New Girl

The next morning Wynter and Sunset emerged from their suite. They were both greeted by Spike. “Did the two of you sleep well last night?” He asked.

Sunset and Wynter turned to look at each other. They smiled and giggled. “Yeah, you could say that.” Sunset replied. Spike was confused, but he continued on with why he was there.

“I just came by to tell you that breakfast is ready in the royal hall. It’s an all you can eat buffet!”

Both Sunset and Wynter made their way to the royal hall. As soon as they opened the door, they were greeted by the smells of various breakfast foods being served. Wynter grabbed a plate and instantly went over to the pancakes station. She made a very tall stack of pancakes topped with syrup, strawberries, and whipped cream. Sunset settled for a bowl of oatmeal, a side of mixed berries, and hay bacon strips.

Wynter and Sunset soon joined each other at the grand table where they each poured themselves a cup of coffee. “Whoa, you must have quite the appetite.” Sunset remarked as she gazed at Wynter’s stack of pancakes.

“You bet I do, especially after last night.” Wynter said with a smirk. After finishing their breakfast Sunset and Wynter headed out into Canterlot city to see the sights. Wynter was fascinated by what she saw. She felt like she was in a European city. Of course, Wynter had never been to a foreign city before. Much less one that was populated by magical ponies.

The first place that Sunset and Wynter stopped at was the Canterlot fountain. Wynter was in awe of the marble and gold statues that depicted Earth, Unicorn, and Pegasus ponies with water squirting out of their mouths. Wynter unzipped her backpack and removed her phone. “Sunset, will you please take my picture?”

“Of course I will. Now smile!” Sunset held the phone up with her magic. Wynter smiled as Sunset took the picture of her in front of the fountain. Wynter then trotted over and looked at the picture.

“It’s perfect!” Wynter said. She then placed it back in her backpack. “What part of Canterlot should we see next?”

“We have to check out the royal gardens. It’s filled with exotic plants and adorable animals from all over Equestria.”

Wynter followed Sunset to the royal gardens. Once they arrived Wynter was mesmerized by all of the flora and fauna that the royal gardens had to offer. The first thing she did was look at the tulips, as those were her favorite flowers. Wynter then looked up into a nearby tree to see various birds resting on branches including Blue Jays, Robins, Mourning Doves, and Sparrows.

A raccoon then walked up to Wynter. She thought that it was so cute with its striped tail and masked face. Wynter reached into her backpack and took out a snack bar. She gave it to the raccoon who devoured it with a big smile.

“Aw, it looks like you made a friend.” Sunset said.

“This place is just amazing!” Wynter twirled around and took in a deep breath. “The flowers smell so sweet! I have never smelled anything like this back home.”

“That’s because the pollen from these flowers automatically matches the smell of whatever it is you like the most.” Sunset explained.

Wynter smiled slightly and blushed. She was too embarrassed to say that her favorite smell was Sunset’s perfume. After exploring the royal gardens Sunset suggested to Wynter that they should get some milkshakes. They both went to a local ice cream parlor and Wynter ordered a strawberry milkshake while Sunset ordered a chocolate milkshake.

Wynter took one sip of her milkshake and she was blown away. “Wow! That’s the best milkshake I have ever tasted!”

“Well, Canterlot does have the best ice cream and access to the freshest milk.” Sunset explained. Wynter couldn’t help but laugh as Sunset spoke with a chocolate mustache. Sunset noticed and quickly wiped her mouth. “You’re such a dork.” Sunset said with a smile.

Once they were done with their milkshakes Sunset took Wynter to the Canterlot zoo. At the zoo Wynter got to see animals that she had only read about in fantasy novels. There were owlbears, timberwolves, ursa minors and majors, chimeras, and more.

Wynter loved seeing all of the animals. “Please tell me this place has a petting zoo.” Wynter said to Sunset.

“You bet it does.” Sunset replied. “How would you like to pet a Jackalope?” Sunset then led Wynter to the petting section of the zoo. Wynter immediately began playing with the jackalopes, which were basically rabbits but with antlers. She fed them pellets and even cuddled with the babies. Sunset looked on, taking photos with her phone.

Wynter finished playing with the Jackalopes and went back over to Sunset. “I’ve never been around animals that cute before!” Wynter said to Sunset.

“I’m around a cute animal all the time.” Sunset then kissed Wynter. Wynter smiled and kissed Sunset back.

“What do you say we go back to the royal suite and enjoy our own private petting zoo?” Wynter asked.

Sunset nuzzled Wynter. “Easy there Miss frisky. We still have to get ready for dinner with Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.”

“Even Principles Celestia and Luna have pony counterparts?” Wynter asked.

Sunset nodded her head. “That’s right. And they really want to meet you.”

Wynter was flattered. “Another dinner with royalty? I must say I am very honored.”

“Well then, we should go and get ready.” Sunset said.
