Nyx’s mushroomy adventures

The next morning, Nyx woke up to see the sunlight shining through her window.

"I can't wait to see Dinosaur Island, I wonder what it's like." Said Nyx, holding her Twilight plushie "I wish that there was some way I could tell mom about how I'm doing."

"There is one way." Said a voice

"W-who's there." Asked Nyx, startled

Mini-Discord appeared on Nyx's muzzle, "Discord, is that you?"

"Sort of. I am a clone of the real Discord, and I was sent here in order for you to send letters to your mother."

"Really?" Said Nyx, excited

"Yes, really. The real Discord is also able to open window portals for your mother and company to see you."

"Awesome. Do you think that I could send a letter right now?"

"Certainly. Your write the letter and I'll deliver it."

"Okay."

Back in Twilight's castle, Twilight was reading a book on different types of teleportation when Discord appeared in front of her.

"You got mail from guess who."

"Nyx?"

"Yes. Here you go." Replied Discord, giving the letter to Twilight before snapping away.

"Dear mom.

I know that you're probably worried about me, but I wanted to tell you that I'm safe. I ended up in this place called the Mushroom Kingdom, which is ruled by Princess Peach, and she, along with the toads(not related to frogs) are really nice. I still miss you and everyone else in Equestria, and I will be coming back eventually. But I have no idea when that will be. For now, know that I am still okay.

In fact, they are so nice that they gave me a new house in the town in front of the castle called Toad Town and a bunch of gifts. Today, I'm joining Peach and two of her friends on a vacation to this place called Dinosaur Island. I'm really excited for it.

One last thing, please don't be mad at Auntie Starlight and Trixie. It was my fault that I ended up here. I wasn't thinking and that's what caused me to get hit by the magic.

"Anyway, I'll be sending you another message when I get back from Dinosaur Island, though I'm sure that Discord will be opening a portal so that you can see me. I really hope that I can get home soon."

"Love, Nyx."

Twilight set the letter down and began crying. "Oh, Nyx. I hope so too."

Back in Nyx's home, Nyx was looking through her cabinets for any food.

"Ugh, no food." Said Nyx, before her stomach began growling, "And I'm hungry. Guess I'll have to go to the market for some kind of food."

Nyx grabbed her money bag and headed to the market. I'm really going to have to ask for a saddlebag, and maybe another bottomless bag, except this time for items like food.

Nyx arrived at the market a couple minutes later.

"Hey, Toad. What kind of food do you sell here? I'm completely out at home.

"We currently only sell mushrooms."

"I'll take 8 of those."

"That costs 4 coins."

Nyx reached into her bag and pulled out the 4 coins and handed them to toad. Toad took the coins and then got the mushrooms for Nyx. She lifted them with her magic and left the market munching on one.

"Please come again." Toad said right before Nyx walked out the door.

Nyx then headed to the shop next door and walked inside.

"Hey, do you sell more of those bottomless bags, this one for food. I have a feeling that I'll need one at some point."

"Lucky you, we only have one left. It costs 235 coins."

Nyx gave the coins to Toad, and he gave her the bag. "Do you also sell saddlebags?"

"No, unfortunately. But it doesn't take long to make one. Mind waiting a half hour over in that chair?" Asked Toad, pointing to an empty chair.

"Sure." Replied Nyx, going to sit.

After the half hour passed, Nyx's new cosmic saddlebag was finished.

"That would normally cost 600 coins, but since you're new, it only costs 100."

Nyx gave Toad the coins and placed the saddlebag on her back, then she put the two bags inside.

"Hey Toad, what time is it?"

"It is currently 10:30."

"How long does it take to get the the east side of Toad Town where the hot air balloon is at?"

"About 15 minutes walking."

"Perfect. I got plenty of time. See you later, Toad."

"Okay. You too Nyx."

Nyx walked to a bench in the Toad Town park and ate the mushrooms, but she noticed that she wasn't getting stuffed. But she didn't have much time to think about it, for she started walking towards the hot air balloon.

When Nyx got there, she saw Peach along with two other people standing there. That must be Mario and Luigithought Nyx.

"Hey, Peach. Where's that special guest you said was coming with us?" Said Mario

"I'm sure that she'll be here any minute. Oh, there she is."

Mario and Luigi turned and saw Nyx.

"Um, Princess. When did you get a pet winged unicorn?"

"Hey, I'm nobodies pet, and the term is Ailcorn." Said Nyx

"Um, Bro. Am I going crazy, or did that alicorn just talk?"

"I assure you, neither of you are going crazy." Said Peach

"You must be Mario and Luigi, Peach told me about you. My name is Nyx."

"Well, nice to meet you Nyx." Replied Mario, shaking Nyx's hoof. Luigi did the same thing after Mario.

"Nice to meet you too. Now, when will we be leaving for Dinosaur Island?"

"Right now." Replied Peach, "Come on you three."

Mario, Luigi, and Nyx walked onto the hot air balloon and closed the entrance.

The hot air balloon started rising into the sky and floated towards where Dinosaur Island was.

On the way, Nyx and the Mario bros started telling each other about themselves. Nyx told them about her origin, and Mario and Luigi told Nyx about when they were young.

The three quickly became became well acquainted with each other during the hot air balloon ride.

Moments later, Dinosaur Island was in sight
