The Vault Hunters took a bus that was supposed to take them on a return expedition to Pandora, because Brick had forgotten something back at the Vault. But in it's place, the bus ends up stopping in Equestria. They concur to set out for the fortune there, and try to make the best out of a bad situation. Nothing goes according to plan and everything turns to shit when Discord ends up breaking free again, declaring war and chaos on all of ponykind. He brings forth a team of some of the Vault Hunters old foes. The Vault Hunters are stuck there, fighting Discord to save all of of Equestria.
