Really, you have been here for a week and already contacted me?

Okay.... I know I'm partly faulty for this by taking pity on the noob, so no harm done. (I think)

First, I have to tell you that I'm not so high up to everything about the bureau, but I had "accidentally" stumbled into some of the agency documents, just tips and bits. But I will try to answer your question, but don't expect much. So let's get down to it.

"What is the origin of the agency"

Who knows?
And WHY do you need to know when you just have to do your job?
Well, whatever.
The agency is old, like, REALLY old. I had some friends within the higher ups who told me that it was founded by Starswirl the bearded, but I really don't know.
To tell the truth, no one beyond the council knows, and probably it will stay this way.

"I was looking in the files, and we had to use more science than magic. Do you know why?"

Many of the anomalies we deal with don't react well to magic, in fact, some even delight in it. So, no. No magic.
Besides, the way magic usually works is getting...unusual, to say the least. I certainly think that the higher ups know why, but it is better not to pry too much. Maybe you could discover the truth, as you are a researcher, right.

I wish it could be a simple answer like "I like you" or "you're a beautiful Colt and I in love" but, unfortunately for you, it has nothing to do with it.

The truth is. I KNOW WHY YOU ARE HERE, AND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.

Because of this, I'm making a bet on helping you, even if I could get in trouble because of it. How I know about it is not important. But, besides me, you have really no one you could trust in this agency.

I believe that some of the chiefs are getting suspicious of me writing things. (because I'm too cool to normally do that.)
