The family of three were enjoying a peaceful morning together, however another piece of James's past had decided to show itself. His ex-girlfriend, Samantha. Nicknamed Sammy.

James had quickly gone out to grab the three of them a drink and something to eat. As he left the small coffee shop, a voice spoke up. Someone he once knew and never wanted to see again. The pain was too much. She was his first ever girlfriend, after all.

"Jimmy? Is that really you?" Samantha asked the doppleganger of Wolverine. However, he simply looked away from her to ignore her. As if she was a fly annoying him.

"What do ya want?" He growled annoyed, glaring at her.

"I-I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have judged you like I did back at the drag strip race-." She tried to profusely apologize to him in hopes to try and get him back as he cut her off.

"Do not bring up what fucking happened ta me back then. Fuck off and stay outta mah life. Ah want nothing ta do with ya. Go find someone else ta date who's human and someone ya can at least tolerate and like fer what they are." James growled. His voice full of disgust and hatred at her for what she did to him all those years ago. The pain was there and she was bringing it all back. He didn't want that. He didn't want to remember her.

"Please James, honey-" She tried to beg, only to be interrupted again by him.

"Do not call me sweet nicknames. We're not together anymore. Ah have a life now, and yer not a part of it." He stated sharply, his eyes narrowed at hers.

"I'm so sorry James, please, take me back, I want you back in my life." Samantha begged, tears streaming down her face as he looked away in anger and disgust.

"No. Ah'm never takin ya back. Ah have someone ah love. Ya need ta move on, find someone new." James retorted furiously.

He began walking away from her and back to his pickup truck. He climbed in and started the ignition, preparing to drive off back home.

Samantha wanted to follow him and be with him. She walked back to her car just as he drove off.

She tried to find where his car had gone, but couldn't find him. Samantha broke down and cried into her arms, she regretted what she did to him, she still loved him and she wanted him to love her back. But she didn't know how to get him back.

That is until she spotted the vehicle's distinct light blue paint and muddy tires. She began to follow him to a large amount of land, locked off to everyone else unless they had the keycode to open the small metal gate which opened allowing him access. He drove into his home's estate as the gate behind him closed.

Samantha parked it at the gate and climbed over it. She knew what she was doing was illegal, but she wanted to see where he lived on this giant estate. And with whom.

She watched as the pickup truck parked next to a large house, the outside of the building a cream white. She tried to look through the silver titanium door, the rectangular object preventing her from going in.

"Samantha ya need ta leave. This is private property owned by S.H.I.E.L.D." James warned as he cocked his shotgun, reloading it with four new shells.

"Please, I want you, I need you!" She begged him, hoping he would reconsider and take her back.

"No, Ah have a wife, someone ah'm remaining loyal ta." James growled aggressively towards his ex lover.

"You're married? Since when?" Samantha asked confused. She hadn't noticed the ring on his finger. That was until she noticed it. She looked at it with shock as she noticed the exact same ring on Sunset's ring finger.

"Who are you? And what are you doing here?" Sunset questioned the girl. She noticed an expression of anger and sadness on her husband's face as he stared at the red-haired woman. Unpleasant memories coming back to him.

"Honey, do you know this woman?" Sunset asked him softly.

James sighed and nodded, planning on how he would tell her.

"Sunset, this is Samantha. Before ah met, dated and married ya, ah dated Samantha here. But that was fer a few months. Because during a drag strip race mah front tire blew out, causing mah car ta tumble down a hillside and explode. Ah survived because of mah healing factor. Once she saw what ah was, a mutant, she was disgusted by me and broke up with me there and then." James explained sharply. Annoyance, anger and sadness clear in his tone.

"Let me get this straight, Samantha. You broke up with him just because he's a mutant? Are you fucking serious?" Sunset angrily thundered to the now fearfully cowering red-head.

"His species were different and weird! They weren't normal and they never will be! I want to take him back because I feel bad for how I treated him and his species." Samantha tried to explain fearfully.

"Oh, so just because he was a mutant you couldn't stand being with him? If he was human would you have broken up with him and left him like you did?" Sunset asked furiously. Silence was all she needed to get a clear answer.

"How could you hate an amazing and wonderful species such as his?! They may be different and odd but they have helped us humans so many times yet many of us don't realize how much they've helped us. James included." Sunset stated, noticing him blushing.

"Ah don't want ya back, Samantha. Ah can never forgive ya fer what ya did that day. Leave." James growled. Anger clear in his tone. A small hint of sadness hidden in his voice.

"You disgusting racist and selfish bitch! How could you hurt such a sweet, loyal, kind, protective, loving and amazing guy?! I've never met a girl who is as evil and selfish as you!" Sunset thundered at the red-headed woman in pure disgust for how she treated James, her husband.

"James please I'm sorry! Please give me another chance!" She begged one last time.

"No. Leave. Now." James growled spitefully. Cocking his shotgun as he held her at gunpont.

Samantha sniffled as she begrudingly walked back to the gate and climbed over it. She walked back to her car and drove off. She refused to accept that he was married and didn't want her instead.

Sunset looked at James and noticed his muscles tense in anger. So that was why he had never brought her up.

"Ah can understand if yer mad at me fer not telling ya about her." James sadly stated, looking away in shame.

"Sweetie, I'm not mad. I can understand why you wouldn't want to talk about her. I'm so sorry for what she did to you that day. Just because you are different and she can't accept that. It breaks my heart knowing you were hurt that bad." Sunset lovingly crooned, rubbing his arm consolingly,

"Ya helped heal that pain by loving me , wanting ta stay with me knowing yer immortal and willing ta live with that. Ah've never known a woman that loyal." James retorted, kissing her softly for a few minutes before pulling away and walking back into their home with Sunset.

The couple then spent the rest of the day together relaxing and enjoying themselves to their heart's content.

James felt somewhat better about this happening. It felt like a massive burden had been lifted and he felt much better. The painful heavy feeling in his chest releasing.

Soon it was time for everyone to sleep. Their daughter had fallen asleep and was out like a light.

As james closed his eyes he heard Sunset singing softly. Her beautiful and melodic voice making him completely relaxed. He allowed her voice to ease him to sleep.

As sunset finished the song she noticed that James had fallen asleep as she sang. She giggled and kissed his cheek goodnight before snuggling into his arms and fell asleep soon after.
