Chapter 8: The Origins of the Hellslayer part 1

A lot has happened after the events of Nightmare Moons such as the return of Princess Celestia, the return of her sisters Princess Luna, and announcing Twilight and her friends are the new bearers of the elements of harmony. Unfortunately, Dayman was unable to witness this for he was currently resting on a medical bed in the castle infirmary after he was immediately brought to there after he had collapsed after the fight. Twilight and her friends were worried at the condition of their friend though not as much as Celestia and her sister Luna who was by his side after being bedridden for 3 days now.

Not to mention a few on witnesses stated that they spotted the human without his disguise as it spread throughout newspapers, and it soon reached the ears of the residents of Canterlot. The nobles wanted answers as well since the human had worn royal guard armor and wanted to know why the princess was hiding his existence. Having no choice Celestia but to make an announcement to the citizens of Canterlot where she unveiled the Dayman’s existence and explained how he was the one that came to their land in the form of a red star and is the descendant of the legendary hero Crimson Star. Which sent the crowd and various news ponies in a frenzy as many of them either could not believe it or were too dumbstruck to believe in such a thing. Yet Celestia was able to clarify that the human was in fact Crimson’s descendant and was going to be revealed to the public during the summer sun celebration but due the return of Nightmare Moon it never happen. And that the reason for why he is not present Celestia explained that the human is recovering in the infirmary after fighting against Nightmare Moon and has been unconscious ever since.

Some of the citizens were still skeptical of Dayman being a descendant of Crimson Star while some were excited as some of the news ponies were planning on getting an exclusive interview with the human. And it would seem that Dayman will have to deal with the press once he wakes and lets hope he has the strength to deal with them.

Meanwhile Doctor Scrubs has been keeping an eye on Dayman ever since he received that strange red energy and after bringing this information to the magic experts, yet they couldn’t make heads or tails about this power coming from the human. He had also told this to the two princesses which caught Celestia attention for she knew what it was but said that it would be best to wait until Dayman is awake to reveal what that power was. Luna who had been regaining her strength had been by Dayman’s side as the sight of him had reminded her of her brother Crimson Star and wishes for him to make a full recovery especially after what she put him through as Nightmare Moon.

Meanwhile back in Ponyvile Twilight was trying to adjust to their new home in the Treebrary yet she couldn’t stop and think about Dayman especially after the whole incident. Spike her dragon assistant was also worried about his big bro especially after hearing about him collapsing into unconsciousness after the fight with that strange shadow creature. Not only them but some of the other mares had also been wondering about Dayman and hoped that he is doing alright back at Canterlot Castle.

And as we return to the human, we now find ourselves entering Dayman’s subconscious as he finds himself in a strange new world…

Mindscape

Deep within his mind Dayman finds in a white void where two figures stood before him as the one of his left, was an alicorn male with a dark blue coat, with bat like wings, wore dark grey armor, with sashes, a sword strapped to his side, with a crown over his head as his mane and tail flowed like the cosmos itself. The second one on his right was an alicorn mare with a white coat as she wore a white dress with golden jewelry with a mane and tail that is orange with blue highlights like the galaxy itself.

Dayman is surprised at this since the sight of these two had reminded him of his two parents as the beings smiled before him.

“It great to finally meet you I am King Cosmo former king of Equestria.” Said the dark blue alicorn as the while alicorn then spoke.

“I am Queen Galaxia former Queen of Equestria and let me say that you look just like Crimson Star.” Said the white alicorn as Dayman just stood their completely wide-eyed at the two as he then then bowed before them as the two chuckled at his action.

“Sweetie there is no need to bow to us but there is something you could do for us and that’s give your grandparents a hug.” Said Galaxia as she and Cosmos proceeded to hug Dayman much to his shock but would later warm up to the hug as he wraps his arms around the two.

Once the hug was over Dayman takes notice as to where he was.

“Where am I?” he asked as Cosmos answered.

“We are currently speaking to you within your mind for this was the only way for us to communicate with you from the other world. But enough about that for what we must discuss relates to why you were summoned here.” He said as his wife stepped in.

“Do you recall the creature that appeared after the elements of Harmony were used to cleanse Luna from her corrupted state?” asked Galaxia as Dayman nodded at her.

“A shadow demon, a creature that has the ability to latch on to any being before corrupting them from the inside and upon absorbing enough negative emotion it then takes over the hosts body as a being of darkness.” Said the human as the former king and queen were surprised at him as Dayman had a serious look on his face while having both arms crossed.

“I have had experience dealing with them back in my world and had successfully cleansed my home of the darkness once I took down the Shadow lord. But I had no idea that the same evil exists here and had corrupted Princess Luna.” Said the human as Galaxia then spoked.

“That’s because that same evil that tried to swallow your world in Darkness originated here from Equestria. Many years ago Crimson Star had fought against a being of darkness that had tried to swallow the land in darkness and succeeded but was unaware that bits of its essence has scattered throughout the land. Princess Luna our daughter was one of many to have been corrupted by its dark influence and I fear that there is a dark group that wishes to continue what its creator wanted to do.” Said Galaxia as Dayman was shocked at this since no one back in his world knew where the darkness came from as Cosmos then spoke.

“As for why it came to your world it somehow discovered that Crimson had an heir residing in that world and to make sure no one would get in its way it came after you and your family, I am sorry for what happened to your parents, but I am glad that you were able to avenge them and saved your world. But your fight against the darkness is not yet over for there is still the matter of dealing with the ones residing here in Equestria and I believe that your up for the task at hand especially with all that you have accomplished back in the 3 kingdoms. But I fear that you may need to train to regain your strength as your power has yet to regain its full potential after it saved your from being killed.” He said as Dayman looked down.

“I see… Wait what about my friends and my family back home? Will I ever see them again?” he asked as both royals had a sad expression on their faces.

“I am sorry to say this, but without a connection to this world to your world you won’t be able to return home. I am very sorry for this dear, but you must understand that your presence here in this world is very important for it means saving this world from being consumed in darkness for there others like Luna who are victims of the darkness’s corruption. They had originally made their move by severing her and Celestia’s connection to the elements of harmony, but now that they have received their new bearers, I fear that they will also go after them. Which is why you will have to stand guard beside them as well as them in their quest especially with what will happen to a certain unicorn that you know.” Said Galaxia as Dayman was about to say something until the area around them glowed brightly.

“I fear our time is almost up, but before we leave, we wish you good luck on the path before you for we believe that you will do great things in this world and discover new things unknown to you back on Earth. And to also keep Celestia and Luna safe as well for our sake.” Said Cosmo as both he and Galaxia faded as the entire area was then engulfed in a bright light….

Real world

Dayman opens his eyes as he remembers what had happened as he tries to catch his breath. He then takes notice to where he was for it was the same medical room that he had awoken from when he first arrived to Equestria as he mentally sighs at this since this was a common trope he endured back in his world and was about to get off only to feel something weighing him down. He looks down and is surprised to see Princess Luna laying on top of him as her body laid on my right side as her head rested on his chest which had brought back a memory from the human’s past as his little sister had done the same thing. Though he felt that this was odd for him since this was someone entirely different even if they are technically family.

“Umm… Luna? Luna, wake up.” He said as the night princess begins to slowly open her eyes raising her head off from the human’s chest as she sat up while trying to rub away the drowsiness from her eyes.

It was then that she finally takes notice of the being before her who smiles sheepishly at her.

“Hello there…” said Dayman and as the night princesses’ eyes widen she then proceeds to wrap the human in a loving hug much to his bewilderment.

“YOUR FINALLY AWAKE!!!!” yelled out the princess in a booming voice as the entire castle shook from her mighty voice which startles not only the human but everyone within the castle as it also alerts Celestia who leaves the throne room and teleports to where her sister was.

There she sees Dayman awake and alive as he simply smiles and waves at her as the sun princess then proceeds to do the same as her sister and hug him.

“Dayman, thank the sun your alright!” said Celestia who hugs onto him tightly however, she ends up hugging him in between her bust as he also felt Luna’s grip on him tighten as he starts to turn blue.

“Girls…I can’t…breath…”

Location: Golden Oak Library

Meanwhile back in Ponyvile in the library called the Golden Oak where Twilight and her dragon assistant Spike were now living in as they try to adjust to their new home. However, the two were unable to focus on anything else for they could not help but think about their human friend Dayman. Spike who had seen the human as a big brother hoped he would make a full recovery though not as much as Twilight especially after Dayman’s strong words helped her when she had nearly lost all hope. Not only that but the other mares as well were worried about the human especially after seeing their new collapse like that after destroying the monster that had been separated from the lunar princess.

Just then Spike belches up a scroll with a royal seal as Twilight grabs it with her horn and immediately starts to read it only to go wide-eyed at what she was reading.

“Something wrong Twilight?” asked the little dragon as Twilight had a wide smile on her face.

“More like the opposite Spike I just received word that Dayman is has made a full recovery and is now heading to Ponyvile. Spike you get Rarity, Applejack, and Fluttershy to the library while I get Pinkie and Rainbow Dash here as well. Our friend Dayman is finally coming home.” She said as Spike jumped with joy as they both bolted out from the door as they ran off to get the rest of the rest of the girls.

Far away in the sky a chariot is seen flying towards Ponyvile as Princess Celestia and Princess Luna within the chariot along with the human Dayman who sat quietly while looking out the window.

“So, what has happened while I was unconscious?” asked the human as Celestia sighed at his question.

“Where to begin? I had to deal with the press after some eyewitnesses told them about you without your disguise. I had no choice but to tell them about you and your relation to Crimson Star which so you will probably have to deal with members of the press because of it.” She said as Dayman chuckled at this.

“And what about Twilight and the girls?” he asked as Luna chuckled at the mention of Twilight and her friends.

“They were worried about you since it had been 3 days since your fight against my darker half. We had also heard from our sister that Miss Sparkle had to deal with a skirmish back in Ponyvile due to having tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala which sister had sent to her.” Said Luna in a tone that was once used by ponies during the old days. As she spoke in a more normal volume unlike before as she looks toward Celestia who rolled her eyes at her sister’s comment.

“If she had only asked it would have settled the issue though that is another thing that I forgot to mention to you Dayman. You will be attending the event as a special guest for their will be other important figures from other lands that wish to meet you for, they are individuals that were good friends of Crimson Star and wish to meet his descendant.” She said as Dayman nods at her knowing full well what was about to happed for it reminded him of the things he did back on earth as he mentally wonders how the royal sisters and new friends will react once he tells them about his past after regaining his memories.

They soon felt the chariot descend before making a stop at a hard surface as Dayman looks out from the window and spots a familiar looking library/treehouse as he smiles at this.

“It appears that we have arrived. Let’s see how the others will react to my return.” Said Dayman as both the sisters nodded as he opens the chariot door and allows the princesses to exit first before exiting last.

Dayman is then seen helping Luna walk for she was still weak after being corrupted and was slowly regaining her strength as the younger sister smiles at the human for aiding her as they walk toward the library. But before they could even knock on the door a flash of light was made as Dayman turned to his left only to receive a hug from a familiar purple unicorn as she wraps her arms around his neck.

“DAYMAN YOUR OKAY!!!” yelled out Twilight as she hugged the human tightly while Celestia giggled at the sight while Luna pouted at the sight of some pony else hugging onto the human before letting him go as Twilight gives a cheerful smile to Dayman.

“Glad to see you as well Twi. By the way where’s-…” he was cut off as a pink blur tackles him to the ground.

Looking up he finds both Pinkie Pie and Spike on top of him as both were grateful to see him though not as much as Spike who was glad to see his big brother alive and well. Soon the other girls arrive with smiles to see their human friend again and well as they gathered around him as Dayman smiles back at them.

“You girls know I am not the only one here.” He says motioning to the Royal sisters as they all bowed before them much to his amusement.

However, he did notice some that were wary of the Lunar princess since she was once Nightmare Moon, as Dayman reassured them that she was not an enemy.

“Princess not that I don’t mind seeing you here, but what brings you here since the message had only mentioned Dayman coming to Ponyvile.” Asked Twilight as Celestia and Luna looked at each other before looking back at the group.

“We had arrived because Dayman reveal everything about his life before coming to Equestria and wanted me and my sister Luna to be here since we are family.” Responded Celestia as the mane 6 went wide-eyed at Dayman.

“Wait does that mean that you regained your memories?” asked Rarity as the grey-haired human nods at her as the girls were about to ask him some questions until Dayman spoke up.

“But before you all ask your questions, I suggest we get inside so that there won’t be any prying eyes for what I am about to say is pretty serious okay?” he said as the mare nodded at him before they all entered inside the library as Dayman is the last to enter as he looks behind him before entering inside and closing the door.

Soon they were all gathered in the center of the library as Dayman sat on the floor with his legs crossed as the others sat on the floor as well as all eyes were now on him as he clears his throat.

“Before we start, allow me to reintroduce myself. Hello everyone, my name is Dayman the Hellslayer, Guardian of the 3 kingdoms and it’s a pleasure to meet you all.” He said as the girls looked at him with curious gazes at what he just said.

Though what stood out the most was the mention of 3 kingdoms as Twilight cleared her throat.

“What do you mean 3 kingdoms does your world house only 3 separate nations?” asked the purple unicorn as Dayman shook his head.

“That’s not it, but I can understand why it would sound like that. Where I come from the Earth is split into 3 versions of itself which are referred to as kingdoms. The first kingdom being the world of man which is where I reside where humans live day by day however stuff like magic and beings similar to those of Equestria don’t exist. The second kingdom is the world of Arcadia an advanced civilization where technology and science are the norm not to mention it houses creatures like aliens and cyborg humans. The third and last kingdom is the world of Gaia a world where beings of fantasy and magic exist, and you could say its similar to Equestria though the only difference is that there aren’t any anthropomorphic beings there well other than the werewolves at least to my knowledge.” He said as every pony around him looked at him with wide eyes though not as much as the princesses, Twilight, and Spike.

None of them have heard of such a world especially one split into 3 though one question was on every pony’s mind was to how such a world exists.

“Dayman if you don’t mind me asking how such a world came to existence?” asked Celestia as Dayman soon dawned a serious expression as which was noticed by every pony.

“Truth be told it was never like that, many years ago the 3 kingdoms were once united as everyone lived together in harmony, but that all changed when he came into existence. He who after corrupting one of the previous guardians orchestrated a war between each kingdom by having many of them killed then pointing the blame at the people of Arcadia and Gaia. This being was called the Shadow King a monster powered by darkness who grew stronger by consuming the negative emotion of any living being thanks to the war and once he reached his full power, he would spread his dark influence on his followers. Thankfully two celestial beings were about to stop him as they sealed them away for thousands of years these two were Nocturnis and Solaria. Two powerful beings that were able to stop the war but had no choice but to separate the kingdoms into 3 separate worlds after seeing the damage the war had brought to the planet. And as the years went by all the citizens of each kingdom moved on with their lives as knowledge of their own existence faded throughout time that is until now.” He said as everyone was surprised to hear that.

To think that such a kingdom existed back in Dayman’s world it was also sad to hear about what had happened that caused the kingdoms to be separated though they soon became nervous at the last part of Dayman’s words.

“W-what happened next?” asked a nervous Spike as Dayman took a deep breath before speaking.

“Before I continue there is something else, I should mention that relates to the Shadow Lord. You see there is a legend that states that the Shadow King can only be destroyed by the one that bares the power of the red core which happens to be the same power that you all witnessed back at the castle of the two sisters.” He said presents his hand before the girls as his hands sparked with red energy as a red ball of light floats over the palm of his hand.

Every pony gasp at the sight though not as much as Pinkie, Spike, and Rarity who were mesmerized at the sight of the red orb.

“Ooh pretty.” Said Fluttershy as she and Rarity were mesmerized at this.

“That some power you got their Dayman.” Said Applejack as she and Dash felt a strong force coming from the orb.

Celestia and Luna were just as surprised as the others for it reminded them of their brother.

“That power it looks just like the power Crimson Star once used many years ago.” Said Celestia as Luna proceeds to touch the orb with her finger and feeling a familiar warmth from it.

Twilight was jotting down notes like crazy at the new information she was learning as she conjured a scroll and quill as she writes down everything that came out of Dayman’s mouth as her eyes sparkle at the sight of red orb.

“An oracle said that the one who bared the power of the red core would be the one to destroy the Shadow King for good. Not to mention that the one the red core chooses as its bearer would be one of Nocturnis and Solaria’s children.” He said as everyone was shocked to hear that the human was the son of two celestials from earth.

“However, I would like to clarify that I am not a celestial, but a regular mortal and the reason for that is due to what happened when one of my siblings went against me and the rest of the family. Along with having Nocturnis and Solaria as my parents I had three siblings a twin brother named Victor, a semi-younger brother named James, and a younger sister named Michelle things were fine until the day when the bearer of the red core would be chosen. And after it chose me out of all my siblings Victor grew angry at me for taking something that what he believed was rightfully his and tried to kill me for it. Thankfully my parents were able to stop him as had severely punished him for his actions, however things would later get worse when word about the seal trapping the shadow lord was broken and as the lord came to my family’s home there standing by him was Victor now powered by the Shadow Kings influence. Me, James, and Michelle managed to escape as both of my parents stayed behind and with the last of their strength had trapped the shadow lord and Victor within the crystal fortress on the moon. Before being turned to stone by Victor as me and my siblings escaped to Earth as my godmother MP used a spell on me and my siblings which turned us into humans to hide ourselves from the Shadow Kings radar. However, it also had the added effect of erasing our memories of our earlier years as we each resided in one of the 3 kingdoms and were taken under the care of our respected masters where we would train under them until the day when we would face the Shadow Lord and destroy him for good. It wasn’t easy for us since we had to face various enemies that were under the control of the Shadow King, but thankfully we had some help from some friends we made within the 3 kingdoms who aided us in the battle against the Shadow King. Of course, we had also had to deal with Victor who was leading the Shadow Kings forces throughout the 3 kingdoms and after facing him I was able to take him down before facing the Lord himself from tearing the world apart. After his defeat I had used the red cores power to repair the damage done to the 3 kingdoms thus ending the nightmare once and for all and avenged my parents.” He said as no one said a word for that had no idea what to say after what Dayman had revealed.

Fluttershy and Pinkie became upset as they proceeded to hug Dayman after he had revealed what had happened to his parents and what he had went through when facing against the lord.

“I am sorry that you had to go through that Dayman I can’t imagine what you had to go through during your time back on Earth.” Said Fluttershy as Pinkie said her piece.

“Yeah, and I will throw you a *you saved the 3 kingdoms and stopped the Shadow meanie party* to congratulate you for saving your home.” Said the Pink mare as Dayman smiles at her.

However, a question brewed within the mind of Celestia once Dayman mentioned about what had happened to him and his brother.

“You mentioned how you went against your brother but wasn’t there any way for you to make amends especially when you mentioned that he was under the Shadow Lords control?” asked Celestia as Dayman shook his head at her.

“I did try to reach out to him in the hopes of returning him to the side of good, with the belief that was under the control of the Shadow King, but I was wrong. After I was captured after being led to a trap, he proceeded to torture me and admit to me that he intended to release the Shadow Lord because he wanted me and the rest of the family to suffer for going against him. He even told me that he had hated me for taking the red core even though it chose me and believed that I was nothing but an insect that deserves to be squashed. He is also the one that left this on me.” He said as he lifts his shirt to reveal the large scar on his lower abdomen as the girls were shocked to see it as Rarity and Fluttershy covered their mouths in disbelief as Dayman lowered his shirt down.

“He stabbed his hand through my abdomen in the hopes of turning me into one of his minions. Unfortunately for him, it didn’t work as the rage within me took over and after breaking free from my restraints I proceeded to beat the life out of my traitor of a brother but not before leaving him with only one arm.” He said in a cold tone which as he soon noticed the look of worry and fear on the other girls though not as much as Celestia and Twilight at the dark look in Dayman’s eyes as Luna pats Dayman on the back which seems to calm him down.

“Was that really necessary Dayman?” asked a worried Rarity as Dayman let out a guilty sigh.

“I did agree my actions were extreme, but at that point all I could feel at that moment was rage as well as the man responsible for my families suffering. Though I should have ended him right then and there especially after what he tried to do after what he tried after defeating the Shadow Lord. Me, my siblings, and our friends were all in the roof of a skyscraper when this all went down as Victor soon appeared before us with a bomb strapped to his chest and a detonator in his single hand keep in mind, we were all weak from the fight as he had us cornered. So, I did the only thing I could think of which was to tackle him off the edge of the roof as we both went hurdling down to the ground as I closed my eyes as everything went white for me.” He said as every pony could not believe what had he just said.

“So, the reason why you appeared with your body heavily damaged was because of him?” asked Celestia as Dayman nods at her.

He was then hugged by Luna as Pinkie and Fluttershy did the same as the others looked heartbroken after hearing what had happened between with Dayman and Victor. This also hit Twilight and Applejack the most as it reminded them of their older brother and how close they are to them so to hear about two siblings hating each other to the point of killing each other was unheard of not to mention unbelievable. Celestia and Luna were also affected by this for it reminded them of what had happened to them many years ago though the only difference is it ended with Luna being freed from her corruption while Victor sought to end Dayman’s life no matter the cost.

“I am sorry that you had to go through that.” Said Celestia a Luna and the other mares let go of Dayman as he nods at Celestia.

“Its no problem Celestia. Though this does bring us to something that I wish to discuss with you along with everyone else in the room here.” He said as every pony in the room had their eyes on him.

“While I was unconscious, I met the two previous rulers of Equestria named King Cosmo and Queen Galaxia who told me about a great evil that was looming over the land of Equestria. The same dark force that tried to take over my home that originated from this world and the one that Crimson Star had fought against many years ago and was believed to be dead until it was discovered that remnants of the darkness were scattered throughout the lands. And it was also the same dark force that had corrupted Luna in the form of a shadow demon as it latched onto her and filled her mind with negative thoughts to achieve full control over her and once it did the demon than took over her body and turned her into an entirely new being. And I believe there are others out there and I fear that they will be coming after each of you now that the elements of harmony are back and are now with new bearers.” He said as everyone grew wide-eyed at the news as Celestia and Luna could not believe that Dayman was able to speak to their parents though the mane 6 were getting worried once he mentioned how their will be others who will be others like that creature out there as Fluttershy began to shake with fear.

“Why in Sam Hill would those monsters be after us?” asked Applejack who both worried and curious at the whole thing.

“Other than the red core the power of the elements of harmony was seen as a great threat to the darkness which is why they went after Luna in the hopes of severing any connection to the elements until now. Which is why I will be staying here for the foreseeable future.” He said as mane 6 were surprised at this though Luna had a sad look on her face.

“Are you sure about this Dayman?” asked Celestia who was secretly worried about not being able to see the human like her sister as Dayman nods at her.

“I am Celestia, from my experience I can tell that these monsters will stop at nothing to get the elements not to mention they will resort to using any pony close to the girls just to get to them and not to mention the many innocent lives that will be caught in the crossfire.” He said though Celestia and Luna were reluctant to let Dayman stay here instead of the castle but with the threat of more monsters like the shadow demon running amok they had no choice to agree. As Dayman smiles at her.

“Don’t worry I will be sure to visit you and Luna whenever I can now there’s just one more thing that we should discuss…which is where I will be staying here in Ponyvile.”

Update 6/1/2022: i recently had to alter the name Shadow Lord to Shadow King since that was how the enemy was called but i forgot and called him the Shadow Lord by mistake hope you guys understand.
