Luster Dawn's Journal: Entry Number Thirteen - An Apple's Core

So remember when I said there was something that happened in the lead up to Chrysalis coming to find her daughter Chrystalis? Well here comes what happened; and it was all a whole week ago. To give you some context, during rutting season, Diamond Tiara decided to swap places with her male counterpart Gold Watch. Gold Watch and Apple Bloom have been dealing with the rutting season together for a while now, but one day, the rutting season left them both. It wasn't until one week before Chrysalis showed up that a doctor came by and told us why...

ONE WEEK BEFORE CHRYSALIS'S APPERENCE

Castle of Friendship - Map Room

"APPLE BLOOM IS WHAT?!" Gold Watch shouted out as soon as the doctor figured out what was going on.

"It's like I told you...she's pregnant." The doctor said.

"And we've got another situation..." Twilight said, also there for the occasion. "...According to my magic analysis, if Apple Bloom gives birth in this world, Gold Watch will suddenly be treated as if he was from our world." Twilight stated. "And if I'm right, Diamond Tiara is pregnant in Gold Watch's world as well; and if she gives birth there, then it'll be treated as if she was from that world." Twilight said.

"But...what happens if Apple Bloom gives birth in my world while Diamond Tiara gives birth in your world?" Gold Watch asked.

"Then a similar situation will occur: Apple Bloom will be treated as if she was part of your world, while Apple Buck will be treated as if he was part of ours." Twilight said. Applejack was there too, hat in front of her face.

"This won't be an easy decision to make..." Applejack said. "But know that no matter which decision you two come to, ah I promise to support it 100%." She added.

"I...don't know if I can make this decision..." Gold Watch said and turned to Apple Bloom. "Which is why...I'm going to go with whatever Apple Bloom decides." He added. This caused Spoiled Rich to become stunned.

"You'd...really let Apple Bloom and Apple Buck decide who stays where?" Spoiled Rich asked. Gold Watch nodded.

"Despite our differences, I know Diamond Tiara cares for you just like how I care for my father. I would know, because I'm essentially her." Gold Watch said. "So I know Apple Bloom and Apple Buck will make the right choice for everyone involved." He said and nuzzled Apple Bloom. Everyone was now looking at Apple Bloom.

"Well Apple Bloom...this is a big decision for you to make..." Twilight Said.

"...It'll be tough going...but..." Apple Bloom said before looking at the rest of the CMC. "...At least I know that no matter what gender they may be, the CMC will always be my best friends, and also that best friends should stick together no matter what." Apple Bloom said before turning towards Silver Spoon. "...Even ones like Gold Watch and Blue Chip as well as Diamond Tiara and Blue Chip." Apple Bloom finished.

"Apple Bloom..." Silver Spoon said.

"...So I've made my decision..." Apple Bloom approached the mirror. "...Coming, Gold Watch?" She asked her colt. Tears filled Gold Watch's eyes.

"You have no idea how much this means to me..." Gold Watch said before Apple Bloom gave him a kiss.

"Trust me...ah know how much it means to you. Apple Buck too." Apple Bloom said before the duo took each other's hooves before jumping through the portal together. Once they jumped through, stumbling out of the portal was Diamond Tiara together with Apple Buck. Diamond Tiara took a glance back at the mirror.

"...You were right...I guess I shouldn't really be surprised..." Diamond Tiara said.

"What'd I tell you? Ah knew how much it meant to you. Apple Bloom too." Apple Buck said with a smile. "The future may be uncertain, but I know we'll all get through it together..." He added.

Author's Note

So yeah, even though I ship Apple Bloom and Diamond Tiara hard, I wanted to do a unique take on the dynamic by utilizing the idea found in "The Other Side" and basically have it be so that Apple Buck and Apple Bloom would be swapping places on a more permanent basis. Not that the swap really changes anything in regards to the AppleDiamond Ship to begin with, as Apple Buck and Apple Bloom are still at their core the same individual; one just so happens to be male while the other is female. Their personalities are the exact same, so the only thing that changes really is that it goes from being a lesbian relationship to a straight one and that's really about it.
