The ponies were going from one place to another, stopping at the stalls for food, clothes or any kind of thing, Twilight was walking slowly, she was not in a hurry like the other ponies, although she tried to go unnoticed and not make conversation, it was not easy With all the ponies looking at her when she walked, some greeted her and others turned away, it could be said that Twilight was the stranger in town, it didn't affect her much.
A while later she arrived at her first destination, the post office, if she was lucky her book would have arrived last night, if not, she should wait to the next day, she did not think about it anymore and entered, although when entering and closing the door, when she turned around, she collided with a pony falling flank to the ground, along with the sound of some boxes and the collision of another flank by the other pony, when she opened her eyes she saw her best acquaintance, so to speak, Applejack.
“Twilight !!, I'm so sorry, I didn't see you sugarcube”said the mare getting up.
Applejack was a mare one year older than Twilight, her coat was a light brown color with a white line from her snout in the middle of her eyes, the fur near her hooves was degrading from light brown to a plain white, her hooves were a little dark brown, her eyes were emerald green, her mane was pale blond, almost white, her cutie mark was an apple cut in half, her center was a heart with three apple seeds stacked like a peacock's tail, the heart was surrounded by a thick layer of red, while it had green stems on both the top and bottom, some all filled with green while others were empty.
Applejack approached Twilight and extended her helmet to help her up, Twilight hesitated for a second before taking Applejack's helmet and standing up.
"Yeah... It's alright" Twilight said, then looked at the fallen boxes and asked, "What are the boxes for?"
"Well, as I know about the family reunion, I wanted to have some things ready, they are still missing, but I'll get those in the market" Applejack replied happily."And you? I usually only see you in the library"
"I came for a book I ordered a few days ago" Twilight said, "although I still don't know if it has arrived"
"You know what the mail pony is like" Applejack mentioned, starting to pick up the boxes and leave them on her back so as not to collide with some other pony "it's unpredictable"
"Yeah, well, it was nice to see you" Twilight said trying to make a smile, "but I have to go, I'll come for the book later"
"You could at least" Applejack said before being interrupted by the crash of the door closing "help me"

As she walked towards the food stalls she noticed that the sky was getting a bit cloudy, like last night, Twilight hoped there wasn't another storm as strong as last night. the pony who wasn't exactly to Twilight's liking.
"Twilight, nice to see you" Rose Alley greeted when she saw that the mare was heading towards her "what are you going to want?"
Rose Alley was a pony with white fur, she had a bright red mane tied in a ponytail, her hooves were bright red, her cutie mark was a bouquet of roses wrapped in a golden ribbon, her attitude so cheerful sometimes she managed to annoy Twilight more than necessary.
"Rose ... Your sister isn't supposed to be in charge of this position" Twilight said curtly.
"Supposedly" Rose replied happily "but she got equine fever, so I'm supplanting her, I'm sure she'll be like new tomorrow"
"Okay, just give me about four carrots, five potatoes and about four oranges" Twilght said bluntly.
"Sure" Rose answered to take the fruits and vegetables that Twilight chose and put them, when she finished she turned to Twilight "it would be fifty-five bits"
"What!? But that's not what it would cost, carrots cost two bits, potatoes one and oranges two, in total it would be 21 bits"
"Generally yes, but with today's taxes, oranges and carrots would cost five while potatoes would cost three, my sister is kind but very naive when it comes to taxes" Rose said with a somewhat malicious smile"are you going to buy or not? You don't want to leave my sister without her precious position for which she work so hard, do you, Twilight?"
Twilight with a look of anger and annoyance gave her the bits to go away with her purchase, while Rose kept looking at her with a smile. someday, I'm going to get revenge [/ i] thought Twilight as she walked away, It was fuming that I didn't notice the three foals whispering among themselves.
"How rare is it, don't you think?" asked the shorter one who was blue.
"You don't have to say them, she hardly ever leaves her home, what if she's an ogre?" said the yellow colt.
"Don't say nonsense, ogres don't exist, although from what you see, it could be a monster from the forest" said the red colt.
Twilight was distracted at times, but not deaf, she knew the town whispered, did it bother her a bit? Of course, but she kept it for herself, the best thing she could do at that time was to go for her other purchases and get home, at that point all she wanted was to rest, tomorrow she would go for the book, after all, It's not like someone else is going to claim it.
Although as Twilight discovered later, there was still a long way to go before that day was over, and it was becoming more and more obvious with the purple rays in the distance, slowly approaching the town, apparently the storm was more than just a storm.
Author's Note
Well, I liked how it looked, I imagined the meeting of Twilight and Applejack for days, I wanted to make it uncomfortable for Twilight, I honestly do not know if I will succeed.
The next chapter will be when the problems come and I want to introduce Applejack a little better, I am deciding between leaving the original Apple family or adding others, I think the most fair thing would be to put the originals but also new ones.

Chapter 3: Applejack and the mail
On the morning of the same day, hours before Applejack met Twilight
The sun was rising brightly over the hill plains, slowly lighting up the "Sweet Apple Acres" farm, all the apples seemed to glow.

“and Applebloom?”Applejack asked, sitting down.
"I let her sleep a little longer, after all, it's summer, she has to relax," answered Granny Smith calmly.
"And me if you hurry me," said Applejack with a face with few friends.
“Of course I do”said Granny Smith as if it were something obvious“you are already an adult mare, you have responsibilities”
“Yes”said Big Mac while serving the pancakes
“Did you hear AJ? You have responsibilities”said Appletrick in a mocking tone
"Changing the subject a bit," said Applejack, trying to ignore his cousin, "since the family reunion is coming up, I ordered some things by mail, to be prepared, you know, most likely they have already arrived."
“Applejack, the family reunion is a month away”said granny a little surprised
“it was just a few things, you know, like tablecloths, needles, threads, fabrics, cooking machines, that are for you and the great aunts, then there are the instruments and the frames for the photos”
As Applejack kept talking about what she ordered, the other three members in the dining room rolled their eyes.

“Dahlia? Are you here? I wanted to see if the orders I ordered arrived”said Applejack, approaching the counter.

Seconds later Dalia came out and stopped in front of Applejack. Dalia was a pony with light gray fur, with a lavender mane tied in a ponytail, her hooves were silver, her eyes were light blue, and her cutie mark was a letter with a red stamp.
"Well, that vase was going to break one way or another" Dalia said as she looked back and then turned to see Applejack "now, what did you tell me?"
“I was asking if the orders I ordered have arrived”repeated Applejack
“Let me check”said Dalia taking out a list and looking at the names“Apple, Apple, Apple ... Aja, here it is, i arrive this morning, let me go for it”
“Thank you very much Dalia”said Applejack with a smile
"There's no reason, after all it's my job" Dalia said as she lost herself in the rows of letters and boxes.
Minutes later Dalia returned with two carts full of boxes, which made Applejack worry.

As Applejack walked towards the door, it was abruptly opened as a pony entered and collided with Applejack in the process, causing Applejack to fall and with that, the boxes were scattered on the floor.
When Applejack opened her eyes she saw that she had bumped into none other than Twilight Sparkle, the town librarian.

At Sweet Apple Acres, Granny Smith was sleeping in her rocking chair inside the house, when suddenly the door slammed open causing her to wake up abruptly.
"Come on"Applejack said wearily, her hair was messy and she could barely stand and it looked like she was melting in the sun.
“Where have you been all this time”said Granny Smith looking at the clock“it's almost time for lunch”
“I ... mail ... boxes ... many ...”said Applejack and then collapsed on the ground and scattered the boxes around her
“Did you bring all those boxes on foot?”asked granny so then Applejack would nod
"Don't take the wagon"Applejack said from the ground.
“And it did not occur to you to leave the boxes there and come by the wagon? ”Asked granny with a raised eyebrow
Hearing this, Applejack gave a tic in her right eye and then slammed her face aganist the wooden flor of the entrance and let out a gasp.
Although, to be honest, this is the least problem that Applejack would have throughout the day.

The afternoon in Sweet Hills is considered one of the most beautiful moments of the day, the sun was going down slowly over the hills and everything seemed a bit dark with an orange highlighted in the whole town, the foals kept running from one place to another while playing waiting her parents calling for dinner in an hour or two, the shops were in full swing with many customers, in the sky birds flew free to perch occasionally on a fence. All the ponies were happy enyoing his day, except for Twilight Sparkle who was frustrated in her library atending a pony.
“So, wheres the horror section?” asked a very confused mare with a tiny expresion of fear for Twilight
“For the third time, the book is in the ... You know what? I'll guide you” Twilight sighed getting up from her chair and going down the stairs of the reception that could also be considered Twilight's desk.
Twilight was dressed in a blue-white skirt, to hide her cutie mark and also because Twilight thought she looked more respectable that way.
Twilight walked through the rows of shelves leading the mare, she only took a couple of turns and they were already in the horror section.
“Thank you Twilight” said the mare faking a smile and taking her book from the shelf, the book was ~ the pony and the curse ~ a very simple and bad book if you ask Twilight
“Aja” said Twilight frustrated and returning to her desk with the mare behind, when the two ponies return to the entrance Twilght sits back at her desk “you have to bring the book in three weeks or you will be late, got it?”

“Sorry, but was so funny” said Applebloom gigling
“Yep” said Big Mac with a more disimulated laughter
"You see, when something like that happens to both of you, I'm not going to stop laughing," Applejack whispered.
"Alright everypony, that's enough for today, let's have dinner and wake up Granny Smith" Applejack exclaimed as she walked home.
"Finally" Applebloom sighed to start following Applejack with Big Mac behind
When they finally got to the house, they woke up Granny Smith and headed to the kitchen to make the dinner or let Big Mac make it
“So Applejack, you could tell me again what happen in the mail?” asked Appletrick with a arrogant smile
"No, I already told you, all of you" Applejack replied a little irritated "the only interesting thing, to put it in some way, was seeing Twilight"
"The strange pony from the library?" asked Applebloom
"Yeah, and be a little more respectful, she's a pony, like all of us" Applejack replied
“Are you sure she is a pony? Because for me she is a book with legs, after all, it seems that she never leaves the library "said Applebloom laughing a little.

Suddenly another lightning bolt crashed to the ground, just a few meters from Twilight's window, causing her to jump back, Twilight got up seconds later, put on her cape and went downstairs to the library, passing through a few rows until reaching the entrance and leaving. .
When she leaves the house she find a crowd of ponies who see the burned house, Twilight gets closer to the fire, that was nothing she has seen or read before.
Suddenly another lightning crashed a short distance from Twilight in the middle of two ponies, the two ponies were pushed, one crashed into a tree and the other into a house, all the ponies flew away where the lightning struck and then, appeared Another lightning bolt, and another, and another, soon all the ponies screamed and ran for their lives, even Twilight was almost struck by lightning, the whole sky was gray with loud thunder and lightning, then Twilight had an idea, maybe she may not be able to help others, but her books maybe yes.

Applejack was sleeping after a hard day's work and her little incident with the boxes, but that couldn't last longer because a pony hit the front door quickly and hard, it only took a few seconds to wake Applejack and the rest of her family.
"I'm coming, I'm coming, can't a pony wait a few minutes?" Applejack asked irritated by the interruption of her sleep, she went to the door and opened it, only to be pushed away as a pony entered without permission "Hey!!"
"Thank you Applejack, I thought I was going to die, it's crazy outside" said Jane Rose crying.
Jane Rose was a pony with light green fur, her hooves were a darker green, her mane and eyes were yellow, and her cutie mark was a sunflower.
"Why is it crazy out there?" Granny Smith asked entering to the room with the rest of the family.
"There is an abnormal storm in the whole town, a purple lightning came from the sky trying to kill all the ponies, they all scream and run in terror" said Jane with many tears in her eyes "I'm scared, the town could end up destroyed"
The entire Apple family made faces of horror when lightning was heard in the distance near the farm.
"I have to go, I'm going to check that everypony is alright" Applejack said heading to the door.
"We're going too, it's our town, our home," said Granny Smith
"Well go all ... I wouldn't say exactly that" said Appletrick a little nervous taking a step back.
"No, they have to stay here and protect the farm, if one of the rays burns a tree, they have to put it out before it spreads and burns the whole orchard, if it burns, we will be bankrupt" Applejack said worried
"Okay, but if something happens, you warn us," said Granny Smith reluctantly.
"Yep" said Big Mac
"I promise, see you later" said Applejack to go through the front door and run away

Applejack arrived to the town when lightning struck near were she was causing her to back up a bit.
When Applejack looked at the town everything was crazy, all the ponies were running and crying as the purple rays fell around them.
Applejack set out to get come to the center of the town and help anypony she could along the way.
"All the ponies go home, you'll be safer there" Applejack yelled as she crossed the streets.
Some ponies heard it and ran to theirs homes and others just ran in any direction.
Applejack soon arrived to the center of the town where the library was and it was a disaster, the ponies were crying and running, others were frozen in fear hoping that no lightning would hit them.
"All the ponies go home, you'll be safer there" Applejack yelled but no pony heard her.
But the situation got more crazier when a pony screamed
“WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE AAAAHHH !!!”
These only caused more chaos and soon all the ponies were jostling and screaming as they ran and with the lightning all was worse, but then, Appkejack noticed that one pony was missing in the commotion.
"And Twilight?" Applejack asked when she realized the library lights were on, without hesitation she ran and entered the building.
"Twilight?" asked Applejack out loud
"Here" Twilight answered in another part of the library.
Applejack walked through a few rows of shelves before finding Twilight, when she did, she found Twilight sitting on the floor with books around her, reading them fast.
"What are you doing?" Applejac asked as she approached the pony
"I don't know if you noticed, but there is a giant storm that is trying to kill all the ponies with purple lightning" said Twilight looking up to see Applejack
"Yes, I see it, and you are?" asked Applejack confused
"I'm looking for information of what it is, obviously" Twilight answers with a straight face.
"So, you looked in the leyend books, right?" asked Applejack
"Why? All those books are fake" Twilight replied.
"Don't think like that, I know what to do" Applejack said with a little smile.
"Get out of my house?" Twilight asked in a whisper, without Applejack hearing her.
"I'm going to bring you some books from the legend section, maybe you can find something there" Applejack said to turn around and start to leave the weather section of the library.
"No wait, I don't need" Twilight said but Applejack was already gone "aahh" Twilight sighed frustrated
Twilight got up from the floor and went to the legend section, when Twilight arrived Applejack was nowhere to be found, but thanks to the marble floor Twilight could hear Applejack's hoovesteps in the other part of the library. The librarian followed the noise of the hoovesteps but when she arrived there were no pony there, at that moment Twilight thought that the library was more like a liberinth at that time
"Applejack, where are you?" Twilight asked out loud.
"Over here, I'm looking for the legend section," Applejack said from a few shelves beyond.
When Twilight arrived, she saw Applejack going through the books on the shelf.
"You won't find anything there, that's the grammar section" said Twilight
"Really?" Applejack asked and then checked the books "oh that's true"
"Anyway you won't find anything in fantasy books, they are just stories made up by some pony" said Twilight starting her monologue

"And that storm is not an evil being that will be defeated with some magic sword or something like that"
"Twilight !!"
"Ponies need help, not a fantasy story and"
“TWILIGHT SPARKLE!!!" yelled Applejack to get Twilight's attention “are you looking outside? It's chaos, a freak purple lightning is trying to kill us all, do you really think you're going to find something in science? "
"But" Twilight said, but Applejack cut her off.
"I know you don't believe in magical things, neither do I, but it could be the best thing we have right now, you see what it's like outside, if you don't do it for the town, at least do it for me, during the years we've known each other. "Applejack said pleading "please"

Most of the houses in Sweet Hills now had their roofs black from the lightnings, and the ponies weren't much better, the ponies kept screaming and running, but luckily Applejack always stopped to help, she ran through the streets of the city helping all the ponies that were on her way, she made a small group with the ponies that were not so scared, they separated into zones to help the town, it would be a lie if we said that no one is hurt, but Applejack does not have time to regret, she has a town to save, a town where her friends and family live, and for nothing in the world would she stop.
"Everypony to their home now" Applejack yelled as she kept running down the street.
"Applejack, look out, the house is falling" said Sugar Sweet, a pony from the little rescue team.
Sugar Sweet was a pony with white fur, pink mane with blue highlights, her hooves were pink, her eyes were blue, and her cutie mark was a palette.
When Applejack looked up, a house was falling on top of her, with one swift movement, she jumped to the side before the house collapsed to the ground.
"That was close, thanks Sugar" said Applejack to the mare with a grateful face "but what are you doing here? your area to take care of is streets away "
"Yeah about that, Twilight sent me for you, she said she found something" Sugar Sweet said with a smile
"Really? That's amazing" Applejack said jumping with excitement "I have to go right now, could you?"
"I'll keep the ponies safe" said Suga Sweet
"Thanks Sugar" said Applejack galloping away
