Author's Note

Ok guys due to the comments I was getting I realised I had taken the girls to far out of character, I changed a few things to make them seem less hostile. Let me know if you think its an improvement.

Also, I was going to do something different With wolf, but alot of people seemed to want him included in the introduction, so I put him back in the story. Kinda worked out actually, helped give a reason for Fluttershy to break out of her panic over seeing a normal sized dragon.

Chapter 9. Introductions part 1 Slight remake

Spike's POV Journey through the forest

So there we were Twilight and I, her five new friends, and Big Mackintosh, I don't know much about Big Mac, but he seems to be giving me evil looks when he thinks I don't notice, a lot of the ponies do, some of them even act like they need to protect their foals when I'm around.

Sigh, not like its anything new, probably just heard the dangers dragons pose just like everypony else. Based on some of the stories I've heard I cant really blame them, but still, I cant wait for this town to get used to me like the ponies around the castle did.

Yeah, You might think that growing up in Canterlot would be a dream, and your right, it's an absolute nightmare. Sure when I was in the castle things were fine, but when Twilight and I would go out into the city ponies would treat me like I was a dangerous beast! There were multiple occasions where We would go into a restaurant, or a grocery store and one of the workers would come up to Twilight and say the didn't allow pets!

Boy were they surprised when I decided to ask why they were calling Princes Celestia's personal student a pet. I smirked at the faces those idiots gave me when I spoke, and smirked even more when I remembered the horror on their faces when Twilight said she would mention the problem with racism to Celestia.

Sigh, but yeah, I cant really blame them, apparently the dragons haven't sent a representative to Equestria for a few hundred years. To bad to, cause I'd really like to talk with another dragon about certain things, I mean I'm fourteen, and I've barely grown more than an inch in the past two years. I continued to dwell on these thoughts for a few more minutes as we were following Fluttershy through the animal trails through the Everfree until she told us we should be close then questions started popping up.

''So Twilight, what kind of party do you think I should plan for the pony living in the Everfree!'' asked Pinkie as she bounced beside Twilight and I.

''What are you talking about Pinkie?'' Replied twilight as everypony else turned their heads to glance at the pink pony.

''What do you mean silly willy! Fluttershy said that her bear friend named Barry said that there was a house in the Everfree, so that must mean that there is somepony new living there!'' Replied Pinkie in a cheerful manner, no doubt running hundreds of party ideas through her head per second.

"Um it's Harry not Barry Pinkie." Interjected Fluttershy, but I don't think anypony else but me heard her, according to Twilight I have much better hearing than the ponies.

''What in tarnation are you going on about Pinkie Pie, there's no way anypony would just up and move into the Everfree..., unless they were a few apples short of a bushel in the head of course.'' cut in Applejack before twilight could reply.

Pinkie dear, I must apologize but I'm going to have to agree with Applejack on this matter. This forest is just to horrid for anypony to live here, I mean look at my hooves, they are completely covered in muck!" Rarity said as she held up her hoof showing everyone the slight bits of dirt and mud cling to the sides. Everypony rolled their eyes at that, while Applejack and Rainbow facehoved at how Rarity thought dirt was the worst thing about the forest.. As they started walking again. "What? A lady must always look her best. I'm going to have to take a trip to the spa after we are out of this filthy place!

''I'm sorry Pinkie but the girls are right, if somepony really was living out here I think they would need to have their head examined before you could invite them to a party, and that's a big if. I still don't see how somepony could clear away a section of the ever free that fast. It takes crews of ponies all year long just to patrol the border to keep it from spreading.'' Twilight replied.

''Well, I don't know about you girls, but any pony living in the Everfree would be awesomely cool in my book, awesomely stupid yes, but awesomely cool as well.'' Everypony rolled their eyes at that, and I was about to ask Fluttershy how much farther this place was, but then I heard her gasp which was followed by the rest of us, for there it was, a large clearing with what looked like a large cabin and some weird metal building. and there were other weird things, like a gravel path that lead from about where we were to the front of the cabin and curved around the side of the house towards the front of the metal building. Many things were going through our minds but Pinkie decided to break the silence with a simple but crazy question.

''Well! What are we waiting for silly, lets go knock!'' yelled Pinkie to which everypony responded with 'ssshhh!!!'

''Pinkie! keep you voice down! We have no idea who or, based off the size of that house, what lives there!'' replied Twilight in a panicked whisper.

"(giggles) Well duhh. Of course we don't silly filly, we have to knock if we want to know who it is!" Stated pinkie as she bounced of towards the door ignoring the panicked whispers of her friends while subconsciously side bouncing out of the way of Applejacks lasso.

''Consarnit Pinkie Pie get your flank back here!'' called Applejack, but Pinkie was somehow already halfway there. "What do we do Twilight?!"

''Well, from what I've noticed Pinkie Pie normally has a method to her madness, so, I hate to say it but I think we should just watch and see what happens." Twilight said with noticeable trepidation in her voice.

So there I was, perched on Twilight's back looking over her head while we all starred at the door pinkie had just knocked on, we waited for about a minute, and nothing happened. Pinkie was in the process of knocking again when she suddenly stopped and moved back a little. What stepped out the door put a shocked look on my face as well as everypony else's, for there standing a little over twice Pinkies height, was a dragon.... that was wearing clothes.

As pinkie was greeting the dragon, he lowered into a crouch on all fours like he was going to attack, then opened his mouth, whatever he was planning on doing was suddenly interrupted when Rainbow decided that it was time to tackle said dragon back into the house. After staring in shock for a few seconds at what had just happened everypony rushed towards the house, entering through the door they saw a dizzy looking rainbow on top of the dragon who was lying on his back, somehow knocked out, and under him laid a large, almost pony sized dog which actually looked like a Timberwolf without the timber.

"Rainbow Dash!" yelled everypony, either worried for her safety, or maybe angry at her for tackling the dragon, probably both. Meanwhile I had hopped off twilight and walked up to the sleeping guy, or at least his face makes him look like a guy, but I've never seen another dragon so who knows, I could be wrong.

"Spike be careful we don't know what his intentions are " yelled twilight as she levitated me back onto her back. After thinking for a minute twilight got that look on her face that meant she knew what do do. ''OK, first things first, Rainbow, we do not just attack somepony for no reason, you could have seriously hurt him!'' Rainbow got a shocked look on her face.

''What are you talking about?! He's a freaking fire breathing dragon Twi, who was about to roast Pinkie!''
Rainbow yelled.

''Uggh we don't have time to argue right now, first we need to make sure he and his dog are alright.'' Replied Twilight.

Fluttershy, who up until that point was cowering behind Big Mac, perked her head up and asked ''What dog?'' to which I pointed to the dog laying underneath the guy.

Fluttershy gasped and rushed forwards towards the two and proceeded to roll the dragon off the poor pooch. Whilr we all gawked at her seemingly newfound strength. After checking the animal over she turned her head slowly towards Rainbow who suddenly found the floor the most interesting thing in the world. ''Rainbow Dash! How could you? You could have seriously hurt this poor critter.''

''Gee, I'm, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to hit him that hard, and I didn't know there was a dog behind him.''

''OK every pony I've thought it over, and even though I hate it, we should restrain him, I would hope to think he's a decent dragon, but Rainbow could be right, he really could have been in the process of attacking Pinkie'' stated Twilight interrupting any arguments that could have stated. ''Applejack, could you tie his legs and arms together, and Big Mac. Could I borrow your rope to tie his muzzle shut, I hate to do it, I really do, but we don't have any other way to stop his fire if he does turn out to be hostile. Apparently the bigger dragons get, the more magic resistant they become, a shield spell from me wont stop his fire.''

I frowned at that, it seemed like twilight was treating the dragon like an animal, but I understood her reasoning, after all, sometimes when I yell in panic I accidentally shoot out a flame.

"Sure thing Twi" replied applejack as she started hogtieing the dragon's legs together while Twilight rapped the rope tightly around the dragons muzzle a few times and then around the back of the head to keep him from taking it off without the use of his claws.

"Sorry spike" said twilight as she noticed my frown while she finished the makeshift muzzle. "I know you are excited to meet another dragon but we need to be really careful, you never know what could happen"

"Its ok Twilight, I understand, and I wouldn't want any of you getting hurt." I replied with a sad smile, which made her smile sadly while nodding.

"Ok every pony those ropes of Applejack's are top grade so they should hold, I guess all that's left to do is wait for him to wake up" said Twilight to which the group nodded, but Applejack got a small blush on her face while deciding to ask a question.

"Um, not to pry, but how do you know he's a he Twi?"

"Oh, that's easy applejack, while there aren't many books on dragons, one of the few that there are says that dragons are similar to ponies in the fact that drakes are built more squarely like a stallion and dragonesses are thinner with more curves like a mare. Spike should look similar to this guy when he grows up." twilight replied to which she got thankful nods from everypony while I just got wide eyed.

"You mean Ill look like that someday?!" I asked to which Twilight replied with a chuckle and a nod. "Cool!"

Groan..

"Um not to impose Twilight but I think he's waking up" said Fluttershy at which point we all turned our heads towards him as he opened his eyes...
