ENN Special: Twilight's Address to the Nation, National Security, Part 3 (S3 E21)

Good evening Equestria, this is Hard News. Our normal programming tonight will be pre-empted by a speech from Goddess-Queen Twilight Sparkle. She has demanded that we allow her to speak so she can issue a response to her sister's rather unorthodox speech a couple nights ago, a speech that she has deemed as tribalist and as an illegal power grab. While we at ENN think her plans are good and see nothing wrong with them, the other Goddess-Queen feels otherwise....and it is time, Goddess-Queen Twilight is about to speak.

Good evening Equestria. As you all know, two nights ago my sister addressed the nation and let it be known what her future plans are for Equestria. I was watching and I will say that I am not impressed at all. My sister's true colors finally shone through and I don't know about you but I believe that she is racist and has a desire to turn Equestria into a land that doesn't share the values of Equestria. I believe that she is wanting to turn Equestria into a land that is ran according to HER values, values that are far from what our great country stands for.

Her idea for a standing military is ridiculous. Never before has Equestria required a military. Yes we have faced foes that sought our destruction but in the end, we always won. We won with the Elements and we won without the Elements. Friendship is our true weapon against our foes, not Unicorns that will be trained to use her methods. I know how her mind works and it seems as though she is seeking to blow our enemies apart with magic rather than banish them or in the case of some of them, HER INCLUDED, reform and befriend them.

Her idea about earth pony recruits having to work on military farms, likely for low pay, is beyond horrible in my opinion. That right there shows her views that Unicorns are superior. I never once imagined that she was like that but I suppose even those who you think you know so well will always surprise you, and often in unpleasant ways. Her ideas that pegasi should be mere scouts are racist as well. Every race has their place in protecting this country and just because they don't have magic doesn't make them any less worthy of fighting up on the front lines.

Also, not all Unicorns are as powerful as her and I were back in the day and not all of them are going to be able to simply be taught to be powerful Unicorns, Unicorns with our level of power are born with that ability, it can't be taught. Not all of them will be like you, Starswirl and myself. Also, not all of them will embrace combat magic or be that good at it. Also, only a few Unicorns have ever been able to even self-levitate, much less fly with just their magic and even the ones that can, they are not as fast as pegasi.

Another thing troubles me, you proclaiming yourself as the sole ruler of Equestria is not how things work. You and I were meant to rule together, despite you being a backstabber and a power hungry tyrant. For all of you in Equestria, just so you know your precious Starlight at one time enslaved an entire village by stealing their cutie marks and at one time engaged in a battle with me where she nearly destroyed the country multiple times by using time travel to prevent me from ever meeting my friends. Is that the kind of pony that you think should be running the show by herself. For all you know, she may decide to steal your cutie marks and enslave you if you anger her!

Also, the whole idea of deeming currency with my image on it is something she is simply doing out of spite. Ever since we had our falling out, she has been slowly but surely seizing all power for herself and the other night, she completed that BUT that will not last for long. Just wait Starlight, I'm changing my priorities and I'm coming back to Canterlot. I will see to it that this crap of yours stop and if it requires another magic battle, I'm game. I will fight you for an Equestria that embraces friendship, not a xenophobic dictatorship where you are calling the shots. To be honest, I could see you trying to reestablish the ancient land of Unicornia and cause the other tribes and other creatures to flee.

I'm coming Starlight and if you don't cave into my demands, Canterlot will see another magic battle that may kill some citizens and I'm certain you don't want that. I almost wonder if you not having anypony who will put out is causing you to lose your mind and that is why this is going on. If you cave into my demands I might even think about us reestablishing the close sisterly relationship we once had. I'll even disband my harem if that is what it takes to get you to see the light and not turn Equestria into a dictatorship. Take this all into account, you don't want to piss off your precious Unicorns up there in the capitol and the last thing you need is to piss everycreature else off. They may not have magic to fight you but if the rest of the nation turns on you, you could be forced out.

Equestria, do not worry. I will not allow her to mold this nation into a land that represents her values. Oh and just so you know, I was being sarcastic with her when I brought up making everypony change seasons the old fashioned way but I do think that pegasi who used to control the weather should still be paid some sort of pension. I'm sorry for putting so many of you out of work and after we are both equals again, you'll get those. Good night Equestria, your land will soon be restored.

Well that certainly was an interesting speech by Twilight. I don't think she'll succeed given how Starlight has always outshined her and shown her superiority but who knows. Starlight may decide she doesn't want to turn a majority of the country against her OR she may just decide to blow Twilight to bits and be done with it. Good luck Starlight, we at ENN like your ideas and think it will be best for the country economically if she gets her way. We are 100% behind you and know you care about the safety and economy of this country.
