax turned back and kept pacing down the hall as if he had not just been interrupted.
Finally, Thorax made it to the metal door leading to the balcony above the main hall. The noises grew even louder though still a bit muffled. The sound of moaning was followed by a door slamming and the patter of hoof across the floor.
Thorax knelt beside the door and quietly opened it. Instantly he dropped to the ground and crawled through the doorway, to the balcony and he looked through the spilt's between the railings.
He watched quietly as a purple mare in a red jacket dragged a heavy desk in front of the door to reinforce it , the zombies outside were wailing and hammering on them but the door's held fast.
Next the mare moved over to a chair and dropped into it crossing her hooves and wiping the sweat off her head.
Thorax watched curiously.
“Who is she ? Does she work here ? I've never seen this mare before in my life she doesn't look like a police officer to me considering her look and jacket or those amateur U.B.C.S soldiers the queen sent are inept at fighting these creature's pathetic ”Thorax thought to himself.
The mare stood up suddenly from her seat and moved quickly across the length of the hall past a large statue and towards the main desk closer to the far balcony , Thorax rose slightly to his hooves but remained in a crouching position so that the mare couldn't see him, the walked quietly down the distance of the balcony keeping his eyes carefully focused on her.
The mare took a seat near a desk and grabbed a small medical spray“Huh I'm surprised that captain Shining armour and some of his men managed to steal some of our technologies but some of them failed when they tried to infiltrate our facility”Thorax thought to himself.
The mare tried to look for an exit near her but she couldn't find any exit, after a few moments she seemed to give up and stare at the floor.
As Thorax approached closer from the balcony above her the wooden floor that he was standing on squeaked slightly under his hoof.
When Thorax heard the squeaking noise under him he instantly put one hoof on the railing and jumped up and over it to the ground below so that the mare couldn't see him.
He landed with a thud of his dark gray boots hitting the solid floor , he activated his horn and aimed it at her as she spun around activating her horn and aimed it at him as well.
Being up closer now Thorax was able to have a better look at the mare , her face was purple , she had a purple horn , purple eye's , she had purple wings , purple hooves , her cutie mark was a symbol of a sparkle and she was wearing a red jacket.
Thorax assumed the pony to be an alicorn considering the wings and the unicorn horn she was a fairly young mare.
“She's almost as tall as me kind of attractive yet tough looking not that it means anything in this situation. ”Thorax thought to himself.
The mare aimed her horn directly at Thorax and studied his gas mask uncertainly.
"Who are you ?" The mare demanded.

The princess and the death
September 29th Manehatten police department first floor
The atmosphere between them as they walked was tense. It didn't have anything to do with the fact there were zombie's and bioweapons all over the infested city.
Surprisingly the narrow hall they walked down was empty and quiet apart from Thoraxes boots treading on the hardwood floor.
Thorax then decided to probe more knowledge.
“I should learn some more about her, information can usually come in handy” he thought.
"How did you make it through the horde at the front of the department princess Sparkle?" Thorax asked Twilight casually as they walked down the dark and empty hallway.
Thorax activated a small flashlight on the left side of his mask lighting up their path clearly "They were grouped up together down there pretty well. There must have been a few B.O.W.'s in the streets too from what I saw" He finished.
Twilight glanced over at him briefly and said "They were scattered throughout the street by the time I got there not in a large group. I had to run through them all to get to the department, they swarmed together after I got through them"
"But surely the B.O.W.'s would have given you a harder time though right ?" Thorax commented.
“Should I tell him about the Nemesis ?” Twilight wondered to herself “I guess I may as well.. just in case it comes back”
Twilight cleared her throat as they rounded a corner and said"Well you see.. I met up with an acquaintance of my brother's down there named Rocky a stallion pegasus in his team. He warned me from across the street about something from the tyrant series a 'Nemesis'" She continued.
Thorax said nothing but listened intently.
“A Nemesis ? I wasn't aware that Umbrella's changeling scientist had completed them yet” Thorax thought to himself“I saw one of their trench-coated Mr X's on my way up here not sure where the thing went must be wandering in the sewers”
"Well... then he.. well.. this giant creature in a black outfit, it's face was so deformed... It jumped down off a building and landed in front of Rocky" Twilight said sadly.
"It picked him up off the ground, raised it's other hoof and a tentacle extended from it and the creature jammed it through him. The other zombie's were approaching and I had to turn away and fight. When I looked back it dropped him, pointed at me and said something"
Twilight stopped talking and shook her head.
Thorax looked sideways as he walked beside her into her soft purple eye's carefully observing the silent details they betrayed.
“She's tough enough to get through the other creature's... but she's still slightly afraid of that Nemesis. It's too obvious no matter how well she tries to hide it” Thorax thought.
"What did it say to you princess Sparkle?" He asked.
They stopped in front of a cold metal door marked with bold white lettering on it. It read: M.P.D(Manehatten Police Department) Armory, Proper Authorization Is Required For Entrance.
Twilight lowered her horn and turned to face Thorax. She stared firmly into his gas mask's red tinted eye pieces.
"It said 'Princess'" Twilight replied"That thing pointed at me and said 'Princess' this.. Nemesis.. is hunting my teacher Celestia, Luna, Cadence, me and my friends and I know who sent it. Umbrella. The queen and the changeling agents wants us all dead for interfering with some of their missions , sick plans and stealing some of their technologies. They want us silenced"
Thorax was quiet for a moment.
“Who in Umbrella ordered that mission? The Nemesis was still an experimental phase last time I checked. They must have sped up production.. Desperation?”
Then Thorax looked at her and said"That doesn't matter to me. It's not my mission to save anypony from tyrants , B.O.W.'s or corporations. I've read reports about the bioweapons attacking ponyville, Fillydelphia and Canterlot. Even some about the ponies involved. Rocky was a coward by all accounts. Even earned himself the nickname 'Chicken heart' from what I've heard" Thorax replied to her coldly.
Twilight glared at him and said"You're pretty well informed on everything big guy. He may have been called 'Chicken heart' ... but at least, unlike you he had a heart" Twilight replied scathingly. "You're willing to put innocent lives below your 'mission'. What is that mission even ? It certainly isn't to help anypony"
Thorax smirked to himself.
“There's some fire in her” said Thorax in his mind.
"My mission is my own business. There are no innocents princess Sparkle. Survival is everyponies own responsibility, not relying on others for everything. I make no apologies. Besides Rocky left you and your brother Shining to die when fighting those B.O.W.'s one time in Canterlot. I'm surprised you weren't the one to kill him for that" Thorax said coldly.
Twilight jabbed the front of Thorax's chest armour.
"Rocky couldn't handle what he saw there... he just, he wasn't prepared for that. Then again.. I don't see how anypony can 'prepare' for something like this" She told him. "Who could possibly train to fight those monsters, zombie's and tyrants that by all accounts even exist?"
Thorax smiled to himself again.
“Well, me, for one, princess Sparkle. Wonder how much this comment will throw her off?” Thorax thought in his mind.
"Only the best can survive in this contamination princess Sparkle. That's why you're still alive, situations like this are the ultimate test of a ponies ability to adapt just like the incident in most of the places in Equestria. Don't get stupid now and screw that up" Thorax remarked calmly.
Twilight stopped, eyes widening.
“What the heck did that cold blooded jerk just wrap a compliment to me in an insult ?” Twilight thought angrily in her mind.
Before Twilight could formulate a reply, Thorax motioned to the armory before them"Enough of your droning princess Sparkle. We don't have time for this here. Let's see what's left in the armory" said Thorax resuming his usual cold tone.
Twilight looked at him a moment longer confusion etched on her thin face, then nodded grudgingly"Yeah let's go" She replied.
Thorax reached his left gloved hoof and grasped the metal door handle. He opened it and it squeaked a little.
"Be ready it's not locked" Thorax warned.
Twilight raised and activated her horn and she leveled it at the door"On three ?" She asked.
Thorax nodded his glowing horn focused on the door"Okay. One.... Two.... Three!" Twilight told him.
Thorax drew back a boot and kicked the door open fully and the door crashed against the wall and they stepped inside.
Thorax carefully scanned the dark room with his flashlight, there were a bunch of lockers behind a cluttered desk most of them were swung open and completely empty. Several rotting bodies laid on the ground. Six zombie's leaned over the bodies, feeding.
They looked up at the two figures standing in the doorway and stood slowly, the zombies outstretched their hooves and began moaning and they walked towards Thorax and Twilight.
Thorax leveled the flashlight on the head of the first two and fired a single magic shot into each.
Blood and bits of gray matter splattered all over the locker behind it. A burst of noise followed by a piece of brass falling on the ground sounded through the enclosed room, Twilight aimed her horn at the trio closet to her and fired 6 shots into a pairs heads, and three into the other one.
The sixth zombie neared Thorax slowly, reaching out for him and moaning hungrily.
Thorax stepped forward, seized it by the throat in a powerful grip, then placed his right boot behind the creatures hoof. He pushed it backwards by the throat and the zombie tripped back to the ground.
It struggled to rise as Thorax walked over and stepped onto it's neck, pinning it down. It tried grabbing at Thorax's hoof. He calmly aimed his glowing horn again and shot once more into it's head, blood splattering out of the hole in it's head.
It's body twitched as Thorax lifted his hoof back off it's neck.
Suddenly Twilight raised one hoof to cover her nose so that she doesn't throw up from the smell"Oh sweet Celestia... that stench.. rotting flesh. It makes me wish that I had a gas mask on, like you" She muttered.
Thorax shook his head as the light on his mask passed over the uniformed bodies"I don't have a spare one on me, and I'm not sharing this one" He replied in an uncaring muffled voice.
"I wouldn't want to share that thing with you Thorax" Twilight shot back. "So don't worry about it" .
Thorax looked to the right of the door they just opened, scanning the wall. Finally, he found a light switch and he flicked it and the lights in the room were on.
"They must have thought hiding in the dark from these creatures would work. Foolish" He commented icily. "The T-Virus spread's rapidly"
The bodies that the zombies had been feasting on were those of police officers, each laying under a thick puddle of their own blood, bite wounds were all over their bodies. From the look of the 9MM casings all over the floor, this site had been a last stand.
Thorax turned off his flashlight and motioned her across the room to the lockers, a single heavy metal lock was attached to four unopened lockers.
"Shoot them off princess Sparkle" He ordered "See what's in there" .
Twilight raised and activated her horn, then she aimed at the first lock and fired and broke the locker, the blast echoed through the room and sparks flew as the lock shattered and dropped to the ground, Twilight did the same to the three other lockers.
Thorax swung open the first locker revealing several combat knives with sheaths.
Twilight examined the three other lockers and one of them also had a combat knife with a sheath, that she reached out for and slipped it into her belt.
"We take what we can carry. There is no sense in taking too much, as we need to remain mobile" Thorax told her as he grabbed a combat knife from the locker and tucked it into one of his pockets.
Twilight then opened the other lockers and it had some throwing knives "These will come in handy" said Twilight as she grabbed the knives.
Thorax walked up to her with a box, he put the box on the ground near her and said "Here are some sheaths for your throwing knives"
"Thank you" said Twilight as she grabbed the sheaths and tucked the throwing knives into them then she tucked her sheathed throwing knives into her belt.
Twilight looked at Thorax and said "Do you need anything else ?"
Thorax shook his head and said "This is all I need for myself right now. If there's anything you can't carry on you, I have some more space on my belt" He replied calmly"I've carried much more than this on me before have you ?" He asked.
"What ? Are you saying that I'm weak ?" Twilight asked glaring at him.
"Not really so got anything in mind on how to get out of this station ?"
There was a silence for a few seconds, then Twilight spoke up again.
"Okay so here's the plan I was thinking. We can climb over to a neighboring apartment from the roof of the precinct by using one of the metal scaffolds on it" She explained"Some of the apartments around the city were getting more work done to them, you see. They weren't yet completed when the T-Virus hit. We can head to the roof of that building and do the same with the apartment next to it. Luckily, they're all fairly close together. Once we get to the second building away from the department, we can probably head down to the streets, and start moving faster. There likely isn't a swarm of monsters around that building, just scattered ones"
Thorax nodded to her.
“Clever idea” He acknowledged silently.
"It'll probably take awhile to get to the third building . However, it would be safer then taking the streets around the department. But I'm betting the apartments aren't as cleared as most of the precinct is" Thorax replied"Let's get going. We have three floors to climb"
Thorax took point and walked out of the armory with Twilight following closely.

Heading to the roof and a terrifying encounter
The racket of zombies scratching, pounding and biting at the doors of the main hall came back to them instantly once they got back to the main desk.
"They'll get in eventually", Thorax commented.
Twilight looked to the door and said "I know. They're stupid slow but restless monsters", she replied.
"We'll be gone by the time they get in anyways", Thorax told her calmly.
Thorax looked up to the long metal ladder that hung down from the balcony of the second floor above them. He put his hoof onto the first step. He reached above him, gripped a rung above him and began to climb. The metal pads on his knees and elbows changed slightly against the rungs as he climbed.
Twilight tucked her combat knife into her shoulder strap, approached the ladder and began climbing up behind him. She looked up after Thorax as she stepped up the first few rungs noticing his hooves and more.
“You know for such a jerk.. even in the full covering outfit, he certainly has some nice muscles” Twilight found herself thinking. A split second later, her eyes bulged and she blushed a little “Whoa.. where in Equestria did that thought come from Twilight? He's an uncaring jerk!”
Twilight shook her head and forced herself back to focus.
Thorax latched onto the last rung and pulled himself up onto the balcony and Twilight did the same.
"Okay we need to get to that staircase" Twilight told him as she activated her horn.
"Yeah this way", Thorax replied calmly activating his horn as well.
They crossed the length of the balcony, towards the open wooden door that Thorax had came through earlier, Thorax activated the flashlight on the left side of his mask lighting up the staircase of the dark hallway. Thorax walked up the stairs slowly.
Finally they neared the top of the second floor. Thorax stopped suddenly in his tracks right on top of the staircase, right before rounding the corner. Twilight accidentally walked headfirst into his armoured back.
"Ow, hey, why did you-"
"Quiet princess Sparkle"
"What ?"
"Listen"
Twilight listened. There was nothing but dead silence for a few seconds but then there was a familiar hissing coming on the roof of the hall, she turned and whispered back to Thorax.
"A licker"
"Yes I'll shine the light on it. Use your throwing knives"
Twilight nodded as she unsheathed her throwing knives "okay be careful they jump far and move quickly and they also have a long tongue"
Thorax nodded, raising the flashlight, Twilight stepped beside him preparing to throw her small throwing knives at it.
"Now"
Thorax leaned to the side, peaking around the corner and pointing his flashlight at the dark roof. It stopped on a distorted fleshy coloured shape.
Twilight stepped past Thorax and threw the knives at the licker and it immediately emit a screech of pain and rage. It dropped off the roof at an astonishing speed and scrambled at the same speed towards the pair of survivors.
The licker lunged at Thorax with its tongue whipping through the air, Thorax bent his body downwards and shot it in the belly and the magic shot went through it chest and the licker fell on the floor dead.
"Nice moves" said Twilight.
"It's just a part of my training" said Thorax.
"Let's go we have one more floor to go up and we're on the roof" Twilight told him.
Thorax already knew this but wasn't about to reveal that to her.
They continued on down the hall slowly, stepping through the puddles of the Lickers blood which caused Twilight to close her eyes.
As they rounded the next corner, a moan rang in the air. A formerly young mare, now a zombie grabbed Thorax by the shoulder and tried to pull him in.
Twilight raised her horn but before she could shoot the zombie, there was muffled noise as Thorax head butted the zombie in the nose with his metal helmet, it's head snapped back and the creature staggered backwards moaning. Thorax drew back his right boot and raised a high kick aimed and her head. There was a crunch as his solid grey boot connected with her face, the zombie fell to the ground. Twilight aimed down and shot it once between the eyes before it could rise, it convulsed for a moment and soon stopped.
Thorax turned to Twilight for a moment and back to the hallway and the kept on moving quietly.
They kept on moving quietly, Twilight stopped in front of the next broken wooden door to their right with another zombie's body in front of it.
"Somepony broke this ones neck" Twilight muttered looking at the uniformed body and continuing on.
Thorax nodded.
“That would be me princess Sparkle” He spoke in his mind.
They headed down the quiet hallway, passing officers and magic ridden bodies until they reached the next staircase, leading to the roof.
When they claimed on the staircase Twilight gripped the cold metal handle with his gloved hoof and twisted the handle and pushed the door open.
The cold night air fell upon her bare hooves when she walked to the roof.
"Brrrr it's freezing up here! I hate the cold!" Said Twilight as she glanced back at Thorax who was closing the door behind them so that the other zombies wouldn't get to them.
“He must be boiling in all that armour though” Twilight thought.
However if Thorax was hot and uncomfortable he certainly wasn't showing any signs of it.
Twilight took several steps forward and looked up at the beautiful night sky above them. The stars were out and twinkling, along with the full moon. A sharp contrast to the horror, chaos and destruction on the once peaceful city that lay below them. Twilight watched clouds of thick smoke rising from the city in the far distance.
“Why did it have to happen? Umbrella, the changelings and the queen has to pay for this” Twilight thought to herself.
Thorax turned and watched Twilight staring sadly at the ruined city in the distance and he shook his head “I don't need her distracted from the task.. she's too skilled to make a rookie mistake”, Thorax said to himself in his mind.
Then he walked to Twilight's side, laying a gloved hoof upon her shoulder and firmly, yet gently, gripped it. She flinched in surprise at the warmth of the touch against her skin. It felt oddly welcoming against the coldness.
"Pay attention to the mission ahead princess Sparkle. What's done is done brooding is dangerous during a mission" He told her quietly then removed his hoof.
Twilight stared at the city a moment longer and then looked back to him.
"I know let's get off this rooftop", She replied.
They both moved slowly across the roof towards the apartment building which was a few floors larger then the precinct, Thorax stopped at the edge of the large roof and peered over the side, the narrow alleyway lay three stories below to see a metal scaffold just below, not quite on the third floor but above the second floor. A Windows leading to one of the apartments was just above the scaffold then Twilight stepped beside him and examined the scaffold.
"Do you think it'll support the weight of the two of us ?", She asked.
Thorax said nothing for a moment, thinking about it, then replied pointing to the scaffold.
"One of us can jump first break open that window and climb through it to the department. The second person can do the same once the first person is inside", he told her.
Twilight nodded in agreement then looked sideways into his gas mask.
"Who goes first?", She asked.

The princess and the death
September 29th Manehatten police department rooftop
The pony and the changeling stood on the roof of the precinct, peering over the edge.
"It doesn't really matter to me who jumps first", Umbrella Agent Thorax replied in his cold muffled voice.
"I'll go"said Thorax.
Twilight Sparkle took a couple of steps back "Alright it'd be best if you got a running jump first", She suggested.
Thorax nodded and took fifteen large steps away.
"Be careful it's a narrow alley, but a pretty far jump" Twilight told him.
Thorax got into a running stance “1..2...Now!”
Thorax raced forward across the roof of the precinct in a really fast speed which amazed Twilight, as his right boot touched the brick edge of the building he jumped off it with all his might.
There was a moment of free fall as he sailed down the building. He landed roughly across the alley on the scaffold with a thud, now in a crouching position, the scaffold creaked and moved slightly but held up under the sudden weight.
Thorax rose to his feet and looked at Twilight and she had a worried and scared look "It isn't difficult princess Sparkle just wait a few moments while I get off this thing"
"Alright" Twilight called back and tucked her combat knife in her shoulder straps.
Thorax turned around towards a large window leading into the well lit apartment.
He drew back his metal covered knee and smashed it through the window and glass rained down into the dark alley below, Thorax then cleared out the remaining glass from the window pane with a few quick swipes of his gloved hoof he then placed his hoof on the window frame and pulled himself up and inside the apartment.
He activated his horn and began looking around inside the apartment to see if there's any zombies or bioweapons in there but there was nothing.
"Huh nothing here that's a good sign and it's a good thing that I didn't used my wings when I jumped here because if I did princess Sparkle would find out that I'm a changeling" Thorax said to himself quietly.
Then he turned and walked back over to the window and looked up at Twilight again on the opposite building.
"Okay your up princess Sparkle", He called up.
Twilight nodded nervously and took some steps back just as Thorax had done "Here goes nothing" Twilight said to herself.
Thorax watched as she ran towards the edge of the building. When she neared the edge she leaped off it gracefully and spread her wings then she glided and landed in the apartment.
"Phew wouldn't want to fall down there" Twilight muttered looking down the alley and saw many zombies had lurched away from the swarm at the front and into the alley and they were looking up at her.
"I doubt anypony would" said Thorax.
Twilight turned to the window in which Thorax stood then crossed the scaffolding.
Thorax reached out a gloved hoof which she took and he helped pull her up and over the high window frame. Twilight landed next to him inside the apartment.
Again the warmth of his glove against her cool hoof felt very welcome. Twilight found herself almost regretting when he removed it, she activated her horn and stood next to Thorax.
"Let's continue up to this roof now, we have a few floors to climb" She told him.
Thorax inclined his head.
"I'll take the point", He stated calmly motioning over to the wooden blue painted front door of the apartment.
"I've got your back" Twilight told him firmly as she followed him to the door.
Thorax stopped in front of the door, raised his glowing horn, drew back the heel of his boot and brought it right into the door beside the handle.
The door burst wide open under the sudden force and Thorax rushed out the apartment, aiming down the left side of the long hallway. Twilight rushed around to the right side, stood back to back with him and aimed her glowing horn down the opposite side of the hall.
Hungry inpony moans rang through the air on both sides of the hall, Thorax targeted the zombie nearest to him, a former middle aged stallion, and blew his brains out with a single shot of his magic. Next he targeted the former stallion and mare behind the collapsed zombie.
Twilight leveled her horn at a zombie crawling on the ground towards her and shot it with her magic and made its head blow and it nearly made her throw up.
When Thorax turned around she saw Twilight with a green face probably because of the zombie she killed so he walked up to her and covered her eyes with his gloved hoof.
Twilight gasped and blushed when she noticed that he covered her eyes with his gloved hoof then he lead her away from the zombie she had killed then he removed his hoof from her face and said "Feeling better princess Sparkle ?"
"Yes thank you"
Then a zombie was walking towards Thorax and was about to scratch his mask so he ducked the attack and grabbed his head, then he gave the head a quick jerk upwards and to the right snapping it's neck cleanly.
"My favourite attack" Thorax said to himself.
"Whoa a neck breaker move ?" Twilight asked him crouching and examining the dead zombie "you should teach me that move... but preferably not on me"
"Maybe"
Then there was a creaking noise above them and they quickly looked up.
"What in Equestria was that ?", Twilight asked Thorax.
"A Licker ? Another bioweapon ?" Thorax suggested calmly.
Then the rooftop shook with incredible force, then a silent cold dear gripped Twilight by the heart suddenly.
“Oh no please don't be what I think it is” said Twilight in her mind scared.
Thorax was about to say something, when the ceiling burst open a large hole revealing the night sky above. Something dark and heavy dropped through the hole and onto the hardwood floor in front of them, Twilight looked away from the large cloud shielding her eyes from the dust.
The dust around the figure slowly settled.
Twilight lowered her hoof as her vision cleared and she turned back to the gigantic crouched figure in front of them, which Thorax was already starring at, his gas mask emotionless.
Twilight's heart pounded rapidly in her chest as she took in the creatures full appearance.
“It's even more hideous up close” She thought fighting back a wave of revulsion.
It stood fully upright. It had hooves of a changeling, it's face was brown, it's coat was armoured black and had glowing eye and it held a giant bow gun.
It let out a deep growl, raised it's hoof and pointed at Twilight.
"PRINCESSSSSSS!" The Nemesis growled at her.
"Uh oh" Twilight said to herself quietly.

The princess and the death
Thorax and Twilight vs Nemesis
Manehatten City, September 29th, 7th floor of first apartment building.
A jolt of adrenaline surged throughout Thorax's body at the sight of the hulking Nemesis standing before them.
It was almost as if the world slowed down a little around him. His years if military training and leadership in the changelings Umbrella military facility had prepared him for handling moments like this. Beating the situation no matter the odds.
In one burst of speed, Thorax turned, reached over and grabbed Twilight's hoof just as the Nemesis raised it's first strike out at her. He pulled her over to the poorly painted front door of the apartment numbered: 10G, and kicked it wide open.
The locked door splintered and burst opened under the force of Thorax's strength.
Thorax and Twilight hurtled into the room. Twilight nearly tripped over a carpet to the ground and stopped in front of a lamp on her immediate left.
"Get ready for it!" Thorax ordered.
They raised their weapons, leveled at the open door and the hallway in front of it, they backed away a few steps and waited for the Nemesis to plunder through.
A few moments passed and nothing happened. The only noise Thorax could hear was Twilight's rapid breathing.
She stared at the door in confusion and glanced over to him.
"Where do you think it-"
Twilight wasn't able to finish her sentence when the Nemesis broke the door opened, spreading debris all over the apartment.
It stood on the pile of rubble, looking down at them.
"PRINCESSSSSS!" It growled again, charging towards them, it's coat shaking slightly with each step.
Every step it made also caused a booming noise to ring throughout the apartment.
Twilight shot it rapidly in the chest with her magic but she did nothing to it, then it moved closer and closer towards them.
Thorax tried to shoot it with his magic beam but it only had little effect, in a flash Thorax remembered one of the particular things he was currently carrying on his belt.
"Back here!" Thorax ordered, pushing Twilight backwards away from the apartments kitchen, around the corner into the large front living room.
Twilight tried to fight it but her magic didn't do anything to it's coat.
"Just die already." Twilight said in her mind then she heard Thorax calling her.
"Get out of the way princess Sparkle!" Thorax ordered roughly as he pulled a small metal pin from the tube.
Twilight turned away from the Nemesis and noticed the small familiar object in Thorax's hoof and her purple eyes widened in surprise.
Thorax then threw the metal tube at the Nemesis.
When the Nemesis heard a ticking sound underneath him he looked down and saw a hand grenade made by the changelings.
It growled at Thorax angrily but then the grenade exploded making it fall three stories below and into an alleyway knocking it out cold.
Back in the apartment
The impact of the explosion sent Twilight flying across the room, she got thrown into the wall and shards of glass fell on her and the apartment was on fire, Thorax didn't have any injuries.
When Twilight opened her eyes she saw the apartment on fire.
"Oh no! I have to get out of here." Twilight said to herself as she tried to get up but she immediately felt pain on her back hoof.
"What the?" Said Twilight looking at her hoof and she saw a shard of glass stabbed into it.
She tried to pull it out of her but then she screamed in pain and lied on the floor.
When Thorax looked at Twilight he saw that she had a shard of glass stabbed into her back hoof.
"Must be a shrapnel wound, I've seen it before back in my missions in Canterlot." Thorax said to himself in his mind.
"Thorax... are you still there? I need your... I need some help... please." She weezed, between loud coughs. "I can't... I.."
Thorax nodded to himself as he deactivated his horn and started to move to Twilight.
But before he could reach her, a familiar icy, disciplined voice from deep in his mind spoke up to him.
"What are you doing Thorax? Leave her here. She's become a liability and also she is not one of you." Said the icy cold logical voice.
Thorax came to a stop suddenly a couple of metres in front of her considering this thought.
"I don't know. I mean she does trusts me right now but maybe your right she is not one of me, she is a pony and a princess and our changelings agents duties are to eliminate and capture as many ponies as we can." Said Thorax turning away from Twilight and walking to the roof of the apartment.
But before he could move away from her a second thought came into his mind and this one was nice, kind and friendly.
"No she isn't Thorax go help her out. You were the one who escorted her out of the police department and you did cared for her when battling the zombies and the licked back in the station, this is your chance to make a change, if you go save her you can gain her trust and friendship." It said in a nice voice.
Thorax turned back and looked at Twilight and saw her on the ground in pain because of her wound and the shard glass stabbed into her back hoof.
Thorax had to make a decision right now.
"I mean she does trusts me right now." Thorax said to the two voices.
"Oh really? Think about this Thorax what if she finds out that you are a changeling and an agent will she love you or will she hate you?" Asked the icy and cold voice in his head.
"No Thorax she won't, just save her and everything will be alright, you might even get her as a special somepony." Said the nice, kind and friendly voice.
Thorax had an irritated face from the second voice in his head and he looked back at Twilight.
"Enough of this Thorax are you gonna save her? Or are you gonna abandon her?" Asked the icy and cold voice.
After that Thorax began thinking.
Author's Note
Finally! The new chapter in my old story finally written please enjoy.
The princess and the death
Thorax was standing in the burning apartment while looking at Twilight and there are two voices in his head. One of them was an icy and cold voice, the icy and cold voice was telling him to abandon her and walk away but there was another voice in his head and this one was kind and friendly and the kind and friendly voice was telling him to go save her because it was the right thing to do.
Thorax was having a hard time making the decision on whether to save her or not.
"She's expendable and has served her use. She'll just slow you down and interfere with the mission and the mission mist take priority over everything else." The icy voice replied.
"The mission will still take top priority, as it always does. She's a living being just like you." The nice and kind voice replied.
"She's slowing down your entire mission. Wherever she goes, the Nemesis will follow, it'll make you run out of your magic and it will make you loose your weapons. It is rentless." Said the icy and cold voice.
"Twilight came up with the idea to use the rooftops, she's smart, just like you when you were a foal Thorax." The firm voice shot back.
"You were willing to let another team die in the sewers. She begged you to save her, you refused. Why are you risking the mission to help this one?" The cold voice replied.
"You never jeopardize the mission." The firm voice stated. "The only difference between princess Sparkle and the other team, is that the other team was mortally wounded by doctor Chaos. There was no way you could save her, even if you bothered making the attempt. Plus you were three fourths the way way up the precinct by that time. You would have had to backtrack all the way to the sewer and she'd be dead by then. It would have interfered with the mission. Princess Twilight is laying right here in front of you with a non-life threatening wound. The other team was a valuable resource, but she was expandable. The only reason you'd go out of your way for Princess Sparkle, is so she can show you across Manehatten City." The kind and friendly voice finished.
"Are you sure that's the only reason to go out of your way?" The cold voice mocked him "Your absolutely sure that the city is the only thing you want the attractive young princess Twilight to show you? How would Nighthawk and your men back in the hive will see you as?" It finished.
Thorax closed his eyes tightly.
"Having feelings during a mission I undertake has ever happened and will never happen. In the unlikely case it were ever to happen, I wouldn't let it interfere in the least. That isn't even the reason I want her help." Thorax replied to the two voices in his head.
"Really? You do well suppressing all emotion, it's true.. But why did you take a passing glance at her look and outfit back in the armory? Or lay your hoof across her head back on the helipad when she looked sad? She certainly does have a nice figure on her, and are you in love with her Thorax?" The cold voice asked him.
"I don't feel anything for her and I'm definitely not in love with her, that's not the issue at hoof." Thorax stated emotionlessly.
"Clutching straws now, are we Thorax? Or lying to yourself? Don't forget the queen and Umbrella clearly wants her dead... And your current presence is helping her survive."
"I'm not breaking any orders from my queen or Umbrella. My mission is to deliver the G-virus to the queen back in the hive to make a new bioweapon. Not to eliminate ponies or princesses." Thorax replied to the cold voice.
"And if the queen put a bounty on her head? They probably have, and she could be worth quite a bit." The cold voice told him.
"I won't go for it. I'm not a recruited convict or a hired thug like all those useless U.B.C.S and I'm certainly not doing this for bits, I'm doing this to deliver the virus."
"Well if you don't kill her, it's bound to make the queen angry."
"Then the queen or Umbrella should have came to me directly and assigned me a mission to do that. Instead they chose to send a B.O.W after her. It didn't say anywhere in my orders that I was going after the princesses, my loyalty to Umbrella and the queen will never be questioned. I'm already the best agent they have. I've done more for them than any other changeling soldiers."
"Somepony in Umbrella had your extraction plan scrambled. Somepony wants you to be late delivering the G-virus sample, or is testing you Thorax." The cold voice said to him.
"I already know exactly who that pony is. I'll beat them by still delivering the virus sample first. I can deal with it later. The mission has changed unexpectedly, and I need to make full use of all the resources available to be." Thorax replied to the cold voice.
"Don't be foolish Thorax. That Nemesis will continue following you while she lives."
"Then I'll kill it. I've survived every seemingly suicidal mission I've ever had. Nothing can kill me. I've already trained against and killed tyrants and royal guards before, back at the military training facility."
"But never against anything like this new prototype the changeling scientists made."
"It'll die like any other type, no matter the upgrades it has. I can handle it, remember I've even defeated Celestia one time."
"Yes you did back in one of your missions but they wouldn't appreciate it being destroyed. It's a valuable bioweapon that they've been working hard on and creating."
"I'll tell them the truth, if they ask. Nothing stands in my way." Thorax simply replied to the cold voice.
"Her skills in magic may be sharp, but they are inferior compared to yours. She is weak and she and her friends hate Umbrella and the changelings."
"She's a princess and she has her pony subjects what would they do without her?" The kind and friendly voice asked quietly.
"She is emotional and dangerous to the mission." The cold voice replied.
"That's part of her own personality. It isn't dangerous if one knows how to handle it, and I do. Her, her friends and Shining armour were able to beat the odds in Canterlot a few months ago. The odds were completely stacked against them. Why should I leave her to burn to death or be eaten alive in this stupid apartment building? That's too undignified." Thorax replied to the cold voice.
"That's hypocritical, Thorax. You told the other team that survival was their own responsibility, and they ended up dying in a filthy sewer." The cold voice reminded him.
"The other team was fully aware of the risks the mission held, just like the Alpha team did. The queen always knows what it's gotten into. We're the best there is." Thorax told the cold voice.
"Thorax?..." Twilight coughed out again, still struggling to open her eyes against the smoke.
She attempted to rise, but let out a pained moan as she brushed her injured hoof against the floor, and stopped.
"Twilight is wounded." Said the cold voice.
"I have enough medical expertise to handle it, my past training and studies covered it. Besides, it doesn't look too serious anyway. The smoke is doing more damage to her." Thorax replied to the cold voice.
"It'll probably take time to fix her up and she'll probably need to rest." The cold voice told him.
"I can contact Nighthawk for more information later, he can give suggestions on an alternative extraction. We can pick up the pace in the morning, since we have three days."
"That's right Thorax." Said the kind and friendly voice.
"Well then time to choose Thorax. Are you gonna save her or are you going to leave her behind to get rid of the Nemesis?" The cold voice asked him.
Thorax stared back down at Twilight again, and in a brief moment, he made up his mind.
Author's Note
Well here you have it guys, the new chapter of my old story completed and what do you think Thorax is going to do? Is he going to save her or is he going to abandon her?
The princess and the death
Escaping the apartment part 1
A parade of dead hoof shuffled slowly up the creaking staircase towards the seventh floor.
The hungry moaning zombies had been alerted by the noise of the grenade exploding. It had echoed through the apartment building.
The zombies walked slowly walked slowly with outstretched hooves, tumbling onwards.
Twilight was trying to get away from the fire in the apartment floor she was lying on but her injured hoof stopped her.
"Thorax?", she repeated, more quietly.
Twilight Sparkle played on the floor with her stomach on the ground. She struggled, attempting again to rise from the floor but she failed.
She was getting dizzy from the lack of oxygen, and she felt herself slowly slipping away, her vision became hazy and blotted. Sweat poured from her forehead as the room became increasingly hot.
"Where are you?", She asked loudly and coughing loudly.
The only noise that replied was the crackle of fire all over the apartment
Unconsciousness was on it's way for her now, and would soon after be surely followed by suffocation.
"Where did he go?" Twilight asked herself in her mind.
She coughed loudly again, another jolt of sharp pain shot through her chest and back hoof as she did.
Suddenly a horrible realization sprang into her mind at once, and she felt her heart sink to the bottom of her stomach, and her eyes sparkle with tears.
"H-he left me here to die... after all I've gone through and survived, I'm going to suffocate in this apartment... It's not fair... goodbye Equestria." Twilight said to herself with a tear rolling down her cheek.
Faintly, in the distance, she could hear what sounded like hoofsteps coming towards her from doen a long tunnel, over top the noise of tje inferno across the room and it was pacing across the floorboards.
She then opened her eyes a slit, her own hazy vision made it impossible to make the dark shape out. She closed her eyes again against the harsh fumes.
"It must be a hallucination.. of what? Death?" Twilight asked herself in her mind.
"Your not dying here princess Sparkle." A distorted voice told Twilight, hovering on top of her.
Her eyes shot fully open this time in surprise, even against the foul smoke and haze.
She felt a strong, covered hoof wrapping around her bare back and another underneath her hooves, picking her up off of the floor easily.
Twilight gasped out loudly, as she rose into the air, her heart pounding furiously.
"That's not a hallucination...what?"
She reached her hooves out through her haze and clutched at the figure desperately, feeling the hard material it wore.
The hoof under her hooves was careful not to accidentally touch the wounded spot on her back hoof, as the hoof supported her, all she could hear from the figure was an oddly muffled heavy breathing.
Twilight wrapped her hooves around it's shoulder, holding onto it like a drowning mare clutching a life preserver and she gazed upwards at it's face.
She could make out the familiar metal helmet and large, impenetrable red eyes on it's unusual face, and a strange shape seemed to protrude from the front of the mouth portion, another circular shape was on the left side of the mouth, and a smaller one on the right.
The field of haze faded slightly from her vision, and Twilight could see that she was now staring into the gas mask and her soft eyes widened.
"He didn't leave me." Twilight said to herself quietly and surprised.
"Thorax... i-is it you?" She managed to speak, ignoring the pain in her throat and her mind racing confusedly.
"Who do you think? The Nemesis?" Thorax's muffled voice suggested slowly, as he turned them back towards the doorway and moved towards it.
Twilight could have cried in relief at hearing that familiar muffled voice, but forced herself calm.
"No, I just didn't expect that a cold blooded jerk like you would ever-" Twilight started quietly, a hint of smile starting to touch her lips.
Thorax's eyes narrowed behind his mask.
"Enough talk, princess Sparkle. We're going up to the rooftop and crossing over again." He reminded her Sicily as he passed the kitchen "Focus on the mission and spare me the emotions and then we can talk." He added grudgingly.
"I'm actually happy to see him." She thought to herself.
Thorax stared down at her smiling face and he blushed behind his mask.
"I'm probably going to end up regretting this." Thorax thought to himself bitterly.
He carried her out the smoldering apartment and into the zombie filled, brass casing covered hall.
He looked up at the gaping hole in the ceiling above that the Nemesis had burst open earlier, and seeing the night sky above.
Twilight gasped in the fresh air and quickly brushed a strand of hair out of her eyes.
"Thank Celestia.. I never thought I'd breath again." She stammered, both hooves gripping onto his back.
He glanced to their right side, back at the staircase, as rotting zombies staggered up the wooden stairs and caught sight of the pair survivors, Twilight looked over Thorax's right shoulder at the monsters shuffling down the hall towards him.
"Let's get out of here!" She told him.
"Shoot the zombies off with your magic." Thorax ordered.
Twilight nodded and activated her horn and she fired it at the zombies head and each of them fell on the floor dead.
Thorax reached the final step of the tall staircase and looked up, a red neon sign was glowing just above the door. It was shaped in a single obvious word: EXIT
Thorax moved the hooves supporting Twilight's hooves, gripped the handle of the wooden door and pushed it open roughly, the door swung open and Thorax carried Twilight through.
The cold night air fell upon Twilight once again and goosebumps rose up over her body.
"It's freezing out here!" Twilight thought.
She shivered and tightened her grip again on Thorax's warm outfit.
"We should close the door behind us, it'll slow them down for a couple of seconds." Twilight suggested.
"That's what I was going to do." He replied calmly.
He turned back around and pushed the door shut with his pot, then turned back to the roof.
Once they reached the end of the roof and they looked down and it was a 7 stories fall.
"That's a long way down." Twilight commented.
Thorax ignored her and looked up from the alley, searching across the side for his target, his eye pieces stopped on a small metal scaffold, that hibg on the adjacent apartment building. It was lined up directly across the alley with where they were on the roof. The opposite building was one story taller though and there was alsi a small panel of buttons on the scaffold, and a long rail hung around the entire edge of it.
Thorax nodded to himself slightly, considering his plan.
"We can get a running jump, grab onto the rail and pull ourselves up. The scaffold is better than the one we used earlier.. I can use the control panel to take us up a story to that roof, then find the nearest clear floor and take her to an apartment, work on the wound, if she's up to it." He thought calmly and prepared.

Got you guys with a cliff hanger and don't worry I'll get the next chapter up really soon.
The princess and the death
Escaping the apartment part 2
When Thorax had that plan in his head, he looked back down at the young princess in his hooves.
"Do you think you can stand? Jump?" He asked her.
"I'd better try and see." She replied.
Thorax lowered her to her hooves, and Twilight stood cautiously rubbing her badly bruised neck and took a small step towards him.
Immediately, she hissed in pain and she clutched her bloody hoof and sat down on the rooftop, in front of him.
"Holy sweet Celestia! That hurts!", She muttered painfully.
Thorax stared down at her and said "I'll need to get that fixed up when we get across." He informed her, and he had another idea of getting the two of them to the other apartment "This means you can't jump. Very well, we'll do it my way."
"Oh? What way is that?" She asked.
Thorax reached out a gloved hoof for her. She took it, and he pulled her upright to her feet again. He turned suddenly to face away from her.
"Climb onto my back." He told her.
Twilight's eyes widened as she ignored the pain throbbing in her back hoof.
"Why?" She asked with a small blush.
"You're too weak to cross on your own..obviously." He explained to her, still looking at the scaffold. "Yet, you're also light, and I can get us across. Unless, of course you want those things breaking through the door and eat you?"
"And what if it can't support our combined weight?" Twilight asked with a worried look "It wouldn't be much better then those zombies.. It's a long way down!" She protested.
Thorax said nothing for a moment, then turned his head slowly so the red eye pieces stared firmly into her own wide purple eyes.
Twilight then braced herself for another cold insult from him.
"Trust me." Was all he said, and simply turned back away.
Twilight hesitated for a moment, listening as the rooftop door far behind them began to splinter and threaten to break under the horde of creatures.
"He saved me when he could have left me.. I need to trust him." Twilight thought to herself.
"I..I Trust you." She replied slowly and nervously.
Twilight wrapped her hooves around the back of his neck. She hopped on her good hoof slightly and began pulling herself up onto his armoured back.
Thorax then grabbed onto both of her bare hooves and helped her up.
Twilight locked both of her hooves around his waist firmly, and held onto his neck, her chest buried into his back and her head resting against his left shoulder strap.
"This must be pretty heavy, Thorax...are you sure?" She asked quietly behind him. "I don't mean to sound negative, but what if you miss?" She asked again with another worried look.
Thorax said nothing, turned away from the edge of the roof and walked away several meters for a running jump.
Behind them, the door burst open and several zombies fell onto the roof moaning hungrily. Then they began crossing the roof towards the survivors.
Thorax turned back on the heel of his boot and faced the scaffolding again.
"I won't." He replied to her with some confident in his voice.
Thorax burst into movement, running towards the edge of the building at a surprising speed, even under the combined weight of Twilight and his equipment.
His muffled breaths were heavier now and stronger.
Twilight then held onto him even closer as he reached the edge, and he leaped over the side of the building.
Twilight then felt her heart seize in fear, as she and Thorax tumbled off the side of the building, towards the metal railing scaffold.
There was a horribly long moment of free fall as the town around her slowed down and she took in all the details.
She could see Thorax's outstretched hooves before him, his gloved hooves reaching towards the rail that they were rapidly closing in on.
For a split second, she was sure that his hooves would miss the railing they would tumble down into the alley below.
At the very last moment, Thorax's hooves latched roughly onto the iron railing, his front crashed into the side of the scaffold, but he kept his hooves firmly grasping onto it, the entire scaffold shook and sawyed slightly under the weight.
Twilight's head buckled back from the impact and she adjusted her grip on Thorax and closed her eyes slightly.
"Are you sure that you can pull us up?" She asked desperately, opening her eyes slightly. "We probably weigh too much together."
"Of course I can. As I said nothing stops me." Thorax replied with confident in his voice.
Thorax's hooves muscles strained as he began lifting them slowly up the rail with an incredible strength which amazed Twilight.
Thorax brought themselves higher by lifting one boot up and looped it over the railing, next he swung his other leg over and dropped to the scaffold floor, he then turned his head and looked back at the roof they had came from.
The zombies were still staggering towards them, ignoring the gap in between the buildings. The low hungry moans still filled the air. Twilight followed his gaze and watched them from over Thorax's shoulder.
The lead zombies stepped over to the roof' s edge, they attempted to continue on but their hooves only touched the air and they went tumbling helplessly down over the side and into the empty alley seven stories below.
Thorax watched as the rest of the horde fell off the side of the building, crashing face first into the pavement. The zombies below lay squirming and writhing in a pile on the alley.
"Stupid zombies." Thorax commented to himself with a cold amusement. "Now we head up to this roof." He turned them both over to the control panel and examining the multiple coloured buttons.
"Hmm..." Thorax muttered to himself, considering them.
"Try that one." Twilight told him, extending a hoof at a larger red button.
Thorax pressed it firmly with his gloved hoof and the scaffold creaked, shifted and began a slow yet steady ascension to the roof.
Thorax took a deep muffled breath, and Twilight rested her head comfortably on his shoulder again.
The scaffold finally reached the top, nine floors from the pavement of the street. In the middle of the roof there was a section with a closed metal door, leading down into the apartment building.
"We can find an empty apartment to get your wound healed." Thorax informed Twilight.
"Are we going to stay until morning?" She asked hopefully "I'm completely exhausted."
"I know you are." He replied naturally. "And to answer your question. Yes, we're staying here. It isn't safe to move tonight plus I'd have to carry you everywhere if we did."
Thorax then activated his horn and leveled it at the door, he then grasped the door handle cautiously and slowly opened it.
There was a creak in the door frame as Thorax opened it filly and stepped into the dark staircase and he began observing his surroundings with his horn still activated and the place was all clear and he deactivated his horn.
Thorax then descended down the steps carefully, when he reached the bottom of the stairs and walked to the corner leading to the 8th floor hallway, he stopped.
Thorax then peaked his head around the corner carefully, then nodded to himself pulling his head back.
"Trouble?" Twilight asked from behind him quietly.
"No. The whole floor looks empty." Thorax replied calmly.
He then stepped outside one door and looked at it and it was labeled boldy:8H
"Well... this one is as good as anywhere." Thorax muttered to himself quietly.
Then he reached his left hoof and grasped the doorknob, slowly turning it.
Thorax silently pushed the door open, flicked on the light switch beside the door. The lights flickered on and they were fairly dim. He then scanned the room observantly.
It was completely empty. The front room of the apartment appeared bare. There was no carpeting, wallpaper or picture frames and the walls were painted dull white.
"Somepony must have moved out or something." Twilight suggested "And it's just as cold in here as it is outside!"
"Or they didn't get to move in. It makes no difference to me if it's empty or cold. This place will still serve it's purpose." Thorax told her.
"Besides it's not about which apartment is the most comfortable." He finished.
"Fine with me." Twilight replied, shaking her head as Thorax carefully moved them down the hall, towards the living room.
Once they were in Thorax moved over to the wall, just beside one of the windows. Thankfully, it was lined up with the hallway, so he could still watch the door, just in case.
"Alright, princess Sparkle. Get off me." Thorax told her neutrally "I need to fix your hoof."

Hope all of you enjoyed this chapter.
The princess and the death
After Thorax said those words, Twilight reluctantly relinquished her grip around his neck and chest and dropped carefully to the floor on her good left hoof.
Thorax turned around to face her, then put his right hoof around her shoulders to support her to get over to the wall and lay down against it.
"Holy sweet Celestia, it hurts.. what are you going to do?" She asked him nervously, staring into his gas mask.
Thorax said nothing for a moment, his eyes still examining the extended and wounded hoof, there were large red burnt marks on the skin around each wound. Most of the blood was dried, but there was still a little fresh blood dripping from the wounds.
"It's definitely a shrapnel wound." He informed her. "You have second degree burns and the shrapnel has spread pretty well, but they aren't too deep. I need to get the pieces of metal out, lucky for you that they didn't hit an artery or you would be dead by now."
Then Thorax knelt down beside her, his armoured knees scraping against the hardwood floor.
He reached into his belt, flipped opened one of the pockets and removed a large sheathed combat knife. He removed the sheath and held it up slightly.
Twilight's eyes bulged as she stared at the razor sharp weapon, and she had a terrified look. Then she looked back at him again.
"I know, but are you sure you know what your doing?" She asked him worriedly.
"Yes. I have done this before even to myself." He replied quietly "It will hurt a great deal, but it needs to be done."
Twilight's mind flashed suddenly as she remembered something that she took back in the department.
"I found a first aid spray back in the precinct." Twilight told him. "I'm surprised I didn't lose it in the fight with the Nemesis." as she showed him the small sealed bottle.
Thorax nodded in satisfaction when he saw one of his and the changelings technologies, then he grabbed the bottle.
"Excellent. It'll help." He replied, as he removed the cap from the bottle.
He aimed the nozzle at the worst portion of the wound and pressed down a couple of times. Some of the medicinal spray covered the wound and Twilight hissed slightly at the cold liquid's sting.
"Relax." Said Thorax focusing on her wound "That should help with the infection, and I can put the rest on after."
Next, Thorax set down the bottle and gently lay his right hoof onto Twilight's injured left hoof, right below the main wound.
Thorax then glanced at Twilight and saw the fear in her purple eyes.
"There is no need to be frightened princess Sparkle." Thorax said quietly with a gentle smile behind his mask "Your the princess of friendship, the leader of the elements of harmony and you and your friends defeated king Sombra, tirek and many more villains, so your tough and I can handle the pain. "
Twilight released a deep breath she didn't realized she was holding in.
"I know you can.. And I trust you.. just.. please be careful." She replied, looking down at the floor.
"I intend to be." He replied firmly. "I would get some water from the kitchen to help clean this wound, but I won't take the chance that the T-Virus has contaminated the city's reservoir. We'll have to find some bottled water tomorrow for us to drink." He finished.
Thorax then brought his knife closer to the largest wound, directly above her knee.
"Alright...place the knife right next to the shrapnel.."
Slowly, he inserted a couple centimeters of the tip of the knife into the wound. Twilight groaned and clamped her jaws in pain as the knife touched the burned injury.
Thorax continued on, moving it slowly underneath the shard of the shrapnel.
["i]Now..open a small path to remove it carefully."
He expertly traced a small cut around the perimeter of the shard, trickles of fresh, sticky blood dripped onto Thorax's dark gloves, staining them as he worked.
Thorax stopped quickly and glanced up quickly at Twilight.
There were tears of pain forming in her eyes, but she was clearly forcing herself not to make any noise.
Thorax blocked out of the sight, looked back down, surveying his remarkable work and went back to the job.
Once he had got the shard loosened, Thorax removed the combat knife's tip from the bloody flesh and laid it on the ground.
He then activated his horn and a green coloured magic aura surrounded the top of the shard and in a split second, he ripped it out of her skin.
Twilight's eyes bulged open, wide with pain and surprise.
"Ahh! Oh sweet Celestia!" Twilight shouted angrily, panting heavily as she glared into Thorax's mask "Why in Equestria didn't you warn me before you did that?!"
Thorax then shook his head in annoyance from hearing her complain like a three year old.
"Better that it was quick and not drawn out. Relax, the worst is over now. The others will be quicker and less painful." He replied calmly.
Twilight's expression softened quickly, then she took a deep breath and nodded.
"Alright, just.. hurry up please." She replied calming herself down.
Thorax then turned back down to her hoof and examined the three other small wounds. He raised the tip of the knife again and got back to work.
The second one was the easiest, the small shard was already loose in the wound. Thorax pried it out of the skin quickly. He examined the sharp blackened piece of metal covered in blood in his hoof briefly.
"Heh..i didn't really feel that one." Twilight said with a pleasant smile as Thorax tossed the shard over his shoulder. "You must have the hooves of a doctor or something."
"Yeah I studied a lot about medical back in my foalhood." He told her.
"Really?"
"Yeah and after a while I became an expert medic."
"Whoa that's cool, you really must've valued education."
"Of course I did, their really important in your life" Said Thorax as he focused back on the shards in her hoof."Alright two more to go." He told her.
Thorax placed a bit of the knife's tip underneath the shard in the third wound, just below the knee. This wound was worse than the second, but still not too bad.
Thorax wiggled the blade under the shard and slowly popped it out. More fresh blood dripped from the wound.
Twilight fought back the urge to scream as the shard came loose and fell to the ground.
"Last one." Thorax commented neutrally and Twilight nodded quickly from hearing him say that.
Thorax raised the knife again and began examining the fourth wound on the side of her hoof.
Once again, he placed a couple of centimeters of the blade into the wound, spilling a little more blood.
He moved the blade carefully tracing around the wound, spilling a little more blood.
He then moved the blade carefully tracing around the wound. Thorax stopped and pried the final shard out of her leg with his magic.
The bloody piece dropped to the ground and Twilight picked it up.
"That stupid Nemesis, the changelings will pay for this." She muttered bitterly, tossing it across the room.
She then turned back to Thorax, who was now reaching for the bottle of first aid spray.
"Thorax.. I.. thanks." She said awkwardly as Thorax sprayed a bit of the cold, stinging liquid on each wound, the bottle was now only a quarter full and Thorax shook his head.
"Forget about it." He replied curtly. "I have some green herbs here as well, they have good medicinal qualities."
Thorax reached into a pocket on his front chest and pulled out a small green plant.
Twilight smiled and motioned a hoof at his dark armour.
"Herbs? You're carrying a lot.. you probably have everything in those pockets but the kitchen sink." She replied, a hint of teasing in her voice.
Thorax stopped and looked up at her slowly.
"It didn't fit." He replied in an embarrassed voice.
Twilight then burst out laughing at this, her mirth blocking out the pain. The pained tears in her eyes were replaced by tears of amusement.
Thorax then pressed down a huge smile not wanting to laugh.
"It looks like you're going to have a lot of scars, princess Sparkle. Don't worry about it, you'll have stories to tell about them." He replied, glancing at the wounds.
"I think the story about how they got healed will be more special than how I got them." She replied smiling, running a hoof through her smooth purple hair.
A sudden thought ran through her head and her hoof stopped moving, returning to her side and her face flushed furiously.
"Oh my Celestia! I'm flirting with him! Please don't notice... please don't notice."
Thorax simply tore off the herb' s leaves and placed a couple in each wound.
"She's flirting with me." Thorax thought, then his eyebrows raised again confusedly and he blushed "Where did that come from? And stop blushing Thorax! You're not in love with her!"
"Well, that should help take care of any possible infection, along with the spray." Thorax informed her neutrally. "We need to wrap something around your hoof though."
Twilight awkwardly rubbed the back of her neck and gratefully seized the distraction by looking around the room.
"The entire place is bare, Thorax. What could we use?" She asked.
Thorax glanced down at the red jacket she was wearing.
"Your jacket will work just fine." He informed her, pointing at her jacket she was wearing.
Twilight looked down at her jacket then back up to him.
"Alright, but be careful please, Rarity made that jacket for me." She told him"I hope that I can get the stains out."
She reached down and took off her jacket and handed it over to Thorax.
Thorax held the sweater up in both hooves, started looping it around her right hoof.
Twilight hissed again as the knot dug into her skin, then relaxed. A bit of bright blood started to stain through the colorless sweater.
"There." Thorax said, nodding his head at the securely tied sleeves.
Thorax glanced up at her hooves, noticing the light glass cuts littering them and pointed a gloved hoof.
"You have more cuts, I see. I'll take care of them too, give me your hooves." He ordered.
Twilight blushed a little from hearing him say that, but she obeyed him and extended her hooves for him.
Thorax gently gripped her right hoof and raised the first aid spray again, he sprayed a very small amount on each, then he reached over to her left hoof and did the same.
Thorax then reached up a gloved hoof and touched the sore purple bruises covering Twilight's neck carefully. Twilight coughed, clearing her throat.
"These will go away soon enough." Thorax said absentmindedly and Twilight nodded gratefully.
He lowered his hooves again.
"And your back?" Thorax inquired. "I saw cuts all over it, at the other apartment."
Twilight winced slightly as she turned, revealing her bare back and Thorax examined it carefully.
There were several long cuts with dried blood around them. They were traced down various sections of the skin. There were a few smaller one's as well.
"It looks like that raining glass from the first explosion did a number on you, but it's easy to fix."
"Yeah pretty much." Said Twilight.
"Alright, you can turn your back around." He informed her, relinquishing his hoof from her shoulder.
Twilight turned back to face him and she stretched her hooves and wings and sighing slightly.
"I feel a bit better already." She said quietly smiling to him warmly.
Thorax nodded and said "You'll be fine in the morning." As he grabbed his combat knife and sheathed it back into his pocket.
"You should get some rest now princess Sparkle, I can watch the door."
"Okay, and please call me Twilight, I really don't like the title highness." She told him.
"Okay." Said Thorax.
After that Twilight laid herself on the ground on her side and began to sleep but the cold of the apartment overcame her again, running up her hooves and wings.
"It's freezing cold in this place! How can I get any sleep?" Twilight thought while holding onto herself.
Thorax laid down on the floor on his side and glanced sideways at her from behind his mask taking the sight.
Twilight had goosebumps covering her hooves and wings, and they folded over her attractive figure in a poor attempt to keep warm but it didn't seem to help her in the slightest.
Thorax then stared off into space, deep in thought.
"Are you getting soft Thorax?" The cold voice spoke up "You fixed up every wound on her, now you care whether she's cold or not?"
"No, I'm not. I'm doing what I need to." He replied to the cold voice in his head "Besides, I can contact Nighthawk when she's asleep."
Thorax looked back at the shivering young princess beside him.
"Get over her Twilight." He said, motioning to himself with a hoof. "You'll freeze to death in that getup and you're no good to your friends, subjects, princesses, families and me dead."
Twilight then looked at him with smiled, she slid across the gap between them, wrapping her hooves around Thorax's armoured back and chest. She buried her head against the mid section of his warm outfit. She swung one hoof over his.
"His personality is cold... but he's helped me so much. Why would he do it?" Twilight thought. Then she fell asleep.
When Thorax felt her hugging him he immediately felt something.
"What is this love? Friendship?" Thorax thought in his mind he had never felt something like this before. But he immediately snapped out of that thought "Whatever. I just need to contact Nighthawk once she's asleep."
After that Thorax closed his eyes and slept, but he didn't sleep too deep.
Author's Note
There we go! Another chapter in my old story finished! I hope y'all enjoyed it.
This has got to be another one of my longest chapters ever!
The princess and the death
September 30th, 3:36 am, apartment room 8H
Thorax woke up and glanced away from the door, and down at the resting mare wrapped around him. She had been in a deep sleep for several hours now.
Her chest rose and fell slowly, breathing comfortably and Thorax looked back up to the door.
"I'd better contact Nighthawk now.. and let Umbrella and the queen know that I'm fine." Thorax thought to himself.
Very carefully, Thorax slowly reached down, gently grabbed Twilight's hooves and began removing them from around his chest.
Twilight didn't stir or wake, but maintained her quiet and cute breathing.
"I doubt she'll be waking up for awhile." Thorax thought.
Thorax carefully slid away from her, holding her shoulders and laying her down on the floor gently. He stood up, stretched and crossed the living room, away from her. Once he had reached the other side, he activated the comm unit in his helmet.
Unknown to him, Twilight opened her eyes halfway firefly, the cold having to reach her again and waking her up, and she shivered uncomfortably.
"Where did he go?"
She moved her eyes across the room and through a tired haze, she watched him standing and talking.
"Who the heck is he speaking with?" Twilight wondered in tired confusion.
She closed her eyes again, feigning sleep, and listened carefully, making out most of the word.
"This is Agent Thorax, come in. Do you read me Nighthawk?" He asked calmly.
There were a few seconds of noisy static over the comm channel, and a familiar voice suddenly spoke back.
"This is Nighthawk, what is your current status Thorax?" The stallion asked.
Thorax glanced back over to the apparently sleeping mare, then back to the front.
"Inform Umbrella and the queen that I'm alright. I have encountered a survivor as well as a Nemesis type tyrant who is following us. I will get them a full report when this is over." He replied.
"What the!?"
Twilight's eyes bulged open in shock, she was completely awake now. She sat up and slowly activated her horn, careful not to make any noise.
"He... he's with Umbrella? Then that means he's a changeling. Oh sweet Celestia. I should have known who he was.. I'm so stupid." Twilight thought with a bit of fear in her mind.
"Copy that Thorax. A Nemesis? Interesting. And what of the sample buddy?" Nighthawk asked.
Thorax reached into the back of his belt and removed a small white cylinder shaped object, holding it in front of him.
"The sample is still intact with me and will be delivered to Umbrella and the queen. Soon enough. I'm going to need some information on a possible extraction route I have planned out." Thorax informed him.
"Roger, tell me what you had in mind, Thorax." The stallion's voice replied.
"I need information on Manehatten's virus research laboratory past the sewer that I have just escaped from." He informed him
"Ah yes, the mission place, what did you want to know about it Thorax?" Nighthawk asked.
"It seems likely that there would be a train which heads to the everfree forest, near the hive and ponyville." Thorax stated. "If that's the case, are there any trains."
There was a long pause.
"Wait one moment, I'm tapping into our satellite grid and focusing onto the facility." Nighthawk replied.
There were another few moments of silence, and then Nighthawk returned to the comm and replied.
"According to a recent satellite image scan, there is currently a train in basement 3. It seems the staffs at the facility were unable to reach it."
Thorax then smiled to himself satisfied from hearing that.
"In that case, I've found my extraction route. I'll move across the city and get to that last train." Thorax informed him.
"Affirmitive Thorax, pick up the pace, yoh don't have a huge window of time." Nighthawk. "Mission code XX will commence just before midnight on October 1st. Right before the second."
"Okay. Also let Umbrella and the queen know that the G-Virus sample is still in my possession. I should be able to make it across the city and into the sewers with a few hours to spare before mission code XX is launched."
"Will do good luck out there Mr Death."
"I don't need any luck, you know that. The death cannot die, see ya back in the hive buddy." With that Thorax turned off his comm unit.
Before he could turn around, there was the familiar sound of a horn activating and glowing.
Thorax didn't react in the slightest to the noise, he merely remained still.
"Twilight.. damn it. I should have left the apartment before contacting Nighthawk. Stupid mistake."
Thorax then turned around slowly and stared at the young mare.
Twilight Sparkle had struggled to her hooves, and now stood with her brightly glowing horn at Thorax. A look of horror now etched up upon her face.
"You're...you're with the Umbrella corporation Thorax!" Twilight gasped out. "Don't even try to deny it! I heard everything!"
Thorax didn't even tried to activated his horn or reach for the combat knife in one of his pocket, instead he merely stared at her with his hooves at his side, one which held the container.
"So that means your a changeling." Twilight said angrily with hatered in her voice.
Thorax then reached his has mask with his hooves and took it off revealing his dark face, sharp white teeth, dark horn and bright blue eyes.
"Yes." He replied calmly.
The two of them stared at each other for a moment.
"Well this certainly changes things a bit more interesting. I'll give her a little information."
"You... I.." She said slowly and terrified.
"I'm one of their top Agent." He informed her clearly. "I'm with their special force branch, not much more I can say about that though."
"Umbrella is evil and you're working with them!" Twilight shouted.
"Well I am a changeling from the hive. And also I'm a soldier. I complete my missions. Calm yourself Twilight."
"You... you were going to deliver a new virus, a... sample to them?" Twilight asked in horror.
"There's no 'were going to deliver' about it Twilight. I'm still delivering the G-Virus." Thorax repkied coldly.
Twilight then shook her head quickly.
"Oh no you aren't, not anymore. You changelings don't need another horrible bioweapon to unleash on us! Give it to me right now!" Twilight yelled extending her hoof to the G-Virus in his left hoof.
"No." Thorax replied calmly.
Twilight eyes bulged wide.
"What did you say? You.. you give it to me right now!" She demanded threateningly, her horn glowing brighter.
"No." Thorax repeated with that unchanging calmness, putting away the white sample container in the back of his belt.
Thorax started pacing fearlessly and slowly away from the side of the room he stood, and towards the spot Twilight was currently standing, completely ignoring her brightly glowing horn.
"Do you think that this is the first time I've ever had a glowing horn shoved in my face Twilight?" Thorax asked "Do you honestly think that it worries me even in the slightest?"
"Is he crazy?" Twilight screamed to herself in her mind confusedly "I'm about to fire one of my most powerful magic at him."
"Stop! Don't come near me!"Twilight warned him "I'll shoot you if you take one more step!"
Thorax calmly came to a stop directly in the centre of the living room.
"I'm not giving you the virus sample Twilight, it's going to be delivered to my queen." He told her in a cold tone.
"I...I'll shoot you if you don't!" Twilight told him, her horn glowing brighter.
Thorax then stood still calmly in front of her.
"Will you? Then go ahead Twilight. Fire one of your most powerful magic." Thorax demanded pointing at his face with his blood stained left hoof "Shoot me right here, murder the stallion who has saved your life."
Tears started to form in Twilight's eyes, when Thorax noticed them, he continued on, pressuring it again.
"Well? You ponies are against us changelings and Umbrella aren't you? I am a changeling, and I'm working for Umbrella, that makes me the evil villain, right?" Thorax asked quietly.
"You...you changelings...did... so many horrible things to us. All of you created bioweapons to kill us, and all of you even killed many of us, why?" Twilight asked sobbing.
"Because it's my job to do so." Thorax replied evenly "And I didn't even made those things you and your friends encountered. I'm an Agent and a medic, I'm not a virus researcher." He finished.
"You helped them do it!" Twilight shouted back. "Where did you get the new virus? What was your mission?"
"I guess I can tell you." He said with a small smile "My mission has changed drastically for me now anyways, there's no harm in giving a little information. Me and my team were sent to recover it from doctor Chaos."
"Chaos? I've never heard of him. He is a scientist that researches on your viruses, I assume?" Twilight asked looking confused.
"Yes, your correct." He told her "He was given an order from his boss to get rid of the virus and he immediately did that order. Our queen didn't like that when she heard about that. So me and my team were sent to recover it and bring it back to Umbrella."
"Your... your team?" Twilight asked hesitantly.
"Yes." Said Thorax as he nodded "I'm the leader and the only survivor. We infiltrated the sewers of Manehatten City and proceeded on to his lab. An over eager young agent who was with me when I found him shot him in the hoof with his bow gun nearly damaging the samples. We took the T and G Virus samples in his lab, and left the doctor. But unknown to us, Choas still had a virus sample on him and he injected himself with it."
Twilight look disgusted, horrified "He injected with that virus?" She asked.
"Yes. And he came back to life as a twisted monster " Thorax told her casually "It hunted down the rest of my team, killing them and destroying the samples. I had one sample on me, and I spent eight days in that sewers fighting with the T-Virus creatures and evading Chaos. Our magic and weapons were ineffective on him. It would take a lot to kill him, maybe like a dynamite arrow we created, or other things that explodes if the Virus in him mutates any further."
"Destroyed the samples? You're responsible for the city's virus spread?" Twilight asked accusingly.
Thorax shook his head from hearing that.
"No." He replied "Yes it may have caused some spread, but the city infection was brought in by the rats from around Canterlot or ponyville, as I'm sure you're already considered."
"You used the sewers to get to the police station?" Twilight asked.
"Yes, I fought my way through the basement and made it through the precinct and to the roof. Unfortunetly, my extraction plan was scrambled at the last minute by a pony I know in ponyville." Thorax chuckled embrassingly "However, we now have an alternate extraction. There is a train at the Umbrella facility where I had my mission in, it leads to the everfree forest near ponyville and the hive. We may utilize it to escape the city."
Twilight then remembered the strange codename Thorax used earlier.
"What is... mission code xx" Twilight asked "I remember you mentioning it yo that stallion on the radio back in the precinct, and again to this 'Nighthawk', on your comm.. something about three days?"
Thorax then stared at her and sighed deeply.
"Just before October 2nd, 50 dynamite arrows will strike the centre of Manehatten city, eradicating all yraces of the T-Virus and keeping it from spreading any further." Thorax replied.
Twilight's mouth and eyes opened wide in horror.
"But what about any survivors?" She asked "They need to get out of the city before the explosion!"
Thorax shrugged.
"Expendible losses Twilight. They have a bit of time to get out anyways. If they can't, it's their problem. Most of the city's dead anyways." Thorax replied coldly. "One hundred dead is acceptable."
"That's completely horrible! The ponies might be waiting for rescue Thorax!" Twilight shouted angrily "It's barbaric! We should be trying to save everyponies life, not sacrificing them!"
Thorax then studied her indignant expression, examining the emotions her face held and chose his words.
"It's us, or them Twilight. I do whatever it takes to complete my objectives. I make no apologies, well sometimes, but not most of the time."
Twilight tried to reply back, but was interrupted when Thorax held up his left hoof.
"That's all I'm gonna say Twilight. Now, what happens next is for you to decide. Look inside yourself. Do you truly wish to shoot me? If so, go ahead, I won't stop you."
Twilight began to shake as she stared into his bright blue eyes, but remained aiming her brightly glowing horn at him.
"You-"
"I could have killed you when I saw you barricading that door back in that department." Thorax replied calmly, taking more steps towards her closing in. "I could have left you to suffocate in that burning building, or get killed by that Nemesis."
"I...but-"
Thorax was now standing directly in front of her, staring fearlessly at her.
"I know exactly what they did to you, your friends, your brother, your sister in law Cadence, and your niece Flurry Twilight. However, I'm not one of you or your subject, so it's not my problem to deal with. I'm with the special forces in the hive, In Umbrella actually. It's really as simple as that."
Twilight couldn't find any words, she struggled to say something, but she couldn't.
"He... He saved me.. I.."
"Are you going to shoot me? Do you really have it in yourself to be the enemies you hate so much?" Thorax asked again.
He stood calmly and waited for Twilight's decision on whether to kill him or not.
Twilight then made up her decision and shook her head slowly.
"No...no I won't kill you.. you're a soldier doing your job, not the leader of the corporation or the queen... I'm not a murderer like they are." Said Twilight as she deactivated her horn.
"No, of course your not." Thorax agreed nodding "You have more integrity than my employers and team."
Thorax then wiped away a single tear on her right cheek and nuzzled her which made her blush.
"Just.. try to understand who your queen is. Consider that" She pleaded "They put their virus' s and bio research before pony lives."
"I fully know who my queen is." He told her "Now come on, let's go back to sleep."
"I doubt I'll be getting any sleep." She said as she lied down on the floor next to Thorax, and he also lied down next to and facing her
"Don't worry I won't fire my magic in your head."
"Okay." Twilight sighed as she hugged his body armour and drifted back to sleep.
After Thorax had established that conversation he went to sleep as well.
Author's Note
Just two or three more chapters and the story will be completed.
I hope all of you enjoyed this chapter.
The princess and the death
September 30th, 9:37am, apartment room 8H
Faint bits of light began to pour through the cracked windows and into the back of Thorax's head.
When Thorax felt the heat on his back, he immediately woke up.
"Morning...we'd better get going now. No time like the present." Thorax thought to himself.
But when he opened his eyes fully, he noticed that his face was close to Twilight's and their lips were really close to each other.
That made Thorax blush, and get up from the ground.
"Why am I blushing?!" Thorax mumbled angrily.
Then he heard Twilight quivering and mumbling some words, and she was sweating from her forehead.
Thorax assume that she is having a nightmare now, so he leaned down and poked her soft cheek, but she didn't respond.
Twilight's nightmare
Twilight was standing in the middle of a dark street, watching as a large black coated figure in the distance trudged slowly up the broken pavement road towards her. A crowd of horrible moaning zombies limped slowly behind it. The surrounding colours of the buildings were muddy and hazy to her eyes, completely unrecognizable. A fog seemed to hang over the approaching figures.
"Where in Equestria am I?"
She began to move, but she found that her hooves wouldn't respond. She tried again but she still couldn't run.
"Why can't I run?" Her mind screamed fearfully.
Twilight then felt herself panicking when she saw the Nemesis and the zombies coming to full view, but she saw a black stallion, with bright blue eyes, a dark horn and was wearing body armour, and the stallion was Thorax.
"Thorax!" She screamed, as the Nemesis extended it's tentacle at her, and once the tentacle got close to her, Twilight tried to run but it was no use, the Nemesis wrapped it's tentacle around her body.
Thorax looked at Twilight with an emotionless look and talked to her.
"There are a few friends here who wants to speak to you Twilight, they're not happy to say the least."
Then a pair of solid figures materialized out of thin air suddenly on either side of him.
Twilight gasped out as she recognized the two ponies. They were the stallion royal guards she had worked together with, and they were glaring at her.
"Smoke? Rocky?" She asked disbelievingly.
Smokey was the first to speak, he raised a single mangled hoof at her "Why didn't you save me Twilight?" His voice asked hauntingly. "If you just fired your magic instead of standing there like a sniveling little coward you are! You could have saved me!" He yelled.
"Smoke..." Said Twilight as she fell on the ground. His words struck her heart like arrows. "I'm... I'm so... sorry Smoke... I-I
tried... I was just-"
"And me, Twilight!" Rocky interrupted. His voice was much more scarier than Smoke's.
Twilight turned around slowly and looked at him with a scared face. He was bleeding from his head and mouth, then he pointed his mangled right hoof at her.
"You didn't even fired your magic when that thing grabbed me! You just stood there with your mouth wide opened! And let it kill me!"
"Rocky!" She pleaded, and guilt was pouring through her head.
"You never even tried! You killed us both! You killed us both! You killed us both!" They said repeatedly, and Twilight was on the floor crying in shame.
"No! No! Please... I'm sorry... I-I tried..."
"What's wrong Twilight? You don't have what it takes to survive? I thought you were smart and strong. But you are just a scared little baby. You are far too emotional to live."
"Thorax...please don't."
The Nemesis let out a loud roar and stabbed it tentacle through her head killing her.
End of nightmare
Twilight finally woke up from her nightmare, and she had a small get a rolling down her cheek from the past event that happened when she was with the two royal guards.
"Smoke... Rocky... I'm so sorry... please forgive me..." She thought sadly.
She then stood up slowly and looked in front of her, and she saw Thorax staring down at her with his gas mask in his right hoof.
"Oh...u-um... hi." She said slowly.
"Good morning Twilight. You were quivering since I woke up. I decided not to wake you up. Nightmares I presume?" Thorax asked neutrally.
Twilight then looked down on the floor sadly.
"Yeah... a really bad one... I don't want to talk about it."
He shrugged his shoulders dispassionately and stared off into the distance.
"I wasn't going to ask. What you choose to do with your lai. or what haunts your dreams, is your business." He replied mysteriously.
Before Twilight could reply to this, Thorax continued onwards as if nothing had been said.
"Anyways, we named to get out of here now, it's morning now." Thorax informed her "The sewer to the virus research facility isn't that far. And if we remain here much longer the Nemesis will surely find us. But i think it's still knocked out from the explosion."
"Agreed. I don't want that thing finding us either. We need to get some fresh water on our way. I hadn't had any in more then a day." She replied.
"There are plenty of restaurants near here. We can find some water in one of them." Thorax replied.
"I guess so. Let's go." As she stood up, her hoof was feeling better.
Then Thorax put on his gas mask and placed his dark metal helmet on his head.
"Right behind you Twilight."
"You know what? I think that gas mask looks cool. You changelings do know how to make such technologies."
"Yeah pretty much."
Then Twilight lead themselves to one of the restaurants.
Author's Note
Another chapter completed! Sorry if it was a bit too short. Didn't have that much plans for it, but the next chapter will be fun to read.
The princess and the death
Restaurant fun and into the sewers
September 30th, 11:30am, Manehatten City streets
The raincloud had burst and water now came down in thick sheets all over the entire dark city, drenching it. Small streams poured off the pavement sidewalk and into the gutters of the street in front of the restaurant, flowing into the metal hearing of various storm drains.
Twilight had to cover her head with her hooves to avoid the rain, and Thorax wasn't showing any emotions from the rain as the drops fell on his head.
Then they reached a restaurant which had, umbrella stands, chairs and some more stuffs inside.
"I think it's clear inside the place." Twilight said as she looked at Thorax.
"Okay, that's great. And today must be our lucky day as well, because there are no zombies near us." He chuckled.
Twilight giggled and said "Yeah, I know, now come on let's go in."
Thorax and Twilight walked up the small stairs in the restaurant and they reached the door.
Thorax looked in the window one more time to see if the place was clear, and there were no zombies.
Then he gripped on the door's handle and pushed it open. And he and Twilight stepped inside of the restaurant.
There was a large counter with drinks behind them, some stools, a large couch with cushions and a back door which probably leads to the supplyroom.
"This place looks clear." Said Twilight.
"Yes, I think so too. But I'm not sure about that door though."
Then Twilight looked at the door.
"Yeah, me too."
Then Thorax placed his mask and helmet on the counter and looked at Twilight.
"Alright Twilight, I'm gonna give you a test. Can you go down there and check the place to ensure that there is no danger?"
Twilight looked at the door for a couple of seconds, then back to Thorax.
"Alright, I'm on it."
"Good, and while you do that. I'm gonna get the water bottles."
Twilight nodded and went to the back door. She gripped onto the handle and pushed it open, and stepped walked down stairs to the supplyroom.
While Twilight was doing that. Thorax went behind the counter and checked the cupboards and he saw some drinks behind them, but they were being secured by a lock.
"A lock never stands in my way."
Thorax gripped onto the metal lock and began crushing it.
*Clinck!"
Thorax managed to break the metal lock with his strength, then he opened the cupboard and many drinks were stored in there.
"Okay, Let's see what we have."
When he looked at the drinks, he saw four water bottles, he took them and placed them on the counter. He also saw two orange juices and one apple juice.
"I don't think juices will help us."
When he looked to his left he saw a giant bottle with a cork on the top.
"Alcohol... of course." Thorax chuckled to himself and rolled his eyes. "I remember the time when me and Nighthawk had a drink." Then his eyes widened when he remembered what happend last time in the break room in Umbrella's cafeteria.
Umbrella facility cafeteria, 10:00pm, August 21st
Thorax and Nighthawk were having a drink, in the cafeteria celebrating another successful mission they had back in Canterlot.
Thorax hasn't even drank his beer yet. He was talking to Nighthawk and he was really drunk.
"Hahaha! Remember the time when you kicked Celestia's butt?" Nighthawk asked in a really drunk voice.
"Yeah, I do. And it was a real stroll in the park." He chuckled.
"Hahahaha! I know." Said Nighthawk as he stood up and walked to Thorax, with his hooves on the table to keep his balance.
"Nighthawk? Are you okay? You look drunk." Thorax asked him.
Nighthawk didn't respond to his question, he walked up to him with his hooves on his shoulder.
"What are you-"
"You look pretty..."Said Nighthawk as he leaned his head closer to kiss him.
"Ahh! Get off me!" Said Thorax pushing him to the ground and he got knocked out.
End of flashback
Thorax shook his head uncomfortably from remembering that.
"Ugh. That did not go too well." Thorax said to himself.
He turned back to the counter and grabbed one water bottle for himself.
He opened the cap and drank it, after that he became refreshed.
"That's better. Now time to wait for Twilight." Said Thorax as he sat on a stool.
Twilight's location
After Twilight walked down the stairs to the supplyroom, there was another door.
"Okay. You can do this Twilight." Twilight said to herself.
She took a deep breath and charged in, and she began observing her surroundings, and she saw that the place was wrecked up. There were cracked bottles, claw marks on the wall and blood on the floor.
"What happened here?" Twilight thought to herself, then she looked around the room again and saw that there was nothing else.
"I guess there's nothing else here. I better get back to Thorax." Twilight said to herself as she walked back up the stairs.
Thorax heard some hoof steps coming towards him, which he assumed was Twilight's hoof steps, after 3 seconds he saw Twilight standing in front of him.
"Hello Twilight, found anything?" Thorax asked her.
"Eh... not much, just some blood, wrecked bottles and claw marks, but there was nothing else in there."
Thorax smiled in satisfaction, then he grabbed a water bottle on the counter.
"Here you go Twilight." Said Thorax as he threw the bottle towards her, and she caught it.
"Thank you." Said Twilight as she opened the cap of the bottle and drank heavily.
After 6 seconds, she was finished drinking the bottle and she sighed gratefully.
"There, I feel much better." She told him.
"Good. Perhaps I won't need to carry you the whole way after all." Thorax replied to her.
She then looked at him and smiled.
"I'm surprised you didn't just fall on your butt when you were carrying me back there, Thorax" She shot back.
Thorax said nothing, bemused.
"Give her a few seconds." Thorax thought smiling to himself.
Twilight considered what she had said and her purple eyes flashed.
"And no, I don't mean that I weigh a lot." Twilight quickly, amended, hiding her embarrassment by looking on the floor.
Then Thorax turned to his left and saw three cushions on the large sofa, then he looked back at her.
"Maybe this will get her in a good mood." Thorax thought to himself smiling, then he quietly activated his horn and floated the cushions toward him.
"Hey. Twilight maybe this will cheer you up."
"What?" Twilight asked looking at him, and he saw that there were two cushions floating beside his head.
"Cushion fight!" Yelled Thorax as he smacked Twilight with the cushions.
"Ahh!" Twilight yelled while laughing.
Twilight was running in circles in the restaurant while Thorax was chasing her around. Then Thorax turned back and cut her off. He tackled into her and made themselves fall on the couch.
Thorax was sitting on Twilight's chest while hitting her with the cushions, then Twilight saw another cushion on her right and she grabbed it and intercepted Thorax's attacks.
"Take this!" Said Twilight hitting him in the face with the cushion.
Then Thorax threw the cushions away and pinned her hooves on the couch, which made Twilight let go of the cushion she was holding, then she began panting for breath.
"Haha! I'm victorious!"
"I'll get you back one day." Twilight mumbled.
Then she realized that Thorax was sitting on her chest which made her uncomfortable.
"Um... Thorax?"
"Yes?" He asked looking down at her.
"Can you please get off my chest? It's... making me uncomfortable." She said blushing.
Then Thorax looked down and saw that he was sitting on her while pinning her hooves. Then Thorax blushed and immediately got off her.
"Ahh! I-I'm so sorry Twilight!" He said blushing in embarrassment.
"What is wrong with me?!" Thorax yelled to himself in his mind.
Twilight giggled and got off the couch, and stood up in front of him.
"It's alright Thorax. I needed that to get out of my mood."
Thorax smiled and sighed in relief when he heard that.
"Okay. The sewers is not too far from here. And once we are in the sewers, I can lead us to the virus research facility"
"Okay. Lead the way Thorax."
Thorax nodded and walked out of the restaurant with Twilight.
Thorax and Twilight were walking down the street, and there were no zombies near them, which was a good sign, then they reached a sewer cap.
"Ah. Here it is." Said Thorax as he removed the sewer cap, which revealed a ladder that goes into the sewers.
"Let's go." Said Thorax.
"Okay." Said Twilight.
Then Thorax climbed sown the sewers first, and Twilight followed him down.
To be continued
Author's Note
Here we have it guys, my first story has ended. I hope all of you enjoyed it. And don't worry there will be a sequel to this one really quick.
The princess and the death
September 29th front of Manehatten police department
The inpony moaning rang throughout the streets. The shuffle of hooves approaching slowly followed , broken and burnt buildings littered the main street and the ponies were either killed by the zombies or the bioweapons made by the Umbrella changeling scientists .
Twilight Sparkle leveled her horn at a zombies head and she fired , the shot echoed through the street.
A pair of zombies in police uniforms dropped to the ground in front of her. A third mare zombie's decaying head snapped backwards by the magics force and it tumbled .
Twilight heard a snarl and turned to her right .
A giant figure standing on four hooves stood in front of a building in the distance clutching a Royal guard named Rocky. It pointed it's tentacled hoof at her and hissed furiously.
"PRINCESSSSSS !!!"
It dropped Rocky's body casually and began pacing towards the station.
"There's too many of them I can't stay out here. If that Nemesis doesn't kill me the zombie's will"Twilight said to herself .
A zombie shuffled slowly and attempted to grab her and pull her in from behind. She quickly moved out of the way and shot it in the head with her magic making it fall on the ground dead.
She turned back behind her to the heavy doors of the Manehatten police department. Twilight ran away from the crowd of zombies past the opposing lamps in front of the station , she gripped on the door's metal handles.
"Please don't be locked. Please don't be locked"
Miraculously the door was unlocked.
She swung it open and rushed inside. A split second there were no zombies inside the main department hall, apart from quite a few bodies lying on the floor .
As she turned back and slammed the door shut behind her , a rotting arm poked through as the door slammed shut, pinning it's hoof. Twilight pushed her body against the door trying to keep it shut. The things hoof still attempted to grab her. The loud moaning traveled through the crack in the doorway, and it rang through out the empty police department.
“I need to get this door locked or they'll push their way in” Twilight thought to herself as she slammed herself at the door again .
Twilight then stepped back from the door for a few seconds, drew her hoof back and smashed it into the zombies hoof. The zombie's hoof broke from the force and it fell on the ground in the police department.
Next she threw the door open rapidly revealing the crowd of zombies in front of the station. The zombie in the doorway, formerly a young stallion stood upright moaning and attempted to grab Twilight's neck.
Twilight knocked the crippled hoof aside , drew back her hoof again and brought it full strength into the zombie's face.
It stumbled backwards knocking several other zombies down to the ground with it.
Twilight didn't gave them the chance to try again. She quickly slammed the heavy door shut , clicked the doors locks shut and turned to the large desk near the door.
"This door needs all the reinforcement it can get"Twilight said to herself as she stepped towards the heavy desk and grabbed it by the front.
Next she dragged it over to the door and slid it against it , the moaning no longer echoed through the station but she could still hear them muffled outside along with the furious pounding of hooves on the door.
Twilight wiped some sweat off her forehead"There... there.. now I have some time to figure this out Twilight you have fought and defeated many bioweapons and changeling agents with your friends even though some of them did manage to get us in the hospital but still you can handle this I just need to relax and think about how to get out of here without your friends"
She turned back to where she found the desk and sat down at the desk's chair. She straightened out her hair and crossed her hooves.
“How am I going to get out of here ? That Nemesis is stalking me everywhere I go even those hordes outside”
She fully scanned the main hall of the department again. There were a pair of dead lickers made by the changeling scientist's , their long tongues hanging out, a large group of dead blood covered zombies and many magic shots all over the two lickers , zombie's and walls , each zombie had a single shot on their foreheads .
"Somepony must have already passed through here not too long ago those shots look fresh. It doesn't look like there's anypony left in the station"Twilight said to herself.
She stood up quickly and ran towards the centre of the hall to the main desk. A medical spray made by the changelings sat on the counter , she smiled and grabbed it placing it in her pocket"How did Shining even managed to steal these stuffs ? I thought that the changeling agents were tough and skilled."
Then Twilight sat on the chair again and closed her eye's attempting to block out the haunting image of Rocky's horribly twisted body.
"I'm so sorry Rocky you didn't deserve to die"Twilight said to herself sadly.
She then forced the image out of her head and calmed herself.
"I can't get any help from my friends or my brother I guess I'll just have to get out of this building by myself. Those zombie's could break through any minute especially if the Nemesis decides to come in here"Twilight said to herself as she stood up"Let's see I need to get to the roof of the police department climb to an adjacent building and find a way out of the city just this simple"
As Twilight began formulating her plan there was a creaking of the balcony floor above followed by the loud thud of hoof landing on the ground behind her and a sound of magic activated.
Twilight quickly turned around and activated and aimed her horn at the tall figure now standing behind her.
She looked at the figure fully taking the appearance"Who are you ?"Twilight demanded .
Author's Note
This is my first fanfiction ever so please enjoy .
Also I do not own the character or Resident Evil .
My Little Pony belongs to Hasbro and Resident Evil belongs to Capcom.
The princess and the death
Twilight examined the pony standing before her with a horn leveled at her chest, she assumed the pony to be a stallion considering his suit and boots.
The stranger wore solid-colour grey fatigues, a full body suit from the looks of it. The figure wore a protective vest over it's midsection, twin tan coloured shoulder straps hung on the shoulders, and down to the numerous buckles, holsters and carrier's on the vests mid section.
A large knife sat in one of the holsters and there were two pocket knives in his carrier's, the figure was masculine by all appearances .
“He seems pretty muscular”Twilight thought to herself, looking at his covered hooves briefly.
Dark metal pads were strapped to the stallion's knee's he wore a pair of dark grey boots and a pair of dark gloves.
Her eye's traveled back up to the gas mask hiding the stallion's face from view. There were three breathing nozzles on the mask, a large one at the front mouth piece and two smaller one's on either sides, the eye pieces were tinted red so she couldn't see the ponies eye's behind them but they were undoubtedly watching her carefully, he also wore a dark grey helmet on top of his head.
"I asked you a question who are you ?"She demanded again.
The stallion tilted his head to the side slightly.
"I heard you the first time miss"He replied in a calm voice it was slightly muffled through the gas mask but Twilight heard him clearly"You tell me first"
Twilight paused for a moment her horn still aimed at him"My name is Twilight Sparkle I'm the princess of friendship and the leader of the elements of harmony"She replied.
Thorax smiled to himself slightly and said"Twilight Sparkle I see I've heard about you briefly from my employers you and your friends survived and defeated many villain's and bioweapons before and all of you survived this long which is impressive because survival against the odds is a skill I respect"
Twilight's eye's narrowed
"How in Equestria do you know about that ? Who are your employers ?"She demanded.
"That's classified princess Sparkle you may refer to me agent Thorax that's all you really need to know about me"He replied coldly.
"Thorax ? You don't seem much of a looker.. that's probably because why you're wearing that mask"said Twilight in an amused tone.
Thorax ignored this sarcastic remark and continued"I have a mission and you're in my way I highly recommend you lowering your horn and leaving"He informed her.
Twilight turned back to the main door across the hall being pounded on by the zombie's outside. Then she turned back to him.
“He's heavily armed..And he looks tough. I need all the help I can get.. even if he's a bit of a jerk like Rainbow Dash sometimes”Twilight thought to herself bitterly“But who is he ? An agent sent by Celestia ? My brother ?”
Twilight cleared her throat and said"Look... Thorax whatever your mission is we're both stuck in this infected city, we're in the same situation. As much as I don't trust you, I need your help... You have some sharp weapons on you and experience from the looks of it but you'll need my help too. I know my way fully around this city because I've been here a lot of times with my friends and family"
Thorax considered this briefly“Twilight could get in the way... but she's also skilled in magic and many other subject's like I was back in my foalhood. She may prove to be useful, also if I bring her along I'll still be able to keep an eye on her... if she ends up interfering with my mission I can simply kill her”
Thorax inclined his head and lowered and deactivated his horn"Alright I'll work with you"He replied simply.
Twilight lowered and deactivated her horn too and said"Alright we need some more supplies and then we should get to the roof and find a way out of here"She suggested.
"That's what I came down here for I was going to go to the station's armory. Since you've been here with your friend's you can lead us there"Thorax replied.
"Yes I can and after we escape the station we can even look for survivors and-"Twilight was cut off when Thorax raised his right gloved hoof.
"We'll just get out here we won't save any survivors"
Twilight's eye's widened"what why ? What do you mean ? If somepony else is out there alive we should save them !"Twilight insisted.
Thorax shook his head and said"No my mission has already been impeded. I will not compromise it further by going out of my way and saving helping anypony. The journey across this nightmarish city will be slow enough as it is. The only reason why I'm working with you is because you can keep up I wait for nopony. The mission must always come first. And we only have three days to get out of this city"
"What do you mean three days ? What's going to happen then ?"asked Twilight.
"If your strong enough to survive you'll find out once you've left the city if not you'll find out the unpleasant way"He replied simply.
Twilight glared at his mask and said"You don't call any shots with me Thorax. I don't even know who you are or what you do.. and you're not giving me any reason to trust you. I want to get out of here alive though, even if that means having to work with a jerk like you"
“Hmm strong mare but clearly emotional I can play with that easily”Thorax thought amused.
Thorax motioned to the shaking door across the hall"If you don't like my methods you're free to go back outside"he replied"I'm sure you'll find those things out there are less fair then I'm being"
Twilight continued to stare angrily at him after a few moments she forced herself to relax a bit“Who the heck does he think he is ?”
"Okay.. we'll do it your way.. Thorax"She replied bitterly.
“I'll need to keep an eye on this guy I may end up preferring the Nemesis out there to him”Twilight thought to herself.
"Excellent. Now that we've established that, lead the way"Thorax replied calmly.
Twilight nodded, walked past the desk and motioned to a metal door on their immediate right.
"The armory is this way tough guy I doubt there will be much weaponry though"She told him.
"Right behind you princess Sparkle"Thorax smirked, walking after her.

Another chapter done and I'll get the next one up as soon as possible.
Also that was one rough introduction they had there.

The princess and the death
Twilight leads the way and talking about his past
Thorax and Twilight finally reached the apartments lobby of the buildings ground floor.
Then they exited the building and began to walk.
When they were walking Twilight noticed that the clouds were grey.
"It looks like it is going to rain soon." She told Thorax.
"Yes it looks like it will, but we'll be in the sewer soon, and I think that Nemesis can't get in there."
Twilight smiled and said "That's great news."
They went into an alleyway to get to a restaurant, but when they turned to a corner they saw two zombies standing near the alleyway exit.
Twilight activated her horn and tried to shoot them, but Thorax placed his left gloved hoof on her horn and lowered it gently.
Twilight then deactivated her horn and raised her eyebrow in confusion.
"What's wrong?" She asked him.
"You shouldn't shoot. Firing will attract the others. The best way to do it is by combat." He told her.
Twilight then looked at the two moaning zombies with a disgusted look, but she stuffed it down and gave him a confident look.
"Alright, let's do this."
Thorax and Twilight slowly approached the zombies. And when Twilight got close to the one in front of her she bashed it into the wall making it fall on the floor, then she closed her eyes and stomped on it's head, and bits of blood splattered on her face and hair.
Twilight rubbed the blood off her hair and face.
"Ugh. Ew. I can't wait to take a bath after this."
Then Twilight looked at Thorax, and she saw the zombie trying to grab him by his mask but he blocked the attack by pushing the zombie with his right hoof. The zombie moaned angrily at him and tried to grab him again, when Thorax saw the second attempt from the zombie, he grabbed it's head and slammed him on the floor, blood was pouring from the zombies head.
Then Thorax looked at Twilight, and he noticed that she has already killed the zombie that was in front of her.
"Not bad." Said Thorax.
"Thanks. Your not bad as well. How did you get this skilled?" She asked him curiously.
Then Thorax took off his mask, so that he could talk better. And Twilight saw his dark face, dark horn and bright blue eyes again.
"Well, back in my foalhood. I had a friend named Nighthawk. You probably heard of him in the comm unit." He told her.
Twilight nodded and said "Yeah, I did."
"Let me tell you. I was in my room studying about medical and your cultures, and that's when he showed up."
"Okay. What did he do?"
"He... kind of barged into my room and closed my book. And I got mad at him from doing that, and I said 'What was that for?' Then he said that if I keep studying I can't become a great Agent, because he said I don't know how to fight."
"So, he forced you to study some martial arts?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, so reluctantly I had to say yes, cause if I don't, he will call me a coward. So I went to the training head quarters in the training facility in Umbrella, and chose three martial arts."
”Really? And what are those martial arts?"
"I chose, systema, krav maga and karate. I'm more of a defensive type."
"Whoa okay. So that's how you became one of their top Agents." She assumed.
"That's correct. Now come on. Let's head to the restaurant."
"Okay, follow me." Said Twilight leading her and Thorax to a restuarant.
