God of War: Daughter of War
Equus: The Crystal Empire
Previous ChapterNext ChapterFollowing their clash, and understanding that she had found someone that she could actually use her full power against, Flurry and her group discovered that there was one last thing for them to do on Equus, which was what the planet she came from was called, and that was heading to her old home.
"So, where did Flurry live before she was displaced?" Atreus asked, mostly because this was a nice change of pace, simply exploring a new land and not having to fight for their lives all the time, regardless of what his sisters had done, though as he said that everyone returned to the area they had been in before Flurry and her aunt fought each other, "Did she live in the mountain city?"
"Canterlot? No, Flurry didn't grow up in Canterlot... I did, however, before I was sent to Ponyville, during my first life... what came after my displacement was, well, interesting to say the least." Twilight replied, though there was a massive story linked to her own past, especially since she did quite a lot before she was displaced, so for now she would only give them a short bit of information, which she might expand upon later, once Flurry was done focusing on exploring her home world, "Her home is in the Crystal Empire, in the Frozen North."
"Really? Well, at least we'll be used to the cold, since we spent the last three years dealing with Fimbulwinter." Flurry said, because while she had protected their home with her magic, staving off the weakness aspect of the terrible winter, they did have to deal with the cold every now and then, meaning they had gotten used to it while preparing for the future, which only evolved into war against Odin, "How are we going to get there?"
"Normally we'd take a train, but that would be a little slow... so we'll use magic." Twilight stated, where she held out her staff for a moment and beckoned for the others to get close, not too close since she formed a circular area around them with her magic, allowing everyone to watch as the area around them faded away as they teleported to a new location.
The area that they appeared in was a grassy area on the inside of a massive barrier, as there was a massive strange crystal castle in the center of what looked like a city made of crystals, where Flurry realized that this had to be the 'Crystal Empire' that her aunt had just mentioned. Behind the barrier was a snow covered wasteland, where she figured that the barrier had the power to transform the snow into water and moisture, likely directed to some part of the empire to ensure they had all of the essentials for life, or at least that was her thought on the matter. As Twilight beckoned for them to follow, however, Flurry noticed that the people that lived inside the empire were, in fact, ponies, much like the ones that were hanging out in Ponyville, though the main difference was that these ones had coats and manes that looked like they were made out of pure crystal. They also discovered something else, the residents of the empire were looking at her with hope in their eyes, like all of them knew her or knew of her before she was displaced, but she wasn't sure she knew any of them, and she could tell that her group was drawing a lot of attention from the crystalline ponies.
Despite having her old memories restored by Sairozormi, who was still with them since she seemed to be one of her aunt's main followers, there was still quite a lot that Flurry didn't know, and right now the only one who could answer them was Twilight, and when she noticed some of the ponies bowing their heads slightly she decided to speak her mind.
"Aunt Twilight... who was I exactly? Who were my parents?" Flurry asked, because she was young when she was displaced, a fact that meant that what she knew was limited, and right now she needed some answers before she wondered what the future might hold in store for her and her family, not to mention her still missing parents.
"Right, you wouldn't have been told much since you were still young before you were displaced." Twilight replied, stopping for a moment as she turned to face the group, though her eyes were on her niece, even though she could see that the rest of the group was interested in the information that Flurry wanted to know, "You are Princess Flurry Heart, daughter of Prince Shining Armor, my brother, and Princess Mi Amora Cadenza, or Cadance as she prefers to be called... Shining is a unicorn and he used to be the Captain of the Guard in Canterlot, but then he married my old foalsitter, while Cadance is an alicorn, and you, my dear niece, are the first natural born alicorn in over a thousand years. I, myself, was a unicorn and ascended to being an alicorn, while Cadence used to be a pegasus before her own ascension... remind me to tell you that at some point, as it was an interesting event that brought about my ascension. Each alicorn has a specific 'domain' that we're connected to: Princess Celestia, for example, is the 'Solar Princess' and is connected to the sun; her younger sister, Princess Luna, is linked to the moon, Cadance is connected to love, and I'm magic itself... you, Flurry, didn't have such a title."
"Hang on... she's a PRINCESS?!" Atreus remarked, while Flurry just stood there, stunned, as she wasn't expecting that bit of information to be given to her, though everyone else seemed to be debating the information as well, because this raised a lot of questions while it answered a few questions that Flurry had about herself.
"No wonder the crystalline ponies are so hopeful, I'm next in line since my parents are missing." Flurry said, which was an interesting thing to think about after she listened to her aunt, though at the same time she glanced at the empire while she thought about what she wanted to ask next, which was when they entered the castle itself, "So where did they go? And what happened to the one that caused my displacement?"
"Discord has confirmed that Cadance and Shining Armor, plus their guard Flash Sentry, ended up on the world that Grogar, the King of Monsters, ended up on... don't worry, they aren't in danger." Twilight stated, though as they passed by the throne room she seemed to pause for a moment before nodding to Sairozormi, who nodded in turn and disappeared, causing her to focus on the path as she showed them around the castle that used to be Flurry's home, "Sadly Discord has lost his way to the planet in question... in fact I believe the magic that displaced your parents and their guard has made it so he can't show up and bring them back before their adventure starts. As for Grogar, he's a villain that has turned over a new leaf, having saved an island full of unique and interesting lifeforms from being blown up... he said something about an 'Elder Dragon' being repelled before it could die in the wrong spot, that it was a walking active volcano... I should look into that world, once I have the time to do so."
"So he is a hero now? That is good to hear." Kratos commented, though he was impressed that the magic that displaced the various inhabitants of this world knew where to send some of them so that even villains could turn over a new leaf, while at the same time noting that there might be more to the tale of villains turning into heroes, "What about the figure my daughter asked about?"
"That would be Chrysalis, former Queen of the Changelings... a race of shapeshifters who fed on love, at least until some of them found a new path." Twilight said, which was one of the more interesting memories, especially since Spike had helped bring about a revolution with the species in question, even if it meant dethroning the existing leader and replacing her with someone else, someone who had grown into his new role, "Chrysalis held a grudge against your parents, since it was their love that blasted her and her race out of Canterlot... trust me, that is another tale worth telling in greater detail... and likely thought that capturing you would give her a bargaining chip against your parents. From what I can tell you warped yourself and Chrysalis to the Tree of Harmony... still trying to figure out how you knew where it was, since no one showed you where it was and no one took you there... and then you simply cried or screamed at her, sending Chrysalis through a rift in space and time. I'm still searching for you, you know, because I'm sure she's out there, in the vastness of our universe, but so far my forces and I haven't found her, which is impressive since I have Sairozormi and the other Keepers searching for her."
"Out of curiosity, where did the Keeper in question go?" Tyr asked, because that had been an interesting thing for them to see, one version of Twilight just leaving without actually saying anything to the rest of the group, and he could see that the rest of the group was interested in learning about what was going on.
"Oh, that... the Umbrum, a race of shadow ponies that were sealed in a special prison and locked below the empire, just up and vanished, and Sairozormi has been investigating them for me." Twilight stated, though at the same time she looked like she was deep in thought about something, like there was more to the situation and she didn't want to alarm them, before Twilight sighed as she considered how much she could actually tell them without freaking them out, "They disappeared one year ago, and recently we've been detecting new damage to space and time... that's why Rivet was happy that opening the rift to your location had been successful, since someone is screwing with the fabric of reality. Sairozormi is checking on the area that the signals are coming from, to see if it's someone seeking aid or a villain seeking the end of the universe... really, you'd be surprised by the amount of morons who actually want to destroy all of reality, it's staggering at times... and once she's had a chance to determine what's going on she'll come back and tell me. It's also worth noting that the area she's been assigned to is where we're sure Sombra, Fluttershy, and Radiant Hope were sent to, but have yet to confirm that piece of information... honestly, the damage we're seeing is like what happened with Rivet and her family not that long ago, and that conflict was ended by a dimensional war."
"So before we fight a war with demons, for the fate of this world, we might have to engage in a dimensional war?" Pandora asked, because that was what it seemed like based on the information that was being presented to them, though she and her family were ready for such a thing, because they were warriors and this seemed to be why her sister was displaced in the first place, to help save not only Greece and the Nine Realms, but also her home world, "Very well. Why don't we head to the area that you've set aside for training and see what we can offer to the rest of the army you've gathered so far?"
"You know, that reminds me: you said you had an armada, so why don't you just attack the demons now?" Flurry asked, as while she understood that her aunt wanted to find the rest of the Displaced, and add their power to what she had so they could entrap the demons and wipe them out, it really seemed like her aunt could just march on the demons with her entire armada and end the war before it even started.
Twilight sighed and brought them into one of the rooms, a large one that was bare since there was nothing in it, before her magic rolled over the area as she revealed what appeared to be a lizard person who stood as tall as a human and wore an odd set of attire, he had large goggles on his head and a robe of some sorts, plus she conjured a spherical world that looked like it was entirely made out of metal.
"This demon is special, because he's the only General class demon to retire... from what I've been able to tell most Generals die in battle, and he's the only exception." Twilight stated, though Flurry could tell that her aunt was thinking about what she and the others were seeing right now, but her eyes were locked on the planet and not on the lizard demon, where Flurry did note that the retired General had ivory spikes on his arms and a pair of black horns on his head, while his body was a faint blue color, "From what I've observed so far, he's one of the more intelligent demons and is responsible for the creation of their advanced communications system, the improvements to their ships, and a number of other advances... plus there is a vast amount of energy gathering on his mechanical world, but for what purpose we don't know. I suspect that he has some sort of weapon in the depths of that planet, one capable of pure destruction, so I'm not launching an attack on the demons until I've learned all I can about them and their empire... and make sure that I can trap the mechanic retired General before he's able to awaken his terrible weapon."
Kratos nodded, he agreed with the plan, Twilight was focusing on what could be the greatest threat of the demon's forces, a weapon of untold power that she didn't want to see the activation of, and he knew that he, Flurry, Pandora, Atreus and the others could help them prepare for whatever the future held in store for them.
