Flash Sentry The Spectacular Spider-Man
ISSUE #5 CHAPTER 8:Ricochet's meltdown/Shockers last stand
Previous ChapterNext ChapterNight time, some could say it's bone chilling, while others might say it's one of the most beautiful times of the day. But For Spider-Man, it's probably the most busiest time of his life. At this point in his life he's gone up against a hundreds maybe even thousands of goons and villains during the night, and this was no different.
The Black Suited Spider-Man complimented the night sky, he could've almost went unnoticed if it weren't for the brightest city in Equestria State.
He was heading to Rutherford Tower, Canterlot's Bell tower, one of the city's most finest and well known structure. Waiting for him was the Shocker and Ricochet.
This time Shocker thinks they have a better advantage now that OX is weighing them down, meanwhile Ricochet thinks that they're gonna have a hard time as OX was kind of the brawns that took the beating or beat the person up, leaving Shocker and Ricochet to always be the brains of their operations.
But Ricochet couldn't tell Shocker that directly, Shocker would probably lash out at him, so he played it safe and just obeyed Shocker, even if he didn't agree with it.
Spider-Man shot out a strand of webbing and snagged it, swinging up on an arc and glancing to his left, he could see the Bell tower and could hear it ring just as the time had met it's next hour. Spider-Man let go of his webline and turned left, passing a billboard.
The Billboard displayed footage of Spider-Man, holding a big shard of glass and pointing it right at OX with the headline, "Spider-Man, Threat, Menace or Attempted Murderer"
Meanwhile at the top platform of Rutherford Tower, Shocker and Ricochet waited there, waiting for Spider-Man's arrival. The platform itself had a big rusted copper bell, being controlled by some hidden gears for whenever the next hour would begin. The floors were wooden, feeling a bit rigid but was still a solid floor, there was even a small pile of leftover crates on the floor.
Shocker glanced at Ricochet who sat on the ground, leaned up against the crates and his arms folded, "Okay Dan, he's coming up close!"
Ricochet peeped one eye open, putting his thumb up, signifying that he was ready, "Alright Mo, whenever you're ready!" He got up for a moment and then hid behind the pile of crates.
Shocker grinned under his mask, "Let's just hope we can do this buttery smooth this time."
Spider-Man could see Shocker, standing there, trying to look all sinister like, "Okay Sentry, Just stay in the Zone and hand them over to the police afterwards." Spider-Man arced his webline and eventually let go, diving towards the top platform of the bell tower.
Spider-Man executed a flip through the air before landing right in front of Shocker, narrowing his eyes on him.
Shocker giggled, "Well, Well, if it ain't thee Amazin' Spider-Man."
Spider-Man rose to his feet, "Oh can it with the jokes." Spider-Man groaned, "The whole sarcastic talkative persona is my bit anyway."
Shocker chuckled, "Well, looks like I just rewrote them rules." He snapped his finger, signalling Ricochet to attack.
Ricochet did so, charging up right behind Spider-Man and raising his fist. Spider-Man didn't even need his Spider-Sense to know someone was running behind him, so quickly he pivoted and turned to face Ricochet. He caught Ricochet fist just before it even hit him.
"You know, for such a unique person you seem pretty bland in the fighting in department!" Spider-Man swiftly jabbed at Ricochet's face, stunning him, than heaving him towards the wall. Then his Spider-Sense went off.
Jumping up, he avoided a sweep kick from Shocker. Spider-Man acted quickly, driving a knife hand strike to Shocker's stomach and kneeing him.
But Spider-Man hadn't been paying much attention to Ricochet. When he heaved Ricochet, he had quickly rebounded himself and curled into a ball, hitting the wall and going straight towards Spider-Man.
That's when Spider-Man's spider-sense went off again, jumping back and flipping in the air, he avoided Ricochet. But Shocker on the meanwhile ended up being Ricochet unintended target.
*BONG! BONG!*
The curled up Ricochet collided into Shocker, knocking him into the huge bell of the bell tower, making it ring loudly from the violent amount of impact.
But then suddenly, Spider-Man felt weak. "GAHHH!" Letting out a loud cry, he got onto his knees and clutched his head, as if everything in him was falling apart. "What's going on? Why did I get weak all of a sudden?!"
Ricochet and Shocker both got of the ground, looking at the weak Spider-Man, Shocker knew they had to strike. ""Ricochet!" He pointed at the 'weakened' hero, signalling for another attack.
"I'm on it." He ran towards Spider-Man, jumping up and raising his clenched together fists in the air.
It was at that moment, Spider-Man's Spider-Sense went off. But before he could even look up, he was met with Ricochet's attack, right to the top of the head! The blow sent Spider-Man's head into the floor, breaking the surrounding floor around him and causing him to fall through the floor and onto floor below.
Ricochet went after Spider-Man, going down through the broken hole of the wooden floor and attempting to hit him foot first. Shocker on the meanwhile decided to take the stairs and meet Ricochet on the floor below.
Ricochet was just about to hit Spider-Man, his foot getting closer and closer to his chest. But then, suddenly, Spider-Man had regained all his strength and focus and caught the foot with just one hand, inches away from his chest. Spider-Man had a firm grip on the foot, making sure Ricochet couldn't move.
Then without hesitation, Spider-Man swung his arm downward, still holding onto Ricochet's foot and sending him face first to the ground. Spider-Man jumped back onto his feet and raised his foot up, just above Ricochet's stomach. But before he could act, his Spider-Sense went off.
"Oh you gotta be kidding me!" He glanced up and at Shocker, who was about to shoot a shockwave blast at him, narrowing his eyes, he leaned his body to the left, narrowly missing the blast from Shocker. Then his Spider-Sense went off again.
Looking to where his feet was set moments ago, Ricochet had staggered to his feet and lunged towards Spider-Man. Spider-Man knew where this was headed. But instead of dodging Ricochet, he decided to go with a different, time consuming, but at the same time could prove to be effective.
Spider-Man.....just blocked Ricochet's every block. Every strikes, kicks, anything Ricochet tried to do Spider-Man just kept rejecting. The two were basically contrasting each other, one being on the offensive while the other was on the defensive.
Meanwhile, Shocker was having a hard time trying to get a blast onto Spider-Man. Because of the Spidey and Ricochet interlocked in hand to hand combat Spider-Man wouldn't stay still, either moving back a or forward with each blow from Ricochet.
Shocker grimaced, "Ricochet get outta the way!" But Ricochet was too focused on the one on one with Spider-Man. Just ignoring Shocker's request and continuing to fight with Spider-Man. Shocker gritted his teeth, "RICOCHET!"
But then Ricochet finally barked back at Shocker, pushing Spider-Man aside for a moment, "Get outta the way for what huh? So you can blatantly miss like you've been doing this whole time?"
Shocker was taken back by that snide remark, "Excuse me?" Shocker angrily arched an eyebrow.
"Oh you heard me, 'Mr. I jeopardized our first attempt!'"
Shocker protested back, "HEY! That first attempt yer goin' on about was because of a slight inconvenience with the suit, what else could we have done huh?"
Spider-Man put his finger up, "Uh hey, look not that I'm against the whole working it out thing but aren't we supposed to be, oh what's the word?" He sarcastically snapped his finger three times, "Fighting?"
They both glared at Spider-Man at the moment and yelled at him at the same time, "CAN IT WEB HEAD!"
Glancing back at each other, the contiued to bark back at one and other. With Ricochet picking up on where hey left off, "Oh I don't know, there's endless possibilities, beating him to a pulp until he dies, throwing him in a wood chipper, letting OX BREAK ALL HIS BONES!"
"Oh is this what this is all about? Because I decided to leave OX behind?"
"YES! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS IS ABOUT!" Yelling at Shcoker, he pointed an accusing finger at him, "AFTER EVERYTHING HE'S DONE FOR YOU, YOU JUST ABANDONED HIM! AND I WILL NOT STAND FOR THAT!"
Shocker was silent for a moment. Behind his mask he had a blank expression. Adjusting the knob on his gauntlet he raised his arm up and pointed it at Shocker, "Okay, you wont have to then!" He shot one stun blast at Ricochet, than adjusting the knob on his gauntlet to maximum power.
Spider-Man, who had been standing there with folded arms widened his eyes, "He wouldn't !" He stopped crossing his arms.
Shocker smirked, "Sienarra, former compadre!"
"NO SHOCKER!" Spider-Man ran forward and outstretched his arms, firing a webline from his top hand to try and stop Shocker.
But just as Spider-Man tried to intervene, Shocker raised his other arm up and let out some Vibration waves, stopping Spider-Man and his webline. Not looking at Spider-Man, he merley responed to Spider-Man's brief act, "Stay outta this Spider!"
Without any hesitation, he fired a huge Shockwave blast at the stunned Ricochet, destroying half his armor and sending him to fall onto the ground, face first.
Spider-Man's eyes widened, as he was let go out of Shocker's vibration grasp. He looked at him with anger and a bit of shock. He bent his knees and got into an offensive position, staying silent.
Shocker grinned under his mask, "Don't worry boy, you're joinin' him!" Pointing both his gauntlets at Spider-Man. Spider-Man's eyes narrowed, raising his hand up and gesturing for Shocker to 'come at him'. That made Shocker's wicked grin even wider under his mask, or so what Spider-Man thought.
Shocker went for it, not thinking twice he blasted out both a maximum charge and a stun blast towards Spider-Man. Spider-Man however ever so quickly somersaulted out of the way, dodging the blasts. The blasts created a huge hole in the wall.
"Oh Man Jameson is gonna get at me for that one!" Than, Spider-Man had an idea, something that would make the fight easier for him. "Wait! If I lead him outside than that'll mean I'll have the advantage, I always work best in open areas."
Spider-Man ran towards the hole and stood in front of it, nodded his head at Shocker, "Hey Shocker!" He scoffed, "Let's play follow the leader!" He crawled out the hole that Shocker made and then secretly clung onto the wall, out of Shocker's sight.
Shocker meanwhile, gritted his teeth, thinking Spider-Man was trying to run away. Without thinking, he started for the hole, "Ain't nobody gonna run out on me like that!"
Spider-Man watched Shocker charge out to the hole and flailing his legs mid air. "Man and he called me the dumb one!" He leapt off the wall and dived towards Shocker. Grabbing him by the waist and as the two both fell. Spider-Man than threw Shocker away, grabbing him by a webline and tugging it.
This caused Shocker to be pulled by Spider-Man. However it was only for a moment as Spider-Man drove a punch right into Shocker's face, sending him down at fast speeds, almost inhuman.
As Shocker collided into the ground. Spider-Man effortlessly landed on the ground with two feet not even striking a pose. A big crowd of civilians gasped as at the sight of Spider-Man. Everyone backed up a little, not because of the fact that Spider-Man was fighting off a criminal, but because they thought he in fact was a criminal.
"Woah it's Spider-Man!" Parents who were at the scene with children all held them back, keeping them away from Spider-Man.
"I heard he was a criminal!" said another civilian holding a newspaper.
Spider-Man arched an eyebrow, "What?" his focus that was on the task at hand was now directed to the comments made by the civilians, "After everything I've done for this city you're calling me a criminal?" Spider-Man made a very sour sneer at the end of his comment.
The civilian barked back with a scowl of his own, "Jameson always said you were a menace!" He bellowed, "I never thought he was right until what happened today!" He held the newspaper up, showing Spider-Man what the headline said.
Spider-Man's eyes widened, "Spider-Man attempts murder?!" The headline was complimented of a picture with Spider-Man attempting to stab OX with a glass shard. Spider-Man found himself gritting his teeth under his mask, "Jameson...JAMESON?!" He screamed at the top of his lungs, with that noticeable 'double voice' coming back into his speech.
He threateningly walked over to the now stunned citizen, grabbing him by his shirt and raising him up. That whole action caused the whole crowd to gasp even more in shock. Spider-Man was angrily breathing in and out before he spoke, "Jameson is just a snobby editor who has nothing better to do with his life accept blabbering about ME!"
He raised his fist up for a moment, with the intentions of punching the man out cold. But then his Spider-Sense went off, he grit his teeth under his mask, throwing the citizen out of his grasp. He pivoted to his other side and kneed Shocker before he could get a shockwave strike on him.
Spider-Man completely discarded what he was gonna do to the citizen and re-directed all his attention back to Shocker, "You're really starting to get on my nerves, Shocker!" He bellowed.
Shocker merely chuckled, pretending to get into a frantic posture he mocked Spider-Man, "ooo." That mocking coo set Spider-Man off, causing him to go full charge at Shocker. Spider-Man put up a tornado kick, only for it to be caught by Shocker.
Shocker grinned behind his mask, exempting a fierce charge out of his gauntlets which hit Spider-Man. Shocker then hurled Spider-Man towards the middle of the street.
Spider-Man's Spider-Sense went off, cocking his head up and glancing to the right, he could see a Semi-Truck come right his way. Spider-Man used his hands and launched himself into the air, leaping back and landing onto the walkway of Canterlot Park.
Shocker chased after him, running across the street. But as he was running, he stopped. Glancing to the left of his shoulder, he could see a car coming right at him. Being unlike Spider-Man, Shocker adjusted the knob onto his gauntlet so there would be less energy consumption and pointed it at the oncoming vehicle.
Without any hesitation, Shocker blasted the car with a shockwave blast. Exploding the hood and derailing the car away from the road and into a building. Shocker continued running across the street.
Making it across the road, he pointed both his gauntlets up in the air and began firing small shockwave blasts towards Spider-Man. This prompted Spider-Man to start running, trying to avoid as much blasts as he could.
Shocker winked behind his lenses for a moment, trying to adjust to the amounts of blasts his new suit could let out, "Come on boy! Stay still!" He scoffed, "These here blasts ain't gonna hurt ya! Shoot they're probably as harmless as my old retriever Seabiscuit!"
Spider-Man let out an annoyed grunt, "Man do I really sound this annoying during fights!?" He ran up towards a small bridge, jumping up onto the bottom and hiding from Shocker.
Shocker let out a huff, and then a laugh, "Haha! Boy if you think playin' chicken is gonna get ya outta this one you're dead wrong!" Spider-Man stayed silent however, waiting for Shocker to come to him.
And eventually, he did. Shocker started walking towards the middle of the park, right past the bridge. Spider-Man blended well with the shadows, not even being as so much seen by the red and gold villain. Spider-Man knew this was the time to strike.
Crawling up onto the side of the curved bridge quietly, he took a deep breath and then without a second thought, jumped towards Shocker. Stretching his arms out and opening his hands as he dived towards Shocker. Spider-Man let out an angered cry, finally getting Shocker's attention. But before Shocker could say or do anything, Spider-Man pinned him to the ground.
Shocker squirmed for a bit until Spider-Man jabbed at his face, stunning him. Using that moment he grabbed one of Shocker's Gauntlets and ripped it, along with the some of the cloth right off his arm.
Shocker's eyes widened, finally regaining his physical composition, he pushed Spider-Man off with a vibration wave from his suit. He staggered to his feet, looking at the ripped sleeve of his suit. He gritted his teeth under his mask and glanced at Spider-Man. All of his anger slowly and slowly building up.
But, somehow he managed to merley hiss at Spider-Man instead of yelling at him, "You....You just signed yer death certificate!" He pointed his right gauntlet at him, setting it to maximum power. Spider-Man got back up onto his feet and clenched both of his fists.
Shocker started shooting violent blasts of shockwave energy at Spider-Man. This prompted Spider-Man to charge at Shocker. Spider-Man jumped over a blast and raised his fist up, attempting to punch Shocker.
But then, he was hit. Hit by a maximum shockwave charge. Spider-Man's eyes closed as he fell to the ground. Not getting back up. Not even moving.
Shocker peered at the body for a moment. Should he leave it there? Should he hand him over to Big Man?
Shocker shook his head, doubting the fact Spider-Man was actually dead. "I'm gonna make sure you never come back to bite me in the ass."
He walked over towards the body laying on the ground. Picking it up by the back of his neck, clenching the 'cloth' of the suit.
He raised the gauntlet up to Spider-Man's face, charging it up with the intentions to deliver one final blow to Spider-Man. Finally ending the game of cat and mouse they've been playing.
