Only Friend

Dream

In the dream world, you laid next to Pinkie Pie upon a cloudy pink mattress, which floated high above the clouds in the lavender night sky. Your head was buried into her shoulder. Your whole body shook erratically, for you were emotionally distraught from the whole ordeal. Without reservation, you cried into her shoulder, soaking it with your tears. Pinkie Pie for her part affectionately held you with her front legs in a tender embrace, all the while she lovingly nuzzled your neck.

The softness of her fur against your bare skin felt wonderful. In the dream world, you didn't have to deal with the fact of getting an awkward erection out of nowhere it seemed. For truth be told, you did find Pinkie Pie very sexy. On a side note, you were considerably taller than her, she was only about four feet tall at the very least. She was noticeably plump but in all the right places. You didn’t know if Pinkie considered you a friend in a romantic sense, but you certainly were not going to push the issue.

As of right now, all you wanted was a friend, nothing more. You dared believe pursuing a romantic relationship this early may push her away from you. You strongly suspected happy endings had to be earned with blood, sweat, and tears here in this version of Equestria. Also, fear of rejection from her lingered in the back of your mind. The simple fact of the matter is, Pinkie hardly knew you. Hell, she didn’t even know your name. For your very survival, you needed Pinkie Pie to be your friend, so you were content to be simply her friend.

You could see Pinkie’s poofy tail twitch “Is there something you wish to tell me, my friend?” came her voice, ripe with concern. Her large blue eyes stared into your small, human eyes as if she was staring into your very soul.

You took a deep breath. Your heart was beating hard in your chest. It took you quite some time to summon up the strength to speak, and when you did your voice was low, and nervous. You turned your head to the side, you could no longer look at Pinkie Pie’s eyes, you feared she could detect you were about to lie. “It’s… it’s… nothing. I simply want a friend to hold me.”

Again, you saw her tail twitch, it seems clear she knew you were lying. “Well, okay. Just know you can tell me anything. I promise I won’t get mad.”

You were tempted to confess your feelings then and there for her. But you were simply too afraid. If you lost Pinkie Pie’s friendship, your life will be over. “It’s… it’s… nothing, Pinkie.”

Pinkie kissed your cheek, this came accompanied by a wet smooching sound. “Okay, my friend. You don’t need to share it with me if you don’t want to,” she said softly when she pulled away from kissing you.

For quite some time, you merely said nothing. You were too emotionally compromised to speak. Pinkie was quiet herself, she merely nuzzled you non-stop during your emotional heartache. Eventually, you managed to summon the strength to speak. You pulled away from her, earning yourself a sad whine from her, along with a sad puppy doggy-eyed look.

“Thank you, Pinkie. You saved my life,” you said softly, placing your right hand upon her cheek. The mare blushed profusely from your tender touch. You gave her cheek a loving stroke with your hand, causing the mare to lean into your hand and utter a happy, quiet whinny of bliss. She stared back at you with dreamy eyes with a big cheesy, silly smile on her face.

The mare whined sadly when you abruptly pulled your hand away. “Awww! Why did you stop? Mr?… uuhh… I never asked your name. What’s your name?”

“My name is Anon.”

Pinkie Pie giggled, a hoof coming to her mouth. “Hehe! That’s a silly, unoriginal name.”

“Hah. So is yours, Pinkie Pie,” in answer, the mare perked her lips at you and made a silly horse face. You laughed at her silly antics. However, curiosity soon got the best of you and you decided to ask her a question. “Pinkie, are you the only good pony?”

“Yes. It's just me I'm afraid. I am the only pony left uncompromised. I seem to be the only one immune to the potion.”

“A potion? Huh? What does it do?"

"It's some sort of mind-altering potion. You lose most of your free will and you become a vessel under Celestia's control."

"Most of your free will? What does that mean?"

"You can live your life normally for the most part. But if she commands you to kill somepony she perceives as a threat, you will carry it out without question."

"I see. How do you know if somepony is under control or not?"

“My Pinkie sense. I can detect if someone is compromised. I can listen in and hear Celestia’s voice whispering into their minds. There were others free like me, but one by one they were hunted down. As far as I know, there are only two of us left now, me, and Zecora."

"Oh, I see,” you said in a low voice.

The two of you turned to look at Luna. She was slamming her front hooves against the see-through sphere as she attempted to break it. You became worried at the sight of glass-like cracks forming on the sphere by her hooves hitting it. But thankfully, these cracks quickly regenerated within mere seconds each time she tried to break the sphere. It also appeared Luna was shouting at you, judging by her flapping mouth and her narrowed angry eyes. Thankfully, whatever she was saying was incoherent, and very quiet to you from the other side of the barrier.

You turned to look away from Luna and simply wrapped your arms around Pinkie, taking her into a tender hug. She in turn did the same, by wrapping her hooves around your shoulders. Her soft, spongy feeling hooves came to touch off your upper back. The mare wept quietly into your shoulder.

“Did Luna try to fight back?” you asked.

“Yes. But like us, she was ambushed. We were in the middle of celebrating the wedding of Princess Cadance and Shining Armour just after we were attacked by the Changelings. A large number of the Royal Guard stormed in, attacked the wedding guests, and forced potions down our throats. Ponies panicked and made an attempt to flee, but the Royal Guard sealed the exits, preventing anypony from escaping.”

“Oh my God,” you simply said. “What happened next?”

“Celestia grabbed me and my friends with her magic, and choked us to an inch of our lives before forcing us to drink the potion. Luna went downstairs to see what all the commotion was about. She was asleep at the time. Celestia lunged at her, and knocked her over, she struggled, but before she knew it, Celestia had forced the potion down her throat, and then it was over. Everypony, apart from me in the throne room was brainwashed into her slave, then Canterlot, and eventually all of Equestria.”

“Pinkie, did you simply stand there? Did you try to do something?”

“I was in a state of shock. I had no idea how to react. I could only watch in horror as the events transpired in front of me. Others tried to fight back, but it was pointless. Once Celestia showed up, she would simply choke you with her magic, and force you to drink the potion, and you would end up becoming another slave to her will.”

“What about non-ponies? Like the griffons, and—”

“We simply killed them. Some others like the Zebra were spared since they were distantly related to ponies. However, we did kill all the Changelings even if they had pony blood in them. We set their hive ablaze to make sure no eggs would hatch.”

“What kind of bullshit Equestria is this?” you said, raising your right hand up in exasperation.

She sighed deeply, looking away from you. “It wasn’t always this way. Something happened to Celestia. Something bad. I don’t know… if I can stop her. I cannot wield the Elements of Harmony by myself. My friends hate me, and suspect me of being a traitor, just like Spike.”

“What happened to Spike.”

“He… he… was… was…” she wailed in grief, and buried her head into your shoulder. “I don’t want to talk about it! It hurts… so much.”

Somehow, Luna’s voice broke through the barrier. “We attached rusty iron chains to his legs and arms. He objected to our extermination of the dragons,” Pinkie simply wailed in grief into your shoulder, soaking it with her tears. While you, yourself simply glared at Luna with hate in your eyes.

She continued. “Like a pathetic worm, the baby dragon cried out for Twilight and Rarity to help him. However, they simply smiled, before we pulled the chains and ripped Spike’s arms and legs off. He cried like a pathetic whelp before he died. Unfortunately, Rarity acted so foalish, she ended up screaming and crying like an idiot. Rarity rushed forward to hug Spike’s mangled corpse and cried. Fortunately, my sister soon grabbed Rarity by the neck, and choked her, before forcing her to drink the Purification Potion, and all was well again.”

“Snap out of it!” you shouted, before speaking calmly. “Luna, do you even hear yourself?”

“It is you, who is deluded human. We will find you. And you will suffer the same fate Spike had. And after we are done with you, we will find where you came from, and extinguish your species from existence beneath the might of our hooves. Equestrian’s hegemony will spread to the stars, and beyond.”

You simply stared in shock, your whole body trembling. “You are disgusting. Someone will stop you.”

“Equestria can’t be stopped. This exchange is over,” Luna simply said, vanishing from sight with a puff of purple smoke.

You simply held the distraught mare in your arms. Pinkie Pie’s whole body was shaking erratically, her tears soaking your clothes. You did your own form of nuzzling by kissing and licking her neck in an attempt to make her feel better. You didn’t care how long it would take, you were going to hug and nuzzle this mare until she calmed down.
