Chapters Chapter the First: The Wrong One
Three days. They had three days once entering Ponyville to collect their target and be on their way. Jaxton took a deep breath and turned back to his accomplices. The wagonload of Zebras looked back up to him.
"We're almost there, watch what you say," he said, placing a hoof to his lips. "But first, a final reminder of our prey."
"Young Cream Heart, she is so named," said Zylah, the group's only female. She was tall and had so many stripes that she appeared to be more black than white. "Cream of coat and auburn maned. Our mission is to capture her, and bring her to heel, that she may serve."
"Our plan is simple, quick and easy," added Malakai. He was tall and muscular, with a slicked back mane. "The execution should be quite breezy. First, we lure her in to listen. Her eyes grow wide, and start to glisten. You sing and play, so starts the din, and that's where I come creeping in. She'll question, yes, but 'fore she asks it, I'll seize her in a soundproof basket. I whisk her to our rendezvous, and then we bid this town adieu."
"Quite well spoken, Malakai," said Kayson, the final zebra in the wagon. He was short and stout. He anxiously tapped his fingers against his drum. "But can you catch her on the fly? If we're spotted by the town, tell me, what's your workaround?"
"We'll have to draw her from the group," replied Malak. "An alleyway out of the loop. With my words, she'll be enraptured. And once we're alone, she will be captured."
"A call for silence will not be heeded," scowled Zylah. "A dart gun maybe will be needed. Kayson, surely you have one? Give it to Malak, should be fun."
Kayson reached into his pack and drew out a small tube for blowing darts. He offered it to Malak, along with four darts. "Don't dare break it, Malakai, it's expensive and in short supply."
"Quiet now," snapped Jaxton. "We're almost there, and we want the citizens unaware."
The cart of zebras rolled into the middle of town, coming to a stop in the main square. Ponies were already starting to gather as Jaxton, Zylah and Kayson started unpacking the cart into a stage. Malakai, however, was tasked with spreading the word around town that a group of travelling zebras had arrived to play music for the next three days. This drew an even larger crowd and allowed him to take a look around the town. More importantly, it gave him a chance to find their employer's safehouse. Upon finding it, he rapped on the door.
A male pegasus answered. "Can I help you?"
"I come here seeking Roaring Thunder," responded Malakai with a bow. "Perchance, could you be him, I wonder?"
"Alright, alright," whispered Thunder, ushering him inside. "Come inside quick, before someone sees you." Malakai quickly entered the building as his host closed the door. "Now, I only have access to this house for a week. After that, the owner comes back. You need to be out of here in three days. That will give me enough time to clean this place up before she comes back."
"Worry not, my winged friend," chuckled Malak. "Your wish is for a quick, clean end. A three day limit for this task has been assigned, you needn't ask. If here too long, it's us they'll finger, so once we're done, we mustn't linger."
"Good, good. I already have a place in mind for that sultry bitch. Her son, Button Mash won't shut up about her. She needs to be mine. If she were waiting on my hand and foot, rather than his, I would be the top gamer in all of Equestria."
"What your reasons are, you needn't say. But now I must be on my way. You wanted her ready to struggle and fight, and so you'll have her, hopefully by tonight. But first, there's one small flaw, you see. For this house, we have no key."
Thunder produced four keys and gave them to Malak. "These will let you through both doors to the house. When you bring her, take her down to the basement. I have rope and duct tape to bind her, and it's simultaneously the most sound-proof area, and the area with the strongest walls, so the damage she can cause is minimal."
"Without a doubt, your plan is stable. I'll nab your quarry as I'm able. With luck, she'll come and see our show. But the hour is late, and I must go."
Malak returned to the main square to find that the crowd of ponies had quadrupled in size. Zylah was practicing her vocal warm-ups while Kayson kept the crowd entertained with a solo drum performance. The only zebra still setting up was Jaxton, who waved Malakai over.
"We're ready for our set to start," whispered Jax from behind the stage. "Tell me that you've done your part."
"A place for us has been acquired," confirmed Malak, presenting the keys. Jax took all but one. "Now subterfuge is what's required. I'll wander the crowd and ask for alms. With luck, they'll eat that right out of my palms."
"Good. Take the basket, do your thing. I'm going to regale them with some strings."
Over the course of the next four hours, Ponies came to watch the show and listen to the exotic music played by the strange guests. During that time, Malak roamed the crowds, keeping an eye out for Cream Heart, but also collecting donations. The large basket he carried on his back was quite conspicuous, and many ponies asked what it was for. They would receive their answer after a donation, when the top compartment would open, and they would be showered with dried flower petals in response to their generosity. What he didn't tell them was that it was specifically chosen to be large enough to fit a mare inside it.
Finally, He spotted her. She was walking with a well-dressed mare with a white coat and purple mane. He walked up to the mare, holding out his begging bowl.
"Maid of hair so smooth and long, dost thou like our exotic song?"
"Yes, it's quite... charming." said the white mare. Malak wasn't convinced by her demeanor. She was clearly only saying what she thought he wanted to hear.
"We pride ourselves on our clarity. Unfortunately, we live only on..." He shook the bowl, the jingling of coins punctuating the word "charity."
The mare reached into her purse and dropped a handful of coins into his bowl. She was quite surprised to suddenly be showered by a small rush of flower petals. While they looked on at the rain of flowers, Malak grabbed Cream's hand. "Such a lovely maiden's grace has given me a happy face. We've been playing all night long, so what are your thoughts on our song?"
"I thought it was really nice," she blushed. "Although, I don't really understand the words..."
"I can help you with that task. You have only but to ask. I'll explain it in detail. With my help, you cannot fail."
She waved for him to follow her. "Would you like to come, too, Rarity?"
"No, thank you," responded the white mare. "I'm afraid I must go home. Busy day tomorrow." Malak could tell by the nervous chuckle that she simply wasn't interested. No matter. She was not his target.
Cream lead Malak away from the crowd, where she would be better able to hear him. Just as Malak was sure that no one else was around, she turned a corner. They were still close enough to hear the music, but far enough as to not be seen by the crowds. He reached down to his hip, loading a dart into the blow tube. As he rounded the corner behind her, he took note that all of the walls facing him at this very moment had neither doors nor windows. This was the perfect spot. Kayson's dart flew out of the end of the tube, propelled by his lungs. A moment later, she had stumbled to the ground. He quickly set to work loading her into the basket. He ran into some trouble fitting her in, but eventually managed to cram her body into the basket. He really wished that Rolling Thunder had mentioned that she had wings.
Hours later, under cover of night, the basket containing the mare was carried into Thunder's friend's house and she was let out into the basement. She was instantly bound by the combined efforts of Malak and Kayson, a necessary step because she had awoken.
" Wait..." grumbled Thunder. "This isn't Cream Heart!"
"Now that I see her in the light, something doesn't seem quite right." Malak rubbed his eyes. "Yellow coat and strawberry mane, I think the moonlight's deceived us again."
"It was rather dark out there," added Jax. "It seems we've captured the wrong mare. Lock her in the basement, then. Tomorrow night, we'll try again."
"You said you were professionals!" shouted Thunder. "You promised me Cream Heart!"
"Calm yourself," said Jax, holding up a hand to stop him. "Don't ruffle your feathers. A mistake was made that we'll just have to weather. We promised we'd take her, did we not? We still have two days, or so I thought?"
"Still," added Zylah, "we can't let this one roam about. If she talks, all five of us will be found out. We're in this together, we all have to fear. So until we are finished, we'll tie her up here. When we leave, we'll dispose of her, after we succeed. Until then she stays hidden. Are we agreed?"
Chapter the Second: Extra Baggage
It was their second evening in Ponyville, and they were running out of time. To make matters worse, guards were patrolling the crowd tonight. If Cream Heart showed up, they would have trouble spiriting her away. Nevertheless, Malak patrolled with the guards, keeping his eyes out for her. She didn't show up, likely because she had little interest in zebra music. It wasn't exactly common around here. It's likely that she was safe at her home, resting easily. After the show, The zebras all packed up their cart. As they returned to their safehouse empty-handed, Thunder was furious.
"You promised me results!" he yelled. "You assured me that you would have Cream Heart in my grasp, and what have you brought me so far!? One mare that means NOTHING to me, and naught else!"
"Settle down," said Kayson, gesturing with his hands. "We still have time. For us, this is an uphill climb. Our first plan had success secured. But alas, it failed, and she won't be lured."
Jaxton stood up. "The night is young, there's much ahead. What say we take her from her bed?"
"I thought that's what you were going to do originally?" growled Thunder. "Why didn't you start off with that plan?"
"Subtlety's the way to go," answered Malak. "What ponies don't see, they'll never know. But now our plan is under stress. So tell us, have you her address?"

Malakai and Jaxton made their way through the back alleys of Ponyville. It was almost two in the morning, so almost everyone was asleep. They found the house that was allegedly where Cream Heart lived, a dark blue two-story with a slate roof and plastic siding. Malak set down the basket near the rubbish bins as Jax climbed a trellis. Looking through the windows, he eventually found the sleeping silhouette of Cream Heart. With a confirmation nod to his partner, he tried to slide the window open slowly, but it wouldn't budge. He pushed harder, but still nothing. He jerked so hard that he fell off the trellis, his knees banging against the exterior wall. As he pulled himself up to the window, he saw that his commotion had awoken her. As she took a deep breath to shout out, her bedroom door swung open. There stood Malak, Kayson's dart gun in his hands. In the next moment, a red bundle of feathers was sticking out of Cream's neck, and she slumped over. Malak rushed to the window and unlocked it, sliding it open.
"How did you enter before I could?" asked Jax. "That door was made of steel, not wood."
"An entry we need not concoct, when ponies leave their doors unlocked." He helped to pull Jax in. "Softly, now. Her child sleeps. Tie her up quietly, not another peep."
The two had her tied up and out the door in less than a minute. Into the basket she went, and then onto Malak's back. Jax went back inside to clean up any mess they might have made, as well as set up a scene that would seem to indicate that she had run off and abandoned her child.
When Malak returned alone, Thunder raised an eyebrow. "Where's the other guy?"
"Jax had to stay and clean our mess, but rest assured, we have your guest." Malak opened the basket and dumped Cream Heart's limp body onto the living room floor.
"Yes!" shouted Thunder, performing a celebratory fist pump. "This is exactly her. You have more than earned your payment." He rubbed his hands together with villainous glee. "Let's see how strong Button's boasting is now."
"Again, you needn't tell us why," said Malak, sitting down on the couch he would be sleeping on. "We do the job, and away we fly."
"But you don't fly," responded Thunder. "You don't have wings."
"In this case, to fly is to flee," he yawned. "I'm tired now, please leave me be..." Malak rolled over and soon fell asleep.
"I certainly will," smiled Thunder, tossing Cream's form over his shoulder. "I'll just be downstairs, having fun with my new toy..."
At the end of the next day, after their final performance, the zebras packed up. Rather than just cramming their belongings into their cart to be unloaded the next day, they were packing everything up for their long journey home. Their extra mare had been sealed tightly in a secret compartment beneath them as they performed their set, and they planned to open her mouth as soon as they were out of view of the city. However, their plans were interrupted as they passed the city limits. A rather angry-looking orange mare with a golden mane began to chase them down, yelling for them to stop.
"Speed, milord, we must make haste!" shouted Kayson. "A local yokel has no taste. She likely finds our sound quite bad. Hurry, now, she's very mad!"
Jax cracked the reigns, driving the wagon to a higher speed. The mare continued to chase them, picking up rocks and throwing them, all the while yelling for them to stop. Again, Jax increased his speed, but the mare was relentless. As a rock landed squarely on Zylah's face, Malakai decided that he'd had enough of her. Looking around to make sure they wouldn't be spotted, he loaded a dart into Kayson's blowgun.
"Slow it down, let her catch us," he said softly to Jax. "I can keep her from making a fuss."
Jax slowed, and the mare approached. As she leaped into the back of the wagon, Malak launched a dart into her neck. She began to feel dizzy, but her rage burned on. "I know you have Fluttershy!" she yelled, swinging her fists at anyone she could reach. Kayson was busied with trying to grab hold of her, while Zylah was distracted by trying to remove herself from the mare's reach. Malak wasted no time in loading his final dart into the pipe. He took aim and fired again. This one hit her chest, and before long, she was out cold.
Jax once more picked up speed, trying to create as much distance between their cart and the town as possible before anyone could realize that she was missing, too. When he was content with their gap, he slowed down, and the wagon settled down and stopped bouncing around so much.
Jax turned back to his accomplices. "Tie her up, have her limbs bound and gag her I don't want to hear a sound." The trio immediately set to work, making sure the knots were extra tight and ensuring that she could not move. As she was being tied up, Kayson inadvertently lifted one of her legs without also lifting the other. Her skirt fell open, giving Jax a good view of her blue and white striped panties. Suddenly, he knew what use he would have for his two new prisoners. "I rather like her derriere. Put her with the pegasus mare."
Malak opened the secret compartment where Fluttershy lay. As her eyes adjusted to the light, Applejack's flaccid body was dumped on top of her. Just as quickly as it had opened, the door was shut again, and she was bathed once more in darkness.
"The new plan is quite practical," chuckled Jax, resuming their motion. "We'll take them to the capitol. Train them in the harem art. Don't you think that plan is smart?"
"The slave trade, really?" questioned Zylah, holding her bloodied nose. "That's your best? They spend their days exposing breasts? That's fine for the winged one, but the big one, no. I deserve some fun. Give her to me, I'll make her shout until her fight has all run out."
"You're just upset she hit your face," chided Kayson. "Your last slave was an utter disgrace. She cried and complained at every chance, and you think you can make this demon dance?"
"Your one to talk, you striped quack," scowled Malak. "Your last attempt wouldn't get off her back. She lounged around the couch all day 'til Jax came to do it the right way."
"We're all aware that I'm the best," said Jax. "But Malak, you've not been brought to test. Why don't you take the feathered one and try to make her come undone?"
"You honor me," smiled Malak. "I will not fail. She will not whine, lament or wail. I promise you, she'll pass the test. Now, after that fight, we've earned a rest."
The trio in the back sat comfortably in their wagon, drinking and making jokes as Jax steered them homeward. They had a new job to do.

Chapter the Third: Camping Isn't Fun Anymore
Shortly after passing the border into zebra territory, the wagon came to a stop. They had pulled off to the side of the road. It was nearly sunset, and that meant that it was time to stop for the night. They set up a small encampment and put together a fire from the nearby collection of dead fall. Three tarpaulins went up to serve as coverings. Two were left open on the side facing the fire pit, the third stayed closed. As the fire settled from a roar to a cackle, the two Equestrian girls were pulled from their prison. Their clothing was soaked with urine, as they had been unable to move for a day and a half. They were set near the fire, next to the closed tent.
The tape covering the mouth of the larger mare came off first. "Untie us at once!" she shouted, struggling against her ropes. "You can't keep us tied up like this! We have rights!"
Jax smacked her hard across the face, knocking her to the ground. "Shut your mouth, don't be so loud. You'll find that behaviour disallowed. By order of our dear physician," he gestured toward Kayson. "We've deigned for you a more comfortable position. Now, if your body you wish to save, you'll sit quietly as we fix your binding, slave."
"I ain't nobody's slave, you stripey-ass bastard! Come over here and fight me like a man!"
"I see our words fall on deaf ears. Very well, make real your fears." Jax struck her again and once more sealed her mouth shut with tape. A difficult task, considering that she wouldn't stop screaming and biting. Alas, the zebras outnumbered her, and she was left tied in a more space-saving position and tied to stakes in the ground that would keep her from falling over and rolling away.
Once they were done with her, Malak pulled the tape from the smaller mare's mouth. "I assure you, this is not a dream. But things are not what they may seem. We know that terror's what you feel. Can you put that aside for the sake of a meal?"
Fluttershy's stomach growled loudly. She hadn't eaten for two days. She'd seen Applejack be struck down, and didn't want to suffer the same fate. Without a word, she nodded. Malak smiled and unbound her wrists. slowly, she stretched her arms out, not wanting to seem aggressive or flighty. Her joints ached from being in such a compromising position for so long. While she was flexing her sore muscles, she was made to remove her wet shirt, as well as her pink, lacy bra. After a few minutes, her wrists were bound once more, but this time they were in front of her, rather than behind. Next came her legs. she was allowed to stand as they came unbound. She thought about running, but a cursory look around confirmed that there was nobody around for miles. They would catch her.
"Off with the pants, they need to dry, too," said Malak, hanging her clothes on a line near the fire. "We can't have you in wet clothes, you'll catch the flu."
Fluttershy nodded. Her hands shook as she undid the fastener for her jeans and slid them down her hips. she could go no further, as her wrists were bound, and she looked up at Malak, not knowing how to proceed. He came over to her and knelt down. After tousling her mane, his hands went to her hips. His fingers slipped inside the waistband of her panties, and in one smooth motion, he ran his hands down her legs, gently caressing her curves, until her pants were around her ankles. As she stepped out of her wet clothes, her face glowing with embarrassment, her friend was fuming. She had seen it all, as her position had been made specifically so that she would be watching.
After Malak hung up her clothing to dry, he bound her ankles loosely. Her wings had not come unbound at all. She could neither walk nor fly, but she could choose her sitting position. While most of her zebra captors would have enjoyed her sitting cross-legged with her knees open, she decided that she would prefer her knees together, hiding her more sensitive areas. As the kettle over the fire came to a boil, Kayson removed it and tossed in a sachet of herbs. He was in the mood for some tea. Fluttershy was given a small wooden cup, and before long, she was nervously sipping tea with the zebras.
"Can I ask a question?" she asked, turning all eyes towards her. Malak nodded and gestured for her to go ahead. "Why are you doing this to us? What'd we do to deserve this?"
"It was 'wrong place, wrong time' in your case," chuckled Zylah. "You were a mistake, and brought us disgrace. We had to dispose of you, of that there's no doubt. But killing you? That we could do without. On the other hand, we have your friend because she rained rocks down on us without end. She chased us down leapt aboard, so we decided we'd add her to our horde."
Malak finished his drink. "That said, there's no need to be rough. You'll bring down our wrath by acting tough. If you do just as we say, you'll be treated in a gentle way. But if you choose the defiant path," He flicked open his knife and pointed the tip at her. "You will feel your master's wrath." Fluttershy swallowed hard. She looked over at Applejack, who was struggling to escape her bonds.
Jax smiled sadistically as he stood up. "It seems she thinks are words are trash." He walked over to the wagon and pulled out a leather whip. He gave it a few cracks in the air before he came up behind her. "Let us see how she finds the lash." With a loud crack, a sharp pain shot through the bound mare's body as the whip slid across her shoulders and wrists. Another ran across her lower back, and a third one exclusively across her shoulders. She screamed out through the gag, as tears welled up behind her eyelids, which were sealed tightly. As her writhing came to a stop, her only movement was that of heavy breathing.
"That doesn't have to be your fate," smiled Malak. "Please us, and your hunger we'll sate. Speaking of, come and sit with me. I'll keep my promise of feeding you, see?" He produced an apple from a crate of food that he's pulled from the wagon while setting up camp. Fluttershy knelt down on her elbows and knees, crawling her way over to Malak. Though they all seemed cruel, Malak seemed to be the nicest one thus far. If she could trust any of them, it would be him. Using the knife he had pulled out earlier, Malak cut off chunks of the apple, feeding them to her one at a time. She would have told him that she could eat the apple herself, but she didn't like the idea of being whipped. If it could bring Applejack to tears, it must have hurt a lot.
She had eaten two apples and a banana before she spoke again. "Can I go feed Applejack? She hasn't eaten or had anything to drink this whole time. I don't mean to complain, but I'm worried about her health."
Malak opened his mouth, but it was Jax who responded. "Your dear friend hasn't earned her food. However, I'm in a giving mood. Open her shirt and expose her chest, and with a drink she will be blessed." Fluttershy was shocked by this order, but not as much as Applejack was.
"You... You want me to show you her boobs?"
Jax nodded. "Also, if she will stay quiet, I would then resume her diet. Be warned, though, my gift may yet turn sour. The choice is yours, my little flower."
Fluttershy sat for a moment. She didn't want to expose Applejack's breasts, but she didn't want her to starve, either. She nodded, and held out her open hands to Malak. He dropped a single apple into it, and she crawled her way over to where Applejack was. As she began loosening the buttons on her friend's shirt, Applejack shook her head and mumbled through the gag. "I'm sorry, Applejack. But I can't let you starve." Pulling open Applejack's shirt, she slid her soft hands into her bra and lifted out the mammaries for all to see. She looked back to Jax, who gave an approving nod. With that, Fluttershy slowly pulled the gag off of Applejack's mouth. "Please don't shout," she whispered. "I need you, AJ."
Applejack was too embarrassed to speak. Tears washed down her face as Fluttershy fed her. When the first apple was gone, she brought back another, and then another. She was also allowed a canteen to bring over water to keep her hydrated. After the third apple, Malak refused to give her more. Instead, he just bound her limbs together once more so that she couldn't crawl anymore.
"You've been rather well-behaved. I think you'll be a respectable slave. But now the hour grows dark and late, so your mobility I must confiscate. Your friend will go into her tent, but for you, I think the rules can be bent. So I have to be sure you're bound up tight, as you'll be sleeping in my bed tonight."
This reignited Applejack's rage. "That's sick! You can't sleep with her! She didn't give her consent!" She was once again silenced by Jax slapping her with the back of his hand, though her bindings kept her from falling over this time.
"I daresay, you are rather spoiled," he said, gagging her once more. "Worry not, she won't be soiled. But listen. As you grow more heated, the worse she'll see that you are treated. Can you not just shut your hole, and spare her from a damaged soul?" Applejack looked to Fluttershy. In the dying light of the fire, she could see the fear in her eyes, a sight that caused her more pain than the lashings had. "Keep your tongue from coming loose, or else I'll give it a different use."
Author's Note
Writing for zebras was so taxing at first. But now I think that I'm through the worst. It takes less time to fint the text that I would be composing next. Four days in, and I'm in the groove. That'll help the story go smooth.
Chapter the Fourth: Welcome Home
Fluttershy was uneasy. She'd only barely slept. Malak's muscular arms had held her tightly all through the night, keeping her from wriggling away. She wouldn't have minded so much if she was allowed to wear her clothes and the arms holding her were familiar, but a strange stallion was caressing her exposed chest. At least he was wearing his own clothes, she thought. Things would be significantly worse if both of them were in the nude.
Her eyes shot open as she heard the clank of cast iron against wood. From over Zylah's shoulder, she could see Kayson moving around the fire pit in the dim light of dawn. He knelt down, dropping from her view. She heard a light scraping sound, followed by a soft crackling. He stood back up, now better illuminated by the light of the fire.
"You should not yet be awake," he said, looking right into her eyes. "I hope you're rested, for your own sake."
She somehow managed to sit up and shake her head. "I couldn't stay asleep. I'm really scared."
Kayson smiled and walked over to her. He lifted her over Zylah and set her down next to the fire. "Calm your fears, my little pony. Soon, you'll see that they're quite phony. If you're good, a pleasant life will be all yours, free of strife."
"Promise?"
He nodded. "It will be as you saw last night. Don't tell me you've forgot that sight?"
She shivered and shook her head. "That's what frightened me. I had nightmares about it."
"Perhaps if Malak hears you weep, he'll help you with your lack of sleep. If, by chance, he is inspired, he'll be sure to make you tired."
"I don't really remember your names. I only just heard them a few times last night. You're Jax, right?"
Kayson let out a laugh, a bit louder than he was intending. "No, my dear, that is not me. Kayson's the name. Jax is he." He pointed to Jax, who was still sleeping in his own tent, which he had shared with Kayson that night. "Zylah is the only mare in our group. She's over there." He indicated the tent where Applebloom had slept. "Malak's on the other side. He is going to be your guide."
"My guide?" Fluttershy was confused. "What do I need a guide for?"
"You are untrained, your biggest flaw. You're to do what your master says, by law. You're to be his newest slave. He'll treat you well, if you behave."
"A slave?" she asked. "Doesn't that mean I work for no pay and I'm kept in horrible conditions?"
"If you do all that he asks, no matter what the scale of task, he will treat you with respect. I hope your attitude will reflect. That said, you're under his ownership. Try to leave, or make a slip, he has the right to punish you." He leaned in closely, making her even more uncomfortable. "So take care in all that you do. He can sell you if he so desires, when his interest in you expires. Your next master might not be so kind. Like Jax, who would whip your behind."
She shivered again at the thought of the whip. The cracks it made as it lashed across Applejack's back still echoed in her head. "Is he going to be guiding Applejack, too?"
With the fire now where he wanted it, Kayson set up a small grate, on top of which he placed a cast-iron skillet. "Applejack will be set aside, until our rules she can abide. If she cannot, then Jax will come and beat her ass until it's numb. She belongs to him alone. His skill so sharp, he needn't hone. He will bring her to her knees, begging for a cock to please. After a breakfast of eggs and toast, the Zebras packed up the camp. Fluttershy was given an opportunity to relieve her bladder before being loaded in, but Applejack was afforded no such luxury. After the fire was put out, Zylah tossed Applejack into the compartment, but Malak stopped her from doing the same to Fluttershy. As he slipped her into her panties and bra, now dry, he asked her what her riding preference was.
"Since you have performed so well, my hope for your stability swells. As you now are in my service, I'd like you to be less nervous. If you wish to ride above, or below with your friend, tightly shoved. This is the choice you have to make. Hurry, you haven't much time to take."
Fluttershy thought hard. If Kayson was right, it would be a long time before she saw Applejack again, if ever. Riding below might be the last time they ever spent together. On the other hand, if they could stay together, riding up top would give her a view of the countryside. Malak seemed nice. If he would let her visit her friend, maybe Applejack could bust them out. Then she could recall the path that lead them into the city, and use that knowledge to lead them back to this spot. That's one step closer to home.
"I want to ride in the wagon with you."
Hearing these words, Applejack's heart skipped a beat. She didn't want to be alone. Fluttershy was all the comfort she had now. She was the strong one, she was supposed to protect her friends from their captor's corruption. But Fluttershy had made her choice. As the door swung closed, she began to weep softly.
As the wagon started to move, Fluttershy knelt between Malak's knees, as she had been instructed. She looked up at him, and he looked back, smiling as if this were a pleasant experience. For him, it was. He reached down and caressed her cheek, directing her face to press against the interior of his thigh. She maintained this position for a few minutes, then lifted her chin so as to rest on his leg. This gave her a decent view behind them as the clearing they had camped in grew smaller and smaller in the distance. The zebras talked among themselves, but Fluttershy wasn't listening. She was focused on the road.
Soon, she lost her concentration, and her mind began to wander. She worried that her animal friends would starve without her around. She wondered if her other friends were out looking for her. While Applejack was capable of worrying about her own family, Fluttershy took it upon herself to think about what must be going through Big Mac's mind at this very moment. And of course, poor Apple Bloom...
Tears began to flow down her cheeks as the dread set in. She pressed her face against Malak's leg. Her breathing became irregular and laboured. But she couldn't bring herself to make a sound. A strong hand gently began to rub her shoulder, and Malak pulled her up into his lap. Before long, she could hear Zylah singing softly to her, with Kayson accompanying her with a soft drumbeat. She felt a chunk of something wooden against her back as Malak let go of her, and a lute joined in. Malak wasn't as skilled with the instrument As Jaxton, but he was decent enough to calm her down.
When her breathing finally normalized, Malakai gently shook her shoulder and pointed out of the front of the wagon. "The capitol can now be seen. Gaze upon it's lustrous sheen." Fluttershy looked up. It was a fairly large city, surrounded by yellow plains of wheat and red-violet fields of amaranth. In the distance, she could see fields of corn, orchards full of trees she didn't recognize, and a plant that she swore she'd seen before, but couldn't name. As the wagon neared the fields, she could hear a choir of pony voices singing together. Numerous ponies with stripes painted on their backs worked the fields, seeming to be perfectly content to do so. In fact, they were smiling, and their song was joyous.
"What's that song they're singing?"
"They sing a song of harvests past, confident that our stores will last. You can learn it, too, and then I might just let you farm with them. But first, before you're able to roam, you must settle in to your new home." Fluttershy nodded in response to Malak's words. Whether temporary or permanent, this would be her new home for awhile. She may as well adjust to it. She'd be no use to Applejack if she didn't at least learn her way around. For her friend beneath the wagon, she would brave the terror of this existence.
Big Macintosh wiped the sweat from his brow as he stood up. Applejack's boot prints ended here. They went no further, nor did they go back. At this exact point, she had boarded a vehicle. Judging by the most recent tracks, a wagon. She had been telling him that she was sure Fluttershy had been kidnapped by the zebras that had come to town, and the tracks that lead away from this spot were headed in the direction of zebra territory.
He turned around. "She's been taken, too. Zebras, I reckon." He approached Granny, who was now in tears. As he wrapped his arms around her shoulders, he whispered into her ear. "I'm gonna go bring them back. Don't you worry, Granny." He gave her a peck on the cheek, then turned and strolled down the road. "In the meantime, Why don't you ask cousins Braeburn and Cosmic Crisp to come help out? Goodness knows you'll need an extra hand with Applejack and I gone."
He looked down at Applejack's stetson in his hand. She'd never leave this behind. Not unless she had no choice. Pulling it down atop his brow, he set out for the zebra kingdom armed only with a hatchet and a knife. He wasn't one to take a violent stance, but he was not coming back without his sister.
Chapter the Fifth: The City of Stripes
Fluttershy could hardly believe her eyes. Malak had moved to the back of the wagon with her, allowing her to see the city as it passed. The buildings were all simple structures with very little decoration, but every one of them felt unique. Whether it was the plants literally growing out of the walls or the tribal masks that hung over every door, she felt that she could easily tell the difference between every building, despite the fact that they were all exactly the same shade of brown.
Well, not every building. They soon entered a commerce district, where the buildings became grander in scale. Whereas many of the houses thus far had all been small, one-story buildings, these rose up to two stories, or in some rare cases, three. While they certainly seemed to be reserved for commerce, she saw no signs on the buildings. How did the zebras know what was being sold where?
The answer came to her as the wagon rounded a corner, and she was met with the dull roar of a large open-air market. She saw that ponies were coming out of the buildings with crates and dropping them off at covered stands. It reminded her of the weekly farmer's market that took place in Ponyville's main square, but these stands were selling more than just produce. Clothing, dried goods, kitchen equipment and leather works were all things she saw. She wished Applejack could see this, as it might have alleviated some of her anger. A small amount, at least.
Just as they exited the commercial area, the wagon came to a stop. Fluttershy could hear Jaxton talking with two other zebra stallions, but she found that she couldn't pay attention to it, as she looked upon the zebra king's palace. Through a simple wrought iron fence, there was a long, open garden, currently being tended by ponies, presumably slaves. Beyond the garden, a tall stone staircase curved up to the second floor, where there was no door, only a series of archways. While the center only seemed to be two stories, the building grew taller as it moved outward, culminating at what must be four stories tall. And that wasn't counting the multitudes of towers that seemed to be placed all over. These towers were unlike any she had ever seen before. They were fairly thin from the bottom to the middle, then began to flare outward as they rose. The rooms at the tops of these towers must have been larger than some of the houses she'd seen on the way in. The wagon resumed its movement, and the palace disappeared behind another building.
It seemed as though the Zebras that had stopped the wagon a moment ago were following them. They wore very little in the way of clothing. From their knees to their ankles was a set of fur-lined boots, with carved wooden plates on the outside. Above that was a simple tasset made from the skin of some reptile Fluttershy didn't recognize. Across their chests was a cross of belts, holding their wooden pauldrons in place , as well as allowing them to mount their very tall shields on their backs. Only their right forearms were armored, in the same manner as their feet. Their weapons all seemed to be hand-carved from wood, with the grips being made from woven leather strips. The only metal they wore were their simple helmets, which only covered the tops and backs of their heads. Fluttershy wondered if the zebras really went to battle dressed like this, or if it was only for decoration.
Once again in a residential area, the wagon came to a stop. Malak stood up and leaped out of the back of the wagon, offering his hand to Fluttershy to assist her in disembarking. She gladly took his hand and hopped down. As her legs were still bound from the trip, she didn't land so gracefully, but Malak was there to steady her. "Is this our destination?" she asked.
"The king is gracing us with his presence. I expect you to be a picture of pleasance." Malak made sure that she would stay close to him by grabbing hold of her still bound wings. Zylah and Kayson had unloaded Applejack, who was still bound and gagged. As Jaxton came to the back of the wagon, a well-dressed zebra stallion came around the other side. Malak, Zylah, Kayson, and the two guards knelt before him, and Fluttershy was pulled down to her knees by Malak's grip. As Fluttershy was wondering why Jax didn't need to kneel, she saw him walk up and hug the well-dressed stallion.
"Jax, my nephew, good to see that you saw fit to visit me," laughed the stallion.
"Uncle Hasani, you've gained weight," responded Jax with a smile. "Eating extra meals of late?"
"What can I say? The cook you trained ends his days completely drained. But enough about me, where have you been? Off collecting slaves again?"
"These two were accidents, rest assured. Untrained thus far, but that will soon be cured."
Applejack struggled in her bonds as King Hasani lowered himself to look her in the eye. "What is this one's name, I wonder?" He pulled back the tape, releasing her mouth. Applejack showed her gratitude for this situation by spitting in the king's face. This caused the guards to draw their weapons, but stepped back as King Hasani held up a hoof. "Jax will punish her for this blunder."
Jax put the tape back across Applejack's mouth as he nodded to the guards, who then put away their weapons. "This one is a special case. She doesn't want to learn her place. But a patient zebra's what I am. I'll train her no matter how long the plan."
"And what of her? She looks quite tame." The king brought Fluttershy's face up to look at his. "Tell me, flower, what's your name?"
"I... I'm Fluttershy?" she replied weakly.
"You don't seem so very certain. Is this question such a burden?"
She couldn't move. She was terrified that she would offend him with her answer. He was the king, after all. With a snap from his fingers, she could be imprisoned in a dungeon. Then there would be no hope of going home with Applejack. Even the slim hope she was still holding onto was better than nothing. She closed her eyes, trembling.
"Milord, if I may interject?" asked Malak. The king nodded and he stood with her. "She wishes to herself protect. At the moment, she's rather scared, as you've asked while she's unprepared. Given some time, I'm sure she'll adjust. In that, you can surely trust."
"Very well," responded King Hasani. "A month I'll give. If by then, she wants to live outside the dungeon without shame, I trust by then she'll know her name."
Malak nodded. With a smile, the king strode off with Jax and the two guards in tow. Malak tossed Fluttershy over his shoulder and carried her down the road. She opened her eyes and saw that Zylah and Kayson were taking Applejack into the house they were standing in front of, while Malak seemed to be taking her somewhere different. She still didn't have her outerwear, as it was still in the wagon. She wondered how long it would be before she would see Applejack again.
Chapter the Sixth: Bathing the Beauty
Malak's home was only a few blocks away. The late afternoon sun illuminated brightly the mask that hung over the entrance. It wasn't particularly colorful, being mostly blue and white, but it did have horns and furs as accents. "Master Malakai!" called a slender, dark blue mare as she came in from the kitchen. She held up her hand, showing a bandage wrapped around her wrist. Malak brought it up to his face, giving the bandage a gentle kiss, causing Nightshade to blush. "He should be recovering soon, though. It's not anything serious, it's just that time again."
"Ah. I should have known that would be soon. I think it's been about five moons."
"Excuse me," interrupted Fluttershy. "I don't mean to be rude, but who's Jerome?"
"Jerome is my lovely pet," answered Malak. "You're not going to meet him yet. First, your stench is rather sour. I think you could use a shower."
Fluttershy was very much in agreement with the idea of bathing. Her fur was matted down by not just her own sweat and urine, but Applejack's as well. "I would be very appreciative of a shower right now."
"Shall I fetch you fresh towels and clothing, Master Malak?" asked Nightshade. Malak nodded in response and carried Fluttershy off toward the bathroom as Nightshade ran off in another direction.
"Is she one of your slaves, too?"
"Nightshade is my brother's mare," chuckled Malak. "But it's for me she really cares. I don't really feel the same, but a pleasant friendship we maintain. She watched Jerome while I was gone, watered the plants and trimmed the lawn."
"So will she be around often? How often should I be seeing her?"
Malak set Fluttershy down on a stool and began untying her wrists. "If you don't want to be alone, then smile. She'll be coming by every once in a while." Once her wrists were separated, they were secured one by one to the curtain rod in the shower, preventing her from leaving. While he was doing so, he slipped off her bra and tossed it aside. Still, the tub was stationary, at least. The ride in the wagon had her jostling around uncomfortably all day. This was the closest she had been to relaxing since she had left Ponyville.
Suddenly, the door swung open and the lights came on. Jax was standing in the doorframe, a smirk on his face and a leather bag in his hand. Closing the door behind him, he walked over to where she lay and sat down on the rim of the tub, placing his bag on the counter. "Let us now remove that tape, and see how much you need reshaped." In one motion, he grasped the corner of the tape and ripped it from her face, causing her a great deal of pain for a moment.
"Son of a whore!" she shouted out, clearly discomforted by the sudden stinging. Jax grabbed her by the jaw and inspected her face, taking note of the slight bruise he had left when he had struck her the previous night. "Where's Fluttershy? Tell me where she is!"
Jax dropped her back into the tub. Her shoulder hit the rim with a dull thud, causing a small shockwave of pain through her body. It shouldn't have hurt that much, she thought to herself as Jax began to rifle through his bag. "Don't fear for her, she's not gone far. You should be worried about where you are. He pulled out a long, sharp knife with a concave blade. "I'd ask you to strip, but this will be faster."

She gritted her teeth and nodded.
He rolled her onto her stomach, pinning her down with his knee as he unbound her ankles and knees. She stretched out her legs, feeling the tension release from her muscles. It felt very pleasant, compared to her previous position. Just as she felt her strength returning, she heard a loud click, and felt the cold grip of a steel shackle being secured to her right ankle. She tried to look behind her, but couldn't, as her shoulder was pinned to the floor. Before she could protest, a second shackle was secured to her left ankle. "What are those for!?" she demanded.
"That is how you'll be secured. It means you'll have to keep your word." Another click was heard as he fastened one of her ankles to a small eyelet in one corner of the tub. Her other leg was twisted and contorted painfully so that it could lock in with another eyelet on the opposite side. Only now did he untie her wrists. They, too were shackled as he pulled her up by her mane to a standing position. Her wrist shackles were then bound to chains that seemed to be permanently secured to the ceiling. It was becoming increasingly clear that he had done this before, and was very well equipped to do so again.

"She's cherry?" The gryphon was shocked. "Mint condition at her age... How did that happen?"
"I didn't come all this way to hear you lust over a dancer, Ambassador Gala," groaned the Saddle Arabian envoy. "If you're so horned up, there's a mare waiting for you." He gestured to Applejack, who was running a comb through her mane. "A stallion, too, if you wait five minutes."
While the Coursican diplomat had a laugh at the joke, Gala was not amused. "It's that kind of offensive comment that starts wars, Ambassador Dapple. I wouldn't be surprised if you find that your borders suddenly shrink."
"Oh, come off it, Gala," waved the Coursican diplomat. "It's just a bit of fun. Besides, no one's going to say anything to your superiors. What happens on the dirty mattress stays on the dirty mattress."
"It's sick," growled Gala.

Two hours passed before Fluttershy stopped dancing. She needed a rest, a bathroom break, and something to drink. She found Malak over by where Applejack and Big Mac were working. He took Jerome, and gave her a flute of white liquid. She drank it down, finding it to be a virgin pina colada. It was very refreshing.
"I can't believe I've never seen you dance before," smiled Applejack, hugging Fluttershy. "I'd be honored if you'd grace me with a private dance sometime."

On her way back, she was stopped by a young mare. Fluttershy had seen her sitting next to King Hasani, and assumed that she was of some amount of import. She bowed low to this mare.
"You don't have to bow, miss," smiled the mare. "I'm not a noblemare, I'm just an envoy from Course."
Fluttershy stood back up, but kept her eyes low. "Was there something you needed, mistress?"
"No need to be so formal, either," she chuckled. "I was just wondering what your thoughts were on living here in the capitol. You do live here, yes?" Fluttershy nodded sheepishly. "How do you like it?"
"It's not so bad, really," answered Fluttershy. "When I was brought here, I thought it was all going to be run down buildings full of brutes who would derive joy from hurting me, but that hasn't really been true. I don't know if that's true in all cases, maybe I'm just lucky."
"Where did you live before you came here?"
"Ponyville."
"Never heard of the place."
"It's not far from Canterlot, if that helps. Right in the middle of Equestria."
The mare nodded. "I see. I know where I recognize you from, now. A blue pegasus with a rainbow mane asked if I had seen you."
Fluttershy's heart skipped a beat. "Rainbow Dash is looking for me?" She was about to ask this mare to send back a message, but then she remembered Applejack's concerns. "If it's all the same to you, could you forget you saw me here?"

Fluttershy shook her head. "She's a very close friend. I don't want to hurt her, but right now is not the best time to tell her all that's happened. When the time is right, I'll talk to her. Hopefully, by then, I'll have figured out what I want to say to her."
"I hope you do so. She was really worried about you." The mare placed a hand on Fluttershy's shoulder. "Thank you for your time, sweetie. It's been fun."
With a turn she walked off, leaving Fluttershy alone. She was happy to hear that Rainbow Dash was so worried about her, but at the same time, she hoped that her friends weren't running themselves ragged looking for her. Her thoughts were interrupted as a pair of claws grabbed her from behind and covered her mouth.
Chapter the Twenty-Fourth: Upside-Down
Fluttershy let out a pained groan as her body slammed onto the mattress. The Gryphon who had grabbed her stepped back and began to strip off his clothing. "Take off that outfit," he commanded in a harsh tone. Fluttershy did as commanded, guessing what he had in mind. The sooner she finished with him, the sooner she could go back to her master.
As their clothing fell to the floor, the gryphon climbed on top of her and slid his claw between her legs. He was even more rough than Master Jax was. Applejack rolled her eyes. "In that case, we should go find her."

"That's her," confirmed Applejack. "Do you know where she is?"
"I had a short chat with her in the north hall. This would have been ten minutes ago. That's where I left her."
"Thank you very much," bowed Applejack. The three of them headed for the north hall.

That was apparently evidence enough for the guards, as they began to push at the door. It was locked, and both guards began ramming their shoulders against it. When it didn't budge on the second strike, Big Mac pulled one of the guards aside and raised his leg, slamming his foot hard enough against the wooden barricade to snap the door in half.
Fluttershy peered over Gala's shoulder to see Applejack grabbing him by the wings. As he was ripped from her, his barbs latched onto her skin, dealing a final blow to her flesh. He had released her legs, and she used the opportunity to crawl away. She looked on in horror as she saw firsthand the wrath of her friends.
Big Mac dealt the first blow. As Applejack swung Gala around to face him, Big Mac's fist came forward, putting a sizable crack in his beak. Gala fell back, grabbing a small knife off his table. He swung it at Big Macintosh, driving him backwards.
The next blow came from Jerome. As Gala came closer to the door, the snake lunged forward, sinking his fangs into Gala's wrist. He dropped the knife, grabbing the serpent by the neck and trying to strangle it.

The guards had entered the room by now, and they took the opportunity to bind Galahad and separate him from the others. It took Malak's involvement to restrain Jerome.
It wasn't long at all before the king arrived. He grimaced at the sight of the broken door, but his attention was soon drawn to the pool of blood on the bed, the mare it was coming from, and the two slaves trying to calm her down. "Tell me what happened here," he demanded. "Ensure that all your words are clear."
Fluttershy described in detail the events that had occurred since she stopped dancing for him. She left nothing out of her explanation. When appropriate, Dapple would chime in as a third party witness, as he had been deemed to have no ties to either side of the argument.
When she finished, King Hasani turned to face Galahad, who was refusing eye contact. "Galahad of Griffinstone, you stand accused of theft of property you'd been refused. Hasani kneeled down and grabbed Gala by the jaw, turning him towards his prosecutor. "I don't give leave to destroy my things. Such is only the right of custodians and kings." Suddenly, Jax appeared in the room, having been fetched by another guard. "Ah, my dearest nephew arrives! For you, I have a special surprise. This gryphon has shown his true intent. I trust you can ensure his will is bent?"
"Of course, my uncle," he bowed "It shall be done. But before I start to have my fun, there is a problem I must reveal. My training facility is no longer ideal. I must offload my current stock, before I can make this clucker squawk."
"I will take these two as my own," called Malak, stepping up to the king. "Until further notice, they can stay in my home. If you need a reason why, they'll help to heal miss Fluttershy."
"Yeah," called Applejack. "We'll make sure she's well taken care of."
Fluttershy nestled further into Big Mac's chest, her body language speaking volumes to King Hasani as to what her preference was.
"Very well," said the king, standing back up. "I'll leave you alone. I must write a letter to Griffinstone."
Epilogue the First: Normalcy

Fluttershy shook her head. "You're going to run out of fingers eventually. When that day comes, you'll need to know how to add."
"By the time the numbers go that high, I won't need them anymore."
Fluttershy gave her almonds one more quick stir before sitting down across from the filly. "Your father brings home two hundred and thirty-eight auru every two weeks. Your aunt brings home four hundred and sixteen auru every month. Your mother averages about a hundred auru, give or take a few argents. If our monthly budget is seven hundred and fifty auru per month, can we afford to buy you a new dress?"
The filly shrugged. "I don't know."
"That's why you need addition. Subtraction, too." With a pat on the shoulder, she stood up and stirred the almonds, making sure they didn't burn.
"I guess so... What's for dinner?"
"Cauliflower almond soup."

Fluttershy turned off the fire, being satisfied with the level of roast on the almonds. "Apple Tarte Tatin, we're having company tonight. And if my memory serves me, she likes spicy food."

"No, it's one of Mommy's friends. We haven't talked in seven years, and I'd like to change that. So I'll need you on your best behaviour."
"Okay..."
Over the next hour and a half, Fluttershy and Apple Tarte Tatin worked together to finish their homework and dinner preparations. They were just about to move the soup into the blender when Applejack and Big Mac walked in.
Big Mac scooped up his daughter and placed her on his shoulder. "Evening, Precious," he chuckled, as the two adjourned to the living room. "How was school?"
Applejack stayed in the kitchen with Fluttershy, assisting her sister-wife with the final preparations for dinner. "How are you holding up?" she asked.
"Very nervous," was Fluttershy's response. "What if she doesn't accept it?"
"She will. I just know it."
"But what if she doesn't?"
"Then we go back to the way things were last month. You have a kid here. Big Mac and I are staying here no matter what. You've elected to stay with us. If that remains your decision, we're glad to have you."
"You know I won't leave. I'm just worried about what she might say."
Applejack pulled Fluttershy in close and gave her a long, reassuring kiss. "It doesn't matter what she says. If she disapproves, we just go back to what we were going to do anyway. If she does approve, we can gauge her reaction. That will tell us whether or not we can tell the others. She's our only safe bet right now."
Fluttershy hugged Applejack, resting her cheek against her shoulder. "You're right. I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry," Applejack chuckled. "I'm the one who needs to tread carefully. Why don't I finish up here? You go put on a shirt. She'll be here soon."
Fluttershy looked down at her chest. Rainbow had a lot of questions throughout dinner. While Fluttershy was remiss to talk about the events that had lead up to the three of them staying here until after Apple Tarte Tatin went to bed, she was more forthcoming about the happier elements of her story, such as the decision to have a child with Big Mac. "She seems really sweet," said Rainbow, coming back from putting Tarte to bed. "Now then." The smile drained from her face as she looked to the others. "I want you to tell me why you all disappeared. Finally, I want to know why you asked me not to tell anypony that I knew where you were."
Fluttershy began with the story of how she was kidnapped, and how Applejack had come to rescue her. As the girls finished detailing their first week, Big Mac chimed in with his story. After the party at the castle, Applejack took over, explaining how Big Mac had purchased them, as well as the house they were now living in.
"If Big Mac took care of all of your problems, why didn't you return to Ponyville? We were worried sick about you."
Applejack took a deep breath. "It's because of Apple Tarte Tatin."
"I'm sure she'd fit in just fine, AJ. She seems like a nice kid."
"That's not the problem. The problem is, she was almost mine."

"There aren't many places where Big Mac and I can go without persecution," said Applejack. "Even if this isn't the right place, that little filly deserves to know her father and aunt. We can't go back to living in Equestria, Rainbow. Not the way the laws are."
Rainbow took a deep breath and buried her head in her hands. "I need time to think about this."
Fluttershy stood up. "I'm going to go change outfits. I want to show you that living here isn't all bad. I learned to dance, and I'm less afraid of crowds now. Watch me dance for five minutes, and you'll see just how much good came of this whole ordeal."
Epilogue the Second: No Mercy
Rolling Thunder laughed in celebration of his twenty-eighth victory in a row. He had moved to the top slot on the regional leaderboards. While he had originally planned to dominate Button Mash, his adversary had fallen into a spiral of depression without his mother, and had left the game altogether. "I'm right in the middle of a tourney," said Thunder, putting his headset back on. "Why don't you two go ahead and start? I'll catch you up in an hour or so."
