Nyx’s mushroomy adventures

The next morning, Nyx woke up in the room she fell asleep in the previous night. Hmm, must have fallen asleep, she thought. I sure had the craziest dream last night.

Nyx then noticed that she wasn't in her room in Twilight's castle. Wait, this is the room I dreamed of last night. But that means, Nyx began to start crying again. "M-mom, no."

Then Nyx heard the door open slowly. She turned to look and saw Peach standing there. Peach immediately noticed that Nyx had been crying.

"What's wrong Nyx." She asked

"I-I miss my mom."

Peach felt incredibly sorry for Nyx as she sat on the bed next to her. "Oh, Nyx. I'm sorry. She really meant a lot to you, didn't she."

"Yeah, she sort of helped create me."

"Created? Don't you mean she gave birth to you?"

"No, I was created. It's a long story."

"Wow, that was quite the story." Said Peach, "So you came from this Equestria place?"

"Yes, and I hope that I can return someday."

"I hope so too. It seems like such a nice place."

"It is, most of the time anyway."

"Interesting." Said Peach. "Oh, I almost forgot. I have a surprise for you."

"What is it?"

"Follow me."

"Okay."

Nyx followed Peach through the castle and towards Toad Town.

"Nyx, remember how I said that I'd be giving you a new home?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Because." she started, before revealing the surprise, "Welcome to your new home."

Nyx's eyes grew wide with surprise. The house, which had two floors, was decorated to look like the night sky, mailbox, which had Nyx's name on it, included.

"M-my new home?" said Nyx, before turning and hugging Peach. "Thank you, I love it."

Peach smiled in return and said, "Think of this as my welcoming gift to you, Nyx."

"Thank you, again." Replied Nyx. She ran inside to check out her new home. "Wow, its amazing."

Nyx then noticed Peach leaving from out one of her windows, which had starry curtains on them.

"Goodbye, Peach." Yelled Nyx, causing Peach to turn around and look at her waving. She waved back before continuing to walk back to her castle.

Meanwhile, Nyx continued to explore her new house. It had two bedrooms, one bathroom(built for a pony), and a storage room on the top floor, and one bedroom, another bathroom, a kitchen, dining room(with a table that could seat 6 people on the bottom floor, and the bedrooms had blankets and pillows with galaxies on them. Nyx's plushie was sitting on the pillow in her room, which she took in her magic.

She went back downstairs and saw a door leading to her backyard. Curious, she opened it and saw a large flower garden there. She looked at her garden for a few seconds before heading back inside.

Then Nyx heard someone knocking at her door. She walked over and opened it and saw a bunch of toads standing there holding many things.

"Uh, hi." Said Nyx.

"We heard that you just moved in and we decided to bring gifts." Said the toad in front of the line

"Oh, what are they?"

The toads began to present each of the gifts. Nyx got some paint supplies, paintings of the Mushroom Kingdom, a potted flower, some gardening supplies, telescopes, and an enchanted bottomless coin bag with 500 coins inside. "Thank you all for the gifts. I really appreciate it."

The toads began to leave, but as the last one left, he said, "Welcome to the Mushroom Kingdom, Nyx. I hope you enjoy it here."

"Thank you, and I hope so too." Replied Nyx.

Nyx began to unpack all her gifts from the toads. She put the potted flower on the bedside table, brought the painting supplies to her galactic-style paint house, brought the gardening supplies to her shed, which looked like a spaceship, hung the paintings around her house, and carried the coin bag to her room.

Nyx suddenly heard the words "Mail call" come from outside. She walked out to her mail box and found a letter from Princess Peach.

"Dear Nyx, A couple of my close friends named Mario and Luigi and I are planning to take a vacation to Dinosaur Island, and I was wondering if you would like to join us. If you decide to come, meet us at the hot air balloon on the east side of Toad Town tomorrow at noon.
Yours truly
Peach."

Nyx immediately got some paper and a pencil and began to write a reply.

"Princess Peach
I'll be there
Signed, Nyx."

Nyx brought the letter out to the mailbox and placed it inside. Nyx's stomach began to grumble, signaling that she was hungry. She went back into her house and grabbed her coin bag from her room before heading to one of the Toad Town resturaunts.

Nyx ordered a plain salad and quickly ate it. Once she was done, she left the restaurant after paying and headed back to her house to try painting.

In Equestria, the unicorn trio had just about given up.

"This isn't working, but I want my daughter back."

"Hmm, maybe Discord will help." Suggested Starlight

Right after she said that, Discord appeared in the room with a big sign that said "No."

"Nope, I can't do that. My magic isn't powerful enough, but I can do two other things."

"Which are?"

"I can open a window-like portal and send a mini version of myself to Nyx so that you can communicate."

"DO IT."

"Okay." Replied Discord, using his claw to open the portal.

On the other side was Nyx painting next to a flower garden. She was painting a picture of Twilight and her friends.

"Nyx." Said Twilight to the portal, "I know that you can't hear me, but know that I'm still trying to bring you home. Oh, Nyx."

While Twilight was talking to the portal, Discord was sending the mini Discord through to the other dimension.

"Keep an eye on Nyx, mini me. Make sure that she can communicate with Twilight through letters. And tell me when something worth opening the portal happens."

"Yes, giant me." Replied Mini-Discord, jumping through a smaller portal.

Back at Nyx's house, Nyx began to feel tired. So she quickly, but accurately, finished her painting before putting her painting stuff away and heading back inside her house.

She set the painting down on her table to let it dry overnight before heading to her room for the night. She turned off her light, smelled her potted flower one more time, then fell asleep.
