Living up

NOW it begins.

13 days after Discord found his insanity (yep, I skipped time again).

Black was helping Applejack at the farm. He didn't only prove he wasn't just as big as Big Mac, he also proved he was just as strong. He was currently carrying a basket with appels.

"Hey doc?" Applejack asked, sounding worried.

"Yes?"

"Are ya sure Twilight's gonna be alright?" She said, worry clearly on her face.

"I think so. I'm not going to give you any false hope though. The foal's growth is insane and he's using almost all the vitamins and nutrients in Twilight's body. I gave her another dose one hour ago, but she's literally being drained." He said with genuine concern.

"That's bad, right?" She was only more worried now.

"For the foal? No. For Twilight? Yes. But she should be due within four days."

"Tell me, why didn't ya lie?"

"Let me tell you about my life a few years back. I had a clean record. Everypony that I was supposed to help made it through. I became arrogant and a fool. I said I could help anypony and that I could cure every illness."

"And?"

"Thanks to my clean record others started believing it too. One day I got a pony with what they call 'The Green Hoof'."

"What?"

"It's a rare illness that only effects you when you're under twenty years old. It acts like a parasite and spreads like a virus. Once you're infected with it you only have fifteen days left to live if you're not cured."

"That sounds horrible."

"That's not even the worst part. Only in the last five days you get simptons. Itching eyes, dizzyness, headaches. On the last day you see the final simptons: you can see roots under the victims skin and behind the eyes. A bit before death plants start growing through the skin and out of the eyes and mouth. I told her she was going to make it, but I couldn't save her. I did everything I could but it wasn't enough." Tears were now in his eyes.

"Ahm... sorry ta hear that."

"And her family blamed me of her death. And you know what? They were right! I was too arrogant! I didn't even think like a real doctor should! That's when I decided to leave to somewhere else and to never give false hope again." He was now clearly crying.

"Well ah apreciate it when somepony tells me what's really going on."

"Thanks."

"And sumthing else: what happened to yer mane and tail."

"I'm sorry, but that's personal."

Meanwhile at the library.

Twilight was exhausted. Black had told it was because the foal was growing so fast and was using all the nutrients. He had also told her she should be due in four days. Spike had gone off to help Rarity to make some clothes for the foal.

'Why can't I concentrate on reading? Maybe I should take a relaxing shower to calm down and I don't think stress is good for me or my foal.' She slowly got up and walked towards the bathroom. She turned on the shower and laid down under the stream of water.

'That's better. Huh, it's kind of strange how easily I accepted pregnancy and just went with it. Maybe being a mother isn't so bad. I wonder what he'll be like.' She smiled a bit at the thougth.

'Hey, that's odd. The water is turning pink. Wait, that's blood!' She felt a pushing feeling inside her womb.

'No! I need help!' She tryed to get up but she couldn't move anymore.

"Hnnn! Hnn!" She started pushing and her breathing became heavy and uncontrolled. When she felt the pressure leave she started losing consciousness. Just before she lost consciousness completely she heard a foal cry.

"Waaahh! Waaahh!" Anarchy was confused, scared and amazed at the same time and did the obvious: cry. After a while he stopped crying and looked around. For the first time in months he could actually see.

'So this is outside! It's so bright! So colourfull! So... cold and wet.' He felt water pouring down on him. He also felt he was lying against something soft. He turned around and saw a purple unicorn lying next to him.

'Is that my mommy?' He crawled towards her head to get a good look of her.

'She's pretty!' He saw that she was asleep.

"Maba! Aga? Bwaaa!" He trieed to say: "Mommy! Huh? Aargh!" but he was to young to be able to actually talk.

'Not fair!' He looked around and saw another pony in the wall. He touched the wall and saw that it was actually his reflection. 'Hey! I'm a pony too!' He then heard rumbling come from his stomach.

'What was that? Oh wait, I'm hungry! How come I learn so fast?' His mind then started working again and he remembered (I'll explain that later) that female ponies give milk. He crawled over to his mommy and started drinking.

Meanwhile.

"Twilight! I need your opinion on these little suits I made for your foal!" Rarity entered the library, Spike following her while carrying the suits.

"Hey Twilight! We're back!" Spike said after hearing no response from Twilight.

"Twilight?" Rarity walked upstairs, being partly confused and party curious.

"Darling? Where are you?" When she walked past the bathroom she stopped, hearing the shower.

"Twilight, are you in there?" After getting no response she opened the door and walked inside. When she found Twilight her eyes went wide from shock and then excitement.

"Oh! I need to get the girls!" She ran out the bathroom passing Spike.

"What was that about?" He walked in the bathroom to see Twilight sleeping under the shower with her foal snuggled up to her.
