"The city belows looks awesome! I could see we'll never get anything near that in our world!"

A private squeezes when he sees a strange city, topped on a mountain that is surrounded by nothing but a sea of clouds.

It's whiteness with some golden stripes make the pale blue haired guy, sitting calmly on the chair, suddenly remember something.

"Nah... Those dreams just haunt me all over again", he shook his head.

"Hey John! What's goin' on, buddy?"

"Nothing Sir! I just randomly got a headache." he answered.

The descent took the ship about a good 1 hour, giving it's hangar crew enough time to prepare for the landing process.

"Well... Guess the Maretime Bay Avenger had to delay a few minutes due to traffic. Probably because of security reasons. We don't know!", a voice came up on the speaker, "All personnel were required to stay in position until further notice. Thank you!"

John keeps panning his eyes to the city, desperately trying to find a piece of memory that have lost through years. Sometimes, people could find someone, something or a scenario that is familiar without remembering where they have seen or experienced them.

-That's not possible, this is a completely different world! - he mumbled.

...

John was somewhat a normal guy(as called "Not too handsome, not too ugly" by his comrades), living in a little town at Side 2. Before assigning to this operation, he had some experience of being a police officer at where he lives, so he was considered to have some morale for the Federation.

"I think we need this guy!", an officer said to his friends after John found out he passed the test.

The reason for his action was simple: he was trying to make more money. Being a cop in a suburban area of a rather peaceful colony is not a very profitable job, as well as a bit too boring for him.

"Haha, you really joined this because being a cop was too boring? Welp, totally understand!", a comrade said to him during a conversation:

-Pretty weird for you to patrol that area!

-Why?

-That suburban area was a real estate project. People barely move there! Why are you working as a cop in the first place?

This brings him back to the year he started to question his memory, when he constantly dreamed of a small town lying by the sea. A place where there it's occupants are not human, but are small horses roaming around like humans. He saw a group of pony friends who are extremely caring about each other, befriending a red coated pony who he assumed was his partner. He was seen roaming around the town, as a pony, seeing others smiling at him, giving a wave, or chatting with him... He remembered those dreams like it was a memory...

Or are those dreams actually memory?

After the mountainous city was vanishing from view, John got back to his seat.

"All personnel hold your position, we will be landing at Maretime Base in about 15 minutes!", the speaker announced.

"Those horse pun... Why the Federation top bras started to obsesses about horses?",

...

A light bump announced that the ship had landed safely.

"Pack your stuff! We are gonna get a larger room...", an officer said to his subordinate, "...after all of you pilots have gathered at the left mission room, I will disseminate what we will do here!"

But after packing all of his luggage to his new room, John decided to get out of the ship, the place that he was in for 3 days, to have some fresh air and sightseeing.

Across the bay was a small town, lying over a rock cliff, looking out of the sea, just like what he had seen in his dreams. Houses are built with a huge variety of paints, making the town overall look like an Italian town he saw in a magazine. On top of the highest hill of the town, lay a huge glass building with, as much as he could see, a pink glass-shaped logo on top.

But one thing that stood out all of that, is a light house with white and red stripes, which he finds strangely familiar.

"I think I have seen this a few times... No! Countless times!", John thought to himself.

After a few minutes of standing on a busy landing pad, where people are busy unloading and loading cargo, ammunition, weapons,... John decided to get inside.

...

"So, as we have known, we are here to help a coup that will overthrow a corrupted government and perhaps protect the new government that soon followed it. But before that, we must try to destroy a group of rebels who are preventing this revolution from occured...", the officer said "... as far as I know, they are hiding in a wood that is called Bridlewood, a perfect place for hiding weapons and heavy equipment..."

John looked around the room. There is only a group of 5 mobile suit pilots sitting with him in the dark mission room, with the only light source appearing to be the main screen. According to his commanders, Lieutenant Joe Offshore, this is an extremely classified operation that only a handful of people on board know exactly where they are going and what they actually do. Even John, a test pilot, doesn't really understand the inhabitants of the place that he and his ship was sent to.

"I just heard they send us to Europe", one of his comrades told John, "... somewhere in Italy, I presume, but we have to stay in the base 24/7 anyway!"

The Pegasus-kai class ship was docking at a huge depot that was somewhat another small town with a small airport with just a single dirt runway, some warehouses and temporary buildings. The whole place shares some characteristics of both a temporary city and a fully built base like the infamous Torrington base in Australia.

But they don't have to stay in Maretime Base for long. The base is actually a depot, so the Maretime Bay Avenger only have to stay for refueling, loading important supplies and ammunition to get to her permanent base near a Luna Titanium-ish mine ("Luna Titanium-ish" how John's commander prefer to an alloy that the mines are currently mining). The ship was expected to leave the next day.

...

John mostly prefers to sit alone in the canteen each time he has a meal there. Although he does talk to some, the fact that he doesn't have any close friends on the ship, as well as his entire career since he joined the Federation 3 years ago. The Heimdall Unit that John served in is a special operation unit that serves mostly on secret missions, this time, according to most of the ship's personnel knowledge, was about to put down a rebellion. Therefore, most of the crew are people from noble families and families with deep military relationships.

The Unit mostly serves as a unit dedicated to help testing mobile suits for the Federation. John was a test pilot for a special unit that was brought along with the ship, so he also joined the crew of Maretimebay Avenger.

"Hey! Weirdo!", a voice came up on his left.

It was Johann Esper, the first kid of a Federation officer. John, as well as the rest of the ship, views him as a bullier. He often go around the ship with his gang of about 5 others personnel to take money and their personal stuff with a request to do something for them, often stupid things or they will lost those stuff forever. John tries to defend those poor guys at first, but he has to let them do what they want. After that one time they beat him to the point he lost 2 teeths and got in trouble with the commander.

"Where is that "My Little Pony" image you kept?"

"It's garbage. I already threw it." John answered.

"My information source suggests otherwise..." another guy ,with a kid-like voice trying to mimic the voice of adults, said. "I just saw him pull it out with my own eyes!"

"Give me that, douchebag! You obviously are not a human, right?"

"Didn't I just tell you I already thought about it?"

The 1.9 meter tall giant took the yellow eye John's shirt and lifted him up.

"Search his pocket, as Cruz said."

2 other guys started rummaging through his jacket and his pale brown military pants.

They found two pictures, one about a group of ponies and a certain orange pony in another picture, in just about 5 second.

"Ha! See?", Cruz said.

"Let me get this straight: they are someone that are crucial to your life, right?", Johann asked, "No wonder even after all those words you still have it with you. 24/7 I guess?"

John silently looked at him.

"Explain, or you will have to eat your dinner full of meat!"

His group specifically just bullied some people at the unit, but they often know really well about their prey. They know John himself really hates to eat meat or animal products, though he does drink milk and eat omelette. But as a bullier, Johann loved to take it as an advantage.

"It was... my sister's..."

"Liar!" he yelled, making the whole canteen look at his table.

But suddenly, he said with a calm voice, whispering into John's ear:

"Okay, since I can't do anything with you, I have a proposal: Go to that town, or I will say your secret out loud. I know deep in you, you are not a human. Isn't it true, guys?

His gang nodded.

"Why do you want me to do that? Why don't you do it yourself?"

"So you want to be called a baby girl right here? Heimdall Unit is only for true men, coward! Guys who love little girl stuff like ya should be at least working other units... or guarding bases! Guarding bases is the best for ya, don't ya think?"

Johann knows John was a disciplined soldier. Unlike others, he never caught drinking, smoking cigarettes and always sleeping in time.

"Too bad you are just a normal guy with skills. You would make us shit our pants with your owl-like eyes!"

The gang laughed maniacally.

"So... you are with us tonight?"
