{Twilight}

Even though I was panicked about Alex becoming Pinkie's next research victim, I was happy that Alex was finally able to laugh in front of people. I fell for Alex before we got together but I wasn't sure if he had feelings for me until I helped him break up with his awful girlfriend Mary. What I'm even more worried about is his emotional state than anything else.

Knowing how strong my connection is with Alex, it made me want to be with him for as long as possible. When Alex went to sleep for the night, I cast the sleeping spell on him to make sure that he would sleep for a while. I got permission to go back through the portal and talk to Princess Luna about how I was feeling. I knew getting some sort of ring for Alex would be involved. So I got his measurements but I wasn't sure about everything else as far as what I wanted to do goes.

Princess Luna asked me to come to her room and sit down on the couch so I could talk to her.

"So, what is so important about this ring you want to get for Alex?" Princess Luna asked with a smile.

"Well, I know I've had feelings for him ever since I heard about what he went through with his awful ex-girlfriend Mary. I wanted to protect his emotional state more than his physical state," I said.

Princess Luna raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Why not both?"

So I explained to Princess Luna that Alex is half god and half human. When Princess Luna heard this her jaw dropped. "Wow, I sensed a lot of magic coming from him when I first met him, but I didn't think he was that powerful! And yes, I have heard of Hugo, but I thought he was an old ponies tale and nothing more than that. So he's real, huh?"

I nodded. "Yup, he's real and that's why Alex is so talented at being able to see the future. As a matter of fact, he even knows how much time until a vision is going to happen!"

Princess Luna whistled at this, "You know something Twilight?"

"What?" I asked.

"When I first met Alex," Princess Luna said, "I was trying to set him up with you. Of course I did the classic line that you love books so much that you might marry one. But I did see something strange about him."

"Let me guess," I said, "you saw that he couldn't laugh in front of people, right?"

Princess Luna nodded. "Mhm, that's exactly what I noticed. So did you find out why that is?"

So I told her about what Alex has been through most of his life and she was floored about this also.

"Aww, the poor thing," said Princess Luna, shaking her head in dismay. "It's no wonder why you're worried about that with him. Well, I know exactly what you want to do now that you've filled me in on the details. You want to propose marriage to Alex."

I paused and then blinked. "Wait... What?"

Princess Luna giggled, "Oh Twilight, you know you've found the right pony or person in this case for you. That's why you want to buy a ring for him. From what I've been told, when a pony finds their mate they know just by the feel of their bond with them. It's so strong that they desire to give their potential mate a ring pledging their love for them. They don't know why that is but it happens. I have yet to have this feeling myself, but seeing that you want to give Alex a ring to pledge your love to him, it seems you have your mate.”

"Now I have done some research on how humans normally do that type of stuff and it's usually the man that proposes marriage and not the woman. However, there have been cases where a woman has proposed to a man, but it's very rare.”

"Since you are a pony of royalty, it is the duty of the mare to propose marriage whether it be to a stallion or another mare. Honestly, I think he'll say yes. Although knowing that e he's a human, well half human in this case, he'll probably be stunned when you propose. You two have only been together for how long now?"

"Um, a month and a half," I replied.

Princess Luna grinned. "Well, I can help you get the ring and you should probably practice before you propose."

I nodded. "Okay then."

It stunned me that Princess Luna knew exactly the way I felt about Alex.

{Alex}

To tell the truth, I was feeling nervous because of the vision that I saw about Twilight. I think Simon was trying to drop a big hint about what was coming up. I had a feeling it had something to do with a marriage proposal. I had been thinking of at least giving Twilight a promise ring but I wasn't sure about marriage yet because we've only been together for a month and a half.

I was pacing back and forth in the living room.

Would you stop freaking out Alex? Star thought, Maybe Twilight just wants to give you a gift or something?

Oh, it's going to be ‘or something’, I thought, I was thinking about at least getting her a promise ring but a marriage proposal? I mean I know I want to be with her for as long as possible but…

But what?

That was the moment I knew exactly how I felt about Twilight. I want to be with her for as long as possible. So I guess marriage could possibly be in our future. I snapped out my thoughts when Twilight came back from wherever she was.

"Um, Alex?" Twilight asked, "Can I talk to you about something?"

I nodded. "Sure."

I went and sat down on the couch and Twilight sat down beside me. Twilight took a breath and let it out. "Well, um, I've been thinking about doing this for a little while now. I was going to wait until we caught Pinkie but I really want to do this now. No, I'm not doing this because I think you're going to die by Pinkie's hand. I remember when I realized I had feelings for you."

"When was that?" I asked.

"When I first saw you having that painful power surge. I was up all night worried about you because I wanted to protect you. I knew that even if you didn't have feelings for me, that I would always be there for you," Twilight said, "I'm not worried about your physical state because you're a half god and all. I'm more worried about your emotional state."

I tilted my head. "My emotional state?"

Twilight nodded. "Uh-huh, mostly because of everything you've been through, especially with your awful ex-girlfriend Mary. I was glad when I finally got you away from her. It always feels good when I can help a friend out. Even if you don't accept my pledge, I still want you to have this anyway."

"Um, pledge?" I squeaked.

Twilight floated next to her with her magic a gift bag. She took out the exact same box that I saw in my vision. I gasped when she opened it. In the box was a ring with black edges around the band and a shimmering purple stripe in the middle of the black edges and that color was around the band. It was definitely an engagement ring made for a man.

Twilight seemed really nervous about what she was going to say next and I don't blame her, I would feel the same way if I was the one doing the proposing. "Okay Alex, from what Princess Luna told me it is the duty of the mare if they are part of the royal family, which I am, to purpose marriage. So this is not only a pledge to show my love for you. It's also a question. Will you marry me?"

As soon as Twilight asked the question I was stunned and speechless at first, because usually it's the man's responsibility to propose marriage, at least where I come from. Once I got over my shock, I nodded. "Yes Twilight, yes I'll marry you!"

Twilight smiled and with tears in her eyes she took the ring out of the box and slipped it on my finger. I let out a small chuckle, "You know where I come from, it's usually the man that does the proposing."

Twilight nodded. "Yeah, I know. Did you know Princess Luna tried to set me up with you from the very beginning?"

I chuckled, "Yup, she said something to the effect of you love books so much you marry one. Then she added ‘and oh by the way, she's single!’"

Twilight thought the way Princess Luna tried to set us up was hilarious. She couldn't stop laughing at it. She finally caught her breath when she stopped laughing. "Yeah, it makes sense that Princess Luna would use that line as a way to get my nose out of a book. Now that you think about it, I've heard Fluttershy tell me that Princess Luna has done that before. Well, this time it worked out."

I smiled. "Yeah, it did."

I reached over and kissed her, we started to make out and then soon after that we had sex.

{Twilight}

I was so happy after Alex said yes to my proposal. Of course like Princess Luna said, he was stunned by it. I still think it's funny that Princess Luna used the whole 'Twilight love books so much she might marry one’ line and then added to that, 'oh and by the way she's single' to try and get me set up with Alex. The funny thing is Alex's partner Violet had been trying to set us up from the very first time we met.

Alex and I were laying in bed after having sex. I smiled at him and at the moment, I couldn't help but smile. "I wonder something Alex."

"What?" Alex asked.

"What parts of my body do you like?" I asked.

"Depends," Alex replied, "your human form or your pony form?"

I thought about it and said, "Both."

"Well in your human form my favorite part would be your boobs and your cute butt," Alex said.

I blushed when Alex said that he laughed, "In your pony form, hmm that's a tough one. I think I like your tail."

I giggled as Alex played with my tail since I was in my pony form at the moment. He reached over and licked my horn for some reason, that made me laugh too.

"I also like your horn," Alex said. He smiled, "So, what part of my body do you like?"

I thought about it and I knew exactly what it was that I liked about him physically. "Your penis."

Alex choked on what I just said. I smiled. "No, you didn't win me over with your dick. I just like the way it looks. Remember, I realized I had feelings for you when you had that power surge. I stayed up all night that day worried sick about you."

Alex scratched me behind the ear and it felt wonderful! Man, something as simple as Alex's touch feels good. Princess Luna was right. I found my mate.

"Hmm, since you like my dick so much," Alex said, "I think I'll stick it inside of you again."

I laughed as he did exactly what he wanted to do.

{Alex}

I woke up the next morning and smiled when I saw Twilight sleeping soundly beside me. Since I wasn't going anywhere for the time being, I got up and put my boxers on and put a robe on to cover myself up. Once I grabbed breakfast, Twilight woke up and sat down at the kitchen table.

She smiled at me. "Morning dear."

I smiled back. "Good morning Innocent."

I jumped when I heard the phone ring. I answered it and to my surprise it was Violet. "Hey Alex."

"Uh. Hi?" I asked. "What's up?"

"Well, Simon told me and Abigail about your vision and he told me what he thinks it might be about," Violet said, "I was wondering, has it come true yet?"

"Yeah, it has," I replied.

"So what was it?" Violet asked with a curious tone of voice.

"Twilight asked me to marry her," I said.

Violet gasped, "No way! What did you say?"

"I said yes." I responded.

"Wow," said Violet, "that was fast!"

"Yeah, I know," I said, "I made up my mind about it before it happened. Simon was trying to drop me a hint as to what it could possibly be. I didn't want to know but I figured it out."

"Awesome!" Violet cheered, "Since we're not heading out for a couple more days, maybe we should celebrate? In case you're wondering why I'm not outside your door, I figured I need to try and stop pressing your buttons because if I don't, Abigail will get upset. She's got weird ideas that she uses to torture me with, mostly ideas about sex."

I snorted. "Wow, I never thought someone would actually be afraid to have sex with someone!"

"Ha, Ha Alex," Violet growled, "I'm only afraid of that when Abigail's upset with me, trust me, you don't want to know. I still can't believe the princess actually got you to laugh in front of people. The fact that you're laughing at me while you're on the phone with me tells me that her mission to make you do that is complete!"

I paused. "Wait, what?"

"You heard me," Violet said, "The princess made it her mission to make you laugh when she heard that you couldn't laugh in front of anyone and why. She even checked out a book on how to make someone laugh. And she did the classic why did the chicken cross the road joke. It was so funny because she sounded so naïve and innocent when she said it too."

I laughed when I heard that because of course Twilight would do something like that. That's why I gave her the pet name Innocent.

"It makes sense to me because Twilight looks innocent with everything she does," I chimed, "That's where her pet name comes from."

"So that's why you call her Innocent!" Violet laughed. "That's so cute! Now the princess has another mission."

"And what might that be?" I asked.

"To love you and be with you forever and forever," Violet said, "Anyway, I'll tell Simon and Abigail the good news! I'll start planning the celebration party and trust me, you're going to love it!"

"Okay then," I hung up the phone and when I went over to Twilight she was eating a plate of vegetables with ranch dressing.

"So what was that all about?" Twilight asked.

"Apparently Simon knew exactly what my vision was about that I had about you," I said. "He tried to tell me what might happen but I didn't want to know. But the fact that he dropped me a huge hint about it made me think about my answer before you even asked."

Twilight tilted her head. "Really? So you were already going to say yes before I asked?"

I nodded. "Yup. To tell the truth I was going to get you a promise ring after we caught Pinkie. Then I was going to wait until we had been together for a little bit longer to ask you to marry me. But you beat me to it."

The fact that I told Twilight the truth about how I was going to do things made Twilight overjoyed. She had happy tears in her eyes again. Knowing that I was going to be planning a wedding soon helped me take my mind off what was going to happen between me and Pinkie in a few days.
