Ponyville, Equestria

Well, tonight was Nightmare Night, the first Equestrian holiday since you were here. You were a little exited, just to see how it is different from Halloween, and to see if anyone here knows how to scare you. Costume wise, you just wore your sniper armor and said you were a futuristic soldier.

But Luna did ask a few nights ago "But aren't futuristic soldiers a thing where you come?" But you did know that someone would at least ask that question once, so you already had a response planed.

"Yes, but futuristic space soldiers do not exist here," you said.

"They do now," Luna said. "And I'm glad they do." She gave you a hug after saying that.

But enough with the flashbacks. You did want to hang out with Luna, but she had a job to do. You were walking around when your first scare attempt happened. "Boo!!!" A random kid said jumping out from behind you.

You turned around and said, "Nice try kid, but I saw you try to sneak up on me for fifteen minutes."

"How?" He said, very surprised.

"Just have skill in noticing people," you said. "I wouldn't be offering 100 Bits if I didn't know what I was doing."

"Yeah your right," the kid said as he walked away. After walking around, you eventually found Twilight and her friends.

"Hey," you said as you walked up.

"So, y/n, what are you doing this Nightmare Night?" Applejack said.

"Nothing much," you responded. "Just seeing what this event is all about and trying not to be scared."

"Scared of what," Rainbow Dash said in a mocking way.

Then a kid jumped from the roof of the house you were by and yelled "Boo!"

"That is what I'm trying to not be afraid of," you said, not even acknowledging the kid's existence. "I'm paying 100 Bits to the first person who manages to scare me. Most of the attempts where lame, but I'm waiting for the older kids to notice, cause their plans to scare me might be more interesting."

"Wow, that actually sounds pretty fun," Rainbow Dash said.

"Let's go play the games," Twilight said. You all went over to the carnival games, and Applejack didn't seem to like the people in the dart game booth.

"You two," She said angrily at the two people running the game. "What are you doing here!"

"Just trying to make money, ma'am," one of them said.

"Who are these guys?" You asked Applejack.

"These are the Flim-Flam brothers, and whatever they show up to, they ruin," she said." "How hard is the game?" You asked them.

"I bet 100 Bits you can't beat it, one of them said.

"I'll make it two hundred Bits, the other one said.

"And I'm allowed to stand wherever I want?" You asked.

"As long as its outside the booth," one of them said as he handed you the darts. It was a simple balloon pop game, three darts, three balloons. But you knew it was rigged. You examined each balloon carefully and concluded the weakest point for each was on the right side. So, you stood on the right side of the booth. Then you winded up and threw it as hard as you could. The dart went straight through the balloons and halfway into the wall. Both Flim-Flam brothers looked surprised that you beat their game.

You walked over handed them the extra two darts you had and said, "pay up."

They handed you the two hundred Bits and one of them said "Mares and Gentle colts, we have found someone stronger than Earth ponies themselves." That drew attention, a lot of attention. You than said in response.

"That's not true. I didn't throw the dart that hard. I just threw it at the weakest point so they would pop easily." The crowd seem impressed over your planning skills and walked away.

Then It was time for the main event. It was Zecora telling that odd story of Nightmare Moon going to eat you if you do not sacrifice candy to her. You were impressed over the wide variety of spells you used to tell it. But then, coincidentally, Luna, looking like Nightmare Moon, appeared out of thin air (it's like this was planned out). Of course, the crowd ran away screaming, everyone except you. If you did you would lose 100 Bits to Luna, and like you were going to let that happen.

"Hey," you said to her.

Lose the hundred Bits yet?" Luna asked.

"Nope," you said. "There has been some attempts, but they all were not planned well."

"Cool," she said. There was no one around, so Luna didn't have to stay in character.

"That looks fun," you said.

"What looks fun?" Luna asked, confused on what you were trying to say.

"That you scare everyone," you said. "That looks fun."

"So, you're the type of person who enjoys scaring people," Luna said. "I am too." So, for the rest of the night, Luna did her Nightmare Moon act, while you watched as people failed to scare you.

Caterlot Castle, Equuestria

You were heading to the training room, because it was a Tuesday, so you and Luna had that combat training. You had great lesson in mind because it was Nightmare Night. So, you walked into the training room, and saw Luna just sitting there, with her back to the door. She didn't turn around when you walked in. You thought she was just not paying any attention, so you decided to sneak up on her. Big mistake. When you tapped on her shoulder, she didn't move for another three seconds, until, suddenly, she jumped on you, in a murderous kind of way, and tried to pin you down, like she trying to kill you. You saw her face and noticed it was different. Way different.

You instantly had so much fear crawl through your body that you were going to die, that you reached for you shoulder where you combat knife would have been if you were wearing armor. Luna, or at least that's who you hoped who the attacker was, saw that you where instinctively reaching for your combat knife and got off of you. When her face went back to normal, you saw that it was just Luna trying to scare you.

"Well I guess I owe you 100 Bits," you said, your voice shaky from all the adrenaline in you veins.

"I'm sorry y/n," Luna said as she hugged you. "I shouldn't have done that. I used what you hated the most, death and losing someone you care about, to scare you."

"It's fine, I should of saw that coming," you said. "Ironically this relates to our lesson today about exploiting your opponents fear in attempt to use psychological warfare against them. Let's begin."
