Unable to sleep one night, Twilight Sparkle seeks the company of their ally, Ascentia Kortai. For some time they exchange conversation about certain things, most especially the tough times that are looming over like dark storm clouds. Strange as their alliance may be, it never did stop Twilight from considering her a friend.

I do recommend reading Doomsday Ascending first, since you'll get an idea of who this character is and what's going on in the story, since it does tie into it. However, you can likely get away with just reading this since there are no real spoilers present, and then go read DA.
