Chapters I left the clifftop I was on and headed down into Ponyville. New town, new life was my thought at the time. I'm a Pegasus Stallion from far away from here. I came here to start anew. To try and be the one thing I know I'm not, which is to be normal.
And right now, I plan on doing my part not to have my secret revealed. I headed into town and was immedietly tackled from behind by a Pegasus mare.
"Oops. Sorry about that." The mare said. She had a cyan coat, but had a rainbow mane and tail. "Are you hurt?" She asked.
"I'm fine. Trust me, I am." I said, effortlessly standing up.
"Dang your strong." She said. I felt like I was about to sweat. "In fact, is that pure muscle I feel on you? Because I think it is." The cyan mare added. And just like that, I felt relieved.
"Believe it or not, I've never had to work out my entire life. What could I say except the fact that I'm lucky?" I asked. Lucky in the fact that I was born Abnormal. I added in my head.
"Lucky is right. If that's all natural, I can't wait to see how you fly." The mare said.
"Maybe some other time. I just got here." I said. Suddenly this Pink Pony showed up.
"NEW PONY ALERT!" The Pink Pony said and ran off.
"What the actual fuck did I just bear witness to?" I asked.
"Did...did you just swear?" The cyan pegasus asked.
"Do ponies not swear around here? Sorry, I'm from very, very far away. I'm not even from Equestria. I flew here on my own to start a new life. And of my own power." I said. That was the truth after all.
"How far away are we talking about? Because it has to be pretty bucking far away for you to be using actual swear words instead of the normal kind we're used to hearing around here." Rainbow Dash said.
"Further away than even where that forest I flew over on the way over here was." I answered. The Mare's jaw dropped
"You flew over the Everfree Forest?! And you're in one piece?! How in Equestria did you manage THAT?!" She exclaimed.
"Like I said, I got lucky." I said simply. Again, it was the truth.
"Wow. What were you, born under a lucky star or something?" She asked.
"I don't think so?" I said, unsure. "I honestly have no idea." I added.
"Well all the same, I think you're a cool guy to hang out with. My name's Rainbow Dash. It's a pleasure to meet you." The Cyan Mare said.
"You...actually think I'm cool?" I asked.
"Yeah. I'd love to hang out with you more later." Rainbow Dash said. I couldn't help but smile.
"Sure. I would prefer it if you called me Rob." I responded.
"Rob huh? Your name's cool. I'll let you get settled in here, then come find you. My friend Pinkie Pie will let me know where I can find you." Rainbow Dash set and sped off. I had to blink She was pretty much on my level of fast. Which struck me as odd. Well for now, I best get going and find a place. I easily found a place in town in the middle and then made some rounds.
That's when in addition to Rainbow Dash, I met Applejack the farmer, Fluttershy an animal caretaker, and Rarity a fashion designer. Though when I got back home, I was surprised by a mare named Pinkie Pie. Apparently, she's Ponyville's premier party planner. The consensus I got from everyone at that party she threw together out of nowhere on me was that she is random as heck. And so far, I agree with that sentiment.
Three weeks have passed since those days. Me and all five of those mares enjoy time every now and again as friends. For the first time in my life, I could be normal and enjoy it. I've grown especially close with Rainbow Dash whose enjoyed the fact that I do fly and do pace myself to make sure my endurance lasts.
But little did I know that tomorrow, there would enter a sixth mare, one who would cause me to reveal my secret. A secret I've been keeping underwraps on purpose in order to be normal. Even now, I worry that somehow, someway, I'll be forced to reveal my greatest secret. And then it'll be just like home all over again.
Because the fact of the matter is, even if I act normal, I'm not normal in the slightest. I'm Abnormal.

Season 1: Episode 1 - The Abnormal Night Part 1
Ponyville was soon to be host to the 1,000th Summer Sun celebration. I was in charge of the Balloons for the festival. Which was just fine by me. It was a task where the risk of my secret coming out was as minimal as possible.
"Hello there." A purple unicorn mare said to me. "I'm Twilight Sparkle, are you the one in charge of the Balloons?" She asked.
"Yes. I prefer ponies call me Rob." I told her.
"Well, I must say you...have a lot of balloons" Twilight said. "By my estimated guess, I'd say you have five hundred here." She added.
"It's actually four hundred ninety-five balloons." I told her. "Five hundred balloons even would be too much." I added.
"This is too much as is. You do realize a Princess is coming by, right? You don't need so many balloons." Twilight noted.
"Sorry. I got carried away because it's a task that's just normal enough for me." I said as I rubbed a hoof across my neck.
"Why are you wanting to do something normal?" The dragon on the mare's back said.
"First off, I came to Ponyville to be normal for a change. And second, what's a Dragon doing in Equestria?" I asked.
"Spike is my number one assistant and a trusted friend." Twilight said.
"I see. It's just that I've never seen a Dragon outside of this one area from outside of Equestria's borders. I'd tell you where it is, but then Twilight Sparkle here wouldn't come back alive. Many dragons there hate ponies." I explained.
"Hate seems like a strong word." Twilight said.
"I'm just telling it like it is; no point in short selling anything. Especially in that sort of hell-hole." I said.
"That's swearing." Twilight said.
"Sorry. I originate from far outside Equestria's borders. Even after three weeks, I still sometimes don't foalitize my swears." I told her.
"Well it was nice meeting you regardless." Twilight said.
"Same. We could hang out sometime later I think." I said as she left. Suddenly I felt a very familiar Pink Hoof grab me and the next thing I know, I'm in the Golden Oak's Library. "...Seriously Pinkie Pie?" I asked the party pony. I noticed Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity were also already here alongside a few other ponies from Ponyville.
"It's Pinkie Pie; when she meets a new pony in Ponyville, you bet she'll throw a party." Rainbow Dash said.
"Right, good point." I said to her. It was nice to be with Rainbow Dash at least. She's the only one who enjoys the way I am even if what I've shown her isn't the full truth.
"Still wish we didn't have to sit still in the dark, but I suppose things could be worse." Rarity said. The lights were all off.
"Well for most of us it's impossible to see in the dark." Rainbow Dash said.
"What's RD mean, Rob?" Applejack asked.
"She means that I am able to see in the dark. We got lost in a cave once; I was able to get us out." I explained.
"Well ah think that's pretty nifty." Applejack said.
"Indeed, it's a handy little ability." Rarity said before suddenly Fluttershy was dragged into the mix.
"Let me guess, you too?" I asked her.
"Yes." Fluttershy said simply.
"The new mare will be here any minute everypony!" Pinkie Pie said. Suddenly the door opened and Twilight Sparkle was surprised.
Sometime later, it was time for Celestia's apperence, but then this thing called Nightmare Moon appeared.
"Rainbow Dash, you and the girls get everyone out of here as soon as you can." I said and then stood my ground after the girls split with everypony else. "Okay you; if you think you're going to raze things here, you've got another thing coming. With no witnesses, I'm free from being labeled a freak or a monster." I told Nightmare Moon.
"Oh please, what does one stallion think they can do that other ponies can't do?" Nightmare Moon asked.
"You'll soon find out!" I said and then took to the skies before launching a magic blast at Nightmare Moon from my hooves.
"AND JUST WHAT IS AN ALICORN DOING DISGUISING THEMSELVES?! " Nightmare Moon said.
"Not an Alicorn I'm afraid. Been a pegasus all my life. I just so happen to have abilities from all three tribes running through my vains and I'm not afraid to use them to defend my new home." I told her. Nightmare moon laughed. "What's so funny?" I asked.
"Even if you defeat me, you won't get your precious sun back. I have after all, banished Princess Celestia to said sun using my own magic." Nightmare Moon said. "And that banishment cannot be undone with my death." She added. She then fled and I had to go to the Library.
"What was that blast? Did nightmare moon try and blast you with a magic spell?" Rainbow Dash said. "Never mind that, come on!" She added and I followed close behind. That's where we met Twilight at the Library again and she explained that in order to defeat Nightmare Moon, we need the Elements of Harmony of which there are seven, but only six are known: Honesty, Kindness, Laughter, Hope, Generosity, and Loyalty. The seventh one is a complete mystery, and the elements are currently hiding in the everfree forest.
Guess I'm going with these mares. Some stallion's gotta do it, so it might as well be me. And if I have to reveal my secret to protect these six mares, then you better damn well believe I will.
...Sorry, about the swear by the way...
Author's Note
So, it should come as no surprise that Rob's swears won't always be the same pony profanity from the show, and he will say more human swears such as "fuck" or "hell" instead of the show's normal "buck" or "Tartarus" comments. Every now and again there will be a pony version of a swear, but it won't always happen. The real-world profanity here is being used only as Rob's main gag that is meant to be on the same level as Applejack's accent or Pinkie Pie's occasional fourth wall breaks. It's why this story has a T rating instead of an E rating. Because outside of the real-world profanity, nothing is that NSFW here. In fact, the profanity is the only thing keeping this story from being E rated. While I could remove the profanity entirely, I feel like removing the profanity would make Rob no different than one of the side characters like Bon Bon with the only difference being that Rob is a main character right now while the lead-up to his big power reveal is happening.

Season 1: Episode 2 - The Abnormal Night Part 2
Twilight was a little reluctant to let the girls come along, but the moment I insisted I come along for their protection she was all for it. I'm guessing she could tell I had a heart of gold. And I do. There's nothing I wouldn't give to protect others. I've often times been praised for my ability to inspire others.
As we headed through the forest, the first thing that happened was some of the cliffs collapsed. There was a bit of a thing between Twilight and Applejack, but it wasn't that massive. Luckily, me and the two Pegasi mares managed to catch Twilight while Applejack found a way to hop down.
"Dang Rob, you're pretty strong." Rainbow Dash mentioned.
"All natural, I assure you." I responded. There was a Manticore in our path next, and while I was tempted to tap into my powers in front of these girls, it was Fluttershy who came to the rescue and removed a thorn from the Manticore's paw.
"How did you know about the thorn?" Twilight had asked the cream colored Pegasus.
"I didn't; sometimes we all just need a little kindness." Fluttershy answered.
"You should see her house sometime; she has a bear living with her. An actual fucking bear." I pointed out.
"Again with the swears? Seriously?" Rarity asked as we headed deeper into the forest.
"My apologies as usual; still trying to do my best to foalize my swears." I explained.
"What in tarnation do you mean by 'foalize' anyways?" Applejack asked.
"You say things like 'buck' and 'Tartarus' while I say things like 'fuck' and 'hell'. I can spot a swear when I see when I see one, and those are defiantly swear words, or at least they would be swear words but they seem very much intended to be used around foals." I explained.
"That's funny, we don't really consider those words swears around here in Equestria. So I don't see what your going for." Twilight said.
"I guess growing up in an area where swear words happen out the wazzo, your mind gets adjusted to them to know what's a swear word and what's not a swear word. And I'm telling you right now, those things back in my hometown would be considered swears for foals." I concluded. Rarity soon gave a shriek. "What? Was it something I said?" I asked. The white unicorn pointed a hoof behind me and when I looked behind me, I noticed that the tree behind me had a scary face on it. "Okay, yeah, I would scream too." I said before doing so before being joined by almost everypony else but then Pinkie Pie's laughing caught us off guard. She sang a song, and it defiantly brought a smile to my face. She seems to have that effect on ponies I've noticed. Out of nowhere a giant smoke monster showed up.
"Oh great now what?!" Twilight excliamed.
"Now? We punch this thing's lights out." Rainbow Dash said.
"Wait, this seems like a magically crafted apparition. It has to be Nightmare Moon's doing." Twilight said.
"Then leave this one to me." I said, stepping forward.
"Rob?" Applejack asked as my wings sprung out from my sides.
"Not gonna hold back against this thing. You won't see me the same way after I'm done with this thing." I told them.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Rarity asked.
"You're about to find out." I answered before suddenly a tree grew out of the ground and knocked the apparition off balance before I followed up with a series of blows before flying backwards and launching a magical blast at the smoke monster which vanished into thin air afterwards. When that happened, I landed. "...Alright, go ahead." I said.
"Huh?" Twilight asked.
"Get it out all out; call me names all you want." I said.
"Rob, what was that darling?" Rarity asked.
"My secret. It's the whole reason why I just wanted to be normal. I somehow have the power to effect the earth itself like the most connected Earth Ponies; the ability to fly as fast as the most talented Pegasi; and the ability to use advance magic spells like the most gifted unicorns. That magic blast you saw from Town Hall, Rainbow Dash? That was one of mine. I was born with the abilities of an alicorn, and yet I am very much still pure pegasus." I explained. "So go ahead: Call me a freak, a monster, an alien, or whatever else have you. It's not like I haven't heard it all before." I concluded.
"Are you kidding? That was awesome!" Rainbow Dash said.
"What?" I was confused.
"Yeah, that was super duper incredible!" Pinkie Pie chimed in.
"I will admit darling that your abilities are something to admire, not make fun of." Rarity pointed out.
"None of you are afraid of me?" I asked, still confused.
"As you would say, hell no; Sugercube, that stuff is part of who you are." Applejack said.
"And the way you did it to protect us was very noble of you." Fluttershy said.
"I honestly believe that you had nothing to be afraid of, but let your past try and define what you should be. And I'm glad that your powers are used for noble intentions. It's an insperation really." Twilight said, marveling in all of this.
"Though you and me Rob? We need to talk. I don't like it when people hold back on me." Rainbow Dash said.
"I...was afraid. I was afraid that if you knew the truth about my powers...you would be just like everyone else and label me as some sort of freak." I responded.
"Well...when you put it like that, I guess I can understand. But from now on, no more holding back, got that?" Rainbow Dash asked me. I smiled.
"Thank you...thank you all." I said with a smile. For the first time in my life, being Abnormal had strengthened the friendships I've made instead of destroying them. Right then and there, it was my decision that I would no longer hide away. I was Abnormal, and I'm not afraid to show it.

Prequel - A Stallion's Lament
Freak...monster...alien...these were just some of the things I heard back home. I come from far, far away. If you asked me how I managed to make it this far, I would simply tell you that I just got lucky. And I wouldn't be technically wrong about saying that either because it was pure luck, I ended up the way I did. Even if I personally think it was a cosmic case of extreme bad luck that gave me my...condition.
Let me start from the beginning. I'm a Pegasus stallion by the name of Robert Snowden, but I personally prefer to be called Rob. From the day I was born to my early childhood, I was seemingly just another male Pegasus. And then...it happened. One day on the playground, a bunch of bullies pestered me, and would not let up. Out of nowhere, something blasted forth from my hooves, and it scared ponies away from me. And things just kept getting worse as I grew up, with more and more seemingly impossible abilities coming from my very being.
I found out as I reached my teenage years that I had somehow been gifted the abilities of all three Pony tribes in their most extreme forms: The ability to harness the power of the earth like the most well-connected Earth Ponies; the ability to fly at fast speeds like the most talented Pegasi; and the ability to use advanced magic spells like the most gifted Unicorns. And yet, despite clearly having the powers of an Alicorn, I remained to look like a normal Pegasus Stallion.
I've since managed to find a way to better control my powers, but the sting of them never left me when it came to trying to make friends. Eventually I decided that I had enough. I ran away from home. Very far away. I didn't stop until I had flown over this massive forest.
That brought me here, to this cliff. I have found a sign just outside the village's outskirts that named the town. Ponyville is its name. And this is where I plan on making my fresh start. This time, I will do everything I can to be the one thing I know deep down I'm not which is normal.
Because the reality is the exact opposite. If you asked anyone back home what kind of person I was, they'd all tell you the truth.
That I am Abnormal.
