Sonic, a 13-year-old boy with incredible super speed, is tasked with finding seven powerful gems in order to save his home from darkness, which leads him to a place called Canterlot City. At first, Sonic embraces his new home - until he accidentally causes a citywide blackout, catching the attention of diabolical mastermind and evil inventor Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik.
