My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Team Ash vs Volo
Previous ChapterNext ChapterKalos. Lukewarm Valley. Nightfall.
The cause behind those Time Leaks had been revealed. Volo action's brought in new ones, spawning an array of Alpha Pokemon straight from Hisui, 200 years in the past, bringing these aggravated Pokemon to the present. Like raindrops, they began dropping, but thankfully, more time leaks were prevented from opening, but that didn't mean it brought a whole lot of trouble.
"!" Fluttershy, who had just managed to calm down all the rampaging Pokemon from before, was now faced with the Alpha Pokemon that had descended. That being an Alpha Ursaring which would drop down at full force, shaking the ground a bit.
Ursaring towered over all the other Pokemon here thanks to being an Alpha Pokemon. Even towering over Tropius as its crimson eyes would glow aggressively. "Ursaring!"
"An Alpha Pokemon?!" Fluttershy gasped, her eyes widening with fear as she gazed upon the ferocious beast. All the smaller Pokemon living here would cower in fear, either holding onto Fluttershy's legs or running away.
"There's no need to worry!" Fluttershy would tell the smaller Pokemon, stepping forward a bit. "I know you're scared, but everything's gonna be okay! So, please, calm down!"
Ursaring would not listen, stomping the ground and letting out a mighty roar. "Ursaaaa!" Afterwards, it would slam its hands on the ground, using Earthquake.
"Look out!" Fluttershy would shout, quickly scooping up some of the frightened Pokemon and taking cover.
The earthquake would cause the ground to crack and split apart, sending tremors through the valley. The force of the attack was so strong that it even caused the nearby trees to topple over, crashing to the ground with a thunderous crash.
As the quaking subsided, Fluttershy emerged from her hiding place, her body trembling with fear and adrenaline. She could barely believe what had just happened. The homes of the Pokemon were thrashed thanks to this attack
"O-Oh no..." Her face paled as she took in the sight of devastation, her heart breaking at the sight. She would then turn her head once she saw Ursaring running straight for her, going on the offensive.
"Bla! Blaziken would leap forward, attepmting to stop Ursaring in its tracks with a Blaze Kick. However, that proved to fail quickly as the Alpha Ursaring easily caught the attack with its claw, its grip tightening as it glared at Blaziken. "B-Blazi! It gasped before being tossed to the side with ease.
"Ursa!"
"Blaa..." Blaziken crashed into a large tree, the force of the impact causing it to splinter and break. The Pokemon that were in the tree were lucky to have gotten out of there in time, or else they would have been crushed.
After knocking Blaziken aside, Ursaring would go for another Earthquake, only for Tropius to tackle it back before that could occur. "Tro!" Ursaring looked like it barely moved from that attack, having greater defence thanks to being an Alpha Pokemon. After it withstood Tropius's surprise attack, the Normal-Type would use Fury Swipes, slashing at Tropius's face.
"Pius!" Tropis cried out as it was then struck by a barrage of Fury Swipes from Ursaring, the attacks hitting with immense force. The poor Grass-Flying-type was helpless to defend itself as the brutal assault continued, the blows raining down on it with merciless precision.
"No, Tropius!" Fluttershy wailed as Tropius was then knocked to the side, by one final Fury Swipe. After knocking Tropius aside, Ursaring would use Earthquake once more, slamming all four of its hands into the ground to summon golden shockwaves.
"Dino!" Quickly, Mega Audino would use Protect, forming a massive green barrier that protected them all., the it of the Earthquake rippling across it. Audino would then lower the barrier before narrowing her eyes at Ursaring, knowing he wasn't going to stop for a moment. He was purely aggressive right now since he had been dragged from his own time and home to this new era. The same goes for every other Alpha Pokemon and that was Volo's full intention.
The aftermath of that Earthquake only ruined the area some more as some of the rubble came into contact with the Pokemon, harming them. Fluttershy's eyes widened upon seeing them unfairly hit by this attack. To see them harmed was unacceptable, even if Ursaring was just confused. Fluttershy closed her eyes before turning her head to face the Hibernator Pokemon, visibly upset by this outcome.
"I don't know what's going on...but I have to help these Pokemon some more as soon as possible. And I'm sorry, but you're slowing us down, Ursaring." Fluttershy would say with a soft voice while also being 100% serious. She was more than ready to stop Ursaring in his tracks, holding out another Pokemon as she would throw it out. "Go, Raboot!"
"Raboot!" Emerging from that Poke Ball was Raboot.
"Flame Charge!"
"Raboot!" Immediately upon arriving, The Rabbit Pokemon would charge forward, his entire body engulfed in flames. His speed had increased dramatically, allowing him to move faster than the eye could see.
"Ursa?" Ursaring raised an eyebrow, seeing how fast this Pokemon was and couldn't keep track of him.
"Now, Raboot, use High Jump Kick!" Fluttershy commanded, a fire burning in her eyes. It was that of calm anger due to her love of Pokemon But she would have to stop another Pokemon and bring it back to its senses just to keep that love going.
"Boot!" Raboot leapt into the air, his powerful kicks connecting with the Ursaring's stomach. The powerful blow sent the bear flying, its body crashing into a nearby boulder with a loud thud.
"Ursaring...!" Ursaring growled, getting up from the rubble and glaring at the small group. Enraged, it would use Earthquake once again, opting to finish Raboot in one go. With its foot hitting the ground, those golden shockwaves appeared once more.
"High Jump Kick!"
"Ra!" Raboot would avoid these shockwaves by leaping into the air, flipping a few times while airborne. He would then deliver a swift dropkick to the side of the Ursaring's head, stunning it.
"Sa!"
"Now's your chance, Raboot! Use Flame Charge, and don't stop until it's done for!"
"Boot!" The Rabbit Pokemon would spin around, his body igniting in a blaze of flames. He would then start repeatedly bashing his flaming body against Ursaring's, the repeated impacts causing it to stagger back. And thanks to the effect of Flame Charge, Raboot was getting faster with each usage.
"Ring!" Ursaring would try and strike at him with Hammer Arm, only for the Rabbit Pokemon to swiftly zip to the side, becoming a blur. "Ursa?!" Ursaring blinked as it looked like Raboot had disappeared, when in reality, he was just moving so fast he could no longer keep up. On the side of his face, Raboot had crashed into him with a fiery impact, knocking him away.
A great blazing outburst occurred from that final hit, engulfing Ursaring while sending him flying. He would come to a stop against a wall of rocks, laying there, absolutely slumped. Raboot would stick a powerful landing before looking at the downed Ursaring.
"Ursaring...!" It would cry out before falling to the ground, defeated. "Ursaring..."
"We did it..." Fluttershy mumbled, her shoulders slumping as she let out a sigh of relief. "I'm glad that's over..." But she couldn't take a break just yet. Not when there were Pokemon in need of help. She turned her head to see all the Pokemon who have had their homes ravaged and have taken damage.
She would walk over to the injured Pokemon who were laying there, making sure they would get immediate healing. Fluttershy knew that with all these Alpha Pokemon descending, this area and anywhere else nearby wouldn't know peace, which is why she was counting on her friends to stop Volo as soon as possible.
Mega Audino would use Heal Pulse, sending a massive wave that would eclipse a majority of this area, just to heal those who have been injured in a single go.
Volo stood there with Divine Energy pulsating out of him, staring at Ash and his friends while revelling in this newfound power. This is exactly what he's been pursuing all this time and it was coursing through his veins. "You've had your fun. Now, step aside. You're in the way of my goal."
"Yeah, right! We're not gonna stand aside and let you cause a disaster!" Ash bellowed, not about to give up from Volo's order.
"Very well, if you won't listen to reason, I'll have to use force to knock some sense into you. Allow me to demonstrate the power of a deity. You'll be the first ones to truly experience it."
"Deity or not, no way we're gonna back down." Ash would hold out his Poke Ball, letting his determination shine. "Gengar, I choose you!" Throwing his Poke Ball into the air and summoning the Shadow Pokemon, Gengar.
"Gengar!"
"Hm." Volo smirked before holding out his own Poke Ball, unleashing his Spiritomb.
"Spiritomb!"
"Now...let my Spiritomb be blessed with this awesome power. Show them just what they're up against." Right after bringing Spiritomb out, Volo would start pouring Ghost Energy into his Spiritomb, causing it to glow a deep purple colour.
Ash and his friends watched in disbelief as the Ghost-Dark-Type was enveloped in a swirl of dark energy, its form shifting and changing. As the swirling aura dissipated, the creature's appearance had been drastically altered.
From the keystone that contained its spectral body, shadowy claws would start emerging from the side, giving Spiritomb hands. On top of that, its spiritual body would expand a bit, its face contorting for a moment to reveal a vortex-like force in the middle while its eyes and mouth would start floating above and in front of it.
"W-What the?!" Twilight would gasp, her eyes widening with shock.
"Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle..." Applejack was in the same boat, having been left speechless by this transformation.
"So that's what happens when you pour a lot of Infinity Energy into a Pokemon. It changes forms." Sunset would say, her eyes glued to the sight. "That's insane."
"You can consider this the natural evolution of Spiritomb. Natural in the way that such divine power dictates it to be. Because of the Spooky Plate, Spiritomb is greater than ever. Great enough to stop all of you in your tracks. Watch as I finish up here and continue my mission. I'm thus close to victory, because right after this, I'm going straight for Lena."
Volo announced his next task which was targeting Lena. She had the other shards with her and his goal could not be completed as long as she is still harbouring them. Ash grit his teeth at that reveal, refusing to let Volo do so. Not to his ancestor.
"Observe. Spiritomb! Use Dark Pulse!"
"Spirit....!" Spiritomb's evolved body would start brimming, almost as if it was charging as a storm of darkness would crackle out of its body. That storm kept building up, ready to unleash something fierce."
"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!" Ash would point forward. "Gengar, Shadow Ball!"
"Thunder!" Sci-Twi would do the same with her Alpha Pikachu.
"Braviary, use Brave Bird!"
"Ampharos, Dragon Pulse!" Ash and the others took action, having their Pokemon strike while Spiritomb was charging up. Both Pikachus would unleash powerful bolts of lightning from their body at once while Braviary would take flight, engulfing his body in a brilliant orange energy, soaring towards Spiritomb. As for Ampharos, out of his mouth, a dragon-shaped beam would appear while Gengar followed up with Shadow Ball.
But as their attacks closed in, the vortex inside of Spiritomb would suddenly pull them further in on purpose, acting like a Black Hole. But instead of absorbing the attacks, it would reflect them, covering them in a Dark power.
This ended up being Dark Pulse as it had overtaken their moves, sending it back to the original users. The only move it didn't catch was Braviary who was still flying towards Spiritomb. "Brav!" Braviary managed to evade the reflected attack while everyone else had to move out of the way.
The Dark Pulse would then fly off into the distance, combusting right afterwards in a pitch-black outburst. As for Braviary, he succesfully landed an attack on Spiritomb, crashing into it and receiving ecoil in the process. Spiritomb would fly back a bit before recovering right away.
"Shadow Ball, at once! Rain down divine power!" Volo clenched his hand.
"Tomb!" Spiritomb would then ascend into the air, its newly obtained claws vibrating aggressively. In its claws, it managed to summon two blobs of shadows but around its entire body, more of them would appear. Once high enough, it would drop the Shadow Balls from above like droplets of rain.
"Pikachu! Countershield!"
"Pikaaaaa!" To stop this rain of Shadow Balls, Pikachu would get on his back, spinning around as fast as he could while using Thunderbolt to create a wild frenzy of electricity. All that lightning would act as a shield, rapidly moving around to deflect the incoming Shadow Balls.
However, while he managed to stop some of them, Spiitomb's new power allowed it to manipulate the Shadow Balls to phase right through the Counter Shield, landing on Pikachu. "Pikachu1" Ash cried out as Pikachu took a hit, his Countershield coming to an end right away. That immediately allowed the other Shadow Balls to land, but instead of hitting everyone else, they simply plastered into the ground.
"What!?" Rarity looked around her, seeing how the ground was littered with Shadow Balls. But they weren't just there to linger. The Shadow Balls all around them would suddenly explode, acting as landmines without even needing to be stepped on.
Everyone yelled as the shadowy explosions would surround them all, rapidly expanding and trying to blast them away. Twilight would quickly put up a shield of magic around her friends before it could worsen, the shield having to take all of these outbursts.
Volo simply stood there, watching the explosions go off around the shield before coming to a halt. Her narrowed his eyes while keeping a smile on his face, expecting nothing less from this team. Twilight managed to stop all of them, but as soon as she lowered the shield, she and her friends gasped once they saw that sight before them.
Spiritomb had summoned something massive behind it, having enough time to do so since they were occupied with the Shadow Balls. Behind the Ghost-Dark-Type was a crackling ball of Darkness that looked absolutely terrifying. It was a mass array of all the souls within Spiritomb's body, exiting to form this gigantic soul ball that manifested into a green wisp that would howl.
"Behold. I have 108 Souls on my side who will bring me to victory." All 108 Souls inside were crying out in a haunting voice as Volo would give the order to drop them all.
"He's going to drop all those souls on us! Is he insane!" Sunset couldn't believe her eyes. "That might destroy them all!"
"Believe me, they'll be fine. I'll will it." Volo's eyes widened. "Drop it."
"Spirit!" Spiritomb dropped the massive Soul Ball, the 108 souls flying downwards at full speed.
Ash was tempted to strike back at it, but he didn't want to risk harming the souls within. Twilight would once again try and put up a shield, but even he knew that it was starting to take a toll on her magic. Yet another shield would be formed as the Soul Ball would drop, covering all of them in one go.
The Soul would wash over the land like a wildfire, engulfing everything in its path. The trees, rocks, grass, water, everything would be covered in a dark aura. The vengeful souls within would exact their rage upon the land, aggressively beating down on Twilight's shield.
Poor Twilight was giving it her all to prevent the Soul from breaking through, her hands trembling from the pressure. However, the cracks were beginning to show, and it was only a matter of time before the shield gave out.
Espeon would try helping her trainer out, using Psychic to strengthen the barrier to the best of her abilities. For a moment, it managed to work, but the souls eventually succeded in breaking through. Twilight would fall over, rolling across the ground after her shield had been shattered, grunting and crying out.
"Twilight!" They all yelled her name, about to run to her aid.
"Not so fast." Volo would hold his hand out, preventing them from getting any closer to her. "I'm not done yet.." With a snap of his finger, he would summon spectral chains from below, wrapping them around Twilight while she was in this vulnerable state. The Princes of Friendship groaned, having her body held down by these chains that emerged from the ground.
Her friends were then pushed back by the force of the chains emerging from the ground, having their bodies be dragged back. "Twilight!" Ash and his friends reached their hands out, wanting to save her, but it was too late.
"Spiritomb, use Phantom Force!" Volo ordered.
"Spirit!" Spiritomb would disappear, the dark aura it was radiating the only thing left.
"Gengar! Dazzling Gleam!" Ash would act fast.
"Gen...Gar!" Gengar's body would light up with a dazzling light as he would try and anticipate Spiritomb's appearance. He was right on the mark as Spirtomb appeared right above them all, trying to land a sneak attack, only for Gengar to unleash a blinding light.
"Gengar!"
"T-Tomb!" The sudden flash of light would force Spiritomb to cover its eyes, the brightness being too much for it. After a brief moment, the light would fade, and Spiritomb would be left floating in mid-air, looking disoriented and confused.
"Now's your chance, Gengar! Use Dazzling Gleam again!"
"Gengaaaaaar!" Gengar would then turn all that light into rays that would rapidly fly at Spiritomb while it was this vulnerable, bombarding it with intense rays of light.
"Tomb!" Spiritomb would yell out as it was continuously assaulted by the bright flashes, the power overwhelming it. It would fly back, its body becoming dazed.
"Tch! Ash Ketchum...!" Volo would growl at Ash's retaliation, seeing how easily he was managing to fight back. This was supposed to be an easy win, but the boy was fighting back with all his strength, not letting up.
"You're not gonna harm Twilight and get away with!" Ash declared, the sight of seeing Twilight harmed enough to drive him to put even more of his strength in this battle. "Pikachu! Iron Tail!"
"Braviary, use Aerial Ace!"
"Ampharos! Use Fire Punch"
"Pika...!" Pikachu's tail would harden, glowing a brilliant white colour. He would leap into the air, aiming for Spiritomb.
"Braviary!" Braviary would soar towards the Spiritomb, his wings cloaked in a bluish-white aura.
"Ampharos!" Ampharos would raise his limb, flames licking around it as he would charge up a Fire Punch.
"Spiritomb! Dark Pulse at once!"
"Spirit! Spiritomb!" At that moment, before all the attacks could land, Spiritomb would unleash a radius of darkness from its body, forcing everyone back. That included the Pokemon, causing their attacks to fail.
All of their bodies would stagger thanks to this Dark Pulse, causing their bodies to twitch uncontrollably. This was a new feeling, their bodies unable to keep up with the powerful pulse.
"Ngh...!" Rainbow Dash would groan along with Rarity, Ash, Sci-Twi and Sunset. Noticeably, Pinkie Pie managed to resist it, all thanks to that Fairy Magic she had in her.
"Yikes! This is getting out of control! But don't worry, I've got this!" Pinkie would grin before digging into Sunset Shimmer's pockets, whipping out one of her Poke Balls while also holding out her own. "Out you come!" Emerging from them were Pyroar and Blissey.
"Pyroar!"
"Blissey!"
"I'm wasting precious time here..." Volo would narrow his eyes once more, having not yet defeated Ash and his friends. He wished to head for the next shards as soon as possible but he was being held back constantly by this group.
"Grh...!" Ash used his Aura to immediately break free of this Dark Stun, being able to move once more. He let his Aura flow out a bit more, reaching his friends and allowing them to move as well with the Aura shattering the Darkness.
"Thanks, Ash." Rainbow Dash would smirk before using her speed to bounce back as well.
"Yeah, thanks, Ash." Sunset would get up and brush herself off.
"You can fight back as much as you want, it won't change the fact that I've brought upon a storm of Pokemon from the past. Alpha Pokemon to be exact. If I were you, I'd focus on stopping them all from causing widespread chaos." Volo pointed at them all, pointing out the other threat here. "But I have a feeling you're far too dedicated to stopping me."
"Yeah, because we can count on the Pokemon Rangers to stop them." Ash would grin, knowing the Pokemon Rangers could handle it. Alpha Pokemon or not, they were still experienced with Pokemon. "And as long as we're still here, you're not winning this."
"Why you...!"
"Altogether everyone!" Ash opted for a full-force team attack from all their Pokemon, aiming to take Spiritomb out in one final attack. Everyone would do just that as all of their Pokemon would unleash their moves at the same time. Pikachu unleashed a Thunderbolt, Gengar lobbed two Shadow Balls, Alpha Pikachu released Thunder, Espeon threw out rainbow rays by using Dazzling Gleam, Ampharos breathed out a Dragon Pulse, Pyroar would also breathe out a Flamethrower, Blissey's mouth threw out an Ice Beam while Braviary flew forward with a Brave Bird.
All these attacks rushed together with Braviary leading the charge. Spiritomb would try and use its vortex to try and stop these attacks, aiming to reflect every last one of them. But even Volo could see that it might end up in absolute failure.
Spiritomb failed to pull them in as their combined force overpowered its pull, crashing into the Ghost-Dark-Type with a fearsome impact.
"Spiritomb!" Spiritomb cried out, its body flickering a bit as it was slowly losing its form. Spiritomb would then fall to the ground as all that Divine Energy left its body, returning to the SPooky Plate. Spiritomb had fainted. "Spiritomb..."
"Success!" Ash and the others cheered at their victory. It was a resounding one against quite a formidable foe that could handle multiple of them, but they emerged victorious nonetheless, overcoming this Divine Influence.
"Unbelievable... Looks like I have no choice but to retreat for now." Volo would shake his head, summoning back the Spiritomb, not wanting to continue from here. "It seems I can't slow you all down in the way I want to you. But I'm not through with you all yet. Not until I've obtained the rest of the shards and that includes the ones your ancestor has. We will meet again soon, I promise."
Volo made his retreat, using the power of the Spooky Plate to turn into a Spectral Mist, his body disappearing into thin air.
"Wait a minute!" Ash yelled before that mist would disappear.
"Until the next time we meet, Ketchum. And you will be seeing me at the top. I promise that." Volo's voice would echo throughout the area, sending a chill down their spines.
"Ugh, that guy's a pain in the neck." Rainbow Dash shook her head, hating how persistent he was.
"I couldn't agree more, darling." Rarity would nod her head.
"At least we managed to hold him off for a while..." Twilight grumbled while getting back up, holding her head. "That should've given Lena enough time to find another shard potentially. Even then...the fact that he could do all of that with that plate is alarming. And that was just one of them. If he does get all 18, then he might as well become unstoppable."
"You think he'll be unstoppable? Seriously?" Sunset replied.
"I don't want that to be possible, but that reality can't happen, no matter what. There's very few shards left to find so it could be happening soon, unless we find a way to stop it." The Princess of Friendship continued.
"Yeah, I hear ya, Twilight." Ash would nod before facing all the Time Leaks in the air. "Right now, we have this to sort out. All those Alpha Pokemon running around..."
"Even with all the Pokemon Rangers around, it could take us all night to try and calm them down." said Rarity.
"We're still gonna do it anyways." Ash would smile. They had some work to do before they could continue their pursuit of Volo. And thanks to this battle, Pinkie Pie knew for a fact that her Slurpuff would be able to track down Volo's scent afterwards, focusing on the spot he stood at and using that as a baseline. That way, they could find him later on, even though they knew who his next target was.
The group would move out to try and stop all these Alpha Pokemon running wild, doing their best to help the Alpha Pokemon in their endeavour.
They would experience a taste of what Volo could really do if he really harnessed the power of the Life Plates. It was just as fearsome as when the shards are used, no doubt greater since they are the complete states.
And right now, Volo was heading to Lena with that same kind of force, attempting to overwhelm her. It was about time he finally went for the one who put him in this situation to begin with as the journey continues.
