The Phoenix Knight

“Alright, here’s your new schedule!” The secretary exclaimed before giving Adamant his new schedule.

“Thanks” Adamant replied before looking at his schedule and seeing that the magic basics class has become his second class while the combat magic class had become is seventh class.

“You’re welcome but if you need help finding the magic basics class then let me know!” The secretary added.

“Thanks, but what about combat magic class?” Adamant asked as he tucked the schedule into his pocket.

“In your case it’s mainly held in the second gym but sometimes it’s held outdoors” The secretary explained.

“Ah okay thank you, have a good day!” Adamant replied.

“Thanks you to!” The secretary responded before Adamant went to his first class of the day.

Once his class with Ms Raven Inkwell was over Adamant went to his magic basics class for the first time, to his surprise the classroom looked a lot like a science class, however there was a raised stone-gray square tile on each counter with four stools at each counter, a giant magic circle in the middle of the room, there was also another tile on the teacher’s counter which was connected to a desk that had some papers, along with a computer on it, and a desk chair; on the walls were posters of various magic circle types, magic creatures as well as there being glass-door cabinets with various magical items and a couple of bookshelves filled with Tomes and Grimoires.

“Ah you must be my new student!” A voice exclaimed from behind Adamant, startling him. “Oops sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you”

“Y-yea, it’s okay...” Adamant replied before turning around. “Um you are Mr Sunburst right?”

“Of coarse, I’m glad to have you in my class!” Mr Sunburst exclaimed.

Mr Sunburst was wearing silver glasses, an egg-shell white button up shirt with an Egyptian-blue colored tie that had teal-colored stars all over it, khakis and coal-black loafers.

“Thanks...so where do I sit?” Adamant asked.

“That can be decided after the bell rings, but for now come on it!” Mr Sunburst explained.

“Okay” Adamant replied before entering the classroom.

“But I do have to say your file surprised me!” Mr Sunburst remarked.

“What do you mean?” Adamant asked.

“Well because you have four of the rarest abilities ever, armor manifestation, blade manipulation, healing and immortality; not to mention that your stats quadrupled” Mr Sunburst explained as the last student entered his class and sat down before the bell rang. “Right everyone, before we start I would like to introduce your new student!”

“Wait what?” Adamant thought as Mr Sunburst introduced him. “Hi...”

“Okay then, everyone today is a free period so I can catch Adamant up on what we’re doing, so then I would like you to place your hand on the magic circle on my counter” Mr Sunburst explained. “You don’t have to do anything except keep your hand there and I’ll do the rest!”

“Um okay but may I ask why?” Adamant asked as he placed his hand on the magic circle.

“It’s to determine your Attribute Animal, which is similar to a Spirit Animal however only those who have a significant source of magical power or have an Animal-Based Soul-weapon can have an Attribute Animal!” Mr Sunburst explained before modifying the tile, causing a light-blue colored magic circle to appear under Adamant’s hand. “Basically what this magic circle does is that it creates a holographic creature based off of your soul’s aura!”

“Okay...” Adamant replied before some cherry-red and flame-orange particles started floating up from Adamant’s hand before forming into a regal looking bird that looked to be partially on fire. “Um...Mr Sunburst is that what I think it is?”

“Looks like it, though I myself have never seen one in person but it looks like you’re Animal Attribute is a phoenix!” Mr Sunburst explained. “Which makes sense if your Soul-weapon was forged with the soul of a phoenix then you would also have a phoenix Attribute Animal”

“I guess” Adamant replied before removing his hand, causing the magic circle and the holographic phoenix to disappear.

“Now then, there’s an empty seat next to Fluttershy if you want, there’s no one assigned to it” Mr Sunburst exclaimed as he motioned to the empty Fluttershy.

“Alright” Adamant replied before going to sit next to Fluttershy.

“H-hi Adamant...” Fluttershy mumbled as Adamant sat down.

“Hello” Adamant replied as Mr Sunburst brought over a Grimoire that was titled, Magic 101 and some papers including a syllabus.

“Alrighty, this is your textbook for you to take home, try not to loose it, a syllabus for your parent or guardian to sign so you can participate in activities, field trips etc, a rules/guidelines sheet for my class and some worksheets that cover what you have missed!” Mr Sunburst explained as he handed the items to Adamant.

“Thanks” Adamant replied before taking out his binder and a pencil while Mr Sunburst pulled up a stool.

“Okay the first thing you need to know about magic/spells is how they work, in order for one to use a spellyou need to know how much magic power you have because if you don’t have enough then some spells might just end up killing you, or at the very least just cause a couple of sparks” Mr Sunburst explained after Adamant had placed his syllabus in his folder before opening the Grimoire that he was given. “Generally most spells require incantations however some don’t require any at all, just the thought and action alone can be enough to use a spell!”

“I understand...kinda” Adamant replied.

“Good, now then the use of magic is only limited by how much magic one has and their imagination!” Mr Sunburst explained. “As for incantation’s and magic circles they can be just as diverse as the human population.”

“Okay?” Adamant responded before asking. “Is there any laws about the use of magic?”

“Actually there is a couple, mainly don’t use your magic to commit crimes like theft, assault, etc; however, some magic is forbidden from use like mind control magic, necromancy magic, curses, possession, voodoo, any life draining magicand homunculus creation” Mr Sunburst explained. “There are also laws and regulations regarding magic items, like enhancers are illegal, certain talismans, voodoo items like dolls or items that can control or create artificial life.”

“Okay, I never knew there was so many laws and regulations” Adamant exclaimed.

“Yea, now then I shall leave you to work on the worksheets I gave you, so if you need any help ask me or any of your classmates for help!” Mr Sunburst replied before getting up, putting the stool he was sitting on back and went to sit down at his desk.

“I-if there’s any a-animal based q-questions you n-need help w-with then y-you can ask me...” Fluttershy muttered.

“Thank you” Adamant replied beforeopening his Grimoire and starting on the worksheets he was given.
