Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Meanwhile in an abandoned subway station, The Big Man, The Enforcers and The Tinkerer all met there. The Tinkerer was adding upgrades to Shocker's suit, giving it an even bigger power supply and working on newer gauntlets. Meanwhile, Big Man was baffled.

"YOU MEAN YOU LET EM' GET AWAY?!" Big Man grit his teeth and clenched his fists.

Ricochet and OX both backed up, both in fear as Big Man was the most threatening person they'd met, "DON'T LOOK AT US!" Exclaimed Ricochet, "MO WAS THE ONE WHO CALLED IT OFF!"

OX nodded his head, agreeing with Ricochet, "YEAH WHAT HE SAID!"

Big Man glared at Montana who found himself shrugging, maintaining a nonchalant tone, "Sorry Big Man, but my damn suit ran out of power, besides my damn suit decided to show some o' it's inconvenient flaws."

"Yes about that!" a man with whitish gray hair and chin hair, wearing a lab coat and glasses walked into the room. This was The Tinkerer and he was holding the Shocker suit with the new gauntlets, "I think you'll find this suit to be superior, with an even better power supply than before!" He handed Montana the suit.

Montana peered at the suit, and the new gauntlets, they were much more smaller compared to the bigger clunky ones he had, the also both had red lines going down them. He furrowed his eyebrows, "What's with the new tech bracelets er whatever?"

"They hold their own separate power supplies, both being able to hold the equivalent amount to your old suit" He then handed him a charging dock, "They are both rechargeable, but remember, they will only be necessary once your suit fully runs out of power."

Montana formed a wicked grin across his face, "Alright Doctor! I'll take yer word!" He glanced at both of his partners OX and Ricochet, "Boys! Look's like we better resume our hunt!"

Ricochet rolled his eyes, "It's about damn time!"

Big Man however had a different idea, something he should've done from the start. "No!" The Enforcers all turn their heads at The Stern looking Big Man.

"What do you mean no?" OX asked, "I thought you wanted us to squash him?"

Big Man shook his head, "You three clearly couldn't get the job done yourselves, so were doing a new plan!" He folded his arms, "Find Spider-Man, give him a good beating, AND BRING HIM TO ME!" He let all his hatred pour out, making The Enforcers flinch.

Shocker regained his posture and nodded his head, "Yes sir it will be done!" The three moved out rather quickly, making the Tinkerer chuckle.

"Well I better be heading down to CTU." said the Tinkerer, "You have fun with your Spider-Man hunt!" He walked off, going in the same direction that The Enforcers.

It was early in the morning, just past the crack of dawn. The city was in it's usual busy state, cars driving, people walking and pigeons flying.

But then suddenly, tires were heard screeching on the ground.

That's when a car hauling truck barreled to it's next turn. The people driving the car were two robbers, a man and a woman wearing guy fawkes masks, they were the Gonzales Twins.

Jone was behind the wheel, trying to manhandle the vehicle while Jane had her head out the window, having difficulty at shooting multiple police cars.

She glanced back at her brother, "Uh? Jone, it wouldn't hurt to speed up a little!"

"I'm trying!" He grit his teeth, "This is a lot harder than it looks!"

"Well try harder!" She protested before glancing out the window and beginning to shoot the police again.

But just around the corner, a black strand of web traveled through air and stuck onto a building. Bystanders peered at the rope like webline for a moment before they watched as a black blur travelled past them. It left them shook, wondering what they'd just witness.

I'll tell you what they witnessed, they witnessed, 'The New Black suited Spider-Man!'. He let go of his webline while it was on the arc and began barreling through the sky, something he usually never did, but thanks to his 'new suit' he was able to go a bit haywire and do things like that.

"WOOO! WHAT A RUSH!" He exclaimed. He dove towards the hood of the truck, with the intentions of completely surprising the robbers. "Man this is really going to take some getting used to!"

The robbers were about to head for another turn, when suddenly things took a turn for the worst. "Shit!" Bellowed Jane.

"What, What is it?" asked Jone.

"The damn thing is out of ammo!" She threw her automatic machine pistol away in a fit of annoyance, "That was my only gun!"

"Wha--? You didn't think to pack more?!"

"I DIDN'T PLAN FOR IT ESCALATE THIS BADLY JOEY!" She protested.

Than suddenly, Jones view of the was blocked as Spider-Man landed on the truck. The two both screamed, being startled by Spider-Man, or who they thought to be Spider-Man, honestly they didn't know, but at the same time didn't care to know because he'd just come out of nowhere.

Spider-Man peered at the two for a moment, "Wow looks like Ski Masks aren't the latest fashion trend anymore!" He flicked his fists down, letting out more of the suits webbing, covering the whole windshield in it. He glanced behind him, his eyes widening, they were heading straight for a wall!

"Uh-Oh!" He climbed down to the front of the barreling vehicle. He thought fast,"I don't have enough time to make a full web wall!.... Looks like I'm gonna have to find another way to stop the driving force! , nervously gulping, thinking of one idea! "Well let's hope I can actually pull this off!"

He stretched out both his arms and started firing multiple weblines onto multiple buildings, side by side, across from one another, anyplace he could fire weblines on.

Suddenly, he felt himself be slightly pushed back, holding onto all the weblines he fired with both hands. But, he didn't feel any sort of strains on his arms, in fact he felt a little relaxed, like none of the compression force was affecting him. "I don't believe it! Its like I'm standing in plain air right now, I don't feel a thing!"

The truck began to slow down at an almost unnatural rate, and soon enough it stopped.

Spider-Man himself was in disbelief, "Wow.... Just wow!" He had never been able to do that before. He looked down at his suit, "Man would I ever do without you!" Then he had another idea, he had his camera with him and the paparazzi hadn't showed up yet, "Well might as well blow Jonah away!"

He took his camera out of his suit, a new thing he'd learn about it was he could store his phone, camera, just about anything really, in his suit, making things much more easier on him. He glanced up at a light post, leaping up onto it and placing his camera there with some webbing as reinforcement.

"Okay make this look interesting Sentry!" He leapt up on top of the truck, then he fired a webline onto a building. He stood their, waiting for the right moment, counting in his head for his camera to go off.

"Now!"

He leapt up and swung, just as the camera flashed and snapped the shot. As he swung he grabbed his camera off the light post and put it back in his suit. "The Bugle is definitely gonna love this! The internet's gonna go nuts once they read the headline, 'The New Spider-Man!'" Spider-Man then furrowed his eyes, thinking whether or not that was a headline worth reading, "Well whatever J.J comes up with!"

Spider-Man grabbed his phone out to check the time, "Hmm? 6:56, The Internship starts in 15 minutes, might as well head there!" He changed directions of where he was going, letting go of his webline, turning his body around and firing another webline.

As he swung however, he realized that the Daily Bugle wasn't far from his location. Thinking about it, he decided to take a little detour, "Well... I mean I don't wanna hang onto these pictures for too long. Probably should head too the print shop though!"

He changed directions again, letting go of his webline and firing a new one from his top hand and heading towards a photo print shop and then, towards Daily Bugle.

***

Spider-Man arrived at the top of the Daily Bugle building, where he was out of plain sight, well in terms of human sight. "Okay suit! Flash Sentry!" A blue aura glowed around Spider-Man, the suit began forming into a hoodie and pants like it did last night.

Now he was less conspicuous and looked more average so to speak. "Man this beats changing for fifteen minutes any day!" Flash was more than happy with this 'new suit' of his, it was like the world finally listened to him and gave him something helpful.

He opened the door, the one that led directly to the staircase, luckily it wasn't so much of a long way down for Flash as thankfully, the office he always headed too was on the top floor.

Going down a flight of stairs he reached the door leading to the top floor officers. He stuffed his hand in his hoodie pocket, grabbing the picture out of his hoodie. It was a really big picture, just the size of an 8x11 inch paper, being a bit smaller, he smirked, "If this doesn't get on the front page I don't know what will."

He opened the door, walking through it and closing it. Despite the early morning, The Bugle was pretty packed, with editors and photographers already working on the clock, rushing through everything, making sure they get on before deadline.

"Man, when does this place open?" Flash thought to himself.

He walked through what he sometimes considered, 'The Paper Jungle.' Walking near J.Jonah Jameson's office he noticed that his level-headed secretary, Betty Brant was nowhere in sight, "Odd, Betty's usually always here before I am." He peered at the empty chair for a moment before shrugging, "Maybe she has a day-off or something."

He walked into Jameson's office, only to be met with Robbie Robertson. "Robbie?" Flash walked into the room with a furrowed eyebrow, "What is J.J still sick?"

Mr. Robertson glanced at Flash, "Oh hey Flash!" he greeted, "Well it's more than Jonah, a lot of our staff has been catching the cold recently, you know, Jackelyn, Raphael, heck I think Betty's gotten sick too.

Flash's eyes widened a little, "Really?!… Well that explains why she's not here today."

"So what brings you to The Bugle this early?" asked Mr. Robertson, "Usually we see you come In mid day."

Flash handed the picture of Spider-Man to Mr. Robertson, "I actually just came by to give you this new picture I snapped of, well I assume to be Spider-Man." Flash obviously was faking his cluelessness, just to be able to sell the picture.

Mr. Robertson's eyes widened, "Flash, what is this?" He sounded shocked, but not particularly in a bad way, "Oh this is definitely news worthy, Spidey saving the day in a new pair of threads."

Flash chuckled, "You know most headlines involving Spider-Man seem to always have the word menace."

"That's just Jonah!" said Mr. Robertson, brushing off the comment, "But speaking of Jonah, how much does he usually pay you for your pictures?"

Flash blinked twice, "Well, four to five hundred really." He shrugged.

Mr. Robertson's shoulders dropped, there were many absurd things he'd heard in The Daily Bugle in all his years but this might take the cake, "Four to five hundred?" He was baffled, "HOW?!"

Flash furrowed his eyebrows, "Is that overpriced?"

"OVERPR--" He nearly screamed before letting out a sigh and pinching the bridges of his nose, stopping himself, "Flash are you for real, people would pay over a thousand for something like this!"

Flash's eyes widened, "A THOUSAND?! B-BUT I THOUGHT THAT $400 WAS THE STANDARD RATE FOR A KID LIKE ME!"

"Sentry... you gotta start bargaining more, not standing around and take what you get!" He took out his wallet, "Now, I'm gonna pay you $1200, and don't you dare try to refuse it." He handed Flash the stack of cash, "Once Jonah gets back, I'm gonna put in a good word for you and get your salary increased because there is no way you should be getting payed this low for pictures as good as these."

Flash shot up his hands, "Oh no, Mr. Robertson you-you don't have to do that, really I--"

"That's an order!" His stern tone stopped Flash in his tracks, making him merely nod his head and walk out the office.

As Flash walked out he was trying to process what had just happened, he looked at the cash he'd been given, he hadn't seen so much since the whole wrestling match. He put it in his jacket and found himself smirking while his mouth was still hanging open.

"Man... things just keep getting better for me!" He ran out towards the staircase again, feeling more ecstatic than ever, now setting off towards the Canterlot Tech Laboratories

***

Spider-Man landed right onto the wall of the lab department to CTU, just above the entrance. "Okay, Flash Sentry!" The suit had a blue aura around it before turning into a hoodie, black pants and black shoes. But then Flash stroked his chin, "Hmm? well maybe a windbreaker would be more comfortable!" His torso had blue aura around it, before the hoodie became a black windbreaker with white stripes and an Adidas logo on the chest.

Flash chuckled a little and shrugged, "Hmm? More of a Nike guy but whatever" He leapt off the wall and headed for the entrance.

"Hey Sentry, wait up!" Flash glanced behind him, it was his co-worker Sugarcoat. As soon as she caught up to Flash, she stopped, she bent down and panted, "Jesus you are a hard person to catch up with!"

Flash chuckled even more, "Is it really that, or are you just trying to exaggerate the long distance you ran to reach this point?"

Sugarcoat glanced up at him and smugly smirked, "Okay Einstein, being literal and blunt is my bit!" She stood up straight, "But honestly you're more competent than that Micro Chips character! Why'd you even ask him to fill in for you?"

"Hey come on, that guy's like my brother! and besides he seemed like a fair substitute" said Flash, "Oh yeah, he said something about finally getting you to date him? Wanna elaborate?"

"He WHAT!?" Sugarcoat's eyes widened, her teeth gritting but a noticeable red on her cheeks. "When I get my hands on him!" She grumbled viciously.

"So am I supposed take that as a yes?"

She glanced at Flash, calming down a bit, "Look, he just... wouldn't stop asking!" She flailed her arms out in annoyance, "It was always, 'Oh Sugarcoat would you go out with me' o-or 'Sugarcoat please you're so beautiful!' he was always complimenting me, and well...." She trailed off for a bit, her tone changing near the end from sour to nervous, leaving Flash in anticipation.

"And well what?" he gestured his hands for her to keep going.

She took a moment, taking a deep breath, "And well I thought it was really cute-- why don't we go inside!" She shuffled her feet towards the door.

Flash couldn't help to chuckle even more but shrugged his arms, "Alright, whatever you say."

She pushed the entrance door opened, walking inside with Flash following. Heading towards the entrance to the lab, they could hear Professor Discord and what sounded like he was arguing with someone.

Sugarcoat glanced at Flash, "What do you think is going on there?"

Flash shrugged, "Let's find out." Without any second thought, he pushed the lab entrance doors opened. He saw two people inside, Professor Discord, and a blonde headed person in a lab coat that he'd never seen before, the most eye catching feature was he had a prosthetic arm.

The two scientists turned their heads towards the doorway, seeing both the interns, "Ah, good morning you two!" Professor Discord nodded.

The two nodded. "And you are?..." Sugarcoat asked, gesturing for an answer.

"Hmm?-- Oh yes", he gestured his arms at the person Sugarcoat was wondering about, "Flash, Sugarcoat, This is Doctor Curt Connors.

"Pleasure to meet you both." He gave out his hand to shake.

Flash blinked twice, "Wait you're Doctor Curt Connors." he grabbed his hand and shook it, "The Geneticist at Equestria State?"

He arched an eyebrow as they continued shaking hands, "Are you familiar with my work?" letting go of Flash's hand he shakes Sugarcoat's hand.

"Well, kinda." Flash shrugged, "Me and my friend did a presentation that went in-depth about your theory of Lizard DNA in tenth grade, oh by the way that theory is brilliant and could possibly translate well if you made a stable serum."

Doctor Connors smirked, "Impressive, most tenth grade students I meet seem to only be interested in the Chemistry aspect of high school."

Flash chuckled, "Well, I mean.. I've kind of been more interested in technology and physics but I kinda have a soft spot for Biology."

"So what exactly were you two skirmishing for?" asked Sugarcoat, trying to change the conversation.

"Well you see, Connors here has lost an important so-on-so, 'un-native organism' that was found on a space shuttle."

"I didn't lose it!" Protested Doctor Connors, "It was stolen, I swear!"

Flash's and Sugarcoat's eyes widened, putting the pieces together in that sentence they realized un-native was another word for alien.

Sugarcoat adjusted her glasses, "Wait?! So you're basically saying that Doctor Connors lost an alien life form?"

"Or it got stolen?" Flash chimed in.

"Well, yes!" said Doctor Connors, "Well the stolen part anyway, the police caught the perpetrators"

"How does an Alien Lifeform get stolen?" asked Sugarcoat, "Wouldn't there be maximum security surrounding it or something?"

"Well yes! We put it in the most secure containment chamber we could build, not to mention we had alarm systems programmed at night, it seemed almost impossible for someone to take it."

Flash arched an eyebrow, "What happened?"

Professor Discord chimed in, "Well apparently, a group of criminals planned a robbery, hacking into the mainframe security at Equestria state and snatching the alien lifeform from the chamber and putting it into a thermos or something."

Sugarcoat raised an eyebrow, "Wait then how did the police know the lifeform was being stolen?"

"They were amateurs, apparently they only hacked into one alarm system that secured the organism, otherwise they were being livestreamed by NASA who had live feed to the laboratory and quickly called the authorities to the location."

"Were they caught?" asked Flash.

Doctor Connors let out a sigh, "Well thankfully yes, Spider-Man came in and stopped the attempted robbery."

Flash's eyes widened, "Did he just say Spider-Man?!"

"But when they searched the van the alien lifeform was gone, now they have no idea of where it went."

Flash was trying to figure out what in the world Doctor Connors was talking about, but then he realized what he was talking about, remembering everything from last night, "T-The Truck I stopped last night! That's why there were so many police chasing after it, but I don't remember seeing anything out of the ordinary! Unless.. he discretely glanced down at his clothes, but before he could even think he heard the doors to the lab open.

"Am I interrupting?" The four all glanced back at the door and saw a man with white hair and chin hair, glasses and a lab coat walk in.

"Oh, Doctor Mason!" Discord Nodded, "Oh no there's nothing eventful going on in here."

Flash and Sugarcoat look at each other with confused looks, shrugging as to who Doctor Mason is.

Discord glances at the two, "Oh yes, Flash, Sugarcoat, this is Doctor Phineas Mason, Doctor Mason, this is Sugarcoat and Flash Sentry."

"Mm yes, The professor here seems to speak very highly of you two." He shook hands with both of them.

Sugarcoat glanced at Flash and gave him a blunt smirk, "So you know him to?" Flash merely shrugged, not knowing who this guy was.

Doctor Mason glanced at Doctor Connors, holding a sheet of paper with some analytics on it, "Connors our team has finally gotten some information about the organism you sent us, but for all we know this might be the only information we'll get."

"Well what did you get about it?"

Professor Discord glanced at Flash and Sugarcoat, "Uh you two, um with all due respect, go find something to do, this is kind of a, 'grownup situation' if you get my gist."

Both of them blinked twice and nodded, going towards a table with lab equipment.

***

Spider-Man swung through the city, thinking about the news he'd learn earlier today, the fact that an alien lifeform was bonded onto him.

"Face it Sentry! You have an Alien lifeform now bonded with you and you don't even know what it could do!" He let go of his webline and turned left, just near Equestria State University. "You should just return it and go back to being normal Spider-Man! It's not even ethical to be hauling this thing around!"

Spider-Man clung onto a statue, just overlooking Equestria State University, "Okay... here I go!" he stood there on the statue, still looking at the sleekly designed, huge glass building, "Gonna return that suit now!" but he didn't move an inch.

He let out a sigh, "Oh great the thing has grown on me so much I don't even want to let it go" He leaned his head back onto and rested it onto the surface of the statue, "It's made life so much better--but it's not right, I have to return this thing!" He let out a growl of annoyance, "Why am I always in tough dilemmas!"

Suddenly, Spider-Man heard a crowd of people all speaking and screaming among one another. His eyes furrowed, glancing behind him he looked behind him and saw a building burning from the top floor. His eyes widened, "Oh my god!"
