My Little Pokémon: Grander World
One with Necrozma
Previous ChapterNext ChapterJohto. Afternoon.
Due to Necrozma's powerful light, nature itself was changing. Plants were growing uncontrollably, choking out native species and threatening entire ecosystems nearby. Necrozma was not discriminating between healthy or invasive plants, but rather simply changing the landscape, causing widespread ecological disaster.
The nearest civilization in Johto from here was Mahogany Town and its residents were quick to witness what Necrozma's light could do even when he was not at his full strength. As they were all minding their business, living their lives, the light managed to reach here, rapidly depleting the town's nutrients and vitality.
Plants began growing at an alarming rate, wrapping around houses and buildings, blocking streets and choking the inhabitants. People and Pokemon alike found themselves being constricted and crushed, as their cries went unheard.
It was like a nightmare, one that was slowly spreading. Mahogany was not the only place that was being affected. In Blackthorn City, a similar fate had befallen the residents, and in Ecruteak City, the ancient and pristine trees were being replaced by Necrozma's light plants.
The light was affecting the wildlife, as well, causing Pokemon gain aggressive tendencies all of a sudden. They began attacking people and destroying property, leaving chaos in their wake. As the light spread, it engulfed more and more cities and towns, wreaking havoc on the local environments and disrupting the natural balance.
"Marril, what's wrong?!" A Trainer called out to his Pokemon, as the water-type began lashing out at him, its eyes glowing purple.
"Wurmple, why are you doing this?!" A young girl cried, as her Wurmple attacked her, trying to land a Poison Sting.
The light was spreading like a plague, and there seemed to be no way to stop it. Pokemon and people alike were left in despair as their lives and homes were destroyed by Necrozma's light. As the light spread across the region, it would affect even the ocean, causing Pokemon and aquatic life to become corrupted and hostile.
Entire storms were being whipped up because of this light, as Necrozma light was slowly taking over everything. This included the air, the weather, and the skies. The wind and rain became tainted by Necrozma's light, changing the temperature and precipitation of the area.
With the sky becoming Necrozma's, the light began to reach out to even more regions. Goldenrod City, Olivine City, Azalea Town, Blackthorn City, Ecruteak City, Violet City, and Cherrygrove City were all under attack by Necrozma's light which aimed to bring its own creation.
The light would spread all over the place, affecting everything. Buildings, streets, nature, and the water. Pokemon and people were all caught up in the destruction, and there seemed to be no way to stop it. Many fled for their lives, but there was nowhere to hide from the light.
In just a matter of minutes, the entire Johto region was consumed by Necrozma's light and this was only just the beginning. As they began tyring to distance themselves from it, some of them found themselves being restrained. Much like how the Suntree would trap others in branches, Necrozma's light did something similar, but far more silencing. Cocoons of Light formed, trapping those inside of them.
This happened in various areas, as people and Pokemon were all being trapped. There was nothing they could do to stop it, as their cries for help went unheard. Their voices were silenced as the cocoons wrapped around their bodies, and they could only watch as the light continued its path of creation.
All the while, Daybreaker smiled, knowing Necrozma was enjoying himself more than ever. She then looked over at Jackie, who watched how the area beneath him changed, his fellow rangers falling down or getting on their knees due to a lack of energy.
"Watch as all of Johto eventually becomes Necrozma's personal sandbox. As for you Pokemon Rangers...I can't pass up an opportunity to have you all work for me. You're far too good. And don't worry, I have the perfect place to send all of you."
"Sorry..." Jackie would say weakly, his frown slowly forming into a grin as he had something up his sleeve. "You'll have to do a lot more than this to stop me"
"Is that so?"
"Yeah."
Daybreaker didn't have a response to that. Her eyes widened a bit as she witnessed Jackie getting back up. She was surprised at his willpower, and how he was able to fight off the effects of Mass Absorption, at least just enough to get back on his feet. As she was ready to push him down, Jackie, from his hair, would grab onto something as quickly as he could. It was none other than a Shift Stone as he instantly used it to transform his body.
Daybreaker raised her eyebrow, wondering what Jackie had in mind, but she wouldn't have to wait long to find out. He was suddenly enveloped in a blinding flash, his form changing. He promptly envisioned himself as a kind of element, using this opportunity to distance himself from Daybreaker.
The Solar Queen's horn lit up, attempting to catch Jackie with a spell. She fired a beam, which hit, but was not strong enough. A large explosion occurred, sending a burst of flames and dust everywhere. Jackie would take the chance to use that opportunity to move as fast as he could. He would then leap and climb the side of a nearby mountain, hoping to escape.
Daybreaker would see a silhouette moving away from the explosion, a bit of dust blocking her vision. Jackie was fast, she'd give him that, and she could tell by his movements that he was not an average Ranger.
Jackie reached the peak of the mountain, standing at the very top, a gust of wind blowing past him. He cleverly used the Shift Stone's power to change forms once more. With his new body, he would fly through the sky, hoping to gain some distance between him and Daybreaker.
Daybreaker noticed this and quickly used her magic to teleport next to Jackie.
"Going somewhere?" Daybreaker asked, flying next to Jackie. "I don't think you're going anywhere."
"Heh..." Jackie would laugh. "We'll see about that."
"No. I think I'm quite sure of myself. So, are you just going to make things difficult or are you actually going to try? Unless...you're doing this for another reason." Daybreaker narrowed her eyes, trying to think of something. "Perhaps you're stalling for something?"
Daybreaker was catching on quick, and Jackie knew she wouldn't buy his excuse, but he had to make her. So, with a smirk, he'd nod his head. He was indeed stalling for something. Something big.
"Hm...very well."
"I figured. So, you're either gonna catch me or keep trying to make an example of me."
"Indeed. And since you're being so stubborn, I'll show you why you should cooperate with me." Daybreaker would suddenly point her horn in the opposite direction, towards where Necrozma was, his eyes set on the Pokemon Rangers below. "Necrozma. Pull them in."
"What..?" Jackie would look at Daybreaker, wondering what she meant. He wouldn't have to wait long, though, as a massive burst of light suddenly erupted from the Prism Pokemon's body. Jackie's eyes widened, the light shining in them, almost blinding him. He would have to squint, but he could see something.
And what he saw was something incredible. Necrozma's light was pulling everyone towards him, even the Pokemon. The Pokemon were helplessly pulled, with Jackie's eyes widening in shock as his fellow rangers, and the Pokemon were helplessly dragged across the ground.
"Everyone!"
"I'm making an example, Jackie." Daybreaker spoke, smiling. "I can have Necrozma easily pull all of your fellow rangers in, just like how he pulled Lunala in. Thus, they'll all become one with Necrozma."
All those Pokemon and all the Rangers found themselves entering Dawn Wings Necrozma's body. One by one, all of them became one with the Prism Pokemon, their bodies disappearing into the void. Necrozma cried out after absorbing them all, immediately turning his attention to Jackie.
Right away, Jackie started flying off, attempting to avoid Necrozma. However, the Prism Pokemon was incredibly quick and had already begun closing in on the Ranger. He would then lunge forward, reaching out with one of his arms. Jackie, without thinking twice, quickly dodged. "Oh!"
As Jackie avoided the attack, a blast of energy flew past him, almost hitting him. The sheer power of the attack created a loud booming noise, shaking the sky. Jackie would quickly regain his composure, focusing his attention on the Prism Pokemon.
"I gotta say, you're not bad. I'm impressed."
Jackie would respond with a nod, giving a smile of his own. He was glad that his actions were being recognized. "Thank you." He quickly grimaced once she saw Necrozma's claw getting ever closer. And by the skin of his teeth, he used his elemental body to move through a crevice that led elsewhere, avoiding Necrozma.
The Prism Pokemon roared, ready to continue, but Daybreaker halted him. "He's not worth our time, Necrozma. Let's leave him be. I suspect fairly soon we'll be seeing a gateway back to our universe. If not, we can continue our work here for the time being."
The two of them were ready to leave. The Solar Sword could be seen descending here, ready to keep on moving. As the Solar Empress prepared to leave, her massive ship still having a lot to offer after all of that damage, a noise was heard. Daybreaker stopped for a moment, her hooves feeling a sudden tremor.
The Prism Pokemon looked down and his eyes narrowed.
The two of them felt a change in the atmosphere all of a sudden. But it was not a result of Necrozma's light. It was something else. It was a force that was not from this Universe, nor did it come from another one. This force was entirely alien to both of them, yet they could feel it.
"That feeling..." Daybreaker muttered. "Is it?"
The ground started to rumble, and the winds began picking up. A sudden storm brewed as a wave of powerful energy surged throughout the area. Daybreaker could feel it in the air. The familiar sensation. Her eyes glanced around the area, searching for the source.
It was then that a bright flash appeared before them, followed by a loud crash. Necrozma would let out a loud roar, the sound of it echoing across the entire area and beyond. The lake in the distance was rippling and waves were crashing against the shoreline.
The clouds were parting, and a ray of light shone down from the sky. The ground beneath them was rumbling, and the wind was howling.
Daybreaker and Necrozma both saw a figure appear from the flash. It was a massive red figure. They looked down at them and roared loudly, their voice carrying throughout the region. Daybreaker's eyes narrowed.
"Ah. So Jackie was spot on about the next Legendaries nearing here."
Groudon would erupt from the ground in the distance, splitting the Earth itself as his mighty cry rang through the land. The ancient titan's eyes blazed with fury, as if sensing the destruction that Necrozma's light has caused. His roar echoed across the land, causing the very Earth to shake and quake.
Kyogre appeared as well, erupting from the surface of the ocean in the distance. A torrential wave of water rushed forward, engulfing everything in its path. The ocean itself seemed to come alive, roaring with rage.
Kyogre unleashed a mighty bellow, its voice carrying across the entire region. It was as if the very oceans were calling out for revenge, crying out in anger. Its eyes were glowing red, filled with fury. The two giants were ready to do whatever it took to stop Necrozma and his rampage.
Alola. Poni Island. Vast Poni Canyon. Late Afternoon.
Back at Alola and over at Vast Poni Canyon, Xurkitree's Z-Move had completely thrashed a chunk of this area. Electricity ran across the entire ground, surging with an insane amount of volts. Spitfire looked down at the damage done, seeing if Rainbow Dash had fallen to the ground.
However, as the smoke, dust and electricity cleared, it was revealed that not only did Rainbow Dash make it out in one piece, but someone had shielded her and Mienshao from the attack. None other than Zeraora, who had absorbed the Gigavolt Havoc, which would've doomed them if she hadn't.
Zeraora would look down at Rainbow Dash and Mienshao, making sure they were okay. Mienshao would smile, but her eyes would close right afterwards. She was out of energy to continue fighting.
"Zera...!" Zeraora turned her head, facing Xurkitree and soon the ship Spitfire was in. And to say she was furious was an understatement. Her and Spitfire had bad blood after all and seeing her again, especially when her friends were being threatened, was enough for her to lose it.
"Hmph. Look who it is. Still mad about your entire Universe losing its light? Too bad. It happened and there's no reversing it. So kindly let it go and accept what's coming next. This Universe is up for complete absorption soon, so I'd suggest you start finding another Universe to hide in."
Zeraora snarled at Spitfire, her fangs bared. The beast was ready for battle, and the air around her was crackling with electricity. Her claws were glowing with a white light, and her tail was sparking with energy.
"Return, Mienshao." Rainbow Dash promptly brought Mienshao back to her Poke Ball, letting her rest up. Now, it was just her and Zeraora against Spitfire. "Alright, girl. I know you're super mad at them. If there was ever a time to let out all your anger, now's a really good time. Spitfire...her and the Solar Empire are gonna take our world from us. I don't want that to ever happen...and neither do you. Not again. So together, let's take 'em down. Got it?!"
"Zeraora!"
"That's what I love to hear!"
"Try your best." Spitfire snickered. "That Z-Move isn't all that I have to offer, I promise you. Xurkitree! Attack! Power Whip!"
Xurkitree would be the first to attack, using its arm to whip the ground, the earth cracking as the attack came flying towards the duo. "Zeraora! Plasma Fists!"
"Ze! Ra!" Zeraora would use her claws, covered in a veil of plasma, to block the incoming attack. She was able to stand her ground, but the sheer force of the attack was pushing her back. Xurkitree continued swinging, its vines whipping and smacking the ground with incredible force.
The electricity from Zeraora's Plasma Fists would course through the ground, causing a massive electrical explosion. Rainbow Dash, Zeraora, and the others would have to brace themselves as a giant blast of wind blew past them, blowing away the dust and debris.
"Now, use Double Team!"
"Ze! Ze!" Zeraora would split herself up, creating clones of herself. The clones were all surrounded by electricity, and their tails were crackling with energy.
Xurkitree looked around, spotting Zeraoras everywhere, all ready to pounce. "Hmph! Xurkitree! Use Dazzling Gleam!" To try and hit all of them, Xurkitree unleashed rainbow rays from its body in multiple directions. The light engulfed the entire area, destroying everything in its path.
But this proved to be a mistake, as Zeraora would use the light and use her speed to travel within it. She would move through the rainbow-coloured light, her body surrounded by electricity.
"Dual Chop!"
"Ora!" Zeraora's paws were surrounded in a draconic energy, which allowed her to attack Xurkitree. With great strength, she slashed its body, causing the Glowing Pokemon to cry out.
However, right as she landed the attack, a beam from Spitfire's ship would knock her back. Naturally, Spitfire wasn't going to play fair whatsoever. "Don't forget about me~" She chuckled before unloading a barrage of light beams down at Zeraora. Quickly, the Thunderclap Pokemon would roll on the ground, zooming to avoid the incoming beams. "Dazzling Gleam!"
Now she had to deal with the rays of Dazzling Gleam following her as well. Zeraora moved faster, zipping around and trying to avoid getting hit. Rays of light kept hitting the grounds of Vast Poni Canyon trying to strike Zeraora, the explosions being seen from great distances. However, Zeraora could always ensure that she was faster, and her speed was her best asset, allowing her to avoid the beams with ease.
"Move in with Close Combat!"
"Zeraora!" Zeraora then drifted on the ground, using her claws to slash at Xurkitree. With every swing, her claws would constantly pressure the body of the Glowing Pokemon. But before Zeraora could unleash her full strength, a barrage of beams would come flying towards her.
She was forced to jump back, and while doing so, a large pillar of electricity shot from the ground, striking Xurkitree and inflicting significant damage.
Xurkitree let out a cry of pain, and Zeraora could sense that the Electric-type was in agony. It was already clear that Xurkitree was forced to do this since she did witness his capture on that fateful day.
Rainbow Dash had no doubt in her mind that Zeraora was thinking the same thing. She knew that Xurkitree had no choice in the matter, and she was willing to help it, knowing it had been captured against its will.
"Plasma Fists!"
Zeraora's fists were covered in a veil of plasma once again, her body crackling with electricity. Her tail was flailing behind her, and her eyes were blazing with a fierce determination.
Spitfire narrowed her eyes, watching the battle unfold before her. She had a smirk on her face, watching as the two clashed. Zeraora was able to land a solid blow on Xurkitree, and her punches were causing massive explosions.
"Think you're so tough...?!" Spitfire clenched her teeth, showing signs of visible irritation once more. "Try this then!" Using her ship's functions, she would suddenly have it shoot condensed blasts of light.
These weren't just explosive attacks, but they were also capable of affecting the area around it. These blasts of light had a type of gravitational pull behind them, which meant that they would attract anything nearby.
Zeraora's eyes widened as her speed was being countered by these new attacks. She attempted running off, but there were so man of them started pulling her in. "Z-Zera?!" Zeraora gasped as her body was then pelted with these blasts of light.
After being blasted by them, Zerarora would tumble across the ground, nearly falling off into the canyon's edge. She was breathing heavily, trying to get back up, her body smoking. "Z-Ze...!"
Spitfire didn't stop there. She would unload more, making sure to put the pressure on the both of them. Zeraora rolled to get back up, narrowly avoiding a blast of light, only for the light to pull her in once more, striking her and sending her crashing onto the ground. "O-Ora!"
"Zeraora!" Rainbow Dash cried while trying to avoid the light as well. She could see how much her Pokemon was taking a beating, but she didn't want to give up. The rainbow-maned mare had to keep pushing, and try and find a way out. "Go! Whirlipede!" Swiftly, she called for Whirlipede's assistance.
"Whirlipede!"
"Use Rollout!"
"Whirl!" Whirlipede would build up some speed on the spot, spinning and rolling at a fast speed, the dust and dirt being kicked up by its movements. It charged towards the enemy, aiming to ram right into them. He crashed right into Xurkitree, stopping it from striking at Zeraora with a Power Whip.
Xurkitree grunted, but quickly retaliated by slamming its arms into Whirlipede, causing the spiked bug to roll backward. Whirlipede's tough body was able to withstand the attacks, but he was still left reeling from the force of them.
"Rollout, again!"
"Pede!" Using Rollout's ability to grow in power each time it is used, Whirlipede went in for another one. Once more, the two Pokemon clashed, their attacks colliding with each other.
"Persistent...!" Spitfire commented She also had to wonder how the rest of her fleet were doing since all those Pheromosas had shown up. Right now, Vast Poni Canyon and its nearby surroundings were active with two sides going against each other. But at that moment, Spitfire received a message from her Universe.
"Hello? Captain Spitfire? We have some gateways ready to be opened."
"Hm. Great to hear." Spitfire's scowl turned into a smirk. "Open one for me. I'm not leaving this Universe...Instead, I want you to bring over a Sunstorm at once."
"Yes, ma'am!" With that order, the gateway for the Sunstorm was slowly materializing in the sky. Zeraora shoulder tackled Xurkitree, who managed to hold its ground while also using one of its wires to hold back Whirlipede. They were all unaware of what was forming above them at the moment.
"Hm?" That is until Rainbow Dash heard a familiar sound from above. With her head raised up, her eyes widened when seeing what was being formed. "A...Gateway?! Wait a sec. Does that mean more of 'em are comin' through?!"
"Oh, it's not more of my fleet, I assure you! It's something far worse!" Spitfire exclaimed as the Sunstorms from the other side were ready to be poured through. All those blazing light particles that were jumbled up, tilted sent straight through the gateway.
With enough time, the Solar Empire managed to get some gateways up and running once more, which would quickly turn the tides in their favour. As Rainbow Dash and the others looked up, they saw it. The Sunstorms. All those particles of hot light would start dropping down.
It was like a swarm of bees, the way the glowing white and golden lights were spreading out. And Rainbow Dash had a hunch that the light would be extremely dangerous. She would call back Whirlipede in order to keep him safe from the light, and the Sunstorms. However, avoiding the Sunstorms was a different story since they were very much combustible.
Zeraora and Rainbow Dash began moving as fast they could, trying to avoid the swarm of Sunstorms. The two would roll and run, but it wasn't easy.
"Zera!" Zeraora was quick on her feet, running as fast as she could. Despite how fast she was, the abundance of Sunstorms and the explosions they left behind were gaining fast. Spitfire laughed as all the explosions went over, further ruining the beautiful Vast Poni Canyon.
But that was not all. There was another gateway opened elsewhere, meant to deal with the many Pheromosas, dropping some of them down on these Ultra Beasts. Fluttershy saw it herself, with a horde light particles being dropped off from a distance, causing the Pheromosa to flee in terror.
Soon, the area was lit up with a sea of flames and smoke, as the Sunstorms continued their relentless assault. Rainbow Dash and Zeraora were running out of space to flee, and the explosions were starting to get closer.
"Zera!" Zeraora would look back, seeing how the Sunstorms were gaining on them. She was doing her best to keep up with Rainbow Dash, but it was becoming increasingly difficult.
Just then, Rainbow Dash was about to be intercepted by some of them right when she was looking the other way, but Zeraora was quick to react. She would tackle Rainbow Dash out of the way, saving her from the explosion.
"Zera!" Zeraora cried out, as the two rolled on the ground. Rainbow Dash was a bit dazed from the impact and there was no time to recover as the shockwave from an exploding Sunstorm struck Zeraora's body, causing her to grimace in pain. And yet, she held onto Rainbow Dash as the area around them was being blown up constantly. "Zera...Zera!"
"Zeraora! Are you okay?!" Her words were cut off once another Sunstorm blew up near them, forcing the duo to take cover. Now, they were the ones being pressured, and the Sunstorms were everywhere.
"Hmph. Not so tough now, are you?" Spitfire snickered, watching the scene unfold. She was enjoying this immensely, and she couldn't help but laugh. Zeraora wanted to keep Rainbow Dash safe from harm, holding onto her trainer closely as she saw a Sunstorm coming directly for them.
"Zeraora!"
"Wha-" Rainbow Dash didn't have time to react, as the Sunstorm exploded right in front of them, engulfing them in a blinding flash. Zeraora managed to stay steady, not moving from this spot and continuing to hold onto Rainbow Dash.
The rainbow-maned mare could feel the heat from the explosion, and the intensity of the light was overwhelming. She couldn't see anything, and she felt as if her body was burning. Poor Zeraora was taking the brunt of it, her back was scorching, and she could feel her fur singeing.
The heat was growing more and more, becoming unbearable rapidly. That did not stop her from keeping Rainbow Dash safe. "Z-Zeraora! Let me go! I can try and-"
"Ze!" But she wouldn't listen. She was going to keep Rainbow Dash safe, no matter what. She could not risk Rainbow Dash taking all that damage. Not after all she's done for her. Rainbow Dash stayed silent when seeing Zeraora's face.
"Zeraora..." Rainbow Dash spoke her name, seeing her sadness. It seemed that she wouldn't exact her revenge on those who took her Universe away from her. She was too focused on protecting Rainbow Dash. The pegasus understood clearly and there wasn't much she could do to get out of this scenario.
"Well, it is what it is. Don't worry. I'll make sure we'll put you to good use. By having you be fuel for Necrozma." Spitfire said as the final batch of Sunstorms were about to be dropped, looking to be the final hit.
Multiple of them homed in on the duo, ready to finish this. Rainbow Dash and Zeraora could only brace themselves, knowing that their time was up. The two of them shut their eyes, waiting for the inevitable.
But at that moment, a certain cry broke through, as well as a beautiful and glorious splash of water, intercepting the final Sunstorms, causing them to explode in the air. "W-What?!" Spitfire exclaimed, seeing the water splash.
As the duo slowly opened their eyes, they looked up to see a familiar figure floating near them. A figure that they and the others have encountered before. None other than one of the many Island Guardians of Alola. Poni Island's Guardian.
Tapu Fini.
"Fini!" Tapu Fini's voice rang out, as the waters below her moved, creating a small whirlpool. The waves were crashing against the cliffside, and the winds were picking up. The water was swirling around her, and the rain was falling.
Rainbow Dash and Zeraora were both in awe, as the legendary Pokemon hovered over them. Tapu Fini's eyes were glowing, and her body was surrounded by a blue aura. The coolness of her water would even soothe Zeraora's burning back, the water splashing around them.
"You again...!" Spitfire growled at the Island Guardian. Once more, Tapu Fini arrives to stop the Solar Empire. With no more Sunstorms, the gateway was left lingering there, still open and not yet closed. With Tapu Fini involved, there was no doubt in Rainbow Dash's mind that one of the Island Guardians were aware.
Tapu Fini was already thinking about how she couldn't fully stop them before. But now, she was going to make sure that she truly puts a stop to Spitfire's fleet, making sure that they never sully her island ever again, while also being of assistance to Rainbow Dash. After all, much like how she helped Applejack and her family make peace with their lost loved ones, she aimed to throw in her help for her as well.
As the journey continues.
