Chapter 7: The Battle Against the Nightmare

As the group entered the old castle they begin to look around hoping to find the elements of Harmony where ever they were as Twilight was becoming more and more nervous by the second. Dayman had his sword on the ready due to a sense of foreboding that was plaguing him while also wondering why Nightmare Moon hasn’t appeared to stop them yet.

“You okay sugar cube?” asked Applejack as Dayman turns to her his hand still by his sword.

“Not really. I am getting this bad feeling ever since we entered the castle. Not to mention Nightmare hasn’t appeared to stop us which has me thinking that we are being led to a trap.” He said as Rainbow scoffs at him.

“Oh, come on dude. We were able to make it this far so don’t worry so much.” She said with confidence before…

“Found them!!!!”

Said the excited voice of Twilight as Dayman and the others rush toward Twilight’s location as they entered a room where the elements resided only instead of gems they were now covered in stone as Rainbow and Fluttershy grabbed each one and placed them in a circle in front of Twilight. Dayman seeing this then saw a flash back of two individuals a man and a female being turned into stone before seeing another being with a sinister before laughing maniacally as this caused Dayman to groan in pain as he leans onto the wall while also clearing his mind from whatever that was before joining the others.

“Wait there is only 5 of them where is the 6th element?” asked Pinkie Pie as Twilight gets onto one knee.

“The book said that once all 5 elements are together a spark will cause the 6th element to be revealed.” She said as others wondered what that meant.

“What in the hay does that mean?” asked Applejack as Twilight began to ponder on something.

“I am not sure, but I have an idea. Stand back.” She says lighting up her horn as the stones began were now coated in a magenta aura.

Applejack motioned the others the move away to let Twilight do her thing, but just before Dayman had moved, he felt the same dark presence from before as he pulled out his sword and began to look around wondering where it was coming from. It was then that he noticed a circular glow around Twilight and the elements as Dayman goes wide-eyed at this.

“TWILIGHT!!!” He yelled out as he leaps toward her as it breaks the mare out of her concentration only to the then notice what was going on as the two then disappeared from the area leaving the others with shock and worried looks on their face.

Both Twilight and Dayman reappear in a new location as they both hit the floor along with the stone elements as they quickly got up as they started to look around at their new surroundings.

“What happened?” asked the perplexed purple unicorn as the two go silent once they heard a familiar dark laugh.

As Nightmare Moon walks out from the darkness with a broadsword in hand as it glowed with a black and blue aura as Dayman gets in front of Twilight who was trembling in fear.

“Well, if it isn’t Crimson Star… I see that you survived our last fight and come to die, is that right?” said Nightmare as she points her sword toward Dayman who raises an eyebrow at being called Crimson Star.

It was then that he noticed Nightmares eyes who were glowing with a dark aura as the sight of it made the human feel nervous for some reason as he pulled out his sword as Nightmare smiles at him.

“Twilight, you focus on trying to activate the elements of Harmony. I will keep Nightmare occupied for as long as I can.” He said as he prepares himself for the fight in hand.

Twilight was worried that Dayman would get hurt again but knew that this was their only chance to stop Nightmare Moon as she nodded at Dayman as the human warrior was now facing Nightmare Moon before the two charged forward clashing their weapons together as the two battle for dominance.

“Luna, please stop!” pleaded Dayman as Nightmare looks at him with an angry scowl.

“DON’T CALL ME THAT!!!!!!!” she screamed before blasting Dayman back with projectile spell sending back a few feet as she then dashes to him.

“YOU LOST THAT RIGHT TO CALL ME THAT WHEN YOU WENT AGAINST ME AND PROTECTED THAT SOLAR BITCH CELESTIA!!!” Yelled out Nightmare who proceeds to send a barrage of sword strikes as Dayman proceeds to dodge and block each attack yet some of them manage to graze him.

He manages to parry one attack before delivering a right swing which grazes her right side followed by a left hook to her cheek and a right jab kick to the gut which sends Nightmare back. Dayman then charges forward and throws in a flying right kick only for Nightmare to catch his foot then swings the human away as he slams onto the wall before hitting the floor. Nightmare then lights up her horn and proceeds to fire a barrage of magic projectiles toward the human who sees this as he leaps out of the way while also performing various flips as each attack misses him.

Meanwhile Twilight was trying to concentrate as she charges up her horn as each of the stone elements were encased in a magenta aura, yet she finds herself glancing at the fight in hand while also praying to Celestia that Dayman would be alright.

Back to the fight Nightmare fires a beam of magic toward Dayman as the human dodges the attack before charging toward her then leaps into the air as he brings his sword down with all his might as Nightmare is forced down to her knees. Both were then seen delivering various strikes from all directions yet each as the enter area was covered in the sounds of loud clanging as neither one of the two would let up.

CLANG, CLANG, CLANG, CLANG, CLANG, CLANG, CLANG

Having enough of this Nightmare lights up her horn encasing Dayman in her dark blue aura as she levitates him from the floor as he is then sent slamming onto the wall to the left, then the wall on the right, followed by being slammed onto the ceiling before letting him go as he hits the floor hard face first. And just before Dayman gets up Nightmare then grabs him by the neck before choke slamming him onto ground while also adding pressure onto his neck as the human struggled to breath.

“Its over you have lost!” said Nightmare who was about to use to deliver the final blow before something to the side caught her eye as she spots Twilight who was charging up the elements with a lot of her magic as they each began to glow brightly.

Seeing this Nightmare Moon lets go of Dayman as she rushes over to the purple unicorn to stop her as the entire area is then engulfed in a bright flash blinding everyone in sight while also signaling the other 5 mares to where Twilight and Dayman were. But as the light dimed down Dayman then notices the shock look on both Twilight and Nightmares faces as the elements were now completely shattered as Twilight fell to her knees in despair while Nightmare cackled in wicked laughter.

“You fool, without the sixth element those stones are pretty much useless and now look what has happened. The only thing that could stop me are now nothing, but small little pebbles while I rain supreme and shall have nothing to get in the way of bringing an eternal night to the very world I stand on. And I shall start by destroying the very being that would dare use the elements on me.” She said as she charges at Twilight with her sword in hand as she delivers a downward swing to the purple alicorn.

Time seemed to move slow as Nightmare’s blade was coming toward Twilight’s head as she stood their frozen in despair at the loss of the elements of harmony. Yet all she could think about was how she had failed to even form the very spark to activate the elements for she had failed not just Princess Celestia, but all of Equestria as she awaited the hit that would end her life for dooming all of Equestria to Nightmare Moon. Seeing this something within Dayman had triggered as his horrified gaze turned into a serious look as he rushes in front of the purple who at this point had accepted her fate as awaited the hit that would end her life…

Yet no hit was made as Twilight looks up only to see Dayman blocking the attack with his sword as Nightmare glares at the human for stopping her while the purple unicorn stares the human with disbelief.

“STAY AWAY FROM HER!!! Twilight what ever you do, do not give up.” Said the human as Twilight breaks out of her stupor before looking down sadly.

“But… the elements are-…” she was cut off as Dayman responded.

“No… never think that all hope is lost.” He says before parrying Nightmare’s black before kicking her back as she lands onto her hooves as she scowls at human who stood up tall.

Even thought bits of his armor was dented or had fallen off while also sporting some bruises and cuts around his body Dayman stood tall not backing down. As he pointed his sword forward while Nightmare Moon stared back at him with hatred.

“WHY DO YOU CONTINUE TO RESIST?!! THE ELEMENTS ARE GONE WHICH MEANS THAT I HAVE ALREADY WON. SO WHY DO YOU CONTINUE TO GET IN MY WAY?!!!!” Roared out Nightmare as Dayman had a serious look on his face while also panting heavily from the damage he was taking.

“I made a promise to protect this girl with my very life as well as save you from the very darkness that has corrupted your mind and I intend to keep that promise. And if it means having to kick your ass to protect my beloved friend then so be it. I don’t care how much pain I endure fighting you but know that I will never give up nor will I accept defeat against the darkness NOT NOW, NOT EVER!!!” he said in defiance and from out of nowhere a bright flash was made blinding the 2 mares in the room before fading to reveal the human now in cased in a red aura.

It was then that the other mares arrived only to take notice of the light as they along with Nightmare and Twilight cover their eyes as it begins to slowly fade as everyone goes wide-eyed at who it was. As the human now stands there completely free of any cuts and bruises along with any armor that was now clear of any armor on his body though what came to a surprise was the mask that appeared onto his face which had the same red markings around the eye holes as the design of the mask looked like that of skull as he stares at Nightmare in defiance.

Without warning Dayman is seen charging at Nightmare with speed that shocked Rainbow Dash he swings his sword toward Nightmare who swings back only for the human to parry her attack then disarming Nightmare of her sword. Then receives a knee to the gut before receiving a kick to her left side sending her back a bit much as she rolls onto the ground before raising her head up toward the human. As Dayman moves toward her with his broad sword still in hand as he stares back at the midnight alicorn.

“If you value your life, I suggest you surrender now.” He said pointing his sword toward the midnight alicorn who glares at him in anger as she bared her fanged teeth to him before getting up from the floor as she summons a scythe on her right hand before twirling the weapon around before pointing it towards Dayman.

“NEVER!!!!!!!!!!”

Screamed out Nightmare Moon as she charges toward the human before swinging the blade of her scythe towards Dayman who backflips away from the attack before deflecting a strike to his left. Dayman swings an attack to the left only for Nightmare to block it then tries to due a downward strike toward the human as he leaps into the air before delivering a flying kick towards Nightmares face sending her back a few steps.

Meanwhile Twilight was still in disbelief at the display for she had never seen this kind of magic before or was even sure if this power was even magic at all as the other mares soon joined her all of them.

“Twilight are you alright?” said Applejack as the apple mare helps the purple unicorn onto her hooves as they all look back to see Dayman duking it out with Nightmare Moon, yet all eyes were mostly toward the red aura that was emanating from his body.

“What the hay is this, what’s going on?” asked Rainbow as Nightmare was delivering a barrage of swings as Dayman does the same to her as both of their blade collide with each other.

Clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang.

Frustrated at this Nightmare fires a beam of magic toward Dayman’s face hitting him dead as he steps back a bit before receiving a strike to his chest followed by a jab by the scythes pummel which spears him to the gut sending him flying as he slams into the wall. Charging up her horn she then fires a magic projectile towards Dayman as the area around him explodes before covering the area in smoke. The other mares looked on with horror at what happened to Dayman while Nightmare smiles darkly at finally dealing with the human yet that all changed when she saw the glow of red from within the smoke. And in the blink of an eye Dayman is seen rushing toward the midnight alicorn before leaping forward then bringing his blade down with both hands in a vertical strike and as Nightmare tries to block it the blade slices through it. Followed by a variety of strikes vertical, horizontal, diagonal, before delivering a back handed horizontal strike as Dayman was now behind her. Pieces of Nightmares armor shatters while the receiving various cuts on her body as she was reduced to her knees as Dayman stood up before flinging the blood off from his blade before turning toward her. And as if receiving a second wind her body then let out a dark aura as her eyes were now completely black as she turns to Dayman with a snarl.

“YOU INSOLENT LITTLE PEST, I WILL HAVE YOUR HEAD FOR THIS!!!” she screamed out to which Dayman got into a fighting stance.

“It’s over Nightmare why don’t you do us all a favor and surrender so we can end this nightmare once and for all.” Said Dayman to which the midnight alicorn glared at him.

“Without the elements you have no hope to stop me and even with that power of yours it won’t be enough to stop me from making this world into an eternal night.” She declared to which Dayman shook his head at.

“You’re wrong!! The elements are not destroyed for their currently standing behind me.” He said motioning toward the girls who stood behind him as they all went wide eyed at Dayman’s declaration.

Twilight was also shocked as well, but after analyzing what Dayman had said as she realizes that Dayman was right as she stepped forward now with a confident gaze.

“He’s right. The elements were not destroyed for their standing right here!” Declared Twilight as the shards of the elements began to swirl around the girls.

“Applejack who assured to me in the face of doubt represents of element of honesty. Fluttershy who tamed the manticore with compassion represents the element of kindness. Pinkie Pie who banished fear by laughing at the face of danger represents the element of laughter. Rarity who calmed a sorrowful serpent with a thoughtful gift represents the element of generosity. Rainbow Dash who could not abandon her friends for her own hearts desire represents of element of loyalty. The spirits of these of five ponies overcame every challenge you threw at us.” Said Twilight as Nightmare was trembling with fear.

“But you still don’t have the sixth element the spark didn’t work.” Said Nightmare as Dayman shook his head.

“That’s where you’re wrong Nightmare Moon.” Said Dayman as Twilight continued.

“He’s right for it did work. I realized that the spark was never a magic spell, but the spark I felt when meeting you all how much I have grown to care for all of you especially one that was able to bring me from falling into despair and I am proud to call each and everyone of you my friends.” Said Twilight as she moves toward the girls with each word while also taking a glance toward Dayman who gives her a 2 fingered salute. And it was at that moment that the sixth element had appeared before Twilight.

“You see Nightmare Moon when those elements are ignited by the spark it creates the sixth element the element of… MAGIC!” said Twilight as a bright flash was made as stone pieces that swirled around the girls formed into golden necklaces with a gem in the shape of their cutie marks as Twilight receives a golden crown with the same 6-pointed star in the middle.

Knowing what was about to happen Nightmare was about to fly off only for Dayman to grab her in place as she struggled to break free.

“You’re not going anywhere, NOW GIRLS FIRE AWAY!!!!” said Dayman as a blast of rainbow energy fires from the group as both Nightmare and Dayman were hit by the blast.

“NOOOOOO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”

Yelled out Nightmare Moon as the entire area was now engulfed in white.

As Dayman slowly opened his eyes, he finds himself in a strange white void as he looks around wondering where he was as a strange looking belt appears before him. The belt had brown leather strap with a silver center with a red 5-pointed star in the middle of it along with 4 other gems surrounding it.

“TAKE THIS BELT FOR YOUR JOURNEY IS NOT YET OVER.”

Said that nearly startles Dayman out from his boots as senses a familiar sensation coming from the belt. Raising an eye-brow Dayman places a finger on the strange looking belt only to be consumed in the same white light as before. It was then that his memory was coming back to him as past events from his past to before coming to Equestria come running back into his mind before a voice breaks him out from his funk.

“DAYMAN…DAYMAN WAKE UP!!!” shouted Twilight as Dayman sits up from the ground and was soon hugged by Twilight while the others looked relived to see their human friend was alright.

“Dayman thank Celestia your alright.” she said as Dayman hugs her back while also patting the mare on her head once the mare started to sniffle a bit.

“There, there I am alright.” he said as both got up from the ground as Dayman noticed the jewelry the girls were wearing, and the crown Twilight wore on her head.

“Wow girls I love the jewelry your all sporting. Especially you Princess Twilight.” He complimented as the mares giggled at his compliment while Twilight smiled sheepishly as her cheeks go red from being called a princess.

“Thank you, Dayman, apparently these appeared around our necks once Twilight’s element appeared.” Said Fluttershy as Rainbow Dash notices the new accessory on Dayman.

“Yo Dayman, where did you get the belt from?” asked the blue Pegasus as everyone plus Dayman looked at the new belt Dayman was sporting as it wraps around Dayman’s waist.

“I am not sure I received it after me and Nightmare Moon were hit with the el-…” he cuts himself once he realizes something important as he rushes over to where Nightmare Moon was only to find a smaller blue alicorn mare that was laying on the floor unconscious as Dayman kneels to her as he lifts her head up.

“Luna are you alright?” he says which causes the mares to raise an eyebrow as the blue alicorn mare slowly opens her eyes as she notices the human looking towards her as she goes wide-eyed at the being before her.

And as she places a hand on Dayman’s cheek as tears began to fall from the mares eyes as she wraps the human in a hug.

“B-Brother!...”

Sobbed the blue alicorn now called Luna as the human wraps his arms around Luna as he pats her head the action helping the mare to calm down as the mares were shocked at this while some of them smiled at the cute action. It was then that another being appears before the group revealing it to be Princess Celestia as the mares cheered at their princess’s return only for the princess to go wide-eyed at the blue alicorn who holding onto Dayman as Celestia approaches them. Dayman motions Luna toward Celestia as the blue alicorn had a concerned look on her face at facing her sisters after what had happened between them many years ago. Yet instead of scowling at the blue mare Celestia had a loving smile toward her sister as the white alicorn mare proceeds to hug Luna much to her surprise as Celestia was letting out tears of joy.

“Luna, little sister I am so glad to have you back.” She said as Luna goes wide-eyed as she slowly hugs her sister back as the two royal sisters were finally reunited after being separated for thousands of years.

Yet the moment was soon broken by the sound of a loud growl as creature made of pure shadow appears revealing it to be a tall skinny demon with black horns, claws, tail, and skeleton frame as it stares at the group with hatred in its eyes.

“I HAD IT I HAD IT ALL IN THE PALM OF MY HANDS UNTIL YOU ALL GOT IN MY WAY. BUT NO MATTER I STILL HAVE ENOUGH POWER TO OBLITARATE YOU ALL FOR RUINING MY PLANS.”

Roared out the creature as it lunges toward the group who go wide-eyed at the creature, but before it could get closer to them something else happens…

“DRAGON FIST!!!!”

Yelled out Dayman as he strikes the monster with right hook that was coated in a red aura as the creature stumbles back a bit shocked to feel pain from someone beneath it. Yet once it noticed the power coming out from the human the creature goes wide-eyed as Dayman approaches the creature.

“NO THIS CAN’T BE YOUR SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD. VICTOR KILLED YOU!!”

Yelled out the creature as Dayman pulls out two strange looking cannons from his jacket before firing at the black creature with various shots one to it left leg, the left shoulder, right side of the gut, right eye, and chest before falling to its knees. Once that was done Dayman twirls the cannons back into his jacket before pulling out a red crimson colored curved blade out from the left side of the jacket as he points the blade at the dark creature who stared back him in fear.

“Well guess what he failed and guess what you will be seeing him real soon…IN HELL!!” Said Dayman as he delivers a horizontal strike beheading the creature as its head hits the floor while the rest of its body does the same. It then begins to slowly disintegrate into nothing as Dayman then twirls his sword back into his jacket before letting out a sigh at this before standing up straight.

The others stood there in disbelief at the sight of the human who had took down the vile creature with ease as Twilight approaches the human who stood still and was about to call to him only for the red aura surrounding him to fade away from his body as Dayman collapses to his side. Twilight rushes over to his side as the others did the same as Dayman vision begins to blur yet he could hear the concerned voices of the girls along with the voice of Twilight who was yelling out his name before everything turns black for the human.

oh man this took forever to make and boy am i glad to have this finally out and i can now focus on the next part of the story and i hope you guys will love this for this concludes the first act of the crimson prince story.

4/2/2022 update: I realized that i wrote the ending to this chapter really fast and figured i would change it into something better i hope you guys enjoy this version and apologize for how it was the last time.
