Chapter 3: Heading to Ponyvile part 1

Few weeks have passed since Dayman was introduced the princess’s student Twilight Sparkle as he would take part in various study sessions much to Spikes dismay but would find time to do something fun occasionally. Spike was happy to hang around with another guy and one to bestow his knowledge of comic books as Dayman became rather interested in them though would also read various books that Twilight had recommended him. Twilight on the other hand was impressed at how well he was able to analyze information very fluently to which the human would say that it was easy for him for he loved to learn new things for some odd reason. And whenever Twilight struggled to understand something Dayman would be there to help her out and she would be lying if it did not feel nice to have someone study beside her. During the first few lessons with Celestia Dayman had sometimes struggle when trying to concentrate his power through his gloves and boots, Twilight would offer some aid, but so far nothing.

We now come to the present where Dayman is currently resting near a tree after another day of training with the 3 captains even though he was doing lessons with Celestia and Twilight he still found time to train his body. Though he was not alone beside him was a large red and orange bird who is currently rubbing against his side as the bird was cooing in delight for this bird was none other than Celestia’s pet phoenix Philomena. Dayman met her when Celestia brought him to the royal garden where the bird was currently residing in a tree, but upon seeing the human the phoenix would immediately nuzzle him much to his confusion while Celestia giggled at the sight.

“Nice seeing you again Philomena.” Said Dayman as the bird continues to nuzzle on his side as she lets out a loving coo. However, she stops when she notices the look on Dayman’s face as she taps him with her wing.

“Kaw?” she squawked out as Dayman turns to her and sighs. “It’s nothing Mena I just have something on my mind is all.” He responded as he looks back at what Celestia told him when Twilight left the room.

Flashback

Dayman shakes his head for this was the first he has ever heard of it as Celestia had a sad look on her face as she sits at the edge of her bed.

“Many years ago, the kingdom had not just one ruler, but two rulers two of them being the alicorn sisters who had control of the celestial bodies for I had control over the sun while my sister Princess Luna had control over the moon and in the middle was Crimson Star who acted as the guardian to both sisters and aided us in creating the kingdom that we now live in. Unfortunately, when the ponies started to favor the day over the night the unity between the two had broken as Luna was consumed by her jealousy as it turned her into the being that many would forever remember her called Nightmare Moon. She then led a revolt against me and Crimson in the hopes of taking over the throne and plunging the kingdom into an eternal night. During the battle Crimson sacrificed his life to protect me that day after taking lethal hit to the chest while I used an ancient set of artifacts called the elements of harmony as its magical power engulfs Nightmare Moon in a pillar of light before sealing her away in her own moon trapping her there for a thousand years.” Celestia stops for a moment as Dayman stands before as she sighs and looks over toward the window.

“As we speak the seal keeping Nightmare Moon locked away is weakening and very soon my sister will return to finish what she had started a long time ago.” She said as Dayman was shocked not only because it this being was her sister but is also someone who will return one day and seek to plunge the world into an eternal night. However, he also noticed a tear fall from Celestia’s eye as she wipes hey ears off and sniffles.

“It was my fault. If I had not been so blind to see the pain my sister was going through none of this would have happened my sister would have never become a tyrant and Crimson our brother would still be alive. I had lived with that pain for many years now wishing that I could have done something to change all of it, but all I could do is to prepare for her return for I have believe there is a way to stop her.” She said as this catches Dayman’s attention as Celestia lights up her horn and projects 6 gems each in deferent forms in front of Dayman.

“These are what’s called the elements of harmony relics that me and my sister once wielded many years ago and after they were used to seal my sister to the moon they were scattered never to be seen again. For years I had believed that they would be lost forever until one day I had a vision of the elements returning however they were in the possession of 6 new bearers one of them being my student Twilight Sparkle.” Dayman then goes wide-eyed at Celestia who nods at his reaction as her horn stops glowing as she walks towards the young human and was now in front of him.

“I believe my student along with 5 other ponies will be the ones to use the elements against Nightmare Moon and hopefully free her from her corrupted state. Which is why I plan to send her and Spike to Ponyvile where I believe she will meet the new bearers and is the place where Nightmare Moon will return to.” She said as Dayman was intrigued at all of this.

“Is there anything I could do?” asked the human as Celestia smiled him as it was something that Crimson would do always offering help to every pony in need.

“That’s what I wanted to discuss with you. I wish for you to be her escort in case something happens, but since you have yet to be revealed you will be disguised as one of the guards until it is time.” She says as she summons a guard’s helmet and hands it over times him.

“I enchanted this helmet so that you when you wear it you will take the form of a pony try it on.” She said as Dayman places the helmet on his head and after places the straps on a gem on the helmet begins to shine was his body was engulfed in a golden aura as his body alters to that of an earth pony with a white coat, his feet turning into hooves, grows a grey tail, and has pony ears on his head.

Dayman was amazed at the results as Celestia was also happy.

“You look good as an earth pony and as long as you have the helmet on you my ponies will see you as a fellow pony. Also, I want you to promise not to tell Twilight about the plan once I send you 3 to the town.” She says as Dayman raises an eyebrow at that.

“Why not?” asked the human as Celestia looks at him with a serious expression.

“The elements are not something that any pony could claim they must earn them only then can they use them, and this goes for the bearers that you and Twilight will meet during the summer sun celebration. Which is why I wish for her to seek the elements on her own terms and not because she was told to find them because she was meant to. But promise me that you will protect her at all costs and that you and Luna will come back in one piece.” She said grabbing both of his hands and lifting them up.

“After the time I have spent with Twilight I have come to see her as the daughter I never had one that has become dear to me after so long. Luna is my sister and because of my mistake is the reason for her becoming a tyrant and you are all that I have left of Crimson Star so please promise me that.” She said in a sad tone to which Dayman nods as Celestia wraps her arms around him in a tight hug as the human hugs her back.

“Thank you” was the last thing she ever said.

End of Flashback

“DAYMAN WHERE ARE YOU?!!!”

Said a female voice as the nearby critters run off as Philomena does the same as Dayman waves her goodbye before she flies off. Soon a familiar looking unicorn mare comes into the scene as the young human smiles at her.

“Ah miss Sparkle how are you doing this fine day.” He said however the unicorn mare was not amused.

“Where have you been Dayman? I have been looking for you all over the castle.” asked the mare as Dayman gets up on his feet.

“Apologies miss Sparkle, I was simply resting after an early morning training session with the three captains. And well the castle gardens were the only place for me rest due to the peaceful atmosphere around the area.” He said as the unicorn mare sighed at him though she could not fault Dayman after seeing the training he was put through though a part of her wonders how he was still able to go on even after having weights strapped to his wrists and ankles.

“I guess I can’t argue with that anyway I have been looking for you because I may have found something important about Nightmare Moon. Also, you don’t have to call me Miss Sparkle just Twilight is fine now come on.” She says as the human nods at her as she proceeds to pull him forward by the hand as they made their way back into the castle, passing by the various servants and guards as they all wave toward Dayman as he waves them back with a smile.

Apparently, he had made a good impression to every pony in the castle often helping the maids and servants with their chores and often gave the guards some words of encouragement during their training. It was then that the human and mare arrived at their location as Twilight steps in and in her haste steps on a present that Spike had in hand as she continues to drag Dayman to the black board.

“Uh Twilight aren’t you forgetting something today?” Asked the little dragon as Twilight looks at the black board.

“Not now Spike I am busy with something very important.” She says waving him off as the little dragon tosses the ruined present aside and notices his adoptive sister holding Dayman’s hand.

“Why are you holding Big bros hand?” asked Spike who after spending a lot of time with Dayman had been calling him big bro as Twilight then realizes that she was still holding Dayman’s hand and immediately removes her hand from him.

“Oh, sorry about that.” She says as a light blush forms on her face as Dayman simply smiles at her.

“It’s no problem, Twilight. After all I can’t faulter you for being too focused on something. So, what is it that you found out about the mare in the moon?” he asked as the young dragon sighed at this as Twilight begins to explain.

“Well after doing some careful calculations, I have uncovered that the seal keeping Nightmare Moon will weaken and I believe that it will happen today during the summer sun celebration. I have already sent the princess a letter about my findings for we need to prepare ourselves for when she returns if we wish to prevent the land from being plunged to an eternal night.” She says as Dayman nods at all of this.

Truth be told he was impressed at Twilights findings but had to follow through with Celestia’s plan it was then that Spike burped out a later as Twilight grabs it with her magic.

“Ah she finally responded let’s see what it says.” She says as she proceeds to read what it says only to go wide-eyed as this makes the human curious as he also looks over the letter.

“Twilight get a life…..” is what he read off.

Sometime later….

We see Twilight, Dayman, and Spike boarding on a royal chariot as they sat inside before closing the door and were soon flying off to another location. Spike is looking outside of the window seeing a view of the land while Twilight sat their annoyed with her hand under her chin.

“I can’t believe the princess is making me do this. Does she not see the potential danger that is coming?” she says as Dayman gives her a sympathetic look.

“She probably has a lot on her plate now after all this is the summer sun celebration.” He responded however this did little to lighten the mare’s mood.

“Ugh but what if something happens and we are not fully prepared for it?” She says to which the human sighs before giving a serious look to her.

“You can always count on me to aid you if anything does happen. And that is a promise.” He declared as this surprised the mare for, she wasn’t expecting Dayman to help her so readily, but she would be lying if she didn’t appreciate it as she smiles a bit.

“Thanks, Dayman I really appreciate it.” She says as the man smiles at her and gives her a thumbs up.

“No problem, Twilight.” He says as Spikes then turns back to the two and notices Dayman had on some armor as he wore a metal chest plate under his jacket, metal shin guards, metal bracelets, as small sword on his left side, and a helmet that was beside him. It was then that the human lifts the helmet and places it on his head as the enchantment then proceeds to alter his appearance to that of an earth pony.

“I still don’t see why you have to disguise yourself as a pony Big bro.” said Spike as the human now turned stallion simply sighs at him.

“Unfortunately, I have yet to be revealed to the ponies of this land so to avoid any potential panic from the populace I have to disguise myself. From what Celestia has told me there hasn’t been a human in equestria for the last thousand years so seeing one after so long may cause some commotion so it’s better to be safe than sorry.” He says as the 3 felt the chariot finally land as they all proceed to exit out through the door as they set foot at their new location.

“So, this is Ponyvile I have to say it feels much greener that that of Canterlot.” Commented the human as he thanks the guys pulling the chariot as they head off back to Canterlot.

“Now then we should head to the library and see what we can find anything about how stop nightmare moon.” Says Twilight as Spike looks over to her.

“Aren’t we supposed to look over the preparations for the summer sun celebration?” he asked as Twilight sighed in annoyance at this as Dayman places a hand over her shoulder.

“Maybe we should hold off on that and focus on the preparations. That way we could have time to do some research okay?” He suggested and after some thinking Twilight agrees to it as Spike adds his part.

“Plus, the princess did say that you need to make friends too. Why not start with that mare over there?” he says pointing earth pony mare who was standing near in the center of the town.

The mare had a pink coat, blue eyes, wore yellow top with pink stripes under a pink dress, dark pink shorts, with a pink poufy mane and tail that for some reason reminded the group of cotton candy as Twilight says at this before making her way towards her and clears her throat.

“Hello, my name is Twilight Sparkle, and these are my companions Dayman and Spike what’s yours?” she asked but instead of answering her the pink mare just gasps in surprise before zipping off. Twilight and Spike are left bewildered at this while Dayman for some reason chuckles at the act.

“I must say that was unexpected I have never seen some ponies move that fast.” He says as Twilight rolls her eyes as she summons a list of things to do.

“Ignoring that we should probably focus on the preparations for the event the first thing on the list is to look over the catering which is handled by some pony by the name of Apple Jack in Sweet Apple Acres.” She says at they all walk down the path though they had some trouble trying to find Sweet Apple Acres that they had to ask for directions from one of the residents who pointed them to the right direction. After a short time, they finally arrive to their location as they arrive to what looked like a barn down the path as they arrive to the entrance where they spot another earth pony mare who was busy kicking a tree with her leg causing it to shake as some apples to fall off as they land on a basket on the ground.

She had an orange coat, freckles, blonde mane and tail in a ponytail with a red ribbon, a red checkered shirt and denim shorts with a brown belt wrapped around it with an apple belt buckle and was sporting a brown Stetson hat.

Dayman however was intrigued at her ability to kick a tree like that as a part of him wondered if she would like to spar with him as he shook his head as the group approached the mare as Twilight was the first to face her.

“Hello, my name is Twilight Sparkle it’s a pleasure to meet-...” she was cut off as the orange farm pony proceeds to shake her hand rapidly shaking the mare in place.

“Well, howdy there it’s nice to meet a new face in these parts my name is Apple Jack and welcome to Sweet Apple Acres.” Said the apple mare as she lets go of Twilight whose arm was still shaking to which Dayman proceeds to stop in place before as Twilight nods to him as he smiles at her.

“Hello, Lady Apple Jack, my name is Dayman and this is Spike. It is a pleasure to meet you.” He says as the little dragon waves at her. She then approaches the stallion as the two shake hands though instead of shaking Dayman’s arm they instead form a normal handshake much to Twilight’s annoyance. The young human did notice the mark of 3 apples on the back of the mares’ hand as he recalled that mark was a cutie mark which Celestia explained to represent a pony’s special talent.

“A pleasure to meet ya though I have never heard of any pony with that kind of name before. Also, nice grip by the way I was afraid I was going to shake you like your friend there. Sorry about that by the way I sometimes forget my own strength.” She says though the last part was directed to Twilight who simply nods in understanding.

“So, what brings ya to Sweet Apple Ares” she asked to which Twilight answer her.

“We were summoned from Canterlot to look over the preparations for the summer sun celebration. It said that you oversaw the catering.” She mentioned to which the apple mare nods at.

“Yup all of the food is freshly made with the best apples all from my family’s farm here in Sweet Apple Acres why don’t you and your friends try out some of our stuff and in meantime why don’t I introduce you to the rest of the family.” She said though Twilight was reluctant Dayman sends her a reassuring smile to which she agrees to it as Apple Jack rushes over to a bell hanging by a poll and begins to ring it.

“Soups on!” Apple Jack yelled out as various ponies came running out to the front to the surprise of the three as she began to list off everyone there. And boy were there a lot of them however three stood beside the orange mare the first being a tall red muscular stallion with freckles, orange mane and tail, a horse collar around his neck, as he wore blue overalls with a brown belt around his waist. The second was a smaller mare with a lighter yellow coat, red mane and tail, orange t-shirt, blue overalls, and a large pink bow tied in her hair, the third was a much older mare with white mane and tail, as she wore a green dress with white accents as checkered apron around her waist as they all smiled at the group.

Note: If you’re wondering why there isn’t an image of granny smith is since most of them showed how she looked like when she was younger.

Twilight and Spike introduce themselves, however they noticed their human friend was strangely quiet and as they turned to him, they notice the sad look on his face as Apple Jack, her siblings, and Granny Smith take notice of this as well as Apple Bloom walks over to him and tugs the sleeve of his jacket. And as the disguised human turns to her he goes wide-eyed to see a young human girl with red ruby hair wearing a black dress shirt with a red skirt looking back at him as he shakes his head and sees Apple Bloom in front of him.

“Mister are you okay?” asked the young mare as Dayman mentally sighs at this and forms a smile at her.

“I am fine young one no need to worry about me.” He responds however Apple Jack raises an eyebrow at his answer as Granny Smith stands before him.

“Don’t bother the young stallion he is probably just hungry here have some of our famous apple pie.” She says handing a plate with a piece of pie to him and not wanting to be rude he accepts the plate and proceeds to eat it as his eyes begin to sparkle at the shear taste of it.

“Oh man never have I ever tasted a pie this delicious.” He said as his mood brightens as the elder mare smiles at him.

“Glad to hear it sonny help yourself to any of the apple treats we have to offer.” She says however it was then that Twilight steps in.

“Actually, I think it is time for us to leave right now we have other things to look over.” She says after eating some of the food and wanted an excuse to leave.

“Do you have to leave so soon?” says Apple Bloom who pulled out the puppy dog eyes to which Twilight gives in as she and her companions continued eating.

Later on,…

We see Dayman and Spike walk along the streets of ponyvile after the feast curtesy of the apple family and behind them was a sick looking Twilight who was holding onto her belly and lets out a light burp from her mouth.

“Twilight are you okay?” asked Dayman as Twilight slowly walks over to them.

“I think I ate too many pastries. Oh, my stomach.” She says as she felt a bad ache coming as Dayman could not help but feel bad for the mare as she then glares at him and Spike.

“How is it that you two aren’t suffering like I am?” she asked envious of the human and dragon who were completely fine.

“Well, this is just a guess, but maybe it’s due to me being a dragon though I don’t know about Dayman since he is a human and all.” Answered Spike as Dayman also wondered as well after eating 10 plates of apple pies and strudels.

“By the way Dayman are you alright you looked really sad when you Apple Jack introduced her family to us. Plus, you made a weird look when you saw Apple Bloom.” Asked the little dragon as Twilight also wondered as well.

“I don’t really know. For some reason I felt a strange sense of sadness after seeing such a happy family, but the strangest was when Miss Bloom approached me and I was meet with the sight of a human girl with red hair.” Said the disguised human as Spike was surprised at this as Twilight was a bit worried about her human companion.

She knew about how he was suffering from amnesia after waking up from a comma and has been recently getting small pieces of his memories and wondered if the girl he mentioned was someone Dayman knew. It was then that she and Spike noticed the downtrodden look on Dayman’s face.

“So, what’s next of the list?” Asked Twilight who wanted to change the subject as Spike lifted the list.

“Well, the next thing on the list is cloud duty which a pony by the name of Rainbow Dash is in charge of.” He says they all look up to the sky and notice a bunch of clouds scattered all over the sky.

“Well doesn’t look like she is doing a good job especially with all of the clouds in the Sk-….” She was cut off as she was cut off as Dayman pushes her to the side as a blue blur crashes into him as both him and the blur are skidding on the ground.

Sorry for the lack of post i have been busy with stuff back on my end. and don't worry about the other story i am still working on it but i am currently working on it hope you guys like this one and will see you in the next post.
