I examined my surroundings, still in shock from the nightmare I just had. The room was quite small, and relatively empty. The walls were colorless, cold, empty. I saw myself in their reflection, and felt a chill pierce through my heart. This place knew nothing of love and care. To my right was a small nightstand, left untouched, pure from paint and other variants of coloration.

My bed was relatively large; probably a twin size. The mattress sank in beneath my flank. Nowadays, self-adapting mattresses were a norm. I didn't bother turning on the lights; it was already midday, though how I could tell was still a mystery. Why can I see the sun, if a cloud cover looms beneath Neo-Equestria? I did fall through the barrier, right?

Ugh... Maybe it's time for me to get up. Yeah, some movement should do me some good. Carefully, I reached for the floor. It was frozen, or so I thought. I could see my reflection everywhere. Wait... Reflection... Woah! What the heck?! My wings are intact! No... The color scheme's a little different, and their design seems tweaked. Hmm... I could have sworn the beams were gold. Although, I am a fan of these shorter, black ones. They really make my feathers stick out. They're much smaller too! Let's see... Woah! They flap so fast! Hey, I'm hovering! That's awesome! Sure, there's gust, but still! Freaking hovering!

"Do you like them?" My heart stopped for a moment. I fell face first on the floor. It really was frozen, or at the very least extremely cold. "I apologize in advance for the floor. Master absolutely insists. He likes the cold." My limbs were still sore. Getting up wasn't the first thing on my mind. "May I ask you a question sir?"

"Go ahead," I mumbled, still in pain. I'm pretty sure if you looked, you'd see frost beneath me. You'd think I would have gotten used to sheer cold, considering I lived above the clouds. "I apologize in advance if I may offend you, but where did you get the SkyMetal for your wings?" Huh? SkyMetal? "What are you talking about?"

"The SkyMetal your wings were made of; where did you find it?" I sensed unease in her voice. "My wings? Oh! Are you interested? I could contact my BlackSmith."

"Even Master does not have a Blacksmith, despite his... Trade corporation! Are you some kind of billionaire?!" What the hell type of question was that? "No... I'm just a history major from Neo-Equestria..." I had just enough strength to turn around. A sudden impulse of adrenaline coursed through my veins, as I saw her grab a machete, dashing towards me. What the heck?! Is she nuts?! She barely missed me by less than a centimeter.

"Die you spy! We will not conform to your demands!" What demands?! Ah! Stop this crap! Gyah! Barely dodged that one! "What the heck are you talking about?! You think I fell through the clouds on my own free will?" It's no use if she won't listen! "Why would a spy come here with wrecked wings?" I heard a deep, gruff voice ask behind me. The maid stopped, and dropped the machete.

"I apologize for her sudden assault. Ai! Apologize." She bowed. My face turned red. "I... I apologize sir," she mumbled backing away towards the door.

"Ai! Stay. You only did what you had to do. There was no way of knowing." He turned to me, pointing at my cutie mark, and said: "Welcome to the Surface Flames of Fate. I am Silver, and we have been expecting you."
