The 10 years old dark alicorn rushed to the small, old hospital. Today, her little sister would be born, and she was happy about that. Ran through the hallway crowded by many ponies, she finally made her way to the room where her mother was. She used her hoof to pull the door open, she stepped inside. Next to her mother was a little filly. To her surprise, her sister was just like her, an alicorn, the rarest race of pony.

Although they were Alicorns sisters, their parents were normal ponies. their mother, Magic Mirror, was an average unicorn, and their father, Cloud Mark, a pegasus who worked in the weather team.

"Look, she got your eyes, such beautiful eyes." Cried Cloud Mark joyously.

"Wow, she is so cute." Chirped Nightmare Moon.

"Yes, she is very cute. Cloud, look at her hairline, those looked just like the color of dusk and dawn. I know what name I should give her. Twilight, a beautiful name for a special child. Also, this name has some connection with your cutie mark, daughter." She turned to her first daughter.

"Yeah, I think so. She is between night and day. Guess we should get another child and name her SunShine." Joked Cloud as the entire family laughed.

---------------_____________ 2492 years before Nightmare incident in Daiwa Village_____________---------------

The village was small, but the ponies who lived there helped each other whenever they in need. The sisters were playing together in the backyard of their house, Twilight had earned her own cutie mark, which was a big purple star surrounded by five smaller white stars. Their house wasn't big so they have to share the same room to sleep. So there was no private space for them, but that didn't bother them. Blood sisters often shared a strong bond with each other so they wouldn't mind sharing their little secrets.

But the peace in their village didn't last long, the civil war started. On that fateful day, the soldiers had gone to their village. Many adults had died protecting the fillies, including their parents. Nightmare was old enough to take care of her little sister, their bonds tightened at the moment they hid together in the wood, careful not to let the enemy found them. After a week of being hunted harshly by the soldiers, they finally escaped. With the pain of loss, they wanted peace more than anything, and their plan began.

Their plan had succeeded, the revolution stopped the civil war. Nightmare Moon and Twilight had earned the power to control the sun and moon and became the princesses of Equestria. They worked hard to keep the peace between the ponies and also the other creatures. The ponies respected them both because of their work.

The sisters, although busy with their work which were different but they still spent time with each other whenever they could.

After the blood moon and sun eclipsed sun events, the ponies began to fear the night. They said the blood moon represented death, mostly because of the red-like blood color. And thought Twiligh's sun was something powerful to chase Nighmare's Moon away. This led to the unfair treatment between the two sisters although Twilight had talked a lot to her subject about this topic.

The ponies established a cult, which wanted "eternal day". They forced Nightmare to stop raising the moon because they thought she didn't deserve the princess title. The cult also threatened her if she didn't do like they said. The elder princess already asked her sister to convince them but it was useless. The princesses tried to ban them from social activities but that wasn't enough, they kept bothering them.

---------------______________ Nightmare incident -Throne room_____________---------------

Everything had its limit and Nightmare had endured enough. Why her sister always earned the respect, but not her. They always fear her even though she made no harm to them. Her patient was gone, she had to do something to make her subject respect her. Walked out of the empty throne room, she met her little sister, Twilight seems worried for her because she hadn't lowered the moon.

"Moony, are you alright? Did the cult bother you again.?" Asked Twilight clearly care in her voice

"I have endured enough, sister. Why ponies always love you, although I tried to help them all the things I get are only hatred and fear, while you did nothing to help me. Getting rid of you would be very good for MY rule " Angrily shouted Nightmare Moon as the wall cracked.

About the name of the village, it is a random idea in my head. I'm not Japanese
