Chapter 1: Whatever happened to Master?
The cold and dark library seemed like an endless maze to 'Wolf'.
but to Master, it had no relevance whatsoever.
He only cared to find the one thing he needed. Presumably, some powerful spell that probably belonged to Star Swirl the bearded. Did he even know who that was? But whatever that was, he wouldn't eat, sleep, drink, or do anything else until it's found. Ages upon Ages, and still, no satisfaction. Master lost all emotion. Well, to 'Wolf' at least. The only ounce of feeling that Master had was disappointment. Everything else was gone. Shattered from loss of all hope that he'll get out with a simple object of value that he desired. After departure from his canine friend, he was alone. No longer having an assistant to help him in this pointless search, he had to do it alone .
Walking, Walking, Walking...
Dead silence. The only sounds to accompany master were his hoofsteps and magic aura lifting books upon books, searching for the correct title, echoing in the long and empty halls of the library. It's not like the torch flames were eternal, right?
but he had no time for that. He needed to find that thing. That thing , whatever it was, even if it's the last thing he did before he departs from the soft, yet ice cold arms of life. In this house of madness, there was no day or night. There was no time. Many years had passed and Master didn't feel a thing. Even after Wolf and Teric met, Master kept searching, and it's already been 167 years, yet Master doesn't feel any older. So now he questions himself and his goals, his aims, his ambitions . He never dared question them before, but now he did. That was the only thing besides searching that would keep him from venturing into insanity. His mental state, it was completely ruined and he needed a break. Coincidentally, Wolf, otherwise known as Doctor Wolf is a therapist. If only master could leave, he would've taken the opportunity.
This Doctor wasn't just any doctor. It was Wolf himself, who lived with him, helped him, and aided him for centuries. But no, that book of some sort was much more important. This wolf grew up and became a doctor, and he had no idea. he never thought of that because he never knew it happened. he missed his assistant's greatest feats.
But why? Why can't he just... Go there? Why let himself fall in a deep hole where there wasn't enough time yet it never passed? Was he intentionally torturing himself, If so, then...
why....?
With the small ounces of sanity he had, those were his final thoughts before his state of mind was stopped completely. All his braincells refused to cooperate and all he had was horrible memories of what he's been doing for 538 years. Such a foolish pony he was, he thought. He's worked himself to the point of no return. When he Could've gone back and started a new life, he didn't. Such a foolish pony he was. Usually master would not cry, but he couldn't. He cried himself to sleep and for who knows how long, he gave in to a long slumber in a large corridor where there was nothing but bookshelves.
Millenia later, Master would be in luck. The desert's landscape had changed completely and half the library was cemented into the sediments. Master woke up in A hallway where the was light. Part of the roof was gone, and his back ached like it was broken. Gingerly, he tried walking to the light he hasn't seen in so long, surprised to see that a small tribe of Saddle Arabian ponies-- or what he thought were ponies had settled near the library. Finally. After so long, he can contact another living being again.
Slowly, but somewhat painfully walking out of the library and following the light from the roof, he finally breathed air again.
That's when one of the camels saw him.
"Ah, Is that a pony I see? Us camels are honored to have you here in our home. What brings you here all alone in the desert?"
Master could only utter a word.
"Wolf..."
"Wolf? I think I saw one while we were traveling. There was also a green dragon, maybe I was imagining things."
"W- What happened... to Wolf..?"
"Not sure, but he looked very tired, and the dragon was trying to keep him alive."
Master stared in terror.
"Did he di-"
"Hopefully the wolf and that dragon are okay. If you really wanna know, go to Ponyville. There's a therapist there and he's a wolf. The only one in town."
Master was caught off guard from all the events he missed out on. He needed to thank the dragon for keeping his apprentice alive and well, he needed to see his helper again. To see how much he's improved and grown without him.
"I see. Well, um, I'll be on my way."
"Don't forget to visit!"
"Of course."
"Oh, and you never told us your name. What is it anyway?"
But Master was already gone.
"I guess it's best not to know then?"
The camels nodded.
Master ran on the soft golden sands, and eroded sediment after sediment into different location as his hooves came in contact with the hot ground. The heat of the sun was blazing, and he knew he should stop running and take it easy before he gets a stroke. So he did. As his pace gradually decreased, Master used his forcefield spell to protect himself, which gave him some nostalgic thoughts of traveling with Wolf.
"Those were the days..."
He thought. he had nothing with him other than his magic to help him survive. He thought, he'd have to make pit stops to keep his health well enough that he could reach his destination.
This, this was a start of a new journey to see an old friend again.
Was he ever considered a friend? He seems to have unlocked a side of their relationship he's never seen before.
But now he's seen things.
He'll show his gratitude to that green dragon who saved his assistant's life.
He'll tell stories of what happened to him while he was gone, to his former assistant and good friend he calls Wolf.

Chapter 2: The Office / Visions
It's been so many years since Master travelled in this desert, Hoping he remembers at least 2 landscapes that will help him reach Ponyville faster.
"I should've sketched a map."
He muttered, as he eyed the countless hills of sand in the desert, searching for at least one place that seems even the slightest of familiarity to him. Everything looked the same. Cacti stood in their places, each and every plateau striped with the same shade of yellow, Tumbleweed bounced across the ground. However, the sheer monotony of the job didn't stop him. It's only been days, and we finally left the desert. He stopped to extract drinkable water from cacti on his way, keeping his health up. What stood before him was a green grassland.
"Ponyville is close. I can feel it."
Well, he's right. He just needs to pass through the Everfree forest and he'll be on his way.
As Master set hoof in the forest, he remembered how scary it was back then. All fillies were not allowed to go there, looking around, Master tried to carefully avoid every plant and animal he speculated to be dangerous.
"Somepony actually lives here?"
He said, as he saw Zecora's house in the forest. A few patches of vine and moss later, there he was. Ponyville was visible in he distance above the hills. Multiple houses all stacked near each other. The same hay-made roofs, concrete walls, and flowering trees as he saw when he was in Equestria before traveling to the white blizzard where he found Wolf. Just more polished. That was home, and his assistant, now friend lives there.
He ran all the way to the town square as fast as he can, searching for Wolf wherever he can.
"Hey, do you know where I can find Dr. Wolf?"
"He's in his office, having therapy sessions with a line of ponies that need help."
"Where is his office, exactly?"
"One leap straight ahead, then two turns to the right."
"Thanks!"
Master then followed the instructions, and ran all the way until he found a house-like building that looked like where he should find Wolf. He slowly walked through he door into the hallway, and looked around his environment. There seems to have been many pictures of his patients, and they all looked so happy. He seems to have done a very good job.
"I think I might need one of these."
Master walked further through the hallway, to find a door entitled with:
"Office".
there was a small window in the door, where he looked to check if the room was free.
He was still busy with a patient, it seemed. Master intends to leave, and after he passed a few walls, the patient left the room.
"Huh. I guess it's free now."
then Master had second thoughts.
rather convenient, don't you think?
suspiciously convenient if you ask me. Eh, what do I know? I'm just a narrator.
Master then left the building and decided to rent the nearest building with the bits that he had, for a 3 day long stay before he could confront his assistant. After all, he too, had a job and a new life before he can be ready to see him once more.
Master needed a break before he met Wolf after all these years. For now, let's end Master's part of the story and shift our Focus to Dr. Wolf. Going back to the therapy session, which featured flash sentry.
"Mr. Sentry, just because others see you as unlikeable or unpleasant, does not mean you really are that way."
"But everyone gave me looks for the past month and I had no idea.. What did I ever do wrong?"
Then Doc saw Master behind the door.
"I must be seeing things..."
He thought.
"Don't worry about that Mr. Sentry. You did nothing wrong, people just don't really find clichés all that interesting. No offense, that is. You are fine the way you are. Just remember to be happy about who you are! Only true friends don't care about your bad qualities."
"Thanks for the advice doc! I'll be sure to take care of myself, you too."
"No problem, Mr. Sentry."
Flash Sentry then walked out of the door happily and waved goodbye.
Doctor takes his time, and took a deep breath. He was a bit concerned over master's supposed presence.
"It's good to be helping."
It was already late in the morning when flash came, and no one ever realized how fast time flies,
It's already night. As of why Wolf seemed to have seen his depiction of Master behind the door, he tried forgetting the event for now so he can come back to it later. Wolf walks into his lavatory, so he can brush his teeth before hitting the hay and going to sleep, and stared into the mirror for some time.
"Am I imagining things? Or is he actually here...?"
At this moment, Doc was zoning out. He blindly put the cap back on the toothpaste and brush back in it's cup, and started washing his face. Then, he snapped back to reality, and realized, as he was washing his face, he accidentally scratched his eye. Small amounts of fluid were seeping from the cut, and he knew he'd have to sanitize it before bacteria invaded his face. He washed it, and as he tried to reach out and grab the first aid kit as quickly as he can, he fell straight to the floor; The floor was wet. He painfully got up, and bandaged his eye. Turns out the cut was deep, and he was scared it might take too long to heal. His hand was covered in liquid, so he went back to wash it, and still, the hand was dirty. The dirtiness, however, was less visible so he thought that this was acceptable.
It was finally time that Doc went to sleep, as he was confident the bed wouldn't be stained after this episode.
So he shut his eyes, and tried to sleep. He twisted and turned, shifting the blanket from one side to another, as he saw visions of Master. Master looked as emotionless as he saw him since all these years, and could not bear to see him that way. Doc clenched onto the pillow as he tried to resist the visions he had, but to no avail. His slumber has already started, and he was having a nightmare. Everyone he knew, he saw, they were all disappearing. They were all leaving him alone.
He didn't like that. He was in an empty black void, in a large hallway where there was nothing but bookshelves, stacked up near each other. Master stood before him, and he looked angry, as if he's about to unleash his wrath upon him.
Doc backed away, but it was too late.
He had been electrocuted by a laser beam, which would slowly deform him.
He was, quite literally, being turned back into a normal wolf, and the pain felt so, very, real .
It's Good to be Conquering
Chapter 4: It's Good to be Conquering
Magic lessons? hasn't Master already learned enough of tho- nevermind. he's somewhat behind in mind and memory spells.
it's subtle, but it's there.
"Alright, if I don't want to talk to anypony, and also see wolf again, then I know what to do."
while thumbing (though without hands) through book after book in the shelf at his apartment, he found an old spell book about the mind.
"Suits him right. Therapist, mind spell, it only makes sense. Now all I need to do is figure out how to enter, or well, share our thoughts."
then again. he flipped the pages of the literary text before him and found it. a spell that might work.
"Similar to dream spells... but it shall suffice."
His horn sparked. The bright light seemed to imply it worked. Forget the weird unicorn who crashed a bookshelf, forget everypony who bothered to speak. This will be the most important moment of his age-old life.
Then a long flash of light. The brightness settled down in a dark atmosphere where there was... a throne?
In front of that throne was a wide screen showing the entirety of Equestria and beyond. This can't be right.
Master was about to try again, and then he stopped himself, just in case. He tried to see if anyone was there.
He didn't hear anyone, however, he did hear chanting.
"All Hail Wolf."
"All Hail Wolf."
"All Hail Wolf."
"..."
He was in the right mind. This is clearly the one he's been looking for, and its not what he expected.
"What is this...?"
Then there was a response.
"Master, is it?"
Then he confirmed.
"How convenient." He said in an eerily tone, as he caressed his Fluttershy doll.
"Well, it's good to see you too, Wo- Dr. Wol-"
"You must be... Wondering."
"Whatever it is, I'll try to answer it."
"Where were you when I needed you most?"
"I... I escaped the library thanks to... Um, Camels of all things. Then I journeyed my way here."\
Then an awkward silence.
"Camels... are non-existent."
"Wait. Camels don't exist..? then that means..."
Lord Wolf lifts his palm to silence Master.
"But... how did I-"
"Now enough psycho-analysis, Do you want to know why this is what you see before you?"
"..."
"Well, it all occured to me today when a familiar face had entered Ponyville. Then it was everywhere."
"Isn't that what you... want? Don't you want to see me..?"
"I'm not your number one assistant, right? I'm not your apprentice. I'm not... Your friend."
"You're not... Wolf..?"
"No, I certainly am not."
The throne is rotated slowly to emphasize suspense, as a crooked and depressed looking wolf with a Fluttershy plush that he caressed, and a scarred eye as all equestria's ponies all chant:
"All Hail Wolf."
"I am Lord Wolf."
"Look, I've just discovered friendship. Something even my mentor, Starswirl the Bearded never knew. Maybe if we just talk, I might even sacrifice myself for you if I had to. We can compromise, and-"
"Then Perish."
"..."
"Oh, I apologize for inconveniencing you. Please leave, Or..."
"Or..?"
"I'll make you."
"But you can still be reformed.. You've learned more about friendship than I-"
"After all... It's good to be Conquering."
"..."
Lord Wolf pulls a small remote out of the openable stitch of his Fluttershy doll's back. He presses it.
Then... His transformation was being shown on the screen behind his enlarged throne, as he held on to the doll very tightly.
As if this room was getting hotter, like Dr. Wolf was nervous.
"Huh..?"
"I never understood why you did what you did... Master."
"This..."
"Why? Why did you? What were you looking for?... Who even are you...?"
"I... You may call me... Friend."
Lord Wolf smiles a bit.
"Thank you."
Mast- I mean, Friend, smiles back.
Everything goes white. Master awakens in the library again. Back hurting, neck twisted, but he's seen it before. He's seen it all before, and it was time that everything be fixed, started with more socializing and an apology.
"A redo. I wonder if Camels don't exist or not. If this all turns out right, then it's best to think my subconscious is trying to tell me something."
I also have no idea how he managed to think up such a thing which is also very accurate, considering he has no idea what was happening at all. Maybe weird logic. This probably concludes the story, I guess. Anyways Master goes over to Ponyville again using a similar path, but there were no Camels this time. Maybe they do exist, just didn't move here yet. Good morning Ponyville, Goodbye weird subconscious message, and Hello new, better reality.
Author's Note
Here you go. I know the chapters before were filler, but Eh, I tried. I guess to explain this unicorn magic did some magic stuff to Master's thoughts, I think? yeah, let's just go with that.
Edit 2: I fixed some stuff, because I thought, yes, while Dr. Wolf is the lectures guy, I think Lord Wolf would talk a lot less, and would probably only say short but meaningful phrases.
It's Good to be Conquering
Master stood infront of the office door, waiting for the session to finish.
"They're probably concerned about that injury, but I can't really blame them."
Then the patient exited the room. Simple and sincere, he thought to himself. He was about to talk to his friend. For real this time.
Then a knock.
Dr. Wolf came to open, and there he was. He stood in his place, thinking he was just a figment of his imagination.
Then Master shook Dr. Wolf's paw.
"Greetings."
"Is... it really you...?"
"Indubitably."
"Greetings to you, Master. it's been a long time, hasn't it?"
"Not too long."
"I thought you were-"
"I've dealt with life myself."
"I'm glad you're doing well as of now."
"Well, it was all thanks to you, well, my depiction of you. Once a wise wolf told me.. It's good to be conquering."
"That doesn't sound much like me, but, then again, let's start the session and discuss your problems to find a way to help you with them."
then both Master and Dr. Wolf think together.
"After all, It's good to be helping."
