“Wait, what was that?” Rainbow Dash was staring back at her wide-eyed, her cheeks a heavy shade of red. “Wh… What would be easy to do?”
“J-Just forget it!” AJ kept her face hidden while waving her hoof in dismissal. “They… T-They’d probably notice if one was missin’ anyway…”
As soon as that impulsive statement came out of Applejack’s muzzle, all seven of the heroes remained silent in serious thought. Even Twilight had to clench her muzzle, her knees buckling from that forbidden idea that crept into her mind. But as the Princess tried her best to remain silent, it didn’t take long for one of the others to speak up. Pinkie Pie’s eyes darted back and forth, and her lips trembled into a sheepish smile. “Uhhh… heh heh heh … I mean… who’s to say that Chrysalis would notice one egg going missing from her hive, right? Like… she probably makes so many of them every day...”
“E-Exactly!” blurted Fluttershy with a frantic nod. “If anything, maybe… maybe Chrysalis wouldn’t mind if we took a few of them. F-For research, I mean!”
“OOH! Good idea!” Rainbow Dash was quick to chime in. “Twilight, you’re into all that science junk, right? What would you say about a couple of us taking some of those eggs? Like… I’m sure we could sneak them out somehow…”
Applejack was trying to discreetly scoot in close beside Dash, and even pushed Spike out of the way so he couldn’t hear her whispering in the pegasus’ ear. “Hey, so ummm… how would ya wanna do that?~”
Rainbow let out a sly little giggle before whispering into AJ’s ear, “How would you wanna do it, hmmm?~”
“Uhhh!! I just remembered something important!” Spike kept his claw raised high to catch Twilight’s attention. “I, uhhhh… I can feel my dragon instincts kicking in! Like, just now!! And uhhhh… I need one of those eggs to, ummm… t-to keep myself from growing super big again! PLEASE !!”
The dragon’s eyes darted back and forth, and his bottom lip was bitten after giving such an unconvincing excuse. Twilight was trying her best not to listen to her friends’ increasingly desperate attempts, but it was becoming more difficult by the second to ignore her own thoughts on the matter. Despite having just watched her own brother being confined to such a sorrowful state, her marehood was winking repeatedly with a tingling sensation she knew she couldn’t sate herself. If anything, she was really feeling like Chrysalis was speaking directly to her when she brought up that deep… lingering feeling of emptiness that could only be sated by one of her massive eggs pressing up against her--
“NNNGHHHH !!!~” Twilight threw the pencil across the room with her aura, nearly hitting Fluttershy as it embedded itself in the wall beside her. When she turned back to face her friends, all six of them were frozen in worry from how abruptly she caught their attention. Twilight was looking legitimately concerned, and she lifted a hoof shakily to address the group as a whole. “L-Listen, we… w-we really need to stop talking about the eggs, alright? We… W-We’re becoming too distracted by it!”
“Yeah, but…” Rarity paused for a second with her face becoming more red than white. She tried to glance away from Twilight sheepishly before muttering under her breath, “If… If we’re going to be right there already…”
“I-I mean, if you wanna go to the Throne Room first,” noted Pinkie Pie, who was fidgeting her hooves and averting her nervous gaze from Twilight, “I’m sure that some of us could split up and investigate the egg room ourselves.”
“I VOLUNTEER!” shouted Spike, even though he was desperately trying to hide his erection with one of his claws. “J-Just so my Dragon Greed won’t act up!”
“Ooh! I helped him with that last time!” chimed Rarity enthusiastically. “I’ll go with him!~”
Twilight face-hoofed with a groan, which made her realize how badly she was starting to sweat. Meanwhile, Rainbow Dash and Applejack were nestling in closer to one another, giggling devilishly and whispering things into each other’s ears. None of the others could overhear much, but their elated shivers and blushing cheeks made it obvious what the main topic of discussion was. Twilight was finding it harder to keep her focus in check, but she breathed out pertly while addressing the group.
“E-Everyone, PLEASE! I… I know that it sounds really tempting--I mean important ! It… I-It sounds important to investigate all of those eggs. And to… t-to, uhhh… to see how they might… w-work …” After a few seconds, Twilight closed her eyes and groaned in frustration. “Ugh… W-What was I talking about again?”
Rainbow and AJ pulled away with equally flushed expressions, and stared back at Twilight wide-eyed. The two darted their eyes between the Princess and themselves for a moment, as if they were thinking the same thing. Applejack, who was supposed to be the Element of Honesty, blurted without a shred of regret in her firm voice. “We were… talkin’ about how many eggs we can bring back.”
“Mmmhmm !” Rainbow nodded her head vigorously. “That’s right! A-And, uhhh… we might have a way to sneak them out without detection~” The two snickered at each other with a couple of knowing nudges.
“G-Girls, I…” Twilight was growing more light-headed as she struggled to stand upright. “... I don’t think that was the plan…”
“How many do you think we can hold?” Spike, as well as the other three mares behind him, were all staring at Rainbow and Applejack. Dash scoffed with a bashful smirk, and shrugged before answering nervously.
“Oh, I dunno, uhhh… I’m sure that we could each take at least one without Chrysalis finding out~”
“Hmph~” Applejack rolled her eyes with a scoff of her own. “Ah could take more than just one…”
“W-Well, uhhh…” Rainbow tensed up from her friend’s confident-sounding claim. “I-I’m sure I could as well! Like… maybe three eggs!”
“Ah bet Ah could take five .” Just saying that number made the farm-pony shiver with a bitten lip. “Nnnnghhhh… Oh yeah~”
Rainbow Dash narrowed her eyes on AJ with a sharp glare. “Oh yeah?! I bet I can take EIGHT of those eggs!”
None of the others, Twilight included, tried to stop the two as their previous shared-interest turned to a jealous rivalry. Applejack glared back at her as she readjusted her Stetson. “Oh, is that so ?! Well, AH bet Ah could take TEN of ‘em!”
Rainbow got up closer to her face. “Fine! I’ll get TWELVE!”
“Ah’ll get FIFTEEN eggs!”
“TWENTY!!”
“THIRTY!!”
“FIFTY!!!”
“AH’LL TAKE A HUNDRED BEFORE YOU CAN OUTDO ME!!!”
“I’LL GET EVERY SINGLE EGG BEFORE YOU EVEN STEP INTO THE ROOM!!!”
“GIRLS, STOP!!!”
Twilight lit up her horn to grab both of the mares, and encased them tightly in her aura. After pushing them away from each other’s faces, she shuddered hotly and tried to extinguish the situation. “We don’t need to take ANY of the eggs!! W-We don’t even have enough bags to hold more than a few if we decided to!”
The two glanced back at her and asked, “Bags?” at the same time. Luckily, they both instantly realized their mistake and tried to correct themselves.
“O-Oh, yeah ! Ha ha ha ha!” Rainbow Dash’s laugh was faker than her forced smile. “Y-Yeah, we… we would need bags to hold any eggs, wou… w-wouldn’t we… ”
“Mmhmm, yeah!” Applejack nodded hard enough to nearly fling off her hat. “Ah mean, it ain’t like we could… u-use somethin’ else to hold all them eggs nice and snug…”
Twilight’s magic fizzled away from her horn when she clenched her eyes, desperate to get the first thought in her head away as quickly as possible. While Rainbow and AJ were freed from her aura, the others were all looking at one another and fake-laughing as well.
“Y-Yeah, that would just be crazy !” Spike scratched the back of his neck to stop himself from shivering like a junkie. “We couldn’t just… stuff ourselves with eggs like Shining was doing! Heh heh, that… t-that would be…”
“I-I’m sure it would be difficult,” muttered Fluttershy while rubbing her foreleg. “E-Especially if we found a really... really big one that needed a warm place~”
Rarity had to bite her lip briefly before interjecting. “Nnnfff… I bet they would be really secure inside of a womb…”
“Oh sliding down my throat ,” moaned Pinkie, all while fanning her increasingly sweaty face. “Oooohhhhh… I bet I’d look pregnant if it went down to my stomach like that~”
“Yeah, I bet my brother did that already,” confessed Twilight, unable to even look at all of them while smirking to herself. “He probably stuffed himself to the brim like a good little slut~ HUUUUHHHH!!!”
Her shocked gasp was just barely loud enough to pull the others out of their lustful stupors. Twilight was wide-eyed with a legitimately terrified look on her face. “W-Wait, WAIT!! This… This isn’t right!!”
“Oh, fuck,” muttered Cadance up in the vents, her expression immediately flattening. “I think you need more of those pheromones for her, Sunburst.”
“T-That was all I had on me!” He was gawking down at Twilight with a shocked expression of his own. “I-I don’t understand, that was just as potent as one of the bombs we used back in the Crystal Empire!”
“Ugh, I can’t believe we underestimated her…” Cadance almost wanted to be proud of her sister-in-law for keeping her resolve so efficiently; but at the same time, the Princess’ stubbornness was making her grit her teeth in aggravation. She and Sunburst shared a look up in the vents, while Twilight struggled to get her friends’ attention down below.
“Can’t you all see how you’re acting right now?! We… W-We’ve just spent the past few minutes talking about Chrysalis’ EGGS! S-Something is seriously wrong here!”
Spike muttered with his arms crossed over his chest, “Yeah, we don’t have any yet.”
“W-Wait, she… she has a point…” Rarity breathed out deeply as she pinched the bridge of her snout. “Nnnghhh… Why… Why can’t I stop thinking about them?!”
“Oh, who cares?!” Rainbow Dash was getting more fidgety as she squirmed her ass against the cold floor. “Mmmffffff … I just wanna get to that castle already~”
“Me too…” Fluttershy was looking just as antsy as she constantly shifted her weight between her writhing legs. “May… M-Maybe one of us could be a distraction for Chrysalis! Um… I’m sure she could focus on filling me while you all save Shining~”
Pinkie gawked at her with great offense. “Nuh-UH! I wanna be a distraction for Chrysalis’ ovipositor!”
“Oh, she’d probably stuff us to the brim if we got caught…” Spike’s eyes rolled back for a moment as he shuddered with a dopey grin. Just as a thick glob of drool was about to seep out, he jerked his head back to reality. “I’LL DO IT!!!”
“No, WE’LL do it!” Rainbow Dash pulled in Applejack close by her side, and stared up at Twilight firmly. “Chrysalis can take the two of US instead! We’re strong! We can take it!”
Applejack didn’t look offended at all by her friend’s insistence; instead, she blushed with a bashful and gracious smile. “Dawww, thanks, Dash! Ah was hopin’ you’d ask me to join in~”
“GIRLS, NO!!!” Twilight was becoming more frantic, and her rapid breaths were almost sounding like sobs. “We can’t… W-We can’t just surrender to Chrysalis!”
“Well, I don’t see why you all can’t~”
The sound of Cadance’s amplified voice through the vent got all of their attention, and they gasped while looking up. The metal grate was kicked out of the shaft’s frame, allowing for Cadance and Sunburst to finally make their appearance...
Return to the Brood 4: Elemental Takeover
“Spike! Get the guards!” Twilight was the only one to make a strong defensive stance, while the others all stood with blank expressions behind their blushes. Cadance glided down gracefully by her wings, and carried a warm smile across her muzzle. She also used her magic to float Sunburst to the ground floor, while his own horn was holding the large metal briefcase in his aura.
“Oh, you can turn off your horn, Twilight.” Cadance shot her sister-in-law a coy, unworried grin when she saw how brightly the Princess’ horn was lit. With the way Twilight was stanced with a menacing snarl, it could almost be assumed she was prepared to fight them; of course, her tail was still instinctively raised up with her hind-legs wobbling needily. Cadance didn’t seem the slightest bit scared of Twilight’s glare, and held out a hoof in reassurance. “I promise you, Sunburst and I don’t mean harm to any of you. All we want to do is discuss a calm, dignified negotiation~”
“That’s right!” chirped Sunburst as he took the floating briefcase in his hoof. He made sure to hold it out like it was containing a big prize for all of the Elements’ widening eyes. “And if you all act good enough, we can give you a sample of something really wonderful~”
“D-Don’t listen to them!” barked Twilight, before she used her magic to teleport herself in front of her friends. She stared daggers at both of them and shouted, “I know that you’ve both been brainwashed by Chrysalis!”
“Oh, Twilight…” Cadance chuckled and gave a disturbingly nonchalant shrug. “All that Chrysalis did was open our eyes to something far better than any title or implied ‘freedoms’ you all cling to so fruitlessly.”
“And considering how overwhelmed you all are looking,” added Sunburst, who made sure to give an especially cheeky stare at Spike while he was covering his crotch. “I’m pretty sure we both know what you’re all wanting really badly right now~”
Spike, as well as the rest of Twilight’s friends, all shuddered and squirmed behind the defensive Princess. All of them kept staring at the briefcase in Sunburst’s hoof, while Twilight continued to stare down her former sister-in-law. “What did you do to us?!” she shouted furiously. “I know you two did something !!”
“My, what do you mean?~” Cadance placed a hoof over her chest and gave a faux-offended smirk. “Sunburst and I just happened to be listening in while all of you got really interested in… Oh, what were you all wanting again?~”
“You mean Eggs ?! EEP!!” Pinkie Pie quickly covered her muzzle with both hooves, and averted her eyes from Twilight apologetically. “Sorry, uhhh…”
“No, it’s perfectly fine, Pinkie. It’s nice to say it out-loud , isn’t it?~” Cadance completely ignored her sister-in-law’s furious sneer, and shot a widening grin back at her friends. “Come on… just say it once to hear how wonderful it sounds~”
“ Eggs.” Fluttershy softly spoke.
Twilight brought up a magic barrier to serve as a wall between the cronies and herself. “D-DON’T LISTEN TO HER!! She’s just trying to get in your heads!”
“Oh, but we’re already in there,” pointed out Sunburst, his tone growing as sickly confident as his partner’s. He tilted his head before adding, “But I have a feeling you want something else in you right now. Don’t you, Princess?~”
Twilight tensed up for a second, her muzzle twitching quite notably. But even with a sharp exhale, the Princess shook her head and continued to point her horn at them. “N-N-NO!!! You… Y-You can’t get me that easily, Sunburst! We’re just as strong together as you… y-you two are…”
Twilight’s words began to trail off the moment Cadance used her magic to unlatch the briefcase. She and Sunburst grinned eagerly as the case was opened up, revealing nothing but a bright green void radiating with their Queen’s magic. Sunburst reached a hoof inside, with his foreleg disappearing far past the case’s confines to confirm it as a portal of some kind. Twilight kept her horn lit, but her open muzzle turned silent while she and the others watched with great interest.
“Oh, I don’t doubt how strong all of you can be as a whole ...” Sunburst managed to grab hold of something before redirecting his attention to the group before them. “But our Queen has quite a lovely gift to help you think otherwise~”
With that, Sunburst pulled out a large, glowing green changeling egg the size of a bowling ball. Twilight and her friends all gasped, and were at a total loss for words. None of their eyes blinked as they stared intently at the massive egg, which was still dripping a copious amount of goo while balanced atop Sunburst’s hoof. The smooth, luminescent shell was slightly transparent, which allowed the Elements to catch the briefest glimpse of one of Chrysalis’ grubs moving inside. And much like the invisible gas that had encompassed the entire room, there were more than enough pheromones wafting from the egg to make all of the heroes’ legs quiver in need.
“Mmmmmm~” Cadance had to stop herself from reaching out and grabbing the egg for herself. Even though her marehood was winking like mad for that hefty mass to fill her up, she couldn’t help noticing how eagerly Twilight’s friends were standing for attention. Whether it was Rainbow Dash’s fully-sprung wings, Fluttershy’s dilating pupils, or Spike licking his drooling lips, there wasn’t a single member of the group who didn’t appear totally infatuated by the egg. Even Twilight, despite the stoic glare on her face, was obviously pushing her hind-legs together to keep from leaking. “I must say,” purred Cadance as she nuzzled in close to Sunburst’s side, “it seems like all of us want the exact same thing…”
“Nnghh!” Twilight was able to clench her eyes shut, even though she felt a profound wave of guilt for ignoring the egg’s presence. More of its pheromones were filling the Princess’ lungs, causing every breath to intensify the sensations tingling every nerve. She couldn’t glance towards her friends, but she could hear all of them groaning weakly and shivering behind her. “Th… T-That’s not going to work!” she said in the weakest, unconvincing excuse of a “yell” that Cadance ever heard. “We… W-We don’t need… t-t-that…”
“Oh, you don’t?~” asked Sunburst with a cheeky grin. “Then perhaps I should put it away then--”
“NO!!!” shouted all of Twilight’s friends at the same time. With the way they were all staring at him wide-eyed, it was like he was just about to drop a baby. The desperation in their faces grew more intense, with their bodies squirming and their lips tightly bitten shut. But with Twilight Sparkle’s magical shield still erect, none of them could try to reach out or get a closer look at that beautiful egg.
“Hmmmmm… How about this?~” Cadance stepped forward, and used her magic to float up the egg from Sunburst’s hoof. The stallion nearly punched her for taking it from his grasp, but he stopped himself at the last second. While Sunburst closed his eyes and took a couple of calming breaths, Cadance floated the egg closer to Twilight’s magical wall. The Princess tried to keep her eyes closed, despite her nostrils flaring from the pheromones she continued to breathe in. However, Spike and the other Elements all loomed in closer with their muzzles agape and drooling.
“If you’re really willing to prove your ‘heroics,’ I wouldn’t mind putting that to the test…” Cadance held the egg up high in her blue aura, letting it hover above them like the most captivating chandelier any of them had ever seen. Twilight took that opportunity to stare directly at Cadance, despite how badly she wanted to stare at the egg instead. The others all gawked at its sheer size and smoothness, undoubtedly imagining how it would feel during incubation. But even with how distracted they may have looked, Cadance knew they were listening when she continued to speak. “If none of you are willing to answer one simple question, Sunburst and I promise to leave you alone. Heck, we’ll even defect from our Queen and join you guys again~”
Both she and Sunburst chuckled from that clearly dishonest statement, mostly due to how confident they felt about their chances. “O-Oh yeah! We’d totally do that,” lied Sunburst with a devilish snicker. “That is, if you refuse to answer one little question ~”
The group all managed to glance away from that floating egg, and shoot worrisome looks at one another. Only Twilight continued to stare the drones down, and exhaled through her nostrils before lighting up her horn. All six of her friends found themselves tightly bound in Twilight’s magic, with thick rings of her aura wrapped around their mouths to silence them. Twilight remained diligent when she spoke for the group. “Deal.”
“Ooh, you think you’re so clever, don’t you?~” Cadance didn’t care about her sister-in-law’s methods, and merely shrugged in response. “Well, just remember this… If any of you decide to answer my question, we’ll shove this big… beautiful egg inside of you right now~”
Twilight took a deep breath, and kept herself steady while all her friends struggled against her magic. A couple of them tried to frantically pull against her aura, but it proved to be fruitless. “I’m not intimidated, Cadance,” said the Princess with the last of her wilting composure. “What’s your question?”
“Well, somepony seems eager~” Cadance and Sunburst chuckled with knowing glances at one another, and the stallion nodding in approval. Cadance floated the egg down closer to Twilight’s wall, marveling at how quickly it caught all of her friends’ unblinking eyes. Meanwhile, the Ex-Princess leaned in close to Twilight’s face, and gave her a maliciously wide smile. “The first one to answer this question will get the egg…
“Where... Is... Flurry Heart?~”
Twilight’s eyes widened, but she took a deep breath while keeping her muzzle tightly shut. All the others groaned and thrashed against the magical bondage, despite how uncertain they may have appeared as a whole. Spike was using his claws to try and pull the aura away from his mouth, which caught Sunburst’s attention greatly. But instead of trying to stop Twilight’s magic herself, Cadance kept her smirk and repeated the question. “I know that at least one of you is aware of her whereabouts. That means that one of you is guaranteed to get this lovely egg all to yourself. All you have to do is tell me where I can find my daughter~”
Twilight ignored the strained groans and muffled cries behind her. After breathing out shakily, Twilight narrowed her eyes on Cadance and gave a semi-determined grin of her own. “W-Well… that’s not going to happen! None of us were told where Flurry Heart is currently at, just in case you goons tried something this sick! Even I don’t know where she is! I hate to say it, ‘Cadance,’ but you two came to the wrong castle to as--”
**SMACK!!!**
“GAH!!!” Twilight stumbled to the floor the moment that claw delivered a sharp slap directly to her glowing horn. The distraction was painful enough to make her magic fizzle for a couple of seconds, and her wall to temporarily disappear. That brief window allowed Spike the perfect opportunity to lunge himself out of Twilight’s aura, and fall on his stomach before Cadance’s hooves. Twilight gasped when she saw him free from her grasp, and she tried to shout out to him desperately. “SPIKE, NOOOO!!!”
“I-I-I LEFT HER IN CANTERLOT THE OTHER DAY!!!” Spike clung to the Ex-Princess’ hooves with both claws, and stared up at her in pure desperation. Even with Twilight screaming at him to stop, as well as the muffled cries of envy from all of her friends, Spike only cared about that egg hovering over his head. “C-C-Celestia and Luna were the last ponies I saw with her!! I also heard them talking about Queen Novo at Mount Aris!! I didn’t see them leave, but I’m willing to bet they took Flurry Heart there! She’s over at Mount Aris, I SWEAR!!!”
Twilight was leaned up against the magical wall, her muzzle wide-open in betrayal. The other mares could only stare at him with mixed looks of shock and anger, even though none of them knew that information themselves. Meanwhile, Cadance and Sunburst grinned evilly down at the traitorous dragon, with the mare nodding happily. “Ohhhh, I knew I could count on you , Spikey Wikey~”
She leaned down to rub the scales atop Spike’s head, causing him to shudder and smile through his guilty blush. He may have felt bad about turning against Twilight and the others; but at the same time, his tailhole couldn’t stop puckering when he stared up at that floating egg. Even though it was over half the dragon’s size, he still trembled with his tail raising up instinctively. But while Sunburst took that opportunity to walk towards Spike’s backside, Cadance bent down to get in close to his face. “You know what I did when I got my first egg, Spike?”
Spike blushed deeply in worry, but all he could do was gulp before shaking his head. Cadance floated the egg down for Sunburst to grab in his hooves, which allowed her to get in close to Spike’s ear and whisper, “I proved how important it was to me by begging for it~”
Spike breathed out weakly, and shivered from the thought of doing something so wrong. However, when he turned back to Sunburst, the stallion’s eager nod wasn’t nearly as prevalent in the dragon’s mind than that egg in his hoof. For briefest of moments he glanced back at Twilight, who couldn't even move while holding the others at bay, and merely hung her head in shame. Spike took a deep breath, which allowed him just enough time to contemplate before making his decision.
“P… P-Please, Sunburst, PLEASE!!!~” Spike pulled away from Cadance’s hungry stare, and bent himself over in front of Sunburst. He grabbed hold of his tail with one claw, and pulled back as much as he could to show off his puckering hole. He used his other claw to try and spread his cheeks apart, further degrading himself in front of everyone. “I… I’M BEGGING YOU SUNBURST, PLEASE!! PLEASE LET ME HAVE THE EGG, I’LL DO WHATEVER YOU SAY!!! I’LL GIVE YOU WHATEVER YOU WANT, I DON’T CARE!!! I’LL DO ANYTHING, PLEASE!!! I NEED IT SO BAD, I’M BEGGING YOU TO SHOVE IT IN RIGHT NOW!!!~”
Sunburst grinned with a lick of his lips, and used his magic to float the egg out of the way. The stallion lunged in muzzle-first, and caused Spike to gasp loudly when he dragged his tongue across the dragon’s scaly hole. Spike’s eyes rolled back, and he shuddered with his fangs tightly gritted. Even though Sunburst’s tongue wasn’t what he wanted, he wasn’t one to complain when he felt that ravenous muzzle beginning to eat him out. “AAAAHHH!! Aaaaahhhhh… Mmnnnghhh ~”
Twilight had to cover her muzzle with a hoof, absolutely heartbroken that she lost her closest friend so quickly to Chrysalis’ mindless drones. The other Elements were all silent as well; however, they continued to stare at the spectacle quite eagerly while that egg was hovering in wait. Sunburst closed his eyes, and let out a rabid growl as he dug his tongue deeper against Spike’s petite little hole. The dragon may have been small, but that tight pucker was nothing compared to Sunburst’s lustful rimming.
“OoooOOOOHHH!!~ Ho… H-Holy crap!~” Spike’s eyelids fluttered in response to the stallion’s muzzle, with Sunburst’s lips smacking hungrily against his scales. The dragon’s little draconic cock could be seen fully erect and twitching, while Sunburst’s long goatee brushed against his taint with every flick of his muzzle. Spike tensed up between Sunburst and Cadance, his blush growing heavier in response to his own brimming arousal. Twilight was leading the pack, and flew at mach-speed through the castle’s halls. A few of the Guards were quick enough to follow their Princess, although a lot of them were captured before they could even move an inch. The combined auras of Cadance, Sunburst, and Rarity were able to capture several of the Guards instantly, while others desperately tried to run away. Any unfortunate Guards who decided to stay and fight were either caught in Applejack’s lasso, or tackled by the remaining ponies desperate to appease Cadance.
Before the Map Room was compromised, over three dozen Guards were stationed at the castle to protect Equestria’s last-remaining heroes. Unfortunately, by the time Twilight Sparkle managed to escape the castle and its crippling pheromones, only five of the Royal Guards were able to follow suit. All of them could hear the terrified cries of their fellow soldiers, as well as the enraged yells of the Elements who had succumbed to Chrysalis’ plans. But instead of going back to help them, or even looking back while running, Princess Twilight found herself with only the panicked Guards by her side as they bolted towards the closest “safe zone” they could find…
Of course, none of them were confident about how long, or how “safe” any place would be in the near future...

Much to Chrysalis’ surprise, the stallion’s rope was tied into a massive lasso, with dozens of former Royal Guards stumbling into the room behind him. All of them were still wearing their clanky armor; however, all of their eyes were glowing a bright shade of green to accentuate the blank smiles on their faces.
“Great news, Queen Chrysalis! Cadance and I managed to apprehend thirty-three of Celestia’s Guards at Twilight’s castle! And that brainwashing spell worked perfectly , I might add! I’ll just rope these guys into the Oviposition Room if that’s alright~”

When she re-entered the Throne Room, Cadance was trying her best to keep an optimistic grin on her face. Spike, who had already proven himself for the Queen’s approval, was weaving from side to side as his tiny feet shuffled bow-leggedly to her throne and sat beside his brother; Shining took that moment to hug the dragon dearly, nuzzling him with a gracious smile. “I’m so glad to see you.” he whispered. “How do you feel?~” Spike, moaned softly, enjoying the warm and affectionate hug. He placed his claws on his belly, feeling the circumference of the egg stretching his belly.
“Like a mother dragon~” he answered.
Meanwhile, Chrysalis waited a moment while her hoof was raised to contemplate how to respond to Cadance’s incompetence. When she finally stepped up from her seat, Cadance whimpered pathetically on the floor in front of her. But alas, there was nothing the Alicorn could do when Chrysalis walked up to her, and placed a hoof atop her back.
“It’s alright, Cadance…”
Her eyes shot wide-open, and she needed a blink a couple times before peering up at her puzzledly. “W… W-What?”
“It’s okay,” repeated the Queen, showing Cadance a surprisingly genuine smile as she rubbed her back. “Believe me, I know how difficult it can be to turn some ponies to the right side. I’ve made that same mistake with Twilight Sparkle before. I promise you I’m not mad…”
Cadance nodded her head weakly, but she still looked very fearful by the time Chrysalis pulled her hoof away. It wasn’t until the Queen walked past her that she was able to sigh in relief, her body still bowed to the floor. “Besides,” continued Chrysalis as she turned her focus towards all five of Twilight’s chained friends. “The two of you still managed to take her castle, her Guards, AND all her ‘Element’ friends in less than two hours. I might not be happy about that bitch escaping me again , but... you certainly made it harder for her to fight back~”
Chrysalis’ cruel words could certainly be heard by the Elements, as their ears twitched uncomfortably in silence. But with their muzzles tightly shut, and their blushes masking the optimistic looks on their faces, Chrysalis could tell that those pheromones certainly took hold of all their minds. She took another moment to admire all of them standing before her, and huffed with an amused smirk. “Jeeze, I can’t imagine how badly Twilight is going to handle being all alone…”
The Queen chuckled with a shake of her head, knowing that the withdrawal symptoms of her pheromones would make a junkie look dignified in comparison. She was sure that Twilight would find some way to counteract it, but she still wished she could see how badly the Princess would suffer without her precious friends. But with the rest of the Elements all standing for attention, Chrysalis grew a more intrigued smirk when she addressed them. “So , little ponies… did you all enjoy watching your dragon friend get an egg for himself?~”
All of them lowered their heads sheepishly, but still nodded in embarrassed silence. They could all see Spike laying beside Shining by her throne, with the stallion rubbing his swollen belly in admiration. The Elements all groaned with skewed muzzles and envious glances, hating that he was the only one among them to get such a good filling. But with Chrysalis standing in front of them, they all remained silent and hopeful for their turn to come next.
Chrysalis’ smile grew more sinister. “Well, I must say, it’s very nice to have you all decide to come out here to visit me… Does that mean that you all forgive me for our past discrepancies?~”
There were a couple of nervous gulps among them, since they knew that “forgiving” an enemy like Chrysalis was equivalent to slapping Celestia in the face. However, none of them tried to shake their heads either. Chrysalis took that moment to widen her gait a little, which allowed for her fat ovipositor to slip out from between her legs like a thick horsecock. All five of them gasped when they saw that meaty appendage, and they quickly nodded their heads up at her grinning face. “Y-Yes, yes!” blurted Rainbow Dash quite frantically. “W-We forgive you, we’re totally cool now!!”
“Y-YES!” Rarity tried to shoot the Queen a desperately wide smile to show her sincerity. “T-That’s what friends do! The past is in the past!”

Seeing how desperately they were acting, it was hard to believe that they caused so much trouble for her in the years that passed. But in their current afflicted states, Chrysalis was rather eager to test just how badly they’ll follow her every whim.
“Oh, that’s so nice to hear from all of you,” she said with a faux-thankful jeer through her saccharine smile. “Although… it’s quite a shame that your ‘friend’ Twilight decided to ditch all of you like that…”
All five of their heads dropped guiltily, still feeling conflicted about Twilight’s successful escape. Chrysalis took a moment to glance back at Spike, and shouted out, “Hey, DRAGON! Do you miss that selfish ‘Princess’ after she left without my eggs?~”
“Hmm?” Spike was resting against Shining’s side with a groggy smile, savoring that egg like he just devoured a banquet of the finest gems by himself. But even in his satisfied state, the dragon was quick to shrug and shake his head. “Ehhh… I guess not? I mean… I wish she was here, but…”
“Ssshhhhhh… ” Shining hugged Spike tightly and nuzzled him in reassurance. “It’s alright, little guy. We’ll get an egg in her soon enough~”
“We certainly will,” confirmed Chrysalis, before she turned her attention back to the other Elements. “But in the meantime… I don’t think it would be a good idea to associate with somepony like her anymore. After all, she didn’t want any of you to get an egg of mine~”
That last part was effective enough to get the fear in all five of the mares. They tensed up with worrisome winces, and nodded frantically to Chrysalis’ point. “R-Right, right!” yelped Applejack as she stared up at her wide-eyed. “We… W-We won’t talk to her until she agrees to join us! P-Promise !”
“Oh, but I don’t think that will be enough…” Chrysalis stepped in closer towards the five, her imposing presence causing them all to hunker lower in their chains. Even Rainbow Dash was whimpering like a little wimp as she eyed that thick ovipositor dangling beneath the Queen’s barrel. Chrysalis’ smile morphed to a firm glare, which matched her unwavering tone of voice. “I’m sure that all of you are fully aware of how significantly Twilight’s powers improve with her friendships. And if you want any chance of her crawling back to me, she needs to know that none of you will support her until she does.”
All their eyes widened in shock, and they gawked up at the Queen when the realization began to set in. Fluttershy’s muzzle trembled a little as it opened up, and she asked meekly, “You… Y-You mean we have to… s-stop being friends with her?”
“Only until she apologizes to me personally , and begs to be a brood-mare like all of you.” She could tell how badly that condition would get to them, and she turned herself around while they all brooded to themselves uncomfortably. “Of course, if you feel that Twilight is more important to you than letting me lay my eggs inside of you--”
“NOOOO!!!”
Chrysalis smirked out of their lines of sight, with only Shining able to see her and give an approving nod. When she turned around to face the Elements, they were all cowering to her hooves with desperate looks in their eyes. “P-Please don’t leave us!” shouted Pinkie needily. “I’ll be sad!”
Rarity screamed “We’ll do ANYTHING!!”
“We swear, TOTALLY!!” Rainbow Dash tried to hold onto one of Chrysalis’ hooves, with Fluttershy clinging to the other. “W-We already came all the way out here! You can’t just leave us hanging like that!”
“Oh, I can’t?~” Chrysalis shot her a sly, shit-eating grin without a shred of sympathy. “Do you want me to prove how easily I could?”
Rainbow Dash wilted like a fallen leaf, her muzzle trembling like she was about to cry. Applejack tried to intervene with a hoof cautiously raised. “P-Please Chrysalis! Ah… Ah’m willin’ to hear ya out if it means we’re all satisfied, okay?”
“Hmph…” Chrysalis turned to face the farmpony directly, making sure she was able to see how rigid her ovipositor could get beneath her torso. The thick, blooming head smacked against the underside of her barrel, which caused Shining and Cadance to let out shuddering groans upon hearing the meaty slaps. Applejack’s muzzle hung open as she stared at the ovipositor so blatantly, a trickle of drool already beginning to seep out. Applejack shuddered in the changeling’s embrace, and nodded her head faintly while staring down at that waiting appendage. “... R… R-Right…”
“That’s better~” Chrysalis then walked away from the mare, leaving her to wince painfully at that wonderfil ovipositor leaving her presence. None of the other Elements tried to speak up about what was being said; in fact, all of them seemed to be thinking really hard about what they would need to do to appease this fruitful Queen. Chrysalis walked back towards the former Princess, and gave her rump a swift kick so she could stand back up. “CADANCE! Did you get the items I requested from the Elements?”
“Y-Y-YES!! Yes I did!” Cadance instantly jolted back onto her hooves, and stood with a triumphantly wide grin. She lit up her horn to take off her saddlebags, and floated it to her Queen. “Before we used the portal, I had all of Twilight’s friends grab an item from her bedroom that meant a lot to them. I was hoping Twilight would do the same, but uhhhh… w-well, you know…”
Before Cadance could start looking guilty again, Chrysalis smiled as she peered into the bags. “Oh, this will do quite nicely! Thank you, Miss Cadance…”
Chrysalis took the bag back towards the Elements, and shouted out, “DRAGON! Come over here as well!”
“EEP!!” Spike practically had to roll away from the throne to get closer to Chrysalis, despite already being filled to the brim. Cadance took that moment to sneak back to the throne herself, and sit on the opposite side where Shining was posted. By the time Spike waddled back to stand alongside the captured ponies, all of them were blushing hard and standing for attention. Chrysalis pulled out the tools Cadance and Sunburst had already used, which left only the items that the Elements brought back from Twilight’s castle. The Queen used her magic to start another recording from the camcorder, which she levitated out of the way so it could record the six prisoners from up above.
“Now, before we begin… I’d like each of you to identify which gift you brought back from that pesky Princess~”
The first item Chrysalis pulled out was a plain yellow dress, which caused Rarity to lift her hoof. “Oh! I… I made that for Twilight as a birthday present a few years ago. I… I remember she really loved it…” She then lowered her head timidly, biting her lip when she saw it held so tightly in Chrysalis’ hoof.
“Alright then…” Chrysalis tossed the dress to Rarity, and reached back into the bag to get something else. “Oh, here’s Spike’s ‘Royal Advisor’ medal! I don’t need to ask who got that…”
She handed the medal to Spike, who held it dearly against his bloated torso. Chrysalis then pulled out a thick, vintage-looking book with Daring Do’s face engraved in the faux-leather binding. That caused Rainbow Dash to shout out, “T-That’s my contribution, Chrysalis! I gave it to her as a Hearth’s Warming gift.”
“How thoughtful,” she replied flatly, before tossing the book at the pegasus. She reached back in the bag, and tilted her head in amusement. “My goodness! What a cute little scrapbook~”
“Ooh, that’s mine!” chirped Pinkie Pie excitedly. “I made that for her with pictures of all of us together! It took a really long time to make!”
“Well, that’ll make this test much more noble for you~” Chrysalis handed Pinkie the scrapbook, reveling in the pony’s confused expression. The next item she found was a beautifully made scarf, knitted with yarn that matched Twilight’s colors perfectly. Chrysalis would’ve expected Rarity to have made that, but didn’t judge when Fluttershy raised her hoof silently. Instead, the Queen nodded and gave her the garment. “And I’ll make sure to remember how well you can knit, young lady~”
Fluttershy nodded graciously, happy to hear Chrysalis’ praises. That left only one item in the bag, which belonged to Applejack. When she pulled it out, she was surprised to discover it was an old dinner plate, which already had a sizable crack along one of the sides. It also had a hoof-painted apple in the middle, which had faded after years of use. Chrysalis stared back at Applejack in puzzlement, not expecting such a basic item from the last Element. However, AJ could only shuffle her hooves awkwardly and try to explain herself.
“That… That was the plate Ah used to serve Twilight and Spike my family’s dishes when they first came to Ponyville. After we all became such good friends, Ah… I figured she would appreciate havin’ something to show how much she meant to me that day…”
The farmpony smiled to herself after being given the plate, with the rest of her friends shrugging in understanding. None of them were informed as to why they needed to bring those items from Twilight’s castle; however, none of them tried to dispute Chrysalis’ order either.
“Now then…” Chrysalis tossed Cadance’s bag aside, while she and Shining watched intently from beside the Queen’s throne. She grew a wide, haughty grin before the six captured prisoners, while her ovipositor continued to smack rigidly against her chest. All of them were having difficulty focusing as they stared between the Queen’s confident smile, and that thick appendage drooling with her pheromone-laden juices. Even Spike could be heard gulping audibly, his eyes pinned on the Queen’s glowing midsection as he envisioned how many eggs were currently waiting to be laid.
“Right now, all of you are holding an item that bears a strong connection between yourself and Twilight Sparkle…” Chrysalis’ grin turned more obscene, and a malicious gleam could be seen in her insectoid eyes. “If you wish to carry my eggs, you each must do two things for me. First… You have to swear your allegiance to me , and declare that you no longer represent the nation of Equestria…”
The idea of betraying their own country may have been a tall order to give, but all of them gave meek nods in understanding. However, all of their eyes widened when Chrysalis said her next requirement with narrowing eyes, and that video camera floating in closer beside her.
“And secondly… you must declare that Twilight is no longer your friend, and destroy the item you’re holding to prove it~”
Back at the throne, Shining and Cadance gave each other a couple of surprised “O” mouthed expressions. The six standing before Chrysalis all needed a second to look down at the items they were holding, biting their lips when they realized how much the price of those eggs would really be. Chrysalis kept a confident grin on her face, and stood on her hind-legs so her ovipositor would stand fully erect. All of their bodies locked up at seeing her in such a stance, their faces no longer showing much conflict. In fect, they all stood silently when they heard Chrysalis command, “Swear your allegiance~”
With that big, meaty ovipositor standing for attention, all six of them shouted out at the same time, “I DECLARE MY ALLEGIANCE TO QUEEN CHRYSALIS!!!”

Spike cringed uncomfortably, but he knew he already made the plunge back when he got his first egg. Because of that, he only needed to take a deep breath before holding his medal up. “I… I’m no longer a citizen of Equestria! And… A-And Twilight Sparkle isn’t my friend!!!”
He blew a sharp, heavy blast of his fire breath directly on the medal, causing the ribbon to light up instantly. Several seconds of constant heat were all that was needed to make the golden metal melt in the dragon’s claw, before dripping off and sizzling on the crystal floor. With all the Elements watching in awe, Twilight’s former assistant turned her prized gift to him into a puddle of molten nothingness.
“Wonderful!” Chrysalis then walked up to Fluttershy, who was holding her scarf with a pained wince. However, the Queen didn’t need to repeat her order before Fluttershy complied.
“A-Alright! I… I…” Fluttershy stood up on her hind-legs as well, and shuddered when she saw that ovipositor pointed right at her. As soon as the blooming head opened up a little, the pegasus breathed out and grew a more determined look. “I… I’m not an Equestrian anymore! I follow Queen Chrysalis, and not Twilight!”
With all her might, Fluttershy ripped the scarf in half with her hooves. The yarn stretched out and snapped apart, before she grabbed more pieces and pulled them apart as well. The pegasus had her muzzle skewed slightly, but Chrysalis didn’t mind by the time she saw all those torn pieces of yarn leave a pile on the floor by Fluttershy’s hooves. “Hmph…”
Chrysalis only needed to shoot a stare towards Pinkie Pie, who stood up on her hind-legs to follow Fluttershy’s actions. “Nnnghh… E-Equestria is no longer my home! And Twilight is NOT my friend!” With her desperation clear on her face, Pinkie frantically ripped apart several pages of the scrapbook from the hoof-made binder. Spike complied with a quick exhale, causing Fluttershy and Pinkie to jolt back from his massive gust of flames. I’m no longer an Equestrian, NOR a friend of Twilight Sparkle!!”
Chrysalis nodded with a wide, sinister grin as she stood back and marveled at how quickly they were all complying. Rainbow Dash was already ripping out pages from the expensive book, trying her best to throw them into Spike’s flames. “Oh, screw it! I’d rather have the eggs than Twilight OR Equestria! I choose YOU over them, Chrysalis! ANY DAY!”
By the time they were all finished, all that was left was Applejack and her plate. The pony held onto it for a moment, her eyes closed as she tried to think for herself. But with Chrysalis standing right in front of her, and the ovipositor pointed right at her face, Applejack only needed to open her eyes before holding the plate up.
“If… If that’s what it takes, then…” AJ clenched her eyes shut, and stood on her hind-legs to shout out, “E… Equestria and Twilight are DEAD TO ME!!” And just like a wedding celebration, Applejack smashed that plate on the floor. The ceramic shattered into hundreds of pieces, not needing any further damage from Spike’s flames.
“Hehehehehe… HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAA!!!” Chrysalis cackled and threw her head back in absolute glee. Just like when she conquered the Crystal Empire in a matter of minutes, the satisfaction Chrysalis felt was absolutely unparalleled. She may have not had Twilight Sparkle begging at her hooves just yet, but getting all her friends to disown her for eggs was just as gratifying. The Queen needed to close her eyes to savor the moment, and took a deep breath before sighing deeply. “Aaaaaahhhhh… Oh, I can’t wait for Twilight to see a recording of that~”
When she turned back to the six Ex-Friends, they were all standing with their items destroyed at their hooves, and their attention pointed solely at their Queen. The Crystal Empire’s main castle looked similarly afflicted, with garish black cocoons melded against the once-shimmering towers. Two massive tapestries were hung at the castle’s front entrance, clearly having been made from various fabrics “donated” from Cadance and Shining Armor’s wardrobes. I know of several ponies in your Empire who could conduct trains towards further reaches of Equestria.”

The two resumed walking while Chrysalis continued to speak. “Honestly, I was worried my plans would be postponed when that bitch Twilight shut down the train lines from the Crystal Empire. “Ughhhhh…” By the time he was back at the Map Room’s doors, and given two more magical sweeps by the stoic Guards outside the doorway, Spike was looking more than a little fed up. Regardless, he kept his mouth shut when one of the Guards gave a specific knock to the door, which opened it for exactly three seconds. Spike bolted right through the opening, with the doors slamming shut the instant he got through. While Twilight used her magic to bolt the doors shut behind him, Spike shook his head and tried not to look too worrisome.
The enchanted Map Table may have been fully lit, with a full hologram display of Equestria hovering in view for everypony to see; unfortunately, it was beneath a massive pile of maps, documents, and various biology textbooks that had been accumulated over the past week. Every published paper on Changeling anatomy, the nation’s culture, past historical events, and anatomical graphs were all laid out so every Element could learn as much as they could about their enemy. There were also several newspapers scattered across the once-clean floors, many of which carrying published photographs of Shining Armor’s untimely downfall; not surprisingly, Twilight’s friends made sure to black out any explicit pictures of her brother with marker.
There was also a large corkboard erected by one of the walls, which had enough pieces of paper and red yarn to emulate the ramblings of a madpony desperate to find Pepe Silva. Several trash bins were lined up at the opposite end of the room, although none of the mares seemed to mind the disturbing overflow of garbage they weren’t able to throw out. Even with the water cooler nearby filled to the brim, and the two coffee pots beside it continuously brewing, it was obvious that all of them had become fatigued after so many restless nights.
“Jeeze, Spike! Did it really have to take that long?!” Rainbow Dash was sprawled out in her chair, her head reeled back in exhaustion. Spike was gracious enough to hand her one of the packaged meals himself; however, she quickly snatched it with the briefest “Thanks,” and ripped off the lid to dig into its contents with her bare hooves. The pegasus slovenly devoured the oats and freeze-dried berries, clearly in need of some subsistence while locked up for so long. But alas, much like all of her friends who were groggily taking their packages, Rainbow appeared just as bitter as before when she tossed the empty container over her head. “For crying out loud… If I don’t get out of this room, I swear I’m gonna snap!”
“Psh! You kiddin’ me, Dash?!” Applejack gawked at her with an unamused glare, but ate her pre-packaged oats without much complaint. The other three Elements were all struggling to stay awake, and lurched over the table with defeated looks. Applejack seemed just as distraught behind the dark bags under her eyes; but much like Rainbow Dash, she had enough fire in her to speak honestly. “You remember that Royal Order Celestia sent us, right? If any of us leave this room without notice, we can’t come back in.”
“Yeah, I know!” snapped Dash bitterly. “I know the rules, okay?! And believe me, I get it! But do you really expect me to just sit here when Spike’s able to--”
SLAM!!!
The deafening thud of that thick book falling in front of Rainbow Dash made everypony jolt themselves back awake. The pegasus instantly shut up, and glanced back at the source of that sound with a nervous expression. Applejack turned towards the friend’s direction, as did the other Elements present. Even Spike had his lip bitten worriedly when he looked over at the lone pony standing in the room. Right beside that intricately-detailed corkboard, Twilight Sparkle had her back turned to all of them while her head was hung low.
None of the others said a thing, and stared back at their leader in unified silence. Considering how badly things went the last time they had to battle Changelings themselves, the last thing they wanted to do was ignore Twilight a second time around. Despite how overwhelmed and exhausted they all may have been, their attention was solely on the Princess to hear what she had to say. But after letting out a long and heavy exhale, the Alicorn’s voice came out in a low, aggravated hiss. “Please… Please try to focus on the task at hoof…”
Rainbow winced painfully, but she complied with a nod before opening up the leather-bound book. Even though the anatomy texts of Changelings (originally gifted by the former King Thorax before his own demise) wasn’t exactly thrilling reading, Dash knew that glossing through the details would be better than getting another brutal braying by Twilight. The other ponies all tried doing the same, either rifling through the papers on the table or picking up other books strewn about. Given how tense the mood was getting, Spike tried to walk up to the Princess with utmost caution. “Hey, uhhh… Twilight?”
“Sorry, I’m sorry…” Twilight still had her back turned while pinching the bridge of her snout with a hoof. She clenched her eyes shut as she tried to maintain her composure. “I… I know I’m acting on edge, alright?”
Pinkie Pie, who was right between Rarity and Fluttershy, leaned in between them to mutter, “I’m glad somepony knows that…”
Spike quickly shot her a frantic “Shush” gesture while Twilight’s back was still turned. Luckily for Pinkie’s sake, that crass remark only resulted in a stronger sigh from the Alicorn. Twilight avoided looking back at the corkboard as she trotted towards the coffee makers, her muzzle wrinkling in obvious distaste. “I really don’t blame any of you for being upset. I just… I’m trying my best to keep everything together.”
“Oh, Twilight!” Rarity got up from her chair, and went up behind Twilight to give her a much-needed hug. “Darling, you don’t have to explain. We all completely understand.”
Fluttershy and Applejack were the first to get up and hug Twilight as well. The Princess tried her best to savor the moment while hugging them back, even as the details of Chrysalis’ invasion lingered in the back of her mind like a tumor. “We promised we were going to help you however we can,” said Fluttershy in an assuring, albeit tired-sounding voice. “And that’s exactly what we intend to do.”
“That’s right, Sugar Cube. If it was my brother, Ah’d be just as Tartarus-bent on gettin’ some proper justice.” Applejack placed a hoof on the Alicorn’s shoulder, and tried her best to give her friend a confident smile. “This ain’t the first time we dealt with Queen Chrysalis, but we can certainly make sure it’s the last time it happens!”
“Buck yeah!” Rainbow got out of her seat to give Applejack a hoof-bump in solidarity. “That’s what I like to hear!”
Spike and Pinkie Pie were giving Twilight some hugs of their own, all of whom clearly trying not to get too freaked-out about what was happening outside. It was bad enough trying to fight against an invisible invasion that could compromise everypony they knew outside; but after spending several days in strict isolation, it was clear that everyone was getting severe cases of Cabin Fever. By the time she pulled away, Twilight had to fan a hoof over her face to dry any lingering tears. And even with how distressed she may have felt about her brother’s state, she couldn’t help smiling when she saw how unified all of her friends looked in that moment.
Twilight decided to follow the advice of her sister-in-law, and took a deep breath before addressing her friends. “Alright, everyone,” she said with a newfound tone of diligence, “I know we had to take a lot of impromptu biology lessons this week, but it’s the best chance we have to learn about the Changeling race and find an edge against Chrysalis. And while all of you were researching theories regarding her weaknesses, I’m pretty sureI may have found a way into the Crystal Empire…”
High above the Map Room, while Twilight Sparkle began to relay her own findings, nobody seemed to take notice of the large metal vent installed in the ceiling. Due to the castle’s massive size, the heating and air-conditioning ducts installed were actually large enough to fit a couple full-sized ponies quite comfortably. And with the castle’s remarkably strong and crystalized foundation all around, even a pair of trotting hooves wouldn’t be heard through the metal ducts.
Or even… two pairs of hooves~
“Wow, great teleportation work, Cadance!” Despite how long he and the Ex-Princess had been serving their Queen without upkeeping their magic, it was surprisingly easy for Cadance to remember one of the key spells her sister-in-law had taught her. The Alicorn was still a bit dizzy from the daunting distance traveled with a flick of her horn, as well as aiming for such a precise spot detailed in Sunburst’s notes. But much like the former Crystaller had bragged, they were able to teleport directly inside the castle’s maintenance ducts and away from the Guards’ lines of sight. And even in their brainwashed states, Cadance smiled rather giddily and hoof-bumped her partner. “Our Queen was so right! We really do make a great team!”
Cadance nodded to his point, but she made sure to give a faint “Shush” motion to his excited whispering. Sunburst nodded accordingly, and lit up his horn so they could easily traverse through the ducts. He and Cadance didn’t have much issue following his blueprints, which led them right towards the Map Room. By the time they reached the metal grates, the ponies grinned wide when they saw the Elements of Harmony below.
Cadance and Sunburst glanced back at each other briefly, and gave a unified “Zip It” motion with their hooves darting across their lips. After nodding silently, the two went to work unloading the Alicorn’s saddlebags. In the left pocket, a large metal briefcase came out which had the faintest green glow emanating from the middle; both of them had to pause and shudder as quietly as they could, desperate not to let their own temptations jeopardize the mission. Even though they both knew what was in that case, they were also aware that Chrysalis explicitly ordered them to keep it alone. So after taking a moment to push the case aside, Cadance shivered and pulled out what was in the right pocket of her saddlebags.
Sunburst used his magic to carefully grasp the long metal cylinder, keeping it level as it hovered away from Cadance. The former Princess tilted her head curiously, not having been able to learn what Sunburst had invented in his spare time. It almost looked like an old cookie tin used to hold sewing equipment; however, several glass vials filled with glowing green liquid were carefully screwed into the top of the device. Cadance leaned in to get a good look at the bottom, and her eyes widened when she saw the large plastic fan installed. Before she could try to ask through sign language (a skill she and other castle staff had to learn years prior for their duties) what he was planning, Cadance could only watch as Sunburst carefully laid the device on top of the vent.
“So, as I was saying…” Twilight had no idea what she was in for, and was standing directly underneath the vents high above everyone’s heads. Her psychotic corkboard was temporarily covered with several maps of the Crystal Empire, including blueprints of the castle and ancient schematics from Sombra’s era. The Princess had her horn lit as she floated a pencil towards the main map. “After we closed down the trains, it seemed that Chrysalis closed down most of the access points in the Crystal Empire as well. However, the northern section of the city’s walls usually has the lowest number of Guards on patrol, so the best route would be to go in from the top.”
“The top ?!” Spike stared at her in total confoundment. “Twi, that’s the Frozen North! We’d all freeze to death if we tried to move through that much snow after dark!”
Rarity tapped her chin with a hof as she stared at the map with an equally wary expression, “Not to mention, any spells we might use to counteract those temperatures would likely be seen from the Guards present.”
“That’s alright, I already have that detail covered.” Twilight floated over a thick, ancient-looking binder with Celestia’s insignia engraved on the cover. “After Spike sent Flurry Heart to Celestia and Luna for protection, they lended me this book of their most advanced spells. I already memorized most of them, but there happens to be one which can…”
Up above the group of unsuspecting heroes, Cadance had to bite her hoof to keep from swearing out-loud. Only the briefest grunt came out, which was thankfully muffled enough for only Sunburst to hear. When she glanced back at him with a disappointed frown, Sunburst kept a warm smile on his face. Instead of saying anything, the stallion moved his hooves around to give her a message in sign language.
‘It will be okay. I promise you, your daughter will be in the Queen’s hooves very soon~’
If Cadance wasn’t thoroughly brainwashed, she would’ve been very terrified about such a statement being made from him. But much like Sunburst, Cadance was too far gone as she nodded with a gracious smile back at him. She even used her own sign language skills to respond back:
‘Thank you very much. I really hope we can make that happen.’
Cadance then closed her eyes with a wistful sigh, thinking to herself, ‘Don’t worry, my sweet Flurry... Mommy is coming very soon~’
Sunburst nodded back, and then turned his attention towards his hoof-made device. Right beside those glowing vials on the top, a red button and a small switch were installed for easy use. Since Sunburst already had the fan pointed against the vents, all he needed to do was flip the switch to make the fan spin with a low, near-silent hum. The briefest breeze could be felt inside of the Map Room; however, none of the Elements questioned it while listening to Twilight’s plan of action.
“... Now, after we use the abandoned catacombs from Sombra’s reign, we’ll be able to emerge inside of the Crystal Empire’s history museum. I’m not a hundred percent sure how secure the building will be, or how many Guards might be present. But compared to what we saw in those recordings, it’s probably safer than the streets.”
Twilight, as well as everyone else in the room, all shuddered with great discomfort the moment “recordings” were mentioned. Only Twilight and the other Princesses knew of the contents in them, but her friends knew better than to ask about anything Chrysalis personally sent to them. Up above the vent, Cadance glanced back at Sunburst with a puzzled look. Luckily, the stallion was quick to sign back at her about the context.
‘While you were out and waiting for your first incubation, our Queen sent out photos and videos of her triumphant return. From what I heard, your Ex’s wedding was on the cover of every newspaper in Equestria! She also sent out personalized videos of the egg depositing and laying processes for the Royals to see.’
Cadance almost let out an excited “Ooh!” in the duct, not caring one bit that the worst moment of her life was publicized so openly for everypony to see. Instead, all she did was sign back, ‘Wow, what a great idea! Hopefully more ponies will see how great it can be~’
Sunburst shrugged his head with a heavy blush. He then pointed at the device, and asked through sign, ‘Would you like to press the button yourself?~’
Cadance could hear her sister-in-law continuing to babble on about the plan beneath their hooves. But as her eyes darted between the device and Sunburst’s smirk, she couldn’t help asking silently, ‘What will it do?’
Sunburst grinned especially wide to that question, and answered through sign, ‘It will do all of the work for us~’
Cadance’s brows rose up with intrigue, and she gave a simple shrug before accepting that vague answer. She reached down, and pressed the red button while the fan was still running. The entire device started to shake from the motors inside, nearly rattling against the metal grates to alert the Map Room. Fortunately, Sunburst and Cadance were quick to put their shared weight down on the cylinder, which helped to keep it sturdy and quiet.
The glowing vials could be seen emptying out into the device, which made the whole container illuminate with that eerie green hue. The fan continued to spin at a faster rate, with Sunburst grinning evilly at his invention working properly. Even though a glowing liquid was going in through the top, the filtering and purification process of the motors inside were converting it to an invisible gas through the fans below. Cadance tried to look through the vents, but she couldn’t see any of the gas wafting into the room.
In fact, if somepony in the Map Room were to try and discern anything being deposited, the most they would see is a light ripple in the air like in a heat wave...
Return to the Brood 4: Elemental Takeover
After only a couple of minutes, the vials were completely emptied out and evaporated into the room. Sunburst quickly turned off the device, and moved it aside so they’d get a better view of the action below. Twilight was still going over her plans, with nobody seeming to notice anything amiss. Meanwhile, Cadance and Sunburst had to cover their muzzles to keep from snickering.
“Now, by the time we get to the castle, we’re going to go here .” Twilight floated a pencil towards one of the castle blueprints, pointing it right at a specific section of the cellar. “As Rainbow Dash and Applejack learned from our previous trip to the Crystal Empire, this section of the cellar has a direct line towards the drainage pipes beneath the adjacent road here . All we have to do is get underground as fast as possible, and we’ll… w-we’ll …”
Twilight paused for a split second, and shook her head while her eyes were clenched shut. Spike and the Elements weren’t sure what happened, but it didn’t seem like anything more than a migraine. The Princess breathed out after a quick jolt of her head, and blinked a couple times before resuming her plans. “Sorry, just a… a headache or something… Anyway, the cellar likely won’t be guarded, so we won’t have much of a problem making it upstairs…”
Twilight tried to keep herself steady, but she couldn’t help but ponder what just happened. It was only a second or two at most, but she couldn’t deny how strongly she felt… something . She wasn’t sure if it was a physical response, or merely something psychological, but she could’ve sworn she felt something that made her nerves tingle. Regardless, the Princess tried her best to continue explaining the plan without interruption. “Now, uhhhh… by the time we get to the ground floor, we m-might need to improvise if Chrysalis al… a-altered the castle layout a bit…”
Twilight’s eyes veered back at the board, and she floated the pencil towards the second page of blueprints. After inspecting the recorded footage delivered by Chrysalis herself, Twilight had made sure to mark certain parts of the blueprints with what she assumed to be the Queen’s assigned rooms. Several black marks were etched across the paper, with labels which made Twilight breathe out slowly. If she was just by herself, she likely would’ve assumed her heart was beating faster from apprehension.
Of course, if Twilight turned around at that particular moment, she likely would’ve realized that all her friends were growing more anxious as well…
“Nnnfff…” Spike was the first to start shuffling between his bare feet. Much like Twilight, the dragon couldn’t help shuddering a bit as he stood nearby the board. His chubby cheeks were beginning to blush the slightest bit, and his face started to feel a little hotter overall. He tried rubbing the back of his neck to relieve a little tension, but it didn’t stop his tail from twitching rather antsily. Even while Twilight tried to continue speaking, Spike had to walk off and get himself a drink from the water cooler. “Nnnghhh… What the…”
While the dragon tried to ignore his puzzlement with a quick drink, it didn’t take long for the rest of the group to feel similar sensations of their own. Applejack tried to pay attention to Twilight’s words, despite how muddled and stuttery they started to get; but at the same time, the mare had to take off her Stetson so she could fan her face. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash both squirmed a bit while standing, their wings instinctively trying to unfurl and spring out as they shivered against their sides. Rarity’s white fur made her glowing blush appear much more noticeable than any of the others, even as she tried to dab her face with a handkerchief. Meanwhile, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy were the first of the group to begin staring over at a different region of the corkboard; more specifically, the blueprint layout where one specific room was clearly re-labeled by Twilight earlier.
“N-Now, the Throne Room should still be intact for the most part,” continued Twilight after a strong shake of her head. “Whoo , uhhh… A-Anyway, that’s… that’s most-likely where Chrysalis will be holding most of her operations, so we should try to infiltrate that area first. But since we’re coming up from the cellars, that will have us move past some of the service rooms. One of those is the Laundry Room, which… w-which is the…”
Twilight paused for several seconds, her muzzle tightly bitten shut. Her pencil was shaking a little in her aura, unable to stay still while pointed at a particular region of the blueprints. Fluttershy and Pinkie were no longer the only ponies staring, as now all of them were fixated on one particular part of the map. Even Spike had to rush back in, his eyes growing rather wide when he read the label Twilight provided. “... the… the O-Oviposition Room?”
The Crystal Castle’s former Laundry Room, which was able to be identified through the footage Chrysalis sent to the remaining Princesses, had since become the hive’s unofficial room for egg-storage and the Queen’s indoctrination. Twilight and the others had all done enough research through the books to know exactly how the process worked, and what to do to avoid Chrysalis’ ovipositors if confronted. However, Rarity tried to subtly light up her horn to float over one of the biology texts from the table, as if she needed a “refresher” of sorts. All of the others were staring at that room pointed by Twilight’s magic, with the Princess herself needing to swallow some excess saliva. “... U-Uhhhh… Yes, that… t-that’s the Oviposition Room…”
Twilight’s hind-legs nearly buckled as she shuddered from saying that word out loud. All of her friends had to struggle not to groan by biting their lips, or even covering their muzzles with a hoof. None of them seemed to be aware of anything unusual going on, but they were all growing increasingly piqued by what that room contained. Pinkie Pie quickly raised up her hoof, like a filly trying to get her teacher’s attention in class. “Is… I-Is that where ponies go to… to, uhhh… y-you know …”
She quickly put down her hoof, averting her eyes from Twilight in embarrassment. The rest of the Elements squirmed and tried not to glance over at Pinkie; however, many of them had to cover their faces as they grew more blushed. Even Twilight had to take a deep breath before responding with a light nod. “I, ummm… y-yes, Pinkie. That… That’s the room where Chrysalis d… does those things…”
Nobody said anything for nearly thirty seconds, mostly since they were all becoming lost in their own thoughts. Rarity had her biology book floating closely to her face, which was already opened up to the specific section about how the Changeling Oviposition process worked. Even though there were no pictures, and all of them had read through that section before, Rarity soon found herself being bunched-up by Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash leaning in to read alongside her. Applejack put her hat down on the floor, and tried to look away from everyone while wiping sweat from her brow. Spike not-so-subtly picked up his friend’s Stetson, and blushed heavily while holding it up against his crotch.
“Do… D-Do we…” Fluttershy winced from how meek and feeble her voice sounded out loud. But after breathing in with her eyes closed, she tried her best to ask Twilight, “Do… Do we have to… g-g-go inside of that room?”
Everyone instantly looked back at Twilight wide-eyed, clearly interested in hearing her answer. The Princess stood flustered for a moment, her eyes bulging out and her cheeks carrying a deep shade of crimson. Her muzzle hung open for a second, almost like she needed to re-think her response. However, she still had enough composure to breathe out and shake her head. “N-No! We… We can go through a service hallway here…” Her pencil was trembling quite a bit in her aura as she floated it away from the Oviposition room, and pointed it to a small hallway nearby. “It was actually under construction before Chrysalis invaded the castle, so there’s a good chance it won’t be patrolled by Guards. We can use that to move around the Ov… O-Oviposition Room ... and avoid it completely.”
The idea definitely seemed feasible, even to Cadance and Sunburst as they listened to them silently from above. But as soon as Twilight mentioned avoiding that fateful room, all of her friends exhaled heavily in unison. It didn’t quite sound like groans of disappointment, but the group’s fallen expressions certainly didn’t help the implication. Up in the vents, Cadance and Sunburst struggled not to giggle from how quickly the pheromones were taking effect.
“I-It’ll be okay though!” added Twilight with a hoof raised towards them insistently. “Our main goal is to rescue my family and defeat Chrysalis! If we want any chance to succeed, we need to keep our focus on the Throne Room first and foremost.”
“Y-Yeah! Totally…” Spike tried to show his support with a nod of his head, although he couldn’t bear to look her in the eyes with that response. He also tried to ignore the strong stares some of the others were giving him in annoyance. He bit his bottom lip tightly, and tried to interject with a raised claw. “Although! Uhhh… What if… What if Shining and Cadance are in there instead?”
“Y-Yeah!” Rainbow Dash instantly jolted away from Rarity’s book, her wings twitching more notably against her torso. She pointed over at Spike while staring wide-eyed at Twilight. “Maybe they ARE in there! Like… you said that Shining was in that egg room in that footage Chrysalis sent, right?”
“Hey, WAIT A MINUTE!” Applejack gawked at Twilight with a deeply offended look. “What the hay is she talkin’ about?! There’s footage of what they’re doin’ up there?!”
Twilight froze up with a worried look, like a teenager caught with a bag of salt-licks in their bedroom. Spike and the other Elements were all staring up at her in shock, looking like Twilight straight-up betrayed them. The Princess cringed strongly and tried to look away from their judgemental stares. Even though she had every right to keep that footage unmentioned, she still sounded rather guilty when she finally spoke up. “W-Well, ummm… I didn’t really want to watch my brother going through that… I couldn’t even watch it with Celestia and Luna back in Canterlot.”
The six friends all lowered their heads, still composed enough to nod silently in understanding. Nopony said anything for several seconds, although most of them were shuffling uncomfortably with their muzzles skewed. It was obvious that all of them had something to say; but at the same time, none of them were confident enough to speak before the Princess. Eventually though, Spike looked away from her while keeping Applejack’s hat over his midsection. “W-Well, uhhhh… Do… D-Do you think we could see the footage? Like, for research or something? Y-you don’t have to of course, being your brother an-”
Pinkie Pie instantly blurted out, “Ooh, I want to watch it!”
“Me too!” piped Rarity, which was followed by Fluttershy meekly raising her hoof in agreement.
“I-It could be good to learn as much as we can, right?” Applejack tried to shoot her friend a wide and insistent smile while motioning back at the others. “I-I mean, y’all already saw it, so… w-why not us?”
“Now, w-wait a minute!” Twilight was blushing rather heavily, but even her quivering hind-legs weren’t enough to keep her from raising a hoof. “We need to stay focused on the plan! Watching those videos from Chrysalis won’t--”
Before she could finish, Rainbow Dash lifted a hoof and shouted, “All in favor of watching the footage, say Aye!”
The rest of the group all shouted “AYE!!!” in less than a second. Even Twilight, despite keeping her muzzle shut, didn’t realize that she raised her hoof as well. She instantly shrieked and tried to put it down, only for Spike to call her out. “Hey, I saw that! You wanna watch it too!”
“N-No I don’t!”
“Majority rules, Twi! Let us see the video!” Rainbow Dash seemed rather insistent with her hoof pointed at Twilight. “C’mon, Princess! You wanted democracy yourself, and we won the vote!”
“YEAH!!!”
Twilight sighed with a strong facehoof. The thought of watching that footage was making her nerves tingle intensely, but there was still a strong bout of apprehension about witnessing her brother’s demise. Even the thought of seeing Chrysalis’ fat… thick… oozing ovipositor working its magic… most likely carrying a huge bulge of her eggs slithering down its shaft like a snake swallowing up its prey… heck, maybe it even glowed all throughout, allowing them to get a proper look at how plump and heavy those eggs may have been before they--
“Uhh, Twilight?”
“NNGHHH!!” Twilight jolted her head up, not realizing that a couple heavy strands of drool were seeping from the corners of her muzzle. When she glanced back at her friends, all of them seemed a little concerned at how she was acting. Spike blinked a couple times while continuing to cover himself with AJ’s hat.
“Are… Are you okay?” he asked cautiously. “You just sorta, like… stood there for a couple minutes shivering.”
Twilight had to do a double-take, not expecting to hear she was lost in her thoughts for that long. One second she was trying to ignore her friends’ insistence in watching the footage of Shining Armor’s life as a brood stallion; but as soon as she thought about those weird… intriguing details about Chrysalis’ egg-depositing process, which most likely had a lot of--
“TWI!”
“S-Sorry! Sorry…” Twilight shook her head with her eyes shut, and winced while pinching the bridge of her snout. “I… I don’t know what’s going on… I think I had too much coffee or something…”
The rest of the group all glanced at one another, their expressions appearing equally as unnerved through their heavy blushes. None of them wanted to say anything, since it was clear that all of them were feeling similar sensations that they couldn’t necessarily speak about out loud. So instead of confronting Twilight about what may have really been wrong, they all merely shrugged or nodded in understanding. “Y-Yeah! Yeah…” Rainbow Dash motioned back at Twilight and said, “T-That makes sense. Like… coffee can do that sometimes, r-right?”
“O-Of course!” Rarity spoke up with a nod of her own. “Besides, we… we’re all just wanting to get up to Chrysalis’ castle so we can find those eg--Hostages ! F-Find those hostages , as soon as possible.”
“Oh yeah! There are hostages up there…” Pinkie chuckled weakly and darted her eyes back and forth. “A-And we… We should know as much as we can to figure out what Chrysalis is up to.”
“Like that footage of her laying eggs, right?” With how quickly Fluttershy made that remark, her neediness was becoming as obvious as her wide-eyed stare. “We… W-We could learn a lot from that!”
“Y-Yeah, she’s right!” Applejack pointed back at her while yelling to Twilight, “Come on, stop lolly-gagging and show us how she does it!”
“Oh, alright, FINE!” Twilight rolled her eyes with a groan, which somehow sounded both frustrated and relieved at the same time. She closed her eyes before lighting up her horn, which gave the others a couple seconds to try smiling to themselves without the others seeing it. Twilight wished she put up a bigger fight about playing the damn footage, since she wasn’t too keen about watching her brother in such a demeaning and envious position. Even when that second adjective entered her head, which made her eyes shoot wide-open in shock, it wasn’t enough to keep a large magical screen from opening up in front of her and the other Elements.
“Wow, those pheromones are amazing!” Cadance kept her voice in a hushed whisper, but neither she nor Sunburst seemed too worried about being heard while their victims were becoming so afflicted down below. “How much longer do you think it’ll take?”
“Just give it a little more time, Miss Cadance,” assured Sunburst as he peered through the vent with a wide and sinister grin. “The Elements of Harmony might be strong-willed, but I can already smell their arousal from up here~”
“Mmmmm… so do I~” Cadance licked her lips, and kept her focus more on Twilight than anyone else. “So, who do you wanna help indoctrinate first? I call dibs on the ‘Princess,’ by the way.”
“That’s fine by me…” Much like Cadance, Sunburst couldn’t help staring down at the little dragon squirming with a deepening blush. The unicorn’s eyes narrowed deviously when he said, “Just as long as I give him a stuffing myself~”
