Chapters Their two things I like about being a larper.
Learning how to use dark age weapons and how they are used correctly without hurt/cut/kill yourself.
The kick ass armor.
Yeah I am a larper, well not one that always is 'Is thou this' or 'Art you well?' nonono I do it for the fun of it and for D&D! But you must be wondering how does a part-timer larper get his hands on a full plated armor and longsword with a mace? Answer a family friend who made it for me since he basically makes the stuff for movies and the like, he made it all out of steel and some parts are even titanium! To my surprise the armor was so light it was like wearing a weighed blanket over your whole body...that was how comfortable it was as well.
And the weapons themselves?
It took some time learning how to use them and NOT kill someone, even in a mock battle one wrong move and someone is going to lose a something. And I'm talking about a body part. So yeah after a few months of learning how to use dark age weapons later I officially became a larper.
Well their is no official thing to become a larper but at least I knew what I was doing with the weapons I was given. But after getting my coat of arms I think that is your official thing that does make you a larper. My coat of arms? Simple it was a fox in front of a tower.
The fox represents cleverness/swiftness while the castle is a call back to my family's coat of arms since my were macemen.
But never would I thought I would be using them to defend myself from a real threat.
The threat?: FUCKING PONY ZOMBIES!
How did I get here?
HOW THE FUCK SHOULD I KNOW!
Also I was scared shitless...
"GET THE FUCK OFF ME!" Using my longsword I pushed off the zombie back before kicking it back even more into the horde that was behind it.
My next move was a simple one...RUN!
Bolting the other way of the horde I ran though the shopping area of the market place I was in, where was I? Well I'm in some twisted form of equestira but as for I was? Hell if I know. Just put one foot in front of the other before they get to me! Even in my full plated armor I ran like I didn't have my armor thanks to my body getting use to the armor over the past few months.
I sprinted by the market place as I heard screams and saw zombies tearing into anthro ponies of all shapes and colors, sadly their was nothing I could do for them.
WWZ has taught me one thing.
'If you want to save someone. Save yourself,'
Climbing a ladder I made it to a roof of one of the many buildings of this town safe from the infected below, sitting down with a huff I sighed as I placed my hand to my face plate. Questions raced though my mind: Like.
How did I get here.
What is with the zombies.
And More importantly where were the elements of harmony!?
Shouldn't they do their thing and send these undead freaks into stone or something? I mean seriously what is going on!
Panting I looked up from my hiding spot to see the horde of undead advancing on some guards in gold armor and with spears trying to push them back. I have to admit 'gold' armor? Serious that metal is so soft it can't protect you from a sword strike and ontop of that your arms and legs are in the open?! Who in their right mind would make such a useless armor and who would be dumb enough to wear it?!
I rather wear nothing than that!
Also where were their swords?! Do they only have spears!!! AGAIN WHO ARMED THESE GUYS!
Before I could point out any more wrongs about the gear they had the horde broke the line they had the dead flooded them and began to rip them apart. Some pegesi tried to escape but they were grabbed and brought down and ripped apart, I could only watch as they became a feast for the dead.
Walking back I fell back with my back on the ground as I looked at the sky though my helmet's eye slots at the blue sky.
Zombies...I always wanted to see one but this? this wasn't what I had in mind!!!
Slowly I closed my eyes and I wished this was all a bad dream.
I then opened them to see the blue sky again...this wasn't a dream, I raised my hand to see it and wait...
THAT'S RIGHT I'M ARMORED! In real armor no less! Fuck yeah! And I was armed as well! OK OK not bad, not bad at all. And my armor covered my whole body which meant I was safe from bites or scratches.
Well if the zombies where scratchers...what kind of zombies are they even?
Slowly I moved to the corner of the roof and peaked over to see the horde over the line looking for more meat, lifting open my visor I looked down at the dead to see them wandering around and not running. So they weren't WWZ zombies which was good, where they walking dead zs? Well I couldn't tell from here as I turned around with my back against the wall as I placed a armored hand to my chin as I began to think of a plan.
This city has undead swarming it and I needed to get out without being over runned, though my armor can protect me from bites and scratches (if they infected that way) they could rip me apart limb from limb with their dead strength. So what was a way out of this city without being spotted?
'Wait that's it-!'
*Creak*
"what the hell-"
Question have you ever fallen though two floors? No? Well let me tell you if hurts...
I just pray to god that those walkers didn't hear me fall though two floors in full plate armor.
"Owwwww,"
Or me groaning in pain.
'Well I was on the roof so...I can only blame myself,'
Getting up I moved in the rubble of the wood and clay as I looked around, No zombies but I wasn't alone.
"P-p-p-please don't eat me,"

I blinked my eyes before I got up from the grounded rubble brushing my to see...a bat pony?
A child from the looks of it and she held a panicked look as I got up looking at her I looked right at her.
"Eat you? Kid do I even look like a zombie?" I asked...wait oh yeah she might not know what a human is.
She titled her head at my question.
"A zombie? What is that?" Giving a sigh I shook my head.
"Forget about it...where are your parents kid?" I asked the little girl as she was hiding behind a wooden box, she shook like a scared dog before pointing out to one of the boarded windows.
"Ma and Pa went out to work but they never came back when these monsters came back home," Oh boy I'm getting Clementine feels right now. "What are you?"
I turned to her before giving a sigh as I looked around seeing the zombies chew at a guard who screamed as his wing was ripped out before being eaten by a zombie. Backing away I turned to the kid.
"Right now I have a pulse and I know whats happening that makes me your best friend," I told her as she titled her head. God if it wasn't for the zombies that must be the cutest thing I've ever seen.
"Best friend? But I've just meet you and I don't know your name sir knight...well are you a knight? Their hasn't been a knight since princess luna was banished to the moon but-" She was cut off as a zombie arm came from one of the windows as she screamed.
"Damn it I knew one of them must have heard me crashing down! Kid we got to go!" She looked to me with fear.
"But my mommy and daddy," Moving down to her level I spoke with in a somewhat harsh tone.
"WE NEED TO GO NOW!" Grabbing her in my arms I moved my visor down as I kicked down the back door and began to run with the shocked child.
Running I held the kid close to me as she clung onto me for dear life.
She was scared and being taken by some guy who just picked her up from falling from ones roof probably has may be scared for ones life. Well maybe it was the zombies too...yeah it was the zombies.
Avoiding them as best I could unless I had to shoulder bash them aside or straight up run them over, to be honest in this city I felt like a mouse being chased by rats. If rats were slow and undead, running into a ally away I was meet by a dead end...
"Fuck me,"
Turning behind me the horde I had made where coming this way and I need to move fast looking around their was no fire escape, so that was a problem...
"Shitshitshitshitshitshit!" Kicking the trash aside I could now hear their moans coming as I panicked.
Looking down for anything that could be usefu-
A MAN HOLE!

It may stink but its the only card I have on the table and what I need to use to get out of this hell for now. One handing a 40 lb thing of iron was hard but I was able to move it far enough to move out the way and climb down.
"NO NOT THE DARK!" The kid screamed I turned to her.
"Sorry kid but its that or we die!" She looked at me with her golden eyes then to the horde before burying her head into my neck mail. Taking that as a yes I moved down before sealing the pot hole with the iron cover as I began to climb down the stairs.

When we finally made it down to the sewers I was meet with the good awful smell of shit and piss, not a present smell but one I would have to deal with. When I meet the stone bottom I looked around this place was a dark age style sewer with lanterns around giving off a green glow.
After looking around for a moment seeing that we were safe for now...
Putting the kid down she looked at me scared.
"Sorry kid," I spoke to the small bat pony she hand her hands together in fear. "I ain't going to hurt you lass otherwise I would have left you in that house,"
She gulped before nodding.
"Its OK Mr. knight you were scared and their were monsters and you did what you thought was right I should thank you Mr. Knight," She told me I just shook my head. "But Mr. knight those monsters...they surrounded Ma and Pa's work place will...will I ever see them again?"
'Oh fuck I'm not good with kids but I need to be honest with her'
Getting down on one knee I looked at her from behind my visor.
"Kid...Look...God how do I say this-"
"I'll never see ma and pa again," She starts to tear up.
FUCKFUCKFUCK!
I grab her shoulders as she started to cry.
"Hey Hey now easy there we don't know that they are 'eaten'," I told her as she sniffed as I looked at her.
"Look right now they would want you to make it out of this god forsaken city alive alright?" She gives a nodded. "Ok now you may not know me but I ain't the kind of guy that leaves some kid behind but if you don't do what I say when I say it you will die am I clear?"
"Yes sir Mr. Knight," I sighed.
"Get on my back,"
"Huh,"
I let her go as I pointed to my back.
"Get on I ain't carrying you though these swears nor am I going to let you walk though literal shit. Now climb on," I told her as she rounded my back she climbed on as she wrapped her arms around my neck but feeling her legs lock around my waist told me she was ready.
Slowly I rose to my height as she held on tighter but not enough to chock me.
"Now lets get the hell out of here,"

As I ran the surprisingly dry sewers with my metal sole boots making the sound of metal hitting the stone floor as we continued down it.
"Mr. Knight?"
"Yeah kid?" I asked as I looked around with a lantern I had grabbed.
"Do you have a name sir knight?" Turning to her I began to think...My real name was going to be weird in equestira so I think a new one is in order.
"My name is Jack and I'm not a knight. I a warden of legion," I told her.
Honestly I wasn't lying and I had my armor built off a set warden armor but slightly realistic.
"A warden? So you make sure bad ponies stay in jail," She asked but I shook my head.
"I'm a different warden kid," Looking down the hall to see it was clear as I ran down it.
"I have a name too," She pouted cutely.
Laughing quietly I turned to her.
"Ok kid what your name?" I asked as I saw her golden eyes look right at me.
"I'm Blair," She told me.
"Cute name but I'm still going to call you kid," I ruffled her hair/mane as I spoke as she gave a playful growl like a kitten, that kinda surprised me but hell if I knew anything about bat-ponies.
Turning down the hall we pressed on but stopped when I heard it.
"*Groan*" Narrowing my eyes I looked down the hall to see...it.
A single zed and from the looks of it a earth pony...If I knew my zombies (which I did) they would be stronger as a zombie since they no longer had pain to hold them back so that meant a earth pony ZOMBIE will be much stronger than a unicorn or Pegesi. I had to take careful...but sneaking by was not going to happen I would make to much noise and it already is coming this way which meant one thing.
Ending this in a fight.
Pulling out my long sword I narrowed I got down in a fighting stance.
"J-J-Jack what are you doing?" Blair whispered in fear.
"Shhhh hold on tight kid I'm got this...*In head: I hope*" Alright then lets see if my training and for honor gameplay has taught me enough!
As the zombie came forward I attacked with my blade, thanks to it I held a advantage: Distance and I was sure as hell going to us it. Cutting off its arms I ran forward and jabbing the blade though its throat before going around the head with my hands still on the blade doing a 180 around.
The head fell onto the shit covered bricked floor as the body fell down, turning to the head I was surprised to see it...well alive. Alright this confirms it...walking dead zombies. Moaning the zombie head tried to move but lacking a body meant it couldn't, raising my great sword up slightly I placed the edge on the side of it's skull, before I ended it.

Never in my life have I killed something...well that is a lie I did kill a bobcat at a hunting trip but it got away before we could find the body. I never felt anything but this? Actually seeing the body and killing it with a sword rather than a gun, I felt nothing then now? There was something...something else nothing I could explain.

"Mr. Jack are you alright?" I turned to her from behind my visor as she held a considered look. "You been standing still for awhile not moving,"
Shaking my head I pulled up my blade with the head still on the blade as I pushed it off before nodding.
"Yeah I'm good. Lets keep going," Turning down the tunnel I take the lantern from my belt leaving my blade in my other hand holding it by the blade.
(about a hour later)
It was a maze in their but no more zombies just that single poor sap I found, after a few turns we meet with the light of the end of the sewers. We had made it out of that hell hole, we were on the outside the city walls and we were meet with a lit-forest luckly no zombies in sight. After we got down from the hole Blair was now sitting on my shoulders as we began to walk away from the burning city.
"What now Mr. Jack?" I turned to the city that had a big sigh near the entrance read 'Welcome to Mixtown: The first friendship city! Twilight sparkle welcomes you!'.
"We keep going kid,"
"Where?"
"Forward...Forward is our best path course of action," I pointed out.
With that forward we went...

I sat on the stone floor as I watched the flames of the fire crack in the darkness as it ate the fuel that I gave it to eat as the fire slowly but surely ate the wood. We found this cave about a mile away from mixtown we went in deep enough so that the cracking doesn't attracted undead attention but the flames could be seen for any survivors. Normally I would think it wasn't best for looters or thieves but right now I didn't care I needed to know what was going on, I asked salem but she knew very little since her parents never told her what was normally going on outside the wooden walls of mixtown.
But she did tell me Mixtown was one of the first 'freindship' cities that were built for all races to come and live together and that queen twilight had also made them so that many resistant can stay in one building. She also told me that her mother said some people were getting sick and she needed not to go outside and play with other children to keep her safe. Salem also told me so many people were getting sick that she stopped going to school just so that she can be safe from this strange sickness.
Though I wasn't on the surface for long I did noticed that the city had buildings crammed together and her apartment home was quite small... No wonder the plague spreed so fast. They were so close together it cased the infection to spread at a extreme rate.
Speaking of rate...honestly I need to find others so our chances of survival are higher and maybe head north where its safer, since I lacked a compass and the stars are not natural I was fucked in tell where north was. Also food and water were going to be a problem, since she is part pony she could eat grass (I've already seen her do that before nightfall when I was getting fire wood) but me on the other hand need protein.
Water on the other hand isn't as bad since I did have a waterskin filled on my side and the sun wasn't hot so that meant it was around spring/fall time. If it was fall we were going to need a proper shelter than this cave along with fur and food to last the winter to come by.
Fuck this isn't going to be easy...
I turned my head to little Salem who was asleep on my thigh using my leather handbag as a pillow, she snored away cutely as my hand rested on her in a protective manner. She reminded me of my sister in a way (well not being annoy something she had that my sister didn't have). I gently brushed her mane from her eyes as she squirmed but only to smile slightly as she did, petting her slightly I turned back to the fire as it burned.
For some odd reason I felt at peace slightly.
I guess it was just the warmth of the fire touching my face which caused such a effect...
"Ohhh it seems I have guests," My blood froze at the voice as I gripped my long sword and looked around in the cave but only saw darkness.
There was no way anyone could have been in this cave, I checked before to see if their were any animals in it but it came up clean. How did this person sneak up on us? We were against the back wall!
Then I saw the host of this cave standing behind the fire. Our host was a large looking being cloaked in brown and black robes that cover their body, a calk white mask was on their face that held no expression.
"And a knight no less! Goddess how long has it been since I've seen your kind? 1,000 Years? By the stars it has been too long since I had the pleasure of hosting a fair knight!" Our host from the sound of it's voice was a female what their game was I had no idea. "What's this? A bat-pony. My my and a child none the less! what a night this has been,"
Our host began to circle the fire to us, but I raised my blade stating 'get back'.
"Now now sir knight I mean you no harm," She said. "I wish to see if the child is alright,"
Yet I kept the blade up as I spoke.
"Blair is alright friend and pardon the blade I'm not keen on being sneaked up,"
The female nodded.
"Wise very wise indeed I would expect none the less from a noble knight," She spoke bowing down slightly.
"That the other thing I'm no knight ma'am,"
Getting back up the host titled her head.
"What? Surely you jest fair knight for you hold the armor and coat of a follower of the sun," The host said confused.
Shaking my head I then spoke.
"I do not follow Celestia if that is what you think. I am a warden of the legion I serve the people," The two black eyes holes of the mask that the woman wore lit up lightly with a red glow.
"A warden?! BY THE GODDESS HERSELF I HAVEN'T EVEN MEET YOUR KIND BEFORE ONLY IN OLD STORIES BEFORE DISCORD!" The hostess said as she got to her knees and came close to me. "As a child witch mother told me great stories of legion! The great peacekeeper who stealthy took out the enemies who threaten the people and the giant law bringers who bring justice for the wronged and finally you!"
She grabbed the end of my blade in her metal clawed hands as I saw two red colored cat eyes looking back at me making me feel uneasy.
"Who are you?" The uneasiness was thick in the air as she with suprising strength pushed the blade away with one finger as she came in close to my exposed face.
"Someone knows what you are...human,"
I gulped as I began to reach for my mace as she held out her hands.
"I mean you no harm for you are my guest and I must say I'm a fan of your people warden," She then sat down in front of me cross legged as she placed her hands on her knees. "My name on the other hand is Vex and what might yours be?"
Looking at her I spoke.
"Jack," She giggled before speaking.
"We have much to talk about dearest Jack for this witch has been away from the world for a long time,"

Ok this was planned before meeting the 'group of OCs but I already have two of the males down and one of the females.

'Did I fall asleep?
I opened my eyes to be meet with the cave ceiling. Confused I then realized I no longer had my chain mail hood or my helmet and I was on resting my head on something soft, moving up to see I was resting on my leather bag. I froze...where was Blair?! Did...did that witch Vex tak-
"JACK!" Turning my head to see a blurr of navy tackle me in a hug. "Your finally awake!"
Blair looked up at me with a smile, I smiled back as I ruffled her mane.
"Hey kid how did you sleep?" I asked.
"Like a fill!" She said with her grin as she flapped her wings.
"That's good to here..." I looked to see Vex seating from where she was last night as I saw her calk white mask holding no exception on it. "I'm guess you meet Vex?"
She nodded.
"Yeppers! Vex is so nice she even gave me some fruit for breakfast! It was so good! A lot better than those apples from the market," Blair informed me as I looked to Vex.
Vex looked at me and spoke.
"Don't worry it wasn't anything special or anything bad just some magic fruit," She informed me I gave her a confused look. "It's a witch thing,"
"Thanks Vex for feeding her," Vex nodded.
"Think none of it my dear warden," She spoke as she raised her hand to me. "A matter of fact you haven't eaten as well,"
I was going to say something but my body spoke for me.
*Growls*
"*sigh* I can eat," Looking up she got up and walked away before returning with a few red apples, Normally if a witch would give you a red apple it was best to not take it unless you want to end up in a death like state. But right now...I was starved grabbing the apple I brought it to my mouth as I lifted my face plate slightly as I bit into the apple.
Had to say it was really good, better than I would expect from a red apple. I expected it to be slightly softer but this one was more crunchy the way I like my apples and tart along being sweet. It didn't take long before I ate the apple down to its core before looking up to Vex who gave her same blank look, god that mask! I can't tell what she is thinking!
"Thank you Vex that was good...but I have to ask where did you get these apples?"
She crossed her arms as she spoke.
"Easy I grew them with magic and alchemy,"
Of fucking course...magic, the whole concept of me realizing I was now in a world where magic is real and not a stage trick for a quick buck. The whole thing hurt my brain as life back home was simple, but I wasn't home I was in a world where magic and zombies are real.
"Well I thank you for feeding both Blair and I but I believe we must go," I spoke getting up this caused Vex to speak up.
"What? Why I know these undead are out their but I assure you that you and the child are safer than safe in my home," She placed a hand on her chest. "After all I was able to stay hidden from the sun and moon for the past 3,000 years in this small cave of mine my illusions will keep the undead and pesky looters back,"
I shook my head.
"Illusions don't work on the dead for its only a matter of time before a horde comes roaming by and all it takes is a single zombie to wander in here passing your illusion spell and get ontop of us while we are sleeping or have our guard down,"
Vex raised a finger before lowering it as if to say 'never mind', the good witch then spoke in a soft tone.
"Will it be alright if I joined you?" Blinking I looked down at her as her red eyes glowed slightly causing me to feel slightly wary. "I mean it's been so long since I had guests and honestly you two are the only ones to have come visit me in so long that I've almost forgot what it's like to have companions or friends,"
Humming I began to think, on the one side she was a magic user and a witch (a good one at that) which may prove useful if any of us get hurt. By animal bites (not zombies), fever, or anything else for that matter. The one down side was well she was a witch and from what she told me from last night ponies HATED her kind and would try to kill her just because she is a witch, in a nutshell it was like the witch trails of Salem on drugs. But their is a chance of that happening during all this will be slim (hopefully) for her both medical and magical knowledge.
With a nod I spoke. "Pack what you can carry vex,"
For some odd reason I watched as the masked witch's eyes light up like the fourth of July as they almost sparkled with joy.
"YOU MEAN IT!" She yelled I opened my hands to signaled her to 'keep it down' didn't want any Zs to come in and say hi alright.
"Yes but inside voices lets try to keep our voices down both inside and outside alright Vex?" The witch nodded as she clapped her hands with joy before skipping deeper into the cave, I turned to Blair who smiled at me.
"What?"
She closed her eyes before speaking in a sing-song voice.
"Nothing~" Opening her eyes she gave me the look but I lightly chopped down on her head as she yipped in pain.
"I've just meet her last night keep that head of yours clean kid," Blair turned to me with a pouty face as she rubbed her head where I chopped her.
"And done!" I turned to see Vex with a 'purse'? Really that's all she had?
"Is that all you have?" I asked pointing to the purse as she nodded.
"Yep trust me its all I need," Vex pointed out as she patted her bag.
"Right then lets go we're burning sun light," With my long sword in hand I lead the other two out of the cave and into the light forest.
"I'm so excited!"

There is one thing I hate about walking that I now love.
The quiet.
Normally it would drive me mad because of how boring it would get with no music to walk with, but the quiet was a sign that meant where were being as quiet not to attract any zeds. Well not fully quiet my armor did make some noise but it was so quiet that you could barely hear it.
Besides that Vex and Blair didn't talk we needed to keep the noise level at 0 when outdoors.
But of course Blair complained after a mile about her feet and I didn't blame here, she was just a kid so I did what any other person would do.
I let her ride on my shoulders as we walked and to my surprise she was very light for a kid...had she been starving? I mean when she ate the apples Vex gave us she wolfed them down like crazy which made me wander.
"Hey kid,"
Blair looked down to me.
"Hm?"
"How often did you and your parents eat? Before all this I mean," I asked her as she spoke with a sad voice.
"Daddy and Mommy tired there best to put food on the table but sometimes I will have to eat and they don't,"
Poor kid parents must have been scrapping the barrel just to get by.
"I'm sorry you had to live like that kid," She lowered herself onto my helmet.
"It's not your fault my mommy and daddy had to live like that," She stated.
Still I did feel bad...
Yet this grabbed Vex's attention as she turned to me.
"Though I have been living under a rock for quite a long time the bones have told me sad tales of the world outside," She state as she corrected her calk white mask.
"You read bones?"
She turned to me and winked.
"I'm a witch sweetie,"
"Should have guessed," Blair laughed slightly at my sarcastic voice.
"If you don't believe me I could always-"
I stopped in my tacks as Vex did.
"Someones here,"
I flinched as I quickly got Blair off my shoulders and onto the ground.
"Zombies?" I asked she shook her head as she pulled out a vial.
"No they are alive,"
"How many?"
"Five but one seems bigger than the others," she warned.
"What are they? Ponies?"
She shook her head.
"One diamond dog, a hippogriff, a changling, and two dragons my my we have quite the handful dear warden," Vex told me.
Pulling out my longsword I readied myself for a fight as the sound of heavy footsteps came close.
"Be ready we don't know if they have ill intentions,"
"Agreed but if they do they don't stand much of a chance between a which and a warden~" Vex said playfully causing me to look at her. "Its been awhile since I've last fought so this will be interesting to say the least,"
I nodded.
"Right,"
As the footsteps got closer the green bush that was blocking our line of sight was moved as we meet who was waiting on the other side.
"Whoa who are you guys?" Whoa that is a big diamond dog.
"Hey why are we stopping!" A female voice asked behind the large black furred diamond hound.
He turned behind them and pointed to us.
"There are these guys here what should I do?"
"Wait guys not dead?" Another female asked before a male voice spoke up.
"Let me see Rock," Something was a bit off in his voice almost like a hiss.
The big diamond dog who I was to guess was 'rock' moved away leaving a crimson armored...changeling? When his eyes meet us his eyes changed color from a green to a yellow.
"By the queen there are others,"
He stepped forward but I kept my stance as he held out his hands.
"Whoa easy there guys we mean you no harm," Before the changeling could go on a hippogriff peaked there head as a blue fur peaked out.
"OOOHHH Let me see them bloodfang let me see them-!" He was pushed down by the changeling who still held a friendly smile.
"Pardon my friend here its been awhile since we last seen other...living beings beside the undead,"
As the changling's eyes changed back to a green he spoke.
"Now would you kindly lower your weapons we don't want the child to see anything messy,"
When he said the word 'child' Blair tighten her grip on my kama around my waist.
"We truly mean you no harm friend," As he said this two dragoness peaked from behind rock.
"Whoa who's the armored dude?"
"Quiet sister,"
I blinked but turned back to the changeling as he still held out his hands.
"Please friend we don't mean you any harm," As he said this I took in a deep breath before turning to vex.
She gave a nod, as she did I lowered my weapon to them as she did the same.
The eyes of the changeling turned to a purple as he gave a smile of relief.
"Thank you friends,"
As he said this he moved forward allowing the other three to come into view and I got to say it was a weird one at that.
'Rock' was the diamond dog that was about 7 feet tail and built like a tank...got be honest if I hadn't known better this guy could easily be a peacekeeper. He wore a pair of tattered trunks along with a leather shoulder pad on his left arm that did little to protect himself.
The two female dragons where...how to say this? Opposites? Almost twins in away but both had a uniqueness to the other. One was white scaled with blue highlights while the other was black scaled and red highlights but both held the same eye color as the other. A nice dragon eyed gold. They both wore the same outfit but reversed of the other but what the outfit was... I don't know.
The hippogriff was what I would guess a teen and was completely blue save for the green on his chest and arms with a white beck. Judging by his clothes he was probably a student of some kind but not one of those mane students or whatever they are called.
Lastly was the changeling and he was a old one...well classic to say the least and he unlike the rest donned for war in crimson/vanta carapace armor with a purple gem in his chest plate. His armor was covered in damage marks but mostly around his arms and feet where bite marks and scratches covered them.
They have seen a lot no telling in how much they have seen.
"Who are you lot?" I asked.
The changeling step forth and smiled his eyes turning green.
"Well friend I am Bloodfang of the...*sigh* former crystal royal guard that was swore to protect our dear queen blah blah blah look I many seem a 'unturned' but I can assure you I'm not love hungry like the rest of my kin...or what's left of them," His eye turned blue for a moment before turning to green again. "Well thats enough from me way don't the rest of you greet the knight and the ladies?"
The diamond dog stepped forward with a smile.
"Names rock though I many not be bright I do know how to fight," Was that rhyme...you know what never mind. "I'm from a diamond tribe up north and I came to be here after Bloodfang saved my hide from them dead ones,"
"Zombies Rock they are zombies," The griffin said turning to him. "We went over this before,"
I raised a eyebrow to this guy as I spoke.
"And who may you be?" The griffin turned to me with his red eyes.
"Me well names Sky cloud nice to meet you," He spoke with his hand out.
I just looked at it...causing him to slowly put it down.
"Ooook not much of a talon shaker I understand," He said with a smile.
That left the two sisters who mirrored one of the other but still had that part about them that was different.
"I am Blue-" The White dragon stated.
"And I am red," Finished the black dragon.
"Yes we are sisters," They spoke at the same time which wasn't creepy at all.
"Could have easily guest that...parents weren't good with names?"
Blue nodded as her sister huffed black smoke.
"Sadly yes but it was our mother who named us this our father was to say the least a...whats the word?"
"Bastard," Red huffed.
"Red please there is a child present do try and not say such words around the child,"
"Whatever sis,"
Blue turned to me and spoke.
"What may be your names sir knight?"
"Jack my name is Jack,"
Author's Note
Well there you go the five finally meet "John" and his two companions, it wasn't really hard to pick since not alot of you guys PM or commented characters. Not pointing out names but some where kinda weird, like the good kind of weird like red and blue. For some odd reason while I read these two bio I was kinda reminded of Ryuko and Satsuki from kill la kill. I liked them for that but for sky cloud I kinda place him as a smart kid who lives in a kinda doesn't fit in. Rock...when I was reading his bio I just thought of brick from borderlands and tried to put that lovable vault hunter as a diamond dog in my story. Lastly was bloodfang now this guy was on the money for one of the spots, why? Mostly because he has military experience unlike the rest of the group (though Vex is way odder than him don't ask me how old she is that will be reviewed later) and I liked his character out right and tried my best to put him in as well as I could.
So what do you guys think of the team? Also HAPPY LATE NEW YEARS! Due to it being a bit late I added 500+ extra words to this chap to make it slightly larger for you all to read so yeah. Hoped you enjoyed and I have the next one out soon!
(Night)
"So mixtown is gone?" I nodded at bloodfang's question as he sighed.
The rest of his group shifted slightly before Red spoke up.
"Great now what? Mixtown was our best bet now its nothing but a horde infested shit hole,"
"Sister the child," Blue hissed as red only rolled her eyes.
"What do we do now?" Red asked bloodfang as he crossed his arms.
"I don't know,"
"What do you mean you 'don't know'?!" Red raised her voice causing me to hold out my hand.
"Red please keep your voice down," I warned.
The dragonness snarled at me.
"Look he doesn't know so quiet down and quit it let the man think," Red huffed as she turned from me with her arms crossed under her breasts.
Bloodfang took off his helmet and exhaled.
"Thanks Jack,"
I nodded to him.
"Not a problem mate," Bloodfang's eyes turned a blood red as he rubbed them.
"So much for that idea,"
"Going to mixtown?" He nodded.
He sighed as he pulled a flask from his belt and took a swing from it, after he was done he handed it to me. I just shook my head as I kindly refused the drink.
"So what your story Jack?" Asked bloodfang.
"Does it really matter?"
"Maybe,"
"Well there not much to say bloodfang I'm just a guy trying to get by in this world nothing more nothing less,"
"Aren't we all?" Asked the changeling.
"Yeah but I'm trying to get this little one somewhere safe," I placed my hand on Blair's sleeping form as she used my waist bag as a pillow on my lap.
"How do you two meet?"
I snickered at the memory before speaking.
"I fell though a roof,"
"What?" Bloodfang's eyes turned yellow at my answer before I spoke again.
"Dude I feel though a roof and saw her alone in a room with zombies pounding at the door so I did what any other good person would do and picked her up and ran,"
Bloodfang shifted slightly as he heard this.
"Did...did you kidnap her?"
"She would have died along with her parents,"
"But that still kid-"
"Her parents where already dead," The changeling blinked as I went on. "Call it fate or whatever but something brought me to her house whatever it is it wanted me to take this kid to safety,"
Bloodfang blinked before turning to the fire as the only sound was the crack of the fire as everyone was silent some slept and some just watched the fire.
"I do have a question Sir jack," I turned to see that blue asked me a question.
"What is that?" I asked.
"Are you a knight of princess Celestia?" She asked as her gold eyes stared right into my very soul.
"No and please don't call me Sir...it makes me feel old,"
"Than what are you?" The dragonness asked as Vex looked up from her vials as she crawled over to me.
"Don't you know? He's a warden!"
Red turned to us and before turning over to me and looked me up and down.
"Your saying this guy is a jailer?"
I swear if Vex wasn't wearing that mask she would have the most shocked look that I would ever see.
"Of course not! He's a warrior of the legion! Have you not heard there talls?!" I placed a hand on the witch's shoulder as she turned to me.
"Keep it down Vex,"
She nodded before speaking. "Sorry Jack,"
Nodding I let go as red spoke.
"What story?"
Oh boy we are going to be here for awhile.
Vex explained the legion and who they are to the people as she told them about the mighty lawbringers, the honorable Centurions, along with the loyal conquerors, she told about the noble paladins, the quiet peacekeepers, and finally the wardens who fight for whats right. She spoke of a story of how the legion came during a time before faust and discord, a time where order was nothing more than a idea in a war torn land. Only for the legion to come and bring order to the land and untie all the races under one banner, a time where peace was no longer a dream but a reality. Sadly it only lasted for almost a single life time until the legion was shattered from within and the peace full world was turned on its head and back to where it was a dog eat dog world.
It was faust who brought the ponies into order once again and aimed to fight the other races but only to be meet with the legion though broken still fought the mighty goddess for the rights of ALL races not just the ponies. Sadly this tale of the legion was brought to a end where the legion's disorder was their downfall as they just...vanished but before they did they promised that they would return one day and bring order back into a world where disorder returns.
The group Liston well to the story. They then turned to me after the story was over and red was the first to speak up.
"So your one of these legion aren't you?" I didn't say a word as I only nodded at her to where the dragonness leaned in close to me coming into my personal space as she studied me.
She then asked.
"How old are you?"
"19 why do you ask?"
The black dragon moved back as she held a look of curiosity.
"I though you legion guys would be immortal or something...I mean you guys did fight a goddess after all," She then asked another question. "So where are the others?"
Tilting my head questioningly she spoke up.
"Where are the other of the legion?"
I held out my heads I spoke.
"I'm the only one,"
Red and the others flinched back before blue spoke.
"What do you mean?"
Turning to blue I spoke.
"I am the legion,"
Everyone just stared at me before red spoke.
"Great so much for you guys coming in to save the day again!" She huffed.
"Hey I didn't ask for this Red," She turned to me as I spoke again. "I didn't ask to be a warden but here I am in a world where zombies are fucking everywhere and hell on earth so give me a break,"
Red hissed as I growled back.
"Please you two stop," Vex said holding out her hands.
We stopped as red took a seat next to her sister.
"Now Jack may be the only legion member here but give him some space hes at least trying to help," She gestured to the child on my lap as I placed a hand on Blair's sleeping form. "He's only one man,"
Red huffed as Blue turned to me.
"Must be quite the burden you have,"
Placing my hand on my head I nodded.
"Yeah big fucking shoes to fill,"
"Hey maybe we can help!" Looking up to see rock awake with a smile on his face.
"What do you mean big guy?" I asked.
"Well legion is a group of guys right? So why can't we join the legion?"
"What?"
"Think about it you can do only so much by yourself but with us you can do so much more," Rock said as bloodfang began to nod.
"He's right you know Jack your only one man and if you join our group you, Vex, and that little girl have better chances of survival with us. I think that's what rock is trying to say," The diamond dog nodded at bloodfang as he turned to me.
"So what do you say? Can we become legion?" Crossing my arms I looked at him before smiling.
"I thought we were already a group big guy," Rock held a giant smile on his face as the others looked at me.
"Alright then Jack what do you think it best for us?" Bloodfang asked as I spoke.
"Well its best that we keep going north and hopefully get our hands on supplies while we move,"
Bloodfang then spoke.
"Why north?"
"North is less populated and it would be more safe than where we are now don't you agree?" I asked holding out my hand.
Bloodfang turned in thought before smiling and turned back.
"When do we start?"
With a huffed I dropped back as I laid on the ground.
"In the morning. Now I need sleep,"
Bloodfang chuckled as I closed my eyes.
"Of course rest my friend,"
With that I began to fall into the dream realm as everything began to fade into it.
