Canterlot office building 2:00pm

Outside of the Canterlot office building, a firefighter colt was reporting to the fire chief.

"Sir, Thorax and his team has put the fire in the basement out." The colt told him.

The fire chief nodded and said "Good."

"How's the rescue going?" The fire chief asked.

"It's a bit challenging but most of the team's can handle it. Those below the 15th floor are being evacuated down the fire escape with the help of firefighters. And those above the 15th are being escorted to the roof and evacuated by pegasus guards with a metal bucket which can hold 10 ponies at a time." He told him.

"Good, now get back to work." The fire chief told him.

"Understood sir." Said the colt as he saluted. Then he went back to work.

Canterlot office building 12th floor hallway

Thorax and the fillies were standing in front of a door to the 12th floor in the fire escape. Thorax gripped onto the door's handle and pushed it open, then he began to observe the area. And he saw dust, dallen rocks, broken lights, broken walls and a wooden door lying on the floor. And there were no fires.

"It's clear!" Thorax told the fillies.

The fillies nodded and stepped in the 12th floor.

"Okay, what do we do now?" Twilight asked looking at Thorax.

"We'll search for any ponies trapped in here, come on! Let's get to work!" Thorax told the fillies.

"Yes, Thorax!" Said the fillies. Then they began to look for any ponies trapped on this floor.

"Hello! Anypony here?" Rainbow Dash yelled, but she got no response.

"Anypony here? This is the fire department!" Rarity yelled, but she also got no response.

"If anypony can hear us! Yell out!" Twilight yelled as well, but she also got no response.

Pinkie was looking through broken windows and doors in the hallway, but she didn't find anything.

Fluttershy opened a door and looked in an office, but she also didn't find anything.

After that, all of them returned to Thorax who has finished searching as well.

"Find anypony?" Thorax asked them.

"No, Thorax." Said Rainbow Dash.

"Yeah, I searched around as well but I still didn't find anypony." Pinkie told him.

"Me too Thorax, noponies here. They must be somewhere else, maybe we can search deeper through here?" Twilight suggested.

Thorax turned around and looked through the dark corridor filled with clear smoke. Then he looked back at the fillies.

"Okay, we can search deeper through here. Great suggestion Twilight." Thorax told her.

"Thank you Thorax." She said as she nodded.

Then Thorax turned back and said "Come on! Let's go!" Then he ran, and the fillies followed him.

But once they got to the middle of the hallway, Thorax felt something on their left.

"Wait! Stop!" Said Thorax as he raised his right hoof.

When the fillies heard him, they stopped in their tracks behind him and Twilight bumped into Applejack which made her grunt and look at Twilight with an angry look, and Twilight smiled nervously.

Then Thorax took off his left glove and placed his left hoof on the wall, and when he pressed his hoof in, he felt the wall shaking. Thorax took his left hoof off the wall and looked around the hallway with wide eyes.

"Oh no. The fire is near us." Said Thorax quietly.

"What?" The fillies asked.

"The fire is near us. Run." He said quietly. The fillies still had a questioned look on their faces. Then Thorax turned around and looked at all of them "RUN!" He yelled.

Then the fillies screamed and ran with Thorax behind them.

"Quick! Back to the fire escape!" Said Thorax.

The fillies did what he said and ran back to the fire escape door.

But then, Twilight tripped on a small rock pile and fell on the the ground.

When Thorax heard that noise, he turned around and saw that Twilight has fallen on the floor.

"Twilight!" Thorax yelled as he ran up to her.

The fillies managed to reach back into the fire escape, Rarity held the door open and looked at Thorax and Twilight.

"Hurry up! You two!" Rarity yelled.

After Thorax picked Twilight up, he heard a loud noise behind the wall. He must assume that the fire was going to burst through the wall, he then saw the fallen wooden door in front of him.

"This should help!" Said Thorax as he picked up the wooden door and used it to shield him and Twilight.

"Come on Twilight! Run!" Thorax yelled.

"Okay." Twilight replied.

Then the fire burst through the wall and the door was able to protect Thorax and Twilight. And Twilight was closing her eyes while Thorax was pulling her back to the fire escape. Then after 10 seconds, the whole room bursted into flames and Thorax and Twilight were pushed back into the fire escape, and Twilight fell on the ground while Thorax panted for breath.

Outside of the building

When the ponies outside saw the 12th floor exploding and erupting in flames, they took some steps back and some firefighters began to escort them away from the burning building.

The fire chief looked at the burning building then at some of the foals.

"All of you! Go in and contain the fire now!" He yelled.

"Yes sir!" They yelled as they put on their air cylinders. Then they ran inside the building.

Canterlot office building fire escape 12th floor

Rarity closed the fire escape door just in time before the fire could reach them. After that she turned around and looked at her friends.

"Let's not go in there again." She said.

Thorax and the fillies nodded in her suggestion.

Thorax then knelt down and checked on Twilight.

"Twilight. Are you okay?" Thorax asked.

Twilight moaned weakily and turned her body around and looked at him.

"Yeah, that was crazy." Twilight replied slowly.

Then Thorax extended his right hoof at her, when Twilight saw his hoof, she grabbed it with her left hoof and Thorax pulled her up which made Twilight gasp and blush slightly.

"What will we do now?" Fluttershy asked.

"Let's wait for orders from the fire chief." Thorax replied.
