{Alex}

We finally headed out to go catch Pinkie. As promised, I turned off flyer mode on my bike. We found the bar that was in my vision and took seats at the counter. Everyone ordered drinks except for Twilight, she didn't like alcoholic drinks so I ordered her a soda. I was still trying to figure out a good pet name for her, but I couldn't come up with anything.

How's about Ms. Innocent? Star thought.

Yeah, no, I don't think that fits her. Even though she does look innocent at everything she does.

Awww.

I looked to see that Pinkie had entered the bar. She sat down and ordered a drink. After she got her drink she looked up and paused when she saw us. "Why you little pain in my ass! That's it, I'm out of here."

Before Pinkie could even come close to exiting the bar we stopped her. She snarled and took out her gun.

"As if you would kill us in a public place," Twilight said, "and with all of these witnesses around."

"Oh yeah I will!" Pinkie snarled.

There was a short silence between us. She looked like she was trying to figure out if she wanted to kill me or Twilight. She made her decision by aiming her gun at me. I saw Pinkie fire her gun at me and I fell backward.

"No!" Twilight shrieked. That was the last thing I heard before I hit the ground and everything went dark.

{Twilight}

I paced back and forth in the waiting room at the hospital. I was waiting for the doctor to come out and tell me Alex was dead. The wound Alex got, nopony comes back from that, nopony! Finally, the doctor came out with a puzzled look on his face.

"What is it?" I asked.

"It seems Mr. Shipman might have friends in high places," The doctor answered, "Patients with the type of injury he had arrive DOA. But his injury has healed and his heart only stopped for one second and came back beating stronger than ever!"

"What?" Everyone and I gasped.

The doctor nodded. "Uh-huh, he's in the ICU sleeping now. You can go see him any time you like. If he agrees, I would like to do a study on him. It's too bad the person that shot him disappeared before the police could get to her. I'm pretty sure they'll find her."

I sighed, "I doubt that. But okay, I would like to go see Alex now."

The doctor nodded, "He's down the hall in ICU unit 2."

"Thank you."

When Violet, Simon, Abigail, and I arrived at Alex's room, we were stunned to see Alex alive and well. He was just laying there, sound asleep.

"I don't know how this happened. But as long as you're still alive Alex, that's all I care about."

The exploding star crystal that was around Alex's neck lit up and a voice came from it. "Please everyone, I can explain."

The door to Alex's room closed on its own and the curtains were drawn. A bright light flashed and out of Alex's exploding star crystal came a woman in white robes staring at us. "Hi there, my name is Star. I'm the one that's been helping Alex deal with his powers. At first I wasn't sure if he was a half child of a god named Hugo, but given this chain of events, I've confirmed it. He is a half child of a god named Hugo."

"Wait, wait! Time out!" Simon said. He made the timeout sign as if to call a timeout on a buckball game. "You mean to tell us that Alex is-"

Star nodded, "Yup! Alex is half human and half god. There is a long story of how this came to be. It's gonna take a while to explain."

Star wasn't kidding when she said it would take a long time to explain. It took her over an hour to explain everything to us.

"Some half children don't have any abilities at all. The key indicator is the ability to see the future." Star said.

"So is Alex immortal then?" I asked.

Star shook her head, "From what I know of, a half child can live up to three hundred years. But it seems like Alex is one of a kind. So it's possible he might live longer. From what I know, the only thing that can kill a half child is old age."

"Whoa." We said in response to that. I was more amazed by this than anyone else.

"Yup, well, Alex is getting ready to wake up soon. Time for me to go back in," Star said.

She went inside her crystal and that was when Alex started to stir.

{Alex}

When I opened my eyes, I groaned. My heart was beating like I had just run a marathon. I looked over to see Twilight, Violet, Simon, and Abigail looking at me with relieved looks on their faces. I looked around to see that I was in a hospital room.

I blinked, "Okay, what happened?"

"Do you remember Pinkie shooting you with her gun?" Violet asked.

"Well, yeah, I just fell over backwards and passed out." I replied.

"Well, your exploding star crystal named Star confirmed you are a half child to a god named Hugo," Twilight said, "Which makes sense because the wound you got, nopony can come back from that! You came back from it like it was nothing! The doctors want to keep you for observation just to make sure you're okay."

"Oh." It took me a moment or two to process the information Twilight just told me. At that moment I came up with a pet name for her. It's funny because before I got shot, I didn't think it fit her. Even looking at her now, she just looked so innocent. The way she was smiling at me, happy that I was alive, she looked so innocent just doing that.

Twilight looked at me and tilted her head. "What?"

I shook my head, "It's nothing."

You know, I think you should start calling Twilight by her pet name now. Star thought.

Huh?

Oh I get it, Star teased, You're just chicken. I'm going to take a wild guess and say you've never felt this way about someone before. Although in this case it's somepony.

I guess you could say that. Twilight is different. I can't explain how I feel about her.

Understandable.

Visiting hours were over, Violet, Simon, Abigail, and Twilight got up to leave. Twilight smiled at me, "Don't worry Alex, I'll be here for you first thing in the morning."

"Thanks," I said, "my innocent."

Twilight paused. "Huh, oh that's your-" she giggled, "I see. I have one for you. You're my god pony. See you tomorrow."

As I watched Twilight leave, I couldn't help but smile. She really did look innocent to me in every sense of the word.

{Hugo}

Although I felt stunned by what just happened with Alex, it made me proud of him at the same time.

"He was going to find out he's a half child sooner or later." Zane said, pointing out the obvious.

"Yeah, but I didn't think it would be by him getting shot through the heart," I said, "I didn't have a vision about that."

Zane titled his head with a puzzled look. "Don't you always have visions?"

I shook my head and explained, "Not every second of the day. A lot of times, they just happen. Other times, I can zero in on what I need to see in the future, since you're my sibling, that's how I'm able to see you coming. I'm going to assume that's what Alex is able to do with Twilight because they love each other now."

"Huh, I see. But you couldn't see what was going to happen with Alex?"

"Not really, I can see the main events as far as Alex goes, but now that the main events have happened, I'm not sure if I'll be able to see anything else in his future," I looked at the time and sighed, "Well, it's time for us to get back to work."

Even though I still had to do my job as ruler of the Underground, I wanted to see how Alex's powers would develop.

{Alex}

I was still reeling from the information that I've received about being confirmed that I'm a half child of a god named Hugo. I wondered if that's why mom kept saying that she didn't know where my dad was. It's possible that she really didn't know where Hugo lived.

Wow, so I'm a half child and Hugo is my father.

Yeah I know right? But from what I know of, I should've seen this coming because every time an exploding star is given to someone, with a being like me in it, that means the person is a possible half child. The half child often needs help with their developing powers. Which I'm pretty sure, you'll develop more powers other than being able to see the future and talk to the dead.

Lovely. I had no idea why I didn't want to have any more powers at the moment. I guess it was because I already had enough to deal with, people relying on my ability to see the future in order to help catch Pinkie.

I understand not wanting anymore powers. I felt the same way too after I started developing mine as I became of age growing up in the Star Clan.

I laughed at the thought that my exploding crystal had a person in it, named Star and she came from a family called the Star Clan.

Yeah, yeah, I'm named Star and my family is called the Star Clan. Hilarious, I know.

That made me laugh even harder. Star thought, Okay Alex, yeah, might want to stop laughing so the doctors don't think you've gone insane.

Oh. I composed myself just in time, to see that Twilight had just entered the room. It was the next morning and Twilight came back just like she promised. It didn't surprise me because when she says she's going to do something, so far she's kept her word on it.

"Hey Alex," said Twilight. "How's my god pony doing today?"

"I'm fine, my innocent." I replied.

"I heard you laughing as I was coming down the hallway," Twilight smiled, "What were you laughing about?"

I paused, trying to figure out how to explain to Twilight about Star.

"Well you see Terra, um, remember when I said my exploding star crystal was named Star?"

Twilight nodded. "Oh yeah, she talked to us moments before you woke up."

"Ex-" I started to say. That was when Star thought, Yeah , I talked to Twilight. Violet, Simon and Abigail know about me also.

"Well, Star can communicate with me by thought when she's talking to me," I said, turning my attention back to Twilight, "What exactly did Star tell you?"

"Well, she told me that she confirmed that you're a half child," Twilight responded, "You're a half child of a god named Hugo. That's why you're my god pony. Honestly, I don't care how you're still alive. I just care that you're alive, and from now on, not only am I going to get you to laugh and feel okay about it, which you're getting there almost, but I'm going to protect you with everything I got. You might be half god, but that doesn't mean you don't have feelings. It's important to me that you feel good and happy."

Aww, that's so cute! She really is innocent with everything she does! Star teased.

Ha, ha Star. I smiled, "Anyway, Star just told me, her family is called the Star Clan. That's what I was laughing about."

Twilight chuckled, "Yeah that is pretty funny! A woman named Star that comes from a family called the Star Clan. What, did they run out of names for her or something?"

I couldn't hold in my laughter. Trust me, I tried very hard to. Twilight laughed right along with me. I stopped laughing when I heard footsteps coming towards my room. There was a knock on the door and Twilight answered it.

"Hi guys!" Twilight said, "How's it going?"

"We heard Alex laughing as we came around the corner," Violet said, "What was that all about?"

I looked in horror at Twilight and motioned for her not to tell Violet anything. Twilight rolled her eyes when I did that. "Seriously Alex, you really need to get past the laughing thing. As I said before, I'm going to help you with that."

"As I told you before Terra," Violet said, "Good luck with that. Since you've made it your mission to make him laugh, you'll probably be doing that until the day he dies. Which will be three hundred years from now."

"But three hundred years is a long time. I'm plenty sure that I'll find a way to make him laugh." Twilight stated.

I looked over when I heard Simon and Abigail laughing.

"Aww your girlfriend's so cute Alex!" Abigail said. She looked at Violet. "Too bad she's taken. Although…"

I tried not to laugh as Abigail gave Violet a flirting smile. Violet raised her eyebrow. "What?"

Abigail blushed and looked away. "It's nothing, nothing at all."

Simon noticed it too as I saw him chuckle to himself and Twilight was chuckling right along with him.

Violet had a puzzled look on her face. "What's so funny?"

"Oh nothing," I teased, "I think we're just going to wait until you see the light."

At this point Violet seemed confused judging by the look on her face, "Huh? I don't get it."

Wow, looks like someone doesn't know how to pick up on a hint that's been dropped right into her lap. As a matter of fact, maybe Abigail should sit on her lap to make things more clear? Star thought.

"Uh, Ryker?" Simon asked, "Could you come here for a moment?" He motioned for Abigail to follow him.

Abigail nodded. "Sure."

Simon pulled Abigail off to the side and whispered something into her ear. "Seriously Carter?"

"Hey, I'm just saying you probably should be straightforward with her. She clearly doesn't know how to pick up on a hint that you just dropped." Simon laughed.

"Fine." Abigail growled.

Abigail came back into the room, and pulled Violet into her arms and French kissed her right in front of everyone. Violet blushed after the kiss. "Um… Okay."

I literally bit my tongue and thought, Nope, not gonna laugh.

Twilight grinned. "Wow. If that isn't straight forward, I don't know what is."

I felt happy for Violet. I hope this new relationship works out for her.
