Earth 616

New York City

It was Pinkie Pie who entered the portal first, the way she bounced into Earth 616 could only be matched with her bubbly personality, and even then nothing could compare to the way she felt now. Parties were her whole thing, so the fact that she was hosting this massive get together with new friends from other worlds made her beyond excited.

It was known fact that nopony could host a party like Pinkie Pie, there was just no comparison, not even close. The way she just sets it up in minutes without any help was beyond astounding, even her friends had no clue how she did it. Granted Twilight drove herself up the wall trying to figure the pink pony out, but eventually she gave up and chalked everything up to 'Pinkie being Pinkie'.

So when Twilight stepped out of the portal and entered Stark Tower's top floor, she wasn't surprised to see that the main lounge was decorated with banners, streamers, balloons, snacks, and pretty much everything one would need for a party like this.

Tony, however, "Wait, what? How the hell?" He walked around his house, looking at how everything was set up, while everyone else walked through the portal, including X-PO, who used the Gateway on Vorton to intercept the Rift to this world so that he could join them.

Marveled awes filled the room, mainly from Rapunzel, Woody and the gang, the Mane 6, and those who didn't have access to this kind of place back in their dimensions. The technology displayed in the main lobby was astonishing to say the least. And it seemed that Woody and the others had reverted back to their original sizes while the Autobots had shrunk down to fit inside the tower, all thanks to the portal.

"So, this is how humans see the world." Arcee mused as she looked down at her hands.

"Interesting." Ratchet muttered to himself.

As everyone looked around, Pinkie Pie suddenly popped up in front of the Guardians and the Equestrians and asked, "So, what do ya think? Do you like it? Huh? Huh? Huh?" She was jumping up and down on the spot, repeating herself over and over again.

Twilight giggled and replied, "It looks great, Pinkie."

"Yes," Celestia agreed, standing next to her student, "I've been told that you're quite adept when it comes to throwing parties. Twilight herself as expressed so in her Friendship Reports, and I must admit that I've been curious if the wedding reception was a fluke or not."

Rainbow laughed, "Trust us, Princess, there's no party like a Pinkie Pie Party!"

"Hang on, hang on, hang on a second!" As Tony removed his helmet he looked to the Party Pony and asked, "How did you get this done so quick?"

"Party Cannon."

"I'm sorry wha?"

"Party Cannon."

"That's not an explanation. What..."

"Party Cannon."

Tony just gave her a deadpanned expression before throwing his hands up in frustration, "I give up, that's it." He pinched the bridge of his nose before walking over towards his bar, "I need a drink, and to cash in a favor. This party needs entertainment after all."

As the Armored Avenger walked away, the Guardians and the Equestrians looked at one another before Pinkie shouted, "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's PAAAAAARRRTY!!!"

It was safe to say that the after party was going off without a hitch, everyone was having a good time conversing with one another, laughing together and sharing stories of their adventures with the Guardians and ones prior to that. Music was playing through the main lounge with strobe lights lighting up the night.

The likes of Princess Luna, Black Widow, Rapunzel, Arcee, Rarity, Princess Peach, and Wonder Woman were all sitting down in a circle, with some sitting on the comfortable sofa chairs while others stood up. Princess Luna swirled her glass of red wine around with her magic, clinking the glass against Natasha's, who was partaking in a glass of champagne.

Rapunzel looked down at her glass of wine in wonder, "I've never tried anything like this before."

Luna smirked at the young princess, "Oh trust me, you will love it." She took a sip before continuing, "I too was hesitant to try it when I first returned from the moon, but much like my sister, I have come to appreciate the taste and it has become a sort of delicacy for me."

"So your sister likes to drink too?" Romanoff asked with a coy smirk on her face.

"A little too much if you ask me." Luna muttered to herself as she took another sip.

Rapunzel slowly, but surely, took a small sip of her drink. When the liquid touched her taste buds her face scrunched up at the strong taste. Luna smirked at the young girl while the others laughed, finding the scene quite humorous.

Wonder Woman looked down at Rarity, who was sitting down next to Arcee, and asked, "So is it true that she and her sister can raise the sun and moon?"

"Very much so." Was the unicorn's response. "Although..." She tapped her hoof against her chin in thought. Rarity looked to Princess Luna and asked, "Princess?" Luna stopped drinking and glanced down at Rarity, "If I may ask, if you two are here, who's raising the sun and moon back home?"

Luna finished off her drink before answering, "Worry not! Princess Cadance has been informed on what to do should my sister and I fail to raise our celestial bodies. She has been prepared on how to raise both the sun and the moon, so there is nothing to worry about." She levitated the wine bottle over and poured some more into her glass, "Probably." She muttered to herself, praying that Cadance had followed through on the instructions left behind for her.

As the two Equestrians looked unsure of themselves, Peach and Arcee looked to one another and shrugged before engaging in another topic of conversation.

Over by the bar, Tony Stark was pouring himself a glass of scotch. Now out of his armor and dressed in a casual suit, he reached under the bar and pulled out a glass of beer out of the minifridge. He straightened himself and tossed a beer to Steve Rogers, who was engaged in a conversation between Optimus Prime, Superman, and Princess Celestia.

As the billionaire walked past them, he overheard Celestia saying, "I'm just not sure if it's the right thing to do. I know that she is ready and I know that she has the capability to do great things, but I don't want to just thrust that onto her without warning. I know she's ready for the next step but is it the right thing to do?"

"I guess in a way we all know what that's like." Superman commented.

"How do you mean?" Steve couldn't help but ask.

"Think about it, I am the last son of Krypton and was blessed with these powers due to Earth's sun. I couldn't just stand idly by while innocent people suffer, not when I had the chance to make a difference." He looked to Cap, "You saw a way to help people and, from what you told me, willingly allowed yourself to be tested on with a super serum so that you could help make a difference."

"The Matrix of Leadership was bestowed upon me." Optimus revealed. "It gave me the chance to fight back against the oppression of the Decepticons."

"And you were made Princess of Equestria because of what you could do." Superman said to Celestia. "My point is, when we have the means to make a difference it is our duty to use said means to make the world a better place. If Twilight is as good as you say she is, then she'll understand take the position with grace and honor."

Meanwhile Sonic, Rainbow Dash, Bumblebee, Go Go, and The Flash were having a heated debate.

"No way! I can go so fast that I can run up walls. No way you're beating that!" Go Go boasted confidently.

Rainbow Dash scoffed before flipping around in the air, "Please! I can go so fast that I can create a Sonic Rainboom! Top that!"

"I've ran faster than the speed of light before!" Sonic bragged as raised his arm and opened his hand, 'dropping the mic' with a smirk on his face. "Boom!"

Flash just sat there with a smirk on his face, ready to humble them all. "I've ran so fast that I travelled back in time."

They all looked at one another, their egos brought way down, before looking at the Scarlet Speedster with defeated looks on their faces. "Yeah, you win." They agreed collectively.

Bumblebee was just happy to be there.

As the speedsters continued their conversation, Sonic's train of thought went back to the visions he saw back in Jasper. Truth be told, they had been bugging him for a while, but due to everything that had happened he shoved the visions to the back of his head. As flashes of images relating to the visions flashed through his head, he excused himself and made his way over past the dancefloor, where the majority of Big Hero 6, Mike and Sulley, Woody, Buzz, the other toys, and many others were dancing to the music.

He had to tell someone about this, and he knew just who to talk to.

Tails was busy laughing with Hiro, Tony, Peter Parker, and Ratchet, as Peter had made a joke that actually got a laugh out of them. Granted with them being massive science nerds, they were the only ones who would've gotten it, but still.

"Hey buddy?" Sonic called out to his little brother, who turned around and smiled. "Can I talk to you for a sec?" Miles nodded and excused himself from the conversation.

The two friends made their way to a private corner and talked.

"What's wrong, Sonic?" Tails asked, concern lacing his voice. "Are you not having a good time?"

Sonic shook his head, "No, it's not that, I'm having a blast. It's just that something is bugging me is all."

"What do you mean?"

He took a deep breath, "When we were getting one of the Foundation Elements, the group and I were whammied by a magic spell of some kind. I think I had a vision of some kind, it reminded me of when Tikal first showed me what had happened back on Angel Island."

"What did you see?"

"Um, six shadowed figures standing on a hill on Foundation Prime. A horse-like amulet. And a giant shadow thing looming over us. I don't know what it means exactly, but my best guess is that something bad is gonna happen. I just don't know when yet."

Tails stroked his chin in thought, pondering what this could all mean. "When we head home I wanna run some tests. If something is coming then we should investigate this and prepare." He placed his hand on Sonic's arm comfortingly. "Whatever is coming, we'll be ready for it."

Sonic smiled and wrapped his arms around his brother, "Thanks buddy."

"Anytime."

As the two returned to the party, at one point both Celestia and Luna had walked out onto the balcony of the tower, wanting to get some fresh air. They looked up at the stars with wonder in their eyes, it was hard to believe that the planet rotated around the sun while the moon rotated around the planet. No magic required to raise the sun or the moon, it was quite the phenomena to say the least.

It was a scary thought, to think that maybe someday Equestria wouldn't need them. But it was an eventuality that they would one day face, after all, they would have to retire one day. But that wouldn't be for a while, right? They continued to stare up at the stars together, that was, until they felt a presence around them.

They were not alone.

Upon turning around they were greeted by the visage of their old mentor, Starswirl the Bearded, or at least, an astral projection of him anyway.

"Celestia. Luna." He greeted with a sweet smile on his face, chuckling a little at their shocked expressions. "Look at how much you both have grown. It's enough to make an old pony proud."

Their jaws practically hit the floor upon seeing their old mentor, they had thought him lost forever, but here he was standing before them. "S-Starswirl?" Luna asked in disbelief, unable to grasp at the reality of the situation.

"How is this possible?" Celestia followed up.

Starswirl chuckled before explaining, "I am not actually Starswirl, well I am, but also am not." Upon seeing their confused expressions he elaborated, "I am an astral projection left behind by Starswirl with the purpose of showing the Guardians the path to stopping Talos. The real Starswirl is trapped along with the other Pillars of Equestria in limbo, fending off the Pony of Shadows."

"So that means..."

"That the real Starswirl will have no memory of these events." The astral Starswirl revealed. "He will not even know if Talos was truly defeated."

Luna couldn't help the smile that graced her face, "W-While we are so happy to see you, why are you here?"

"Can't an old pony enjoy a little celebration?" The three of them shared a laugh before the astral projection continued, "No I am merely here to observe," He turned towards the party, eyeing a little unicorn dancing along with her friends. "She has come such a long, long way. It's hard to believe that just some time ago, she was a recluse shut in with no interest in making friends. Now she has just helped save all existence." He turned around to face Celestia and Luna, "She is more than ready to ascend."

"How did you...?" Celestia trailed off as Starswirl held up a hoof to silence her.

"It is written, it is her destiny." Was all Starswirl said. "But the path set before her is not what you think. Twilight Sparkle will be called to answer a higher purpose, one that extends further than Equestria, further than anything seen before. The path laid out for her by the Tree of Harmony has altered greatly, and things will not end up as you predict."

As the projection began to fade, the two alicorns couldn't help but rush forward, "Wait!" Celestia shouted as she charged forward.

"Remember that she is the key." Those were the final words he spoke before disappearing, turning into tiny sparkles that floated upward into the night sky.

Celestia and Luna were at a loss at what just happened, what did he mean? Why was she the key? The key to what? Harmony perhaps? It didn't make any sense. But they had little time to dwell on it as there was a party going on, it would be a mystery that they would solve another day.

"Perhaps we should rejoin the festivities?" Luna suggested, wanting to return to the party.

Celestia gave her sister a small smile, motioning to the party with her head, "You go on, I'll join you in a bit." At Luna's questioning gaze, she added, "I need some time to think."

With a hesitant nod, Luna left the balcony and returned to the party.

Celestia on the other hoof simply turned around and stared into the city of lights with a solemn expression. An expression which turned knowing as she knew that she wasn't alone. "How long have you been standing there?" She asked aloud, knowing that he would answer.

Batman stepped out of the shadows with a stern expression on his face. "Long enough."

The alicorn turned around and faced the Dark Knight, her royal mask returning to her, her expression unreadable.

Batman didn't like that. "I don't know what you're planning, but if Twilight's hurt in any way, I don't care who you are, or what dimension you're in. I will come for you." He threatened as he marched closer to her before getting in her face.

Instead of being threatened, Celestia simply smiled and bowed her head, her eyes closed. "I am so glad that Twilight has made such a loyal friend. One that will always stand in her corner." She opened her eyes and raised her head, "She's lucky to have you." Was what she said before realizing that Batman was already gone.

She simply chuckled to herself before walking back inside to rejoin the party.

Nearby, Twilight was busy talking to her friends, catching up and telling them about her adventures through the Multiverse. Spike listened closely, having been seated on Twilight's back the entire time, his eyes wide with wonder and awe.

"No way! You, Twilight Sparkle, were in a technological marvel of a city, and you didn't take any notes?" Rainbow laughed in disbelief, hovering above the group, holding her belly as she laughed.

Twilight blushed and looked away in embarrassment, "There were bigger things at stake, although I am a liiiittle peeved about it though."

Applejack chuckled as she slung her leg around Twilight's neck, "Sounds like ya had an interesting adventure, Twi."

"I concur." Rarity said with a smile, "I just wish you had more details about what their fashion style was like."

"Or what animals were in those different worlds." Fluttershy whispered.

Twilight simply giggled, "I'm just glad that it's over and that things can finally get back to normal."

"Normal ain't the word Ah'd use." AJ commented, looking around the party. "It seems like we've just entered somethin' a lot bigger than us."

"Ain't that the truth." Pinkie said.

Twilight looked around and couldn't help but agree, just a few days ago she wasn't even aware of the possibility of multiple universes. It was nothing short of amazing at how much her world has changed in such a short span of time. She was chosen as a protector of the Multiverse, a title she wore with honor. And she thought being Princess Celestia's student was a big deal.

She locked eyes with Batman, who was standing off to the side with Robin, talking to the other members of the Justice League. The two stared at one another for a few moments before Batman gave her a small smile and a nod of approval. Twilight beamed at her friend and waved her leg, her smile never leaving her face.

If there was one thing that she was most grateful for in this adventure, it was the friends she made along the way.

And hey, if this never happened, she wouldn't have met her best friend.

So there's that.

The sound of a piano playing caught not just her attention, but everyone's attention. Everyone stopped dancing and talking for a moment and looked towards the stage in front of the dance floor. The smoke machines turned on and smoke enveloped the stage as everyone moved to the dance floor and stood before the stage, wondering what exactly was happening. Twilight looked over to see Tony with a smug and proud expression on his face.

Didn't he say earlier that he was going to make a call to get some entertainment?

She looked around at a few of the Avengers and some of the Justice Leaguers, some who had knowing expressions on their faces.

Did they know what was happening?

The piano stopped and was replaced by the sound of a guitar playing, and the middle of the stage opened up as someone rose up in the smoke. It was a blonde man wearing a black jacket, with a black shirt underneath and a silver chain on his neck. He wore black cargo pants with Nike Air Max's on his feet.

Eminem raised the mic to his lips and began to speak. "Look, if you had one shot or one opportunity to seize everything you ever wanted in one moment would you capture it or just let it slip?" He then took the stage, the strobe lights shining down on him and him alone as the stage ignited.

As he rapped, Twilight couldn't help but bob her head up and down to the beat, finding it quite hard to resist dancing to the song. And she wasn't alone apparently as most of the Mane 6 began dancing to the song as well. What surprised her was how Princess Luna began dancing on the spot, encouraging Rapunzel to join her.

It wasn't long until nearly everyone began dancing along to the song.

As Eminem moved along the stage, he bounced forward when the beat dropped, rapping the rest of the song, bobbing his hand up and down as everyone danced along.

Knuckles' head went up and down along with the beat as Amy and Tails danced around him, with Princess Peach dancing with Mario not far away from them. As the song continued smoke had covered the dance floor and the lights were flashing all sorts of colors.

Twilight was, in fact, not a very good dancer. She flailed her legs around in an attempt to dance along with the beat, closing her eyes and sticking out her tongue in concentration. When Spike's laughter reached her ears, she pouted before continuing to dance.

She had to say that she quite liked this song. Granted it wasn't what she normally listened to, but maybe she would try listening to this type of music when she got back home. She looked around for a moment before Sonic dashed in front of her and began breakdancing in front of her, an ecstatic smile plastered on his face.

The two friends continued to dance, with Sonic lip-syncing the words of the song. Apparently Mobius had their own version of this song as well.

Optimus watched the scene before him with a smile on his face, watching as Bumblebee and Bulkhead busted some moves along with Flynn Rider and Baymax, who was bouncing up and down, not quite sure how to dance. He looked over to see Spider-Man bumping his arm up and down, with Black Widow bobbing her head to the beat.

It was a safe bet to say that Rapunzel was owning the dance floor.

She bounced over to Flynn and spun him around as Sulley and Mike bounced up and down with Woody and the gang dancing on the former's shoulder. Behind them X-PO was flying around, his eye flashing multiple colors as excitement overtook him.

Superman couldn't help but think of Lois Lane, she loved this song. He remembered whenever they were working in the Daily Planet she would start humming this song. The thought alone brought a smile to his face.

He looked over to the left to see Princess Celestia dancing with her sister, this was, after all, probably her only chance to cut loose and have some fun without any of the nobles watching her every move. And dancing around her was Luigi, Toad, Rarity, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie.

Honey Lemon jumped up and down with Fred and Wasabi, with Go Go and Hiro dancing together behind them. They looked up to see Green Lantern create green fireworks that lit up the room. He gave them a two fingered salute before flying around the dancefloor.

Steve Rogers walked over to Tony Stark and slapped him on the back, "You really don't like to be out staged, do you?"

"Nope."

"And how'd you get this to happen?" He asked, gesturing to the performing Eminem.

Tony shrugged, "I cashed in a favor."

Back on the dancefloor, Twilight was having the time of her life. She was currently vibing with the other Guardians, sans Batman and Tony. She bounced up and down with Mario and Sonic, who had beaming smiles on their faces. They turned back around to face the stage as Eminem waved his arm back and forth.

As everyone focused on the performance, Twilight looked over to see Batman leaning against the wall, watching the scene with a smile on his face. It looked like he was moving his head back and forth, but maybe she was imagining things. She gave her best friend a smile, to which the Dark Knight returned, before turning to see Tony strutting across the dancefloor, scotch in hand, bouncing his shoulders as he joined up with the other Guardians.

Eminem was tearing it up, and the crowd was loving it.

Arcee couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of Donkey Kong slamming his hands on the ground in time with the beat, while Ratchet only shook his head at the gorilla's shenanigans. As the song reached the chorus, everyone gathered in the middle and sang along with Eminem, those not having heard the song before picking up on the lyrics as the song progressed.

The stage lit up as Eminem sang the chorus, looking down as Twilight, Sonic, Mario, and Tony Stark danced in front of the stage, huddled together with their arms wrapped around each others necks, singing along to Lose Yourself with smiles on their faces.

As the song wrapped up, cheers erupted throughout the lounge, clapping echoing in the air, and fireworks going off just outside the tower.

Twilight couldn't help but agree with the Real Slim Shady, now was just as good a time as any to lose yourself in the moment, surrounded by friends and family.

After all, you only got one shot.

Sometime later

At some point after the show Twilight had wandered outside onto the helipad just outside of the main lounge. As the breeze moved her mane she couldn't help but take a deep breath, letting a smile grace her face as the wind touched her face. She looked out into the city, New York, the city that never sleeps.

Thoughts of everything that happened rushed through her mind, they had actually done it. They saved everyone, stopped Exiled and Dr. Eggman from misusing the Foundation of all Dimensions. But there was a question that plagued her mind.

What now?

The mission was done, that was it right? Or was there more? Did the Multiverse still need its guardians?

She really didn't want to lose the friends she had made on this adventure.

"Thought I'd find you out here." She turned around and saw Batman and the other Guardians walking up to her, the party dying down behind them. "Needed some fresh air, I presume?"

"Yeah, I guess you could say that." Twilight answered as she turned around to face the city, the others standing beside her, basking in the silence.

"Gotta say, that Pinkie Pie knows how to throw a party." Mario commented with a smile.

"You said it!" Sonic agreed before glancing at Tony, "Nice job on the entertainment."

"It was nothing." Tony took a sip of his scotch, exhaling after the liquid touched his lips.

"So, what happens now?" Twilight asked, gaining their attention.

"What do you mean?" Sonic asked.

"Well, we won, obviously, but now that we've saved the Multiverse and restored the Foundation of all Dimensions, what now? We fulfilled the prophecy and stopped Talos from destroying everything. That just begs the question, what happens now? Does the Multiverse still need its guardians?"

Everyone was silent as they processed the question. Were they still needed? Was there ever going to be as big of a threat as Exiled? Would the Foundation of all Dimensions still need protecting?

"What if we're ever needed again?" Sonic followed up. "If we go our separate ways, how will we come together to stop whatever threat comes our way?"

An idea sprung into Tony's head, "What if we don't?"

"What?" Mario asked, not sure what he meant.

"What if we stayed in contact? I mean you're right, the Multiverse may not need its guardians right now, but it might in the future." Tony explained. "So what if we made a pact, an oath, if you will, to come together every so often, hold meetings and help out one another whenever we can?"

"That's not a bad idea." Batman agreed. "This way if there was a threat over the horizon, we would be ready for them." When they all looked at him, he continued, "We would need a base of operations, in a location that only we could have access to."

"What about Foundation Prime?" Twilight suggested.

"That could work!" Tony exclaimed with a snap of his fingers. "I could use my resources at Stark Industries to rebuild the pyramid, refurbish it into our own base of operations."

"I could help with that." Batman added.

"How?" Sonic asked.

"I'm rich." Batman said with a smug look on his face, winking down at Twilight, who giggled behind her hoof.

"So we're really doing this?" Mario asked, "We meet up occasionally, keep tabs on each world for any threats that may be out there?"

"It's what we were chosen for." Twilight answered, looking to each of her friends. "I never knew nor predicted that my life would end up like this, that I would be one of the chosen ones tasked with defending all of life itself. But I will gladly accept the responsibility and do my best to protect those who cannot protect themselves."

"It's an awesome responsibility." Tony said.

"Hey! We're awesome guys!" Sonic added, giving Tony a high five.

"Nice." Tony nodded before taking another sip of his drink.

Batman gazed out into the city and said, "No matter the threat, no matter the damage, we will always be there to safeguard the Multiverse, to defend it wholeheartedly without hesitation, without question. It's our duty, our promise."

"Amen to that!" Tony raised his glass.

"Y'know, something tells me that this is only the start of whatever path destiny has laid out for us." Sonic said as he rested his left hand on his hip. "And I'm all for it! Bring on whatever challenges you can throw at us, we'll push through and break our limits! No matter what!"

Twilight smiled as she stood alongside her friends, staring up into the night sky with an excited glint in her eyes. "Guys, this is the start of something big." And she couldn't wait to explore the endless possibilities that awaited them throughout their journey. But one thing was for certain, their friendship would last forever, and whatever threat was coming their way, they would prosper.

After all, anything was possible with the Multiverse.
