Fluttershy and Twilight Sparkle had arrived at their hotel in Manehattan! They had a great weekend planned and they knew just how to do it! When they arrived at their room, they were so excited! Not even Rainbow Dash, Cozy Glow, Starlight Glimmer, or Discord would’ve afforded great luxury or more than comfortable furniture like this! When they entered their room, it was like going into a whole new world. Both ponies couldn’t be more excited than ever to savour this one moment!

“I can't believe it!” Twilight said as she was jumping on her bed with excitement. “We're here!”

“Ooh, chocolates on the pillows!” Fluttershy squealed. “They don’t usually serve chocolates on our bed when we stay at a hotel in Manehattan! I love that!”

“Oh, you should live with Pinkie Pie.” Twilight said, knowing that her friend LOVES sugar and chocolate and would want nothing else than that. “Roll-os everywhere.”

“Come here.” Fluttershy said to her lover. Twilight did and they kissed. They broke the kiss and Fluttershy decided to get something for her friend. “Okay, be right back.” She went to the bathroom, while Twilight plopped on her bed and turned on the TV. She was excited to see that her favourite movie, “Stay Tuned” was on! She was especially loving the cartoon scene where the two mice were trying to evade a giant mechanical cat. She even laughed at the part where the American Gothic picture screamed and the mice hopped out of the picture while the cat just burned the house inside the picture. She wished Starlight was here to see this with her. She would have a good laugh with someone who not only loved movies like this, but also would love to go to other alternate realities where they were like this!

“Oh yes!” Twilight said as she was watching the part where the mouse Roy Knable was trying to write a letter to get a mechanical dog to get rid of the Mecha-cat. “Fluttershy, get in here! There's a funny movie on! It’s ‘Stay Tuned’...my favourite!”

At that point, Fluttershy came out of the bathroom, carrying a glass with some red smear on it. “We're switching rooms.” she told her.

Twilight saw the glass and was shocked. “Oh Sweet Celestia, they gave us glasses!” She tried to shy away from the sight.

“No, they gave us glasses with lipstick on them!” Fluttershy said frustrated. “I mean, if they didn't change the glasses, who knows what else they didn't change.” Twilight just glared at her. “Come on sweetie, I just want this weekend to be perfect, I mean we can change rooms, can't we?”

Twilight felt that she could change rooms right now, especially since her movie had gone to commercial break. “Okay, but let's do it now though, because my favourite movie just went to commercial break!” She gathered her bag to switch rooms. “Boy, I hope my favourite movie is still on when we get to our new room!” She said. She really wanted to see that movie and hoped it would still be there when they got to their new room, hopefully.

The hotel clerk showed them to their next room, and opened the door. “I think you'll find this room more to your liking.” he told them.

“Okay, great.” Twilight said and turned the TV on to “Stay Tuned” and she made it to the part where the Knables were now French spies like on a French version of “Undercover Boss” and if they got caught, they would be guillotined.

The hotel clerk caught sight of the movie, and watched it with her. “They say the Knables have got only got one hour left.” He said.

“One hour?” Twilight said in disbelief. “We still got a lot of Channel-chasing chaos to do!”

Just then, Fluttershy came back in the room. “We're switching rooms again.” she said to her lover.

Twilight was shocked. “What? Why?” she asked. She wanted to watch more of “Stay Tuned”.

“This is a garden view room, and we paid for an ocean view room.” she seriously said to her friend.

“Our last ocean view room was unacceptable to you.” the hotel clerk tried to say to the Pegasus.

Fluttershy rolled her eyes. She walked over to Twilight. “Excuse me, umm, can I talk to you over here for just a second?” she asked impatiently.

“Uh-huh.” Twilight was still mesmerized by the movie that she didn’t even pay attention to what Fluttershy was saying.

This, however, made Fluttershy more flustered and frustrated. “TWILIGHT!” She shouted angrily.

The alicorn this time turned to face her while the movie went to commercial break again. “Yeah?” She asked her friend.

“Look, these clowns are trying to take us for a ride and I'm not gonna let 'em! And we're not a couple of suckers!” Fluttershy said in frustration as they couldn’t find a perfect room that could work for their weekend getaway!

“I hear ya, Helen!” Twilight said jokingly. “But look, all these rooms are fine okay? Can you just pick one so I can watch-I mean, have a perfect, magical weekend together with you?” Fluttershy just rolled her eyes in frustration as she wanted a good room but Twilight wanted to watch her favourite movie.

The two had changed rooms yet again, and when they got there, they were finally at a room they liked. Twilight was eager to get back to her movie, so she turned the TV on to see if it was still on!

“Okay, this one I like!” Fluttershy said with relief as they had finally found the perfect room for their weekend.

“Nothing! It's over!” Twilight saw that the movie was over, and was ticked off at that. “Dammit! This is regularly scheduled programming!”

“Can we turn the TV off? Okay?” Her lover asked as she flew over to her to get her attention. “Do we really want to spend the entire weekend like this?”

“Oh, I'm sorry, am I getting in the way of all the room switching fun?” Twilight asked her friend snarky and a little angry that she had missed the rest of her favourite movie that she wanted to see.

Fluttershy gasped. “Hey, don't blame me for changing rooms tonight!” She retorted back at Twilight.

“Oh, who should I blame?” Twilight shot back. “The nice bell pony who had to drag out luggage to 10 different rooms?!”

“I don't know, how about the idiots who thought they could drive from Sweet Apple Acres to Las Pegasus on a half a tank of gas! Oh, yeah!” She shot back as well. “THAT WAS FLIM AND FLAM!”

Twilight was shocked at what her friend just said. So, she calmly spoke to her while her wings just sprouted up. “Do not speak ill of the dead.”

“We're supposed to uh, be spending a romantic weekend together, it-it, what is the matter with you?” Fluttershy was still frustrated that Twilight wanted to watch a movie when they could be getting a fun weekend getaway together.

“I just want to watch a little television.” She said calm and peeved. “What is the big deal? Geez, relax mom.” She said jokingly.

“What did you say?” Fluttershy started to ask, pure rage brewing up in her voice.

Twilight was now a little frightened at her friend’s anger, so she replied back calmly and nervously. “I said, ‘Geez, relax Fluttershy...’.” She giggled nervously. She had already spent the first few minutes of the weekend watching TV, but already, Fluttershy was getting mad at her! Twilight wanted to just switch over from watching TV to having fun with her friend. She wanted Fluttershy to be happy, and she did NOT want to see what would happen if Fluttershy got mad at her. Celestia forbid she was a little nervous to wonder if she DID step out of line! She did not want that to happen, that’s for sure!

And that’s day 1! Twilight watches a movie and Fluttershy was frustrated that they couldn’t find the perfect room! Will things be better for them? Find out in the next day! I threw a little reference to the 1992 movie, Stay Tuned. I just HAD to!
