Luster Dawn's Journal: Entry Number Twelve - Chrysalis

Chrystalis has managed to settle in with Amelia, Screwball, and Mothball at Fluttershy's cottage for the past few weeks. During this time, rutting season was a thing that caused a bit of a situation but I'll go over that in a separate entry.

Regardless, things have been relatively quiet for some time now. A little too quiet. Everyone assumed when Chrystalis reformed, Chrysalis would try ever harder then before to get her princess back. But ironically, not a peep has been heard from the former changeling queen.

Sometimes I really should watch what I write down in this thing...

"LUSTER!" Starlight Glimmer said, rushing inside the castle of Friendship. "You've got to grab Chrystalis and Amelia..." Starlight added.

"Mom? What's wrong?" Luster Dawn asked her mother.

"It's Chrysalis...she wants to see her daughter!" Starlight said.

"What?!" Luster exclaimed.

Ponyville - Mountaintop

"Like I have stated Princess Twilight Sparkle..." Queen Chrysalis said to Princess Twilight Sparkle. "...All I'm asking for is my daughter's safe return to me." She said. "I haven't heard from her in a while, and I would like to check up on her. Of all my children, she is the most important to me." Chrysalis said.

"And you will get to see your daughter...as soon as my student arrives with her." Twilight said. "And no sooner. Do not try anything rash now." She added.

"Yeah. Or else Princess Twilight will banish you." Cozy Glow said. "Or throw you in a dungeon. Or banish you and then throw you in a dungeon on the moon that she banished you to." She added. Everyone else just stared at Cozy Glow.

"...Why is it that every time someone mentions banishing someone, they immediately feel the need to mention throwing someone in a dungeon as well as banishing someone and then throwing them in a dungeon in the place they are banished to?" Tempest Shadow asked.

"Beats me..." Twilight said. "Force of habit?" She suggested.

"That honestly wouldn't surprise me in the slightest." Chrysalis said. Now it was everyone's turn to star at the former changeling queen. "...What? Is it that weird that I can agree on something?" Chrysalis said.

"...Well as much as I'd like to argue something with you, Chrysalis; my student will be arriving at the foot of the mountain soon enough. If you want to see your daughter...then come with me." Twilight said.

Ponyville - Base of Mountain

"I'm scared..." Chyrstalis said. "What if mommy hates me now?" She asked.

"I highly doubt she could ever hate you." Amelia said. They watched Twilight come down with Chrysalis.

"It's now or never..." Luster Dawn said.

"...What the heck...?" Chrysalis was stunned upon looking at her daughter.

"...Hello mother..." Chyrstalis said.

"Not again...not again!" Chrysalis said.

"Mother?" Chrystalis said.

"Chrystalis...how dare you?! You've given into the sickness!" Chrysalis said.

"Sickness? Mom I..." Chrystalis said.

"I don't want to hear it! Clearly your a lost cause at this point." Chrysalis said before going up to her daughter and biting off a scale from her changeling mane.

"Ow! What was that for mother?!" Chrystalis said.

"It's going to be part of teaching you and all the other changelings a very harsh lesson: Friendship is for the weak!" Chrysalis said.

"But mom, I didn't..." Chrystalis tried to say again.

"I don't want to hear it." Chrysalis said and flew off.

"...I suppose I could always be wrong..." Amelia said.

"...My mother refuses to see the forest for the trees..." Chrystalis said. "But I won't give up on her. She's my mother." She added. "If I can just get her to listen to me...get her to understand...then maybe...maybe there's still hope for her." Chrystalis said.

"For once...I hope your right..." Twilight said as she moved the sun to cause Sunset.

"I know I'm right. I just need my mom to understand that this form isn't caused by friendship, but rather by love..." Chrystalis said. "That's what I learned these past few weeks." She added.

"That's...a unique way of looking at it. I guess there's still somethings I have yet to learn." Cozy Glow said.

"You know Cozy Glow..." Starlight said. "If your really willing to change...I can have you re-introduced into the school of friendship." She added.

"Eh...as much as I would like that...there would be temptation there. I think it's best if I continue self-educating myself." Cozy Glow said. She looked at Chrystalis. "...Never give up on your mother okay? Family is the most important thing in the world." Cozy said to Chrystalis said.

"That's...surprisingly thoughtful of you to say..." Twilight said.

"Well I may be a young filly, but I have my moments..." Cozy Glow said. Twilight smiled at this.

"You've come a long ways Cozy Glow...I'm proud of you." Twilight said. At this, Cozy Glow smiled. Not a fake smile like normal, but a genuine one.

"Nice smile." Chrystalis said. That caused Cozy Glow to blush.

"Golly...thanks..." Cozy Glow said. It feels nice to be praised like this. Perhaps forcing friendships was the wrong thing to do after all... Cozy Glow thought to herself.

Meanwhile, a faint glow could be seen coming from the Treehouse of Friendship.
