Peanut

Shorty and Kyden were n their way to Ponyville in one of Princess Sophia's carriages. Pulling them were pegasus royal gaurds. Unlike Celestia's grey and white guards, Sophia's gaurds were a color of the rainbow. Red is for the most relibale gaurds while purple were for trainees. These two were yellow and were looking for a spot to land in the village. Shorty hang his head out of the carriage, looking at what he thought was lost hope.

"Chin up Shorty, this town may not be that bad." Kayden tried to look at Shorty's face but the stallion turned.

"Well, i'm still against it." Kayden nodded his head then toppled over Shorty. The carriage was landing into the town square of Ponyville. The two exited and said their thank you's to the guards. Kayden looked around and found what he was looking for.

                "Look! There's a pony right there!" a black and white mare skipped to the stallion. Her eyes were a pretty blue and was as tall as Shorty's chest. The markings on her back slid down under her girth and her mane ad tail were high and wavy. Kayden pushed him closer to her, where she looked at him straight in the eye.

"Just say hi." Shorty gulped.

"Hello?"  The mare screamed then zoomed past them in a black and white flash.

"I sure didn't expect that." Shorty walked off to who knows where.Kayden signed and slumped his shoulders.

             The two walked down Ponyville's cobblestone street, getting a good look at the town's fountain.

"Before we go to the library, can we get a look around town?" Shorty rolled his eyes as if it was a stupid question.

"Kayden please. I need to do some studying on Equestria." When he turned around, he was greeted by big brown eyes, little puppy dog eyes. "Oh, all right!"

"Good!" Kayden whipped out a map of Ponyville with X's and O's on it. " 'Cause I got a map of the village and I really want to see some of the sights!The closest thing right now is Salty Nut Pastures."

               Shorty and Kayden walked down the orchard filled with different types of nuts. Los Pegasus is an ugly wasteland compared to the fields of orchards.

"I gotta say Kayden,this is quite a sight."

"It says that Salty Nut started as a competition against Sweet Apple Acres to see who can sell more produce but they made a draw and became close friends."

"YIP!YIP!YIP!" The two looked over the bush and saw a chestnut stallion racing through the trees. He kicked the trees with his hind les then tipped his hat. Suddenly, with a shake of the bushes, something attacked Shorty. Kayden started to bark at the thing, then he stopped. An austrailian shepard tackled Shorty, and was licking him to death.

"Cooper! Get off that Stallion!" The dog obeyed then ran into the barn. The country stallion helped Shorty up. "I'm so sorry t'ere sir." The stallion harshly gripped Shorty's hoof and shook it like a rattle. " Name's Peanut, a pleas're making your 'quaintence...uh.."

"My name is Sisque Shuttle." Shorty did his best to speak his name clear.

"Sisque Shuttle, quite the name. Got anythang shorter?"

"Shorty." Kayden couldn't help but giggle at Shorty's face, terror. Peanut finally let go of his hoof. It felt like the world stopped as his hoof throbbed.

"My name is Shorty, and I am new to this town. This is Kayden and he really wanted to see your farm. Now I see you're doing something important so we'll be on our way!"

Trying to escape, Peanut stood in front of the jumpy horse.

"Not before meeting the family!" Peanut's stripe really brought out the happiness in his green eyes, so Shorty gave in.

"I guess we could as long as it doesn't take too long." Before Shorty could finish his sentence, Peanut kicked dust and rang a dusty, old bell that rang through the orchard.

                 "SOUP'S ON EVERYPONY!" Shorty and Kayden ducked for cover as a bunch of horses pushed their way to the long picnic table in front of the barn. Without notice, Shorty and Kayden we pulled and set onto chairs that were the centers of the table. "Now, why don't I introduce you to the Nut Family." Peanut gestured to all that colorful family members he had.

"Thanks but we should really be going." One family member set a plate of cupcakes topped with walnuts.

"This here is Beechfavus." After him, more family members set plates of goods. "Cashews,Breadnut,Brazil Nut,Walnut,Almond,Coconut,Pistachio,Chilean Nut." Peanut took a big breath and introduce the family he lived with. He pointed to a big, draft-like stallion with a yellow coat and red mane.Freckles dominated his face. "Chestnut." Then pointed to a liver colored filly with a yellow braided mane and tail holding another nutty pastry. "Paradise Nut and..." He ponited to a little mare that was just skin and bones. Her mane was silver in two buns like her tail. Glasses were place on her gentle nose. "Granny Hazelnut.

            Wake up Granny, we got guests." The old mare woke up and made her way to the table as slow as a snail. She was saying something but no one understood her. " I'say they're already part'f the family." Shorty's pupils shrank and had an uncertain look on his face.

"Well, I guess we really should be going." Reluctant to leave, he was greeted with more pleading eyes.

"Can't you at least stay for pie?" For added measures, Paradise Nut stuck out her lip. Shorty looked at her, then the sad family faces, then Chestnut and Peanut holding Granny Hazelnut.

"Fine."
