Introverted Love

Midnight Comfort

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Three weeks had passed since I met Fluttershy and outside of when we had classes, were studying or sleeping, Fluttershy and I had already become inseparable. I wasn't sure whether it was because of our introverted nature and we only really felt comfortable together but one thing was certain, we had become very close friends and I could feel us becoming closer with each passing day. Now there hadn't been any indications that anything beyond friendship was developing between us but what mattered is that we had been spending a lot of time together.

It was on a Friday night, close to midnight when I got a phone call, a call that really irked my roommate,

"Ugh, who is this."

"Luke, it is Fluttershy, can we talk somewhere private."

"Yeah, just meet me outside the entrance to the dorm."

"Alright, I'll see you soon."

"See you soon."

I had turned my desk lamp on to get dressed but my roommate would be less than thrilled. He knew about my closeness with Fluttershy as she had called a couple times really late before just to talk. He grunted, "Would you hurry up and turn that off? I know that Fluttershy girl needs you but please, I need my sleep."

I replied, "Give me just a minute."

Once I had got out to the entrance of the dorm, I found Fluttershy with tears running down her face. I approached her and asked, "Fluttershy, what is wrong? Why are you crying?"

She gave me a tight embrace and began to cry, "It is my roommate. She was making fun of me for being an introvert and only getting to know you." Her cries became louder as she continued, "Then she started asking how good you are in bed and vowed to take you away from me."

I returned the embrace and replied, "She did what?" I began to massage her back and continued, "Your roommate sounds horrible but don't worry, you're the only one I want to spend time with. If she tries approaching me, I'll give her a piece of my mind."

She pulled back and gave me a smile, "I know. That is why you are such a good friend." She pointed towards a bench and asked, "Do you think we could just sit together for a while, even being with you will make me feel better."

"Of course we can Fluttershy," I replied "you know I'll do anything for you."

We went over to the bench and sat down. She immediately leaned up against me and put her arm around me. I returned the favor and she put her head under mine. We turned towards one another and joined hands before pulling her closer to me. Her and I were great friends for sure but I was beginning to feel so much more for her, I was beginning to fall in love with her but I was scared to bring it up. I didn't want to lose her friendship in the event me asking her about being my girlfriend would drive her away, especially in the state she was in.

I could feel that she was content when I heard her say, "Mmm....you're such a good friend Luke. You're the best friend a girl could ever have."

I replied, "Well you're a great friend too Fluttershy, the best friend anyone could ever have."

I could tell she was getting a bit more tired so I pulled her closer to me. The closer I held her, the more heat I could feel radiating from her. Soon she began to squeeze my hand tightly and then I heard something I never expected, "Mmmm....you know something, I could sit here with you holding me forever."

I returned the squeezing and replied, "I could hold you forever too Fluttershy, you know I'll always be here for you, no matter what."

She let out another hum before moving her hand down to my leg and massaging it. I wasn't sure what was going on but I did know that it was things that friends likely shouldn't do, especially outside! I pulled her hand up and said, "Fluttershy, please don't. I don't know where that would lead and we can't do things like that outside."

Fluttershy sighed, "I understand, I just wish we could go somewhere where we would have more privacy."

I began to think of where we could possibly go to have some privacy, away from campus. I couldn't really think of anywhere that we could go so I made a suggestion that I had a feeling she may not like, "Fluttershy, how about we try to get some sleep and then we can spend the whole day together tomorrow."

She reacted surprisingly well to the suggestion, "Alright, that sounds good." She gave me a blush and a wink and continued, "I like that, all day!"

We joined hands and headed to our dorm rooms to get some sleep. As we parted ways, she gave me one more smile and repeated, "All day, us together all day!"

She then whispered so low I couldn't hear what she said after that but I didn't think too much of it. The main thing on my mind was that I was able to comfort her and hoped that her roommate would simply drop it when it came to her introversion and her bashing her over only getting to know me.
